Frogadier

[OVERVIEW]

Frogadier stands out thanks to Protean, which grants it with a STAB boost on all of its attacks. Frogadier also has a great movepool to complement Protean, which grants it excellent coverage, hitting the whole tier for neutral damage. Frogadier has a good Speed stat as well, making it a solid revenge killer and late-game cleaner. However, Frogadier is very frail, meaning that it cannot take advantage of Protean's defensive capabilities. Futhermore, its Attack and Special Attack are mediocre, meaning that its moves must be super effective if it wants to hit foes hard. While Frogadier is fast, it is still outsped by many common offensive threats such as Tauros, Sneasel, Archeops, and Choice Scarf users. Priority is also an issue with Pokemon such as Kangaskhan and Fletchinder roaming the tier, hindering Frogadier's effectiveness.

Moves
========

Gunk Shot hits many Pokemon for good damage and has a nice chance to poison opposing Pokemon, softening foes that switch in. It is also the best option against Fairy-types such as Mega Audino and Togetic, Grass-types such as Lilligant and Ludicolo, and specially bulky Pokemon such as Cryogonal and Assault Vest Hariyama. Hydro Pump is Frogadier's most powerful special attack, having fantastic coverage with Gunk Shot and allowing Frogadier to hit Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-types, such as Magmortar, Rhydon, and Probopass, for heavy damage. Ice Beam hits Grass- and Dragon-types, such as Vileplume, Gourgeist, Torterra, and Zweilous, as well as hitting Scyther when it switches in. Grass Knot hits Water-types such as Samurott, Poliwrath, Kabutops, Carracosta, and Quagsire. Dark Pulse is used to hit Psychic-types, such as Uxie and Mesprit, as well as Ghost-types, such as Rotom and Mismagius, on the switch; the move also allows Frogadier to turn into a Dark-type, making it immune to Uxie's and Mesprit's STAB moves as they try to target Frogadier when it has changed to a Poison-type. Alternatively, Hidden Power Fire lets Frogadier hit Ferroseed, which otherwise walls it, as well as other Steel-types such as Magneton and Klinklang. U-turn lets Frogadier retain momentum and the bonus of hitting Uxie, Mesprit, and Malamar.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack EVs are used to allow Frogadier to hit as hard as possible with Gunk Shot. 240 Speed EVs and a Naive nature are used to outspeed up to positive-natured base 95 Speed Pokemon while not reducing Frogadier's attacking prowess. The rest of the EVs are placed into Special Attack to make Frogadier's special attacks hit a bit harder. Life Orb significantly increases Frogadier's damage output. Protean grants Frogadier STAB on all of its attacks, making its coverage options all hit very hard.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Frogadier being very frail, it is hard to bring it in without taking heavy damage, so it is best to bring it in after a Pokemon has fainted or via a slow U-turn or Volt Switch. While Frogadier's coverage is impressive, its sheer damage output is mediocre, so it is best to catch the opponent off guard by luring in and KOing foes with certain coverage moves while also breaking down bulky cores with its superb coverage. Before cleaning up late-game, make sure to eliminate any faster Pokemon or priority users. Also, try to hit predicted switch-ins with the right coverage move in order to deal heavy damage to the opponent's team.

