Gonna vote for 2xTheTap. Only set i see that doesn't look too standard, but can still hold its own without being too gimmicky imo.

Grumpig @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 160 HP / 252 SpA / 96 Spe
Modest Nature
- Snatch
- Focus Blast
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball

I'm glad for this thread to finally be back in motion and I'm going to post a pretty cool Grumpig set.

Snatch has been one of my favorite moves ever since the Kecleon NBT where it was suggested and I stole a Belly Drum from a Linoone. This set is basically Thunder Wave + 3 Attacks but with Snatch instead. This set strives to take boosts from opposing Pokemon as well as giving Grumpig a chance of gaining Recovery from an opposing Pokemon. Everything thing else is pretty standard (I hope) and that's about it.

Grumpig @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Trick / Energy Ball

I used this some time ago and I know others have tried it too. Choice Scarf turns Grumpig into a pretty decent revenge killer while still having the same qualities the 'normal' sets have (Fire / Ice / Fighting check), albeit to a lesser extent. The main draw to this is surprise factor as no one expects your Grumpig to outspeed their +2 Carracosta, Mightyena, Ursaring, etc. Trick is also pretty nice for crippling unassuming walls.

252 SpA Grumpig Psychic vs. -1 4 HP / 0 SpD Carracosta: 246-289 (84.8 - 99.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Grumpig Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Fraxure: 133-157 (48.7 - 57.5%) -- 94.9% chance to 2HKO
252 SpA Grumpig Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Ursaring: 260-306 (80.7 - 95%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after toxic damage

Grumpig actually has pretty good special attack :0

Grumpig @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Future Sight
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Future Sight is my favorite move. This set provides cool resistances to fire, ice, and psychic moves making Grumpig a good check. at the same time future sight supports its teammates who can get off extra damage. some ways Future Sight works for those who don't know yet:

- discourages fighting- and poison-types from switching in, meaning your dark or fighting-type mons can get off hits or have their counters wrecked
- draws dark-, psychic-, and steel-types in, giving you a good matchup when you double and their Probopass is forced in to face your Poliwrath for example

you can use specs and trick on this set if you're cool

Grumpig @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 160 HP / 252 SpA / 96 Spe OR 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Modest / Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Taunt / Shadow Ball

This thing is good enough to be a standard set lmao. CM pig kind of blows through slower teams and gets a lot of chances to set up. Taunt makes it perform great against defensive mons, but Shadow Ball is alright to hit other Grumpig and I guess Duosion. The speed choices are either enough for Pawniard or max, which beats things like Jolly Fraxure that Grumpig normally wouldn't and can speed tie with Arbok and Stoutland, which is nice. Max Timid is also really funny because you can reliably outspeed Arbok, Stoutland, and basically everything that's normally faster and just bop them, and since you're boosting with CM the power difference isn't too noticeable.

Grumpig @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Counter
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- Focus Blast / Taunt / Filler

What is the best way to KO grumpig? Physical attacks of course! This sets goal is to punish those physical attacks that think they can beat up grumpig, which is why a physically defensive spread + counter is chosen. Grumpig already has a high enough spatk to still be an effective enough special wall, while now it has an easier time taking on physically offensive pokes. Calcs:
252+ Atk Choice Band Stoutland Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Grumpig: 229-271 (62.9 - 74.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (otherwise OHKOs)
252 Atk Ursaring Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Grumpig: 216-255 (59.3 - 70%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 252 Atk Jumpluff Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Grumpig: 196-232 (53.8 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Pawniard Knock Off vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Grumpig: 168-198 (46.1 - 54.3%) -- 49.2% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Rapidash Wild Charge vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Grumpig: 78-92 (21.4 - 25.2%) -- 0.1% chance to 4HKO (perfect rap counter)

Obviously physically defensive is good enough but counter is just a nice finish
(note: im p sure whirlwind is illegal with counter due to post gen3 egg move and counter is gen 3 tutor only)
