Ok. So I am slowly trudging my way through this massive game haha. A lot more work than I thought it would be
I am developing fairly strong town reads. I am less strong on the scum reads. That is typically how I am though, so meh.
I have been playing NOC-style Mafia game for a while so I am used to this format.
Early game, I really thought that Spiffy was the hero we deserved. I found almost everything he posted to be town. However, I had a nagging suspicion in my mind that he was acting with all of this bluster and gusto in order to fool the town early on so he wouldn't be targetted by night actions and he could get his way for the first day or two and lynch people that he wanted. When people started to suspect him, a lot of their thoughts rang true with my suspicions. In good faith though, I can't really lynch Spiffy simply because what I am feeling about him is paranoia. That he is playing too aggressive/too village of a game to truly be a villager. I completely advocate our power roles sorting him out during the night (I hope that has been done by this point in the game seeing as how many people suspected him).
I hypothesized that Spiffy could have been voting for his scum buddy HD/bussing HD to tie HD to Fatecrasher for a mislynch later in the game. In the early game I did not like Fatecrasher's posts that much. It looked like Fatecrasher was posting to get his quota in and then going to do other things while the villagers ate themselves alive. Fatecrasher's "reaction" to HD thinking "I'm not scum so he has to be scum" is weird too. I agree with the push by Spiffy against Fatecrashers. Somewhere along the way I started to get paranoid of Spiffy and one of the manifestations of my paranoia was that Fatecrashers was being tied to a HDscum for a later mislynch. Looking forward and cheating in my reread a little bit, I can see that Fatecrasher is probably town given he confirmed his power so this hypothesis does have some merit. Seriously, someone needs to investigate Spiffy.
That said, I do have some strong town reads from the first day.
I think Jal is fairly town for the discussion he tried to create by painting a target on his back. That is something I have done as town and that is something that I can see town doing in format like this (am I right that NOC-style games are usually not run here?).
I think LightWolf is town mainly for his push against Spiffy who was widely townread at the time he started pushing and general strong presence in the town.
I also think vonFielder is town for his interaction with Moi. I found that to be super organic (naturally developed) and I don't see scum putting that much effort in to try and frame a townie.
I also think Celever is town for the interactions that he had with Spiffy.
I really disliked ButteredToast's early game and was prepared to vote him. It looked like a newb trying to play up the newb card so that he would not be suspected. I played for a while on this called EpicMafia and when I first started playing there a lot of older players would try to "trick" newbs into telling them their roles by asking what icon was next to newb's name on the newb's client (this is the representation of the role, so a doctor looks like a doctor, a cop a cop, etc). It was very easy to get people to think you were a villager as a newb by saying the what the villager looked like. But then ButteredToast said a few comments that made me believe he actually had no idea what was going on (I think it was related to Jal but I can't remember right now). So I think ButteredToast is probably villager.
I also think Sunny is probably town for his late Day 1 posting about disliking circumstantial evidence. I found that to be a newb tell that seems town in my opinion but Fatecrasher's 502 I think is a good catch that Sunny might not have wanted to vote a buddy.
I know hindsight is 20/20 but I really disliked Ullar's teaching post towards HD at the beginning of the game. That seems like an older mafia player trying to teach a younger mafia player. Do the mafia get to talk outside of this thread at any time? Or can they only talk during the night?
I think PokeNGuy, or whatever name he has, is trying to skirt by without drawing any real attention to himself. I really hate his 533. That could easily be trying get two mislynches.
Sad to see LightWolf go. Not that surprising in my opinion. I think Spiffy's play on the second day is helping qualm my paranoia about him. I had a similar feeling about the post restriction and the announcer. Why would mafia want to tie the two together? It doesn't make sense. Anyway, if that post restriction is fake, that is really weird that the hosts allowed him to fake it. Oh well.
I am now starting to get paranoid of Celever for that catch on Haunted.
I need to stop doing acid. *looks around*
ButteredToast looks better on the second day too, especially around discussing Spiffy and trying to discern his motivations/formulating a plan based off the things that we know. She does say von v Spiffy is villager v villager which is meh.
Ok, at this time I am kinda skimming a lot of things because there is simply too much to read and a lot of is arguing over the person I know to be confirmed scum so the burden isn't there.
Phew... Ok. I made it to the end although my habits at the end of the night of the game are not necessarily the best. :P
Town reads (Strongest to weakest): Spiffy, Fatecrashers, vonFielder, ButteredToast, Celever, Jalmont, sunny, PokeGuy, Mithril
vote: Mithril
Spiffy, why would they not target you again if they removed your BP?