Team Options
========

Due to Frogadier being very frail, offensive Pokemon with access to U-turn or Volt Switch, such as Magneton, Liepard, Scyther, and Rotom, make for great partners because they can bring Frogadier in safely. Frogadier pairs well certain Pokemon based on what coverage it runs. If it is running Ice Beam, Fighting-types such as Sawk and Gurdurr make for good partners because they appreciate having Pokemon such as Vileplume and Gourgeist eliminated. If running Grass Knot, Fire-types, such as Magmortar and Pyroar, appreciate Frogadier's ability to take out Samurott. Fighting- and Poison-types, such as Sawk, Hariyama and Garbodor, pair well with Frogadier when it is running Dark Pulse, as it is able to take down both Uxie and Mesprit for Sawk and Hariyama while also taking out Xatu to aid Garbodor. Pokemon that hate Ferroseed, such as Swords Dance Samurott, pair well with Frogadier if it is running Hidden Power Fire. Frogadier also loves entry hazard support, as it gives Frogadier an easier time KOing opposing Pokemon. Garbodor is a great partner for this role, as it is able to set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes, and it can wear down priority attackers that threaten Frogadier with Rocky Helmet. Due to Frogadier being worn down by Life Orb recoil, it appreciates entry hazards being cleared so that it is not worn down more quickly, so Rapid Spin and Defog users such as Claydol, Kabutops, Prinplup, and Xatu all make for excellent partners, with Xatu also having access to U-turn to bring in Frogadier safely. Because Frogadier has a hard time against very bulky Pokemon, wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sawk and Life Orb Magmortar are great partners as well. While it is not a necessity, Frogadier also likes to have Sticky Web on the field to outspeed even more Pokemon, making its cleaning abilities even better, so Kricketune and Leavanny make for good teammates.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Frogadier can also run a specially offensive set, but, in general, it is outclassed by other fast Water-types, such as Swift Swim Ludicolo, Floatzel, and Simipour. Hidden Power Electric hits Mantine and Pelipper very hard, which otherwise take Frogadier's attacks well. Taunt is an okay move to stop walls from healing or preventing entry hazards from being set up, but Frogadier is typically better off outright attacking. Frogadier also has access to Toxic Spikes, which can be useful because it forces switches, but it is generally better off just dishing out damage, and there are plenty of other entry hazard setters that can already provide this support.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon that are not weak to most of Frogadier's attacks, such as Musharna, Garbodor, Bouffalant, Hariyama, and Gurdurr, are able to tank a hit and retaliate back. It is worth noting though that Musharna takes a lot of damage from from either Dark Pulse or U-turn. Bouffalant can potentially gain a Sap Sipper boost if it switches in on Grass Knot. Gurdurr is able to pick off Frogadier with Mach Punch, and Hariyama can pick off Frogadier with either Fake Out or Bullet Punch.

**Faster Attackers**: Due to Frogadier being very frail, any naturally faster Pokemon or Choice Scarf user can easily revenge kill Frogadier. Such examples include Tauros, Scyther, Sneasel, and Archeops; however, all of them have trouble switching in safely.

**Priority Attackers**: Fletchinder, Kangaskhan, Mawile, and Cacturne can easily pick off Frogadier with their priority moves, but most of them cannot safely switch in. It is also worth noting that, depending on what type Frogadier has switched to via Protean, it may be resistant to the foe's priority moves. For example, if Frogadier uses Gunk Shot, it resists Mach Punch. If it uses Dark Pulse, it resists Sucker Punch.

In the overview, state somewhere that its attacking stats are quite average which is a pretty major setback. 63 / 83 isnt all that great :/
  • Decent Speed stat lets it outspeed up to Uxie
Uxie seems like an odd example here, just say its decently fast but there are quite a few common offensive threats that outspeed it.
  • Faces competition from other special attackers
Does it really? Not that many other special attackers can easily go mixed or boast Frogadier's coverage movepool.
  • Gunk Shot hits many Pokemon for good damage and is the best option against Mega Audino or Togetic and Grass-types
Gunk Shot also hits specially bulky pokemon such as AV hariayama and cryogonal.

I'm doubting the use of HP Fire, as it really only targets ferroseed, but idk what else would go there. Ice Beam could use a moves mention here, at the very least in OO (I'd rather moves mention but if other qc disagrees then oo is fine).

In usage tips maybe add a line about hitting mons on the switch with the appropriate coverage move, the general rule of thumb is to aim for three bullet points in each section if you can.
  • A bulky and slow user of U-turn, Volt Switch, or Baton Pass such as Togetic and Probopass can bring in Frogadier unscathed
I feel that offensive volt turners like rotom, zebstrika, scyther, liepard would pair better with the types of teams frogadier would fit on, being mainly offensive builds.

