In this straightforward but critically important plan Canis demonstrates the power of +spe Mega Gardevoir. While the physical bulk loss compared to your convential Gardevoir might be a bit of a pain 115 speed just makes it faster than so many potentially troubling things. Case in point Medley being just so marginally faster than Gimle allowed the Gardevoir to not only avoid any damage at all from this horrible match up it did that other slightly useful thing in EN KOing Maxim's Mega while it uselessly tried to make a trio of Light Screens. Oh and did I mention Canis managed to get a wish up too? Yeah that also happened. Canis takes a critical HP lead for almost the first time in this match. Does this make it Regigigas time?

Thanks to Reflect and Wish, I don't think Regigigas can ORKO Garde. Let's take advantage.

Psychic > Hyper Voice > Psychic
IF Thunder Wave AND Regigigas is NOT behind a Substitute AND Regigigas is NOT behind Safeguard AND Regigigas is NOT Paralyzed THEN Magic Coat ONCE and push back
IF Thunder Wave AND the above sub does not activate THEN Imprison (Thunder Wave, Substitute, Endure) ONCE and push back
IF Wide Guard when you are to use Hyper Voice THEN Psychic and push back

Things look increasingly grim for Maxim. Heavenbringer uses just about the only stalling tactic it has to reasonable success in at least getting Medley to hit itself once and have some confusion linger over to the coming round. But even through a Light Screen the Gardevoir can do cause a lot of hurt when she hurls Regigigas around with Psychic powers, a crit definitely helping. Maxim on the other hand lands some paltry damage but at least does ensure Regigigas will be the faster for all of one action.

Uh oh.

Heavy Slam~Stomp~Heavy Slam
If Heavy Slam is Disabled when you are to use it, then use Giga Impact that action and Dizzy Punch the following action.
If Successful P/E move, then use Substitute (15 HP) the first time and Chill the second.
[Do Once] If Reflect is up on the opponent's side of the field, then use Brick Break and push actions back.

Proving that even with the best of plays and substitution abuse, luck can still prevail. Medley has a plan, its a good plan, only one thing can ruin this plan, so of course that one thing happens right off the bat. The Gardevoir smacks itself in confusion once again when attempting to Protect itself and this gives Heavenbringer just the split second needed to readjust and ignore the substitution Maxim gave it (the Protective action wasn't successful after all, which Regigagas was more than able to see at +4 Priority) and instead just go with plan A of crashing into her with a Heavy Slam. Recklessly failing to provide his own safeguards against this admittedly 50/50 chance Canis pays the price. Medley actively encourages Heavenbringer to just keep on doing that and the behemoth is happy to oblige. When all is said and done Medley is basically flattened like a pancake, Heavenbringer is rid of the Slow Start burden and Maxim suddenly has the HP lead back while also having removed Canis' biggest thread. Chance substitutions are still a thing when ordering second people, it pays to use them.

Handbook said:
An attack clause takes the form "If Pokemon X uses move or move class Y" or "If X is ordered" or "If Pokemon is to use X" or even "IF Move". However, despite the terminology used, the substitution with that clause will activate if the right move is ordered, regardless of whether or not the move is actually successfully used.
According to these sentences, Maxim's sub would activate (I asked dogfish, he agrees, see http://prntscr.com/7a9pzs here) and the round would end a good bit differently.
I won't get hung up on this if it isn't the case, though.

"Sucessful P/E move" is a chance clause, not an attack clause. Dogfish44 is wrong. The change in the chance sub was done precisely to make successful p/e a valid sub and was voted with that in mind.

See this post. Especially:

With this simple change we can use stuff like "IF X is under Protect" or "If Protect is used successfully" without any fear of it being deemed illegal. Sure, the ref would have some discretion to decide what is and isn't allowed, but most situations are clear-cut anyway and there is always irc. We do that for combos in a much much more subjective manner and we haven't exploded because of it yet.
FishEdit: My fault, I only looked at the Move Substitutions where it made claims that could boil down to "IF blah blah blah MOVE_X, THEN" would always activate regardless of the move's success. I'm going to edit a few things in to clarify, because if I'm not able to understand something after reading it, then like hell I'm going to expect anyone else to o_O