When you talk about garb in team options note that it punishes the physical attackers / priority users that revenge kill frogadier. Add other spikes users like cacturne and crustle.

Not too sure how helpful sticky web is because Frogadier is pretty fast, just missing out on the base 100+ mons. The spikes support seems like it would be much more useful, I'd remove the sticky web line.

Remove surf from OO

Fix the C&C formatting

This is looking pretty good, nice work.

I implemented all of your changes boltsandbombers, but I'm not too sure about removing the Sticky Web line because there's still plenty of Scarf Pokemon that are able to outspeed and many relevant Pokemon are faster than 97 base speed so I still say it's very helpful. I agree that spikes support is better, but usually Sticky Web teams have SR setter with it so it's still pretty good support for the Frog.

########
  • Protean gives Frogadier STAB on all of its attacks making it have unique niche in the tier
  • Decent Speed stat, but still misses out on several quite a few offensive Pokemon
  • Great coverage that hits most of the tier for at least neutral damage
  • Mediocre offenses mean it will not deal a lot of damage unless it hits super effectively or if it hits frail Pokemon
  • Very frail so it cannot take even neutral hits very well
  • Still left outsped by several Pokemon in the tier

  • Gunk Shot hits many Pokemon for good damage and is the best option against Mega Audino or Togetic and Grass-types if you're going to say grass types list examples, otherwise dont as well as hitting specify that these pokemon are specially bulky which is why gunk hits them harder Assault Vest Hariyama and Cryogonal hard
  • Hydro Pump is Frogadier's most powerful attack and it hits Fire-types, Rock-types, and Ground-types for the most damage such as Magmortar and Probopass
  • Grass Knot is great for hitting Seismitoad, Carracosta, Samurott
  • Hidden Power Fire lets Frogadier hit Ferroseed which otherwise walls it
  • Ice Beam is another option to hit Grass- and Dragon-types such as Vileplume or Zweilous also hits scyther on the switch which is solid since it chews all the other attacks on the set with ease

Set Details
========
  • Max Attack investment to make Gunk Shot hit as hard as possible
  • Max Speed investment and a Naive nature to outspeed as much as possible while retaining its special attacking prowess
  • Life Orb is chosen for a significant boost in damage output
  • Protean is the ability of choice as it grants STAB on all of Frogadier's attacks

Usage Tips

  • Offensive Pokemon with access to U-turn or Volt Switch such as Liepard, Scyther, and Rotom make great partners
  • Frogadier loves entry hazards as it gives it an easier time KOing opponents so Garbodor and Seismitoad are great partners as the former is able to set up Spikes, Toxic Spikes and wear down priority attackers that threaten Frogadier with Rocky Helmet while the latter sets up Stealth Rock
  • Due to being already worn down by Life Orb recoil, Frogadier appreciates hazards being cleared so that it is not worn down as fast so Claydol, Prinplup, and Xatu also gives a relatively slow u-turn, mention that as well make excellent partners
  • Since Frogadier has a hard time against very bulky Pokemon, wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sawk or Life Orb Magmortar make great partners
  • Frogadier also likes to have Sticky Web on the field to outspeed even more Pokemon making its cleaning abilities even better so Kricketune and Leavanny are great users of the move make for good teammates

  • Frogadier also has access to Toxic Spikes which can be useful since it forces switches, but it's generally better off just dishing out damage instead

Checks and Counters
########

**Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Lickilicky or Hariyama tank a hit and cripple it with Knock Off or outright KO respectively lickilicky is really uncommon and hariyama is 2hkoed by gunk shot, the first move on the set, so try and find some better examples here

**Faster Attackers**: Due to Frogadier being very frail, any naturally faster or Choice Scarf Pokemon can easily revenge kill Frogadier. Such examples include Tauros, Scyther, and Archeops note that they have trouble switching in

**Priority**: Pokemon like Kangaskhan, Mawile, and Cacturne can easily pick off Frogadier with their priority moves same as above

**Entry Hazards**: Due to Frogadier already being worn down by Life Orb, entry hazards really shorten its lifespan every time it switches in
Fix the stuff in bold.

Alright I can finally throw my thoughts in after testing it in the new meta.

  • Decent Speed stat, but still misses out on quite a few offensive Pokemon
  • Great coverage that hits most of the tier for at least neutral damage

  • Very frail so it cannot take even neutral hits very well
  • Still left outsped by several Pokemon in the tier
- Even resisted hits do significant damage, which is a huge flaw that prevents it from using Protean to effectively survive hits.

Also, the new and revamped set:

Protean Attacker
########
name: Protean Attacker
move 1: Gunk Shot
move 2: Hydro Pump
move 3: Ice Beam / Grass Knot
move 4: Dark Pulse / Hidden Power Fire / U-turn
ability: Protean
item: Life Orb
evs: 252 Atk / 16 SpA / 240 Spe
nature: Naive

Moves
========
  • Gunk Shot hits many Pokemon for good damage and is the best option against Mega Audino or Togetic and Grass-types such as Lilligant as well as hitting specially bulky Pokemon such as Assault Vest Hariyama and Cryogonal hard
  • Hydro Pump is Frogadier's most powerful attack and it hits Fire-types, Rock-types, and Ground-types for the most damage such as Magmortar and Probopass
  • Grass Knot is great for hitting Kabutops, Carracosta, Samurott
  • Hidden Power Fire lets Frogadier hit Ferroseed which otherwise walls it
  • Ice Beam is another option to hit Grass- and Dragon-types such as Vileplume or Zweilous as well as hitting Scyther on the switch
- First, note on Gunk Shot and Hydro Pump's excellent offensive synergy (since they are the main moves to use). Gunk Shot hits Grass-types and bulky Water resists in general, while also being able to poison them, whereas Hydro Pump nails Poison resists hard.
- Emphasize Gunk Shot as being Frogadier's main damage dealer, especially due to its poison chance which can help soften bulky Pokemon such as Lanturn, Prinplup, and Hariyama. You can compress its roles instead of saying 'hits this and this and that'; mention it doing great damage against bulky Fairy-types and offensive Grass-types (Ludicolo needs a bigger mention here since Frog cannot hit it with any other attack).
- Replace the Probopass mention for a mention of Rhydon or Stunfisk.
- Now that Seismitoad is gone, Grass Knot is no longer nearly as necessary. Ice Beam can be used instead to net the bulky Grass-types that shrug off Gunk Shot + Hydro Pump, namely Vileplume, Gourgeist, and Torterra. You can mention that Ice Beam easily KOes the former two should they switch into a Gunk Shot, lessening the need for prediction. It also grants Frogadier access to an accurate and reliable attack, as well as additional coverage on Flying-types such as Xatu and Rotom-S.
- Most of the Grass Knot targets you mentioned can be hit hard by Hydro Pump as it is. Note targets that can only be taken down by Grass Knot (Samurott, Poliwrath), then list the "bonus" targets (Kabutops, Quagsire, Carracosta) as side mentions.
- Dark Pulse can be used to lure bulky Psychic-types that would try to take on Frogadier as a Poison-type, turning the tables on them as you strike them for major damage while becoming immune to their STAB. Dark Pulse also has the small benefit of turning Frogadier into a Dark-type, which allows it to take Sucker Punches better.
- Hidden Power Fire is solely to lure Ferroseed, and does a bit more damage than Hydro Pump against other Steel-types such as Mawile, Klinklang, and Magneton. However, it does cost a Speed IV (reflected in Set Details later).
- U-turn is sort of a filler move for Frogadier, but it can also be used to trick Psychic-types, and allows Frogadier to soft check Malamar. It is only really used if Frogadier has no need for additional coverage aside from its first 3 attacks, and simply serves as a way for Frogadier to deal chip damage to opponents without putting itself in harm's way.

Set Details
========
You don't need max Speed as Frogadier's speed tier is so obscure; 240 is enough to allow Frog to outspeed base 95s, 244 if running HP Fire. The remaining EVs are dumped into Special Attack, which is enough for Frogadier to guarantee the 2HKO on Weezing with Hydro Pump.

Usage Tips
========
  • Due to Frogadier being very frail it's hard to bring it in without taking heavy amounts of damage so it's best to bring it in after a Pokemon has fainted or via a slow U-turn or Volt Switch
  • Before late-game cleaning, make sure to eliminate any faster Pokemon or priority users first
  • Try to hit predicted switch-ins with the right coverage move in order to deal heavy damage to the opponent's team
You have to emphasize that while Frogadier's coverage is very impressive, it doesn't have sheer power. This means Frogadier is most adept at luring targets with certain coverage moves, while breaking down bulky cores using its wide and hard-to-resist coverage.

Team Options
========
  • Offensive Pokemon with access to U-turn or Volt Switch such as Liepard, Scyther, and Rotom make great partners
  • Frogadier loves entry hazards as it gives it an easier time KOing opponents so Garbodor is a great partner as it is able to set up Spikes, Toxic Spikes and wear down priority attackers that threaten Frogadier with Rocky Helmet
  • Due to being already worn down by Life Orb recoil, Frogadier appreciates hazards being cleared so that it is not worn down as fast so Claydol, Prinplup, and Xatu which also has a slow U-turn make excellent partners
  • Since Frogadier has a hard time against very bulky Pokemon, wallbreakers such as Choice Band Sawk or Life Orb Magmortar make great partners
  • Frogadier also likes to have Sticky Web on the field to outspeed even more Pokemon making its cleaning abilities even better so Kricketune and Leavanny make for good teammates
This is where it starts getting a bit tricky. Certain Pokemon benefit from Frogadier's coverage removing certain Pokemon from play. Fighting-types in particular (such as?) like Frogadier's Ice Beam to take down Plume and Geist, as well as Dark Pulse to lure Psychic-types for them. Fire-types (such as?) can benefit from Frogadier removing bulky Water-types with Grass Knot or weakening them with Gunk Shot, while Pokemon that dislike Ferroseed (such as?) can partner well with HP Fire Frog. You can probably expand a bit more on this yourself, but basically picture the targets for each of Frogadier's coverage moves and identify what kinds of Pokemon appreciate having those targets removed.

Other Options
########
  • Dark Pulse is useful for hitting Psychic-types and Ghost-types such as Uxie, Mesprit, and Mismagius
  • Hidden Power Electric hits Mantine and Pelipper very hard
  • Taunt is an okay move to stop walls from healing or preventing hazards from going up
  • Frogadier also has access to Toxic Spikes which can be useful since it forces switches, but it's generally better off just dishing out damage instead
- You can remove Dark Pulse now.
- List a specially offensive set, and explain why it isn't recommended (generally inferior to Simipour, Swift Swim Ludicolo, and Floatzel as speedy specially offensive Water-types).

Checks and Counters
########

**Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Musharna or Gurdurr are able to tank a hit and set-up Calm Mind or retaliate with either Knock Off or Drain Punch respectively while Gurdurr is also able to pick off a weakened Frogadier with Mach Punch

**Faster Attackers**: Due to Frogadier being very frail, any naturally faster or Choice Scarf Pokemon can easily revenge kill Frogadier. Such examples include Tauros, Scyther, and Archeops, though all of them have trouble switching in

**Priority**: Pokemon like Kangaskhan, Mawile, and Cacturne can easily pick off Frogadier with their priority moves, but most of the Pokemon cannot safely switch in

**Entry Hazards**: Due to Frogadier already being worn down by Life Orb, entry hazards really shorten its lifespan every time it switches in
- Emphasize that said bulky Pokemon shouldn't be weak to Frogadier's attacks, but also emphasize that most Pokemon only need to survive a hit from Frogadier can be considered decent checks. You can probably list more examples of these bulky Pokemon, such as Garbodor, Bouffalant, and Hariyama.
- For the priority section, note that the priority users can run into issues taking down Frogadier if it has transformed into a type that resists their priority attacks, such as Poison-type against Mach Punch, Water / Grass-type against Aqua Jet, and Dark-type against Sucker Punch.
- Entry hazards section is too broad and applies to so many offensive Pokemon it can be considered general. You can remove this section entirely.

Do this and QC 2/3

mention magneton as a teammate, it forces a lot of switches and can volt switch to get frogadier in safely. Or you can double into Frog on the obvious ground type switch ins and throw off a free ice beam

It is also worth noting that depending on what type Frogadier has switched to via Protean, that it is able to resist moves, such as Mach Punch and Sucker Punch.

[OVERVIEW]

Frogadier stands out thanks to its ability Protean, which grants it with a STAB boost on all of its attacks. Frogadier also has a great movepool to complement Protean, which grants it excellent coverage, hitting the whole tier for neutral damage. Frogadier has a good Speed tier stat as well, making it a solid revenge killer and late-game cleaner. However, Frogadier is very frail, as it cannot take even resisted hits well, meaning that it cannot take advantage of Protean's defensive capabilities. Futhermore, its attack stats Attack and Special Attack are mediocre, meaning that its moves must be super effective if it wants to hit foes hard.

Moves
========

Gunk Shot hits many Pokemon for good damage and has a nice chance to poison opposing Pokemon, and it softens Pokemon softening foes that switch in. It is also the best option against Fairy-types, (RC) such as Mega Audino and Togetic, Grass-types, (RC) such as Lilligant and Ludicolo, and it hits specially bulky Pokemon, (RC) such as Cryogonal and Assault Vest Hariyama and Cryogonal (moved this b/c I don't want it to sound like Cryogonal holds AV), very hard. Hydro Pump is Frogadier's most powerful special attack, having fantastic coverage with Gunk Shot and allowing Frogadier to hit Fire-, Rock-, and Ground-types, such as Magmortar, Rhydon, and Probopass, for the most heavy damage. Ice Beam hits Grass- and Dragon-types, such as Vileplume, Gourgeist, Torterra, and Zweilous, as well as hitting Scyther when it switches in. (period), and Grass Knot hits Water-types such as Samurott, (AC) and Poliwrath, and it hits Kabutops, Carracosta, and Quagsire harder than Hydro Pump. In the last moveslot, Dark Pulse is used to hit Psychic-types, such as Uxie and Mesprit, as well as Ghost-types, such as Rotom and Mismagius, (AC) on the switch; the move also, and it allows Frogadier to turn into a Dark-type, making it immune to Uxie's and Mesprit's STAB moves as after they try to target Frogadier when it has changed to a Poison-type. Alternatively, Hidden Power Fire lets Frogadier hit Ferroseed, (AC) which otherwise walls it, and it hits as well as other Steel-types such as Magneton and Klinklang harder than anything else. U-turn lets Frogadier retains momentum while having and the bonus of hitting Uxie, (AC) and Mesprit, and it nails Malamar.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack EVs are used to allow Frogadier to hit as hard as possible with Gunk Shot. 240 Speed EVs and a Naive nature are used to outspeed up to positive-(AH)natured base 95 Speed Pokemon while retaining its special not reducing Frogadier's attacking prowess. The rest of the EVs are placed into Special Attack to make Frogadier's special attacks hit a bit harder. Life Orb is the item of choice, as without it, Frogadier's damage output is really low significantly increases Frogadier's damage output. Protean is absolutely mandatory, as it grants Frogadier STAB on all of its attacks, making its coverage options all hit very hard.

Usage Tips
========

Due to Frogadier being very frail, it is hard to bring it in without taking heavy amounts of damage, so it is best to bring it in after a Pokemon has fainted or via a slow U-turn or Volt Switch. While Frogadier's coverage is impressive, its sheer damage output is mediocre, so it is best to catch the opponent off guard by luring in targets and KOing foes with certain coverage moves while also breaking down bulky cores with its superb coverage. Before cleaning up late-game cleaning, make sure to eliminate any faster Pokemon or priority users first. Also, try to hit predicted switch-ins with the right coverage move in order to deal heavy damage to the opponent's team.

Team Options
========

If it is running Ice Beam, Fighting-types such as Sawk and Gurdurr make for good partners because they both appreciate having Pokemon such as Vileplume and Gourgeist eliminated. If it is running Grass Knot, Fire-types that are weak to Samurott's Aqua Jet (uh, all Fire-types are weak to it), such as Magmortar and Pyroar, appreciate Frogadier's ability to take out Samurott out. Pokemon that hate the presence of Ferroseed, such as Swords Dance Samurott, pair well with Frogadier if it is running Hidden Power Fire. Due to Frogadier being already worn down by Life Orb recoil, it appreciates entry hazards being cleared so that it is not worn down as fast more quickly, so Rapid Spin and Defog users such as Claydol, Kabutops, Prinplup, and Xatu all make for excellent partners, with Xatu also having access to U-turn to bring in Frogadier safely. Because Frogadier has a hard time against very bulky Pokemon, wallbreakers, (RC) such as Choice Band Sawk and Life Orb Magmortar, make are great partners as well. While it is not a necessity, Frogadier also likes to have Sticky Web on the field to outspeed even more Pokemon, (AC) making its cleaning abilities even better, so Kricketune and Leavanny make for good teammates.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Frogadier can also run a specially offensive set, but, in general, it is outclassed by other fast Water-types, such as Swift Swim Ludicolo, Floatzel, (AC) and Simipour. Hidden Power Electric hits Mantine and Pelipper very hard, (AC) which otherwise take Frogadier's attacks well. Taunt is an okay move to stop walls from healing or preventing entry hazards from being set up, but Frogadier is typically better off outright attacking. Frogadier also has access to Toxic Spikes, (AC) which can be useful because it forces switches, but it is generally better off just dishing out damage, and there are plenty of other entry hazard setters that can already provide this support.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Pokemon**: Pokemon that are not weak to most of Frogadier's attacks, such as Musharna, Garbodor, Bouffalant, Hariyama, and Gurdurr, are able to tank a hit and retaliate back with a heavy hit. It is worth noting though that Musharna takes a heavy hit a lot of damage from from either Dark Pulse or U-turn. Bouffalant can potentially gain a Sap Sipper boost if it switches in on Grass Knot. Gurdurr is able to pick off Frogadier with Mach Punch, (AC) and while Hariyama has both can pick off Frogadier with either Fake Out and or Bullet Punch.

**Faster Attackers**: Due to Frogadier being very frail, any naturally faster Pokemon or Choice Scarf Pokemon user can easily revenge kill Frogadier. Such examples include, (RC) Tauros, Scyther, Sneasel, and Archeops; however, all of them have trouble switching in safely.

**Priority Attackers**: Pokemon, such as Fletchinder, Kangaskhan, Mawile, and Cacturne can easily pick off Frogadier with their priority moves, but most of them cannot safely switch in. It is also worth noting that, (AC) depending on what type Frogadier has switched to via Protean, that it is able to resist moves, such as Mach Punch and Sucker Punch it may be resistant to the foe's priority moves. For example, if Frogadier uses Gunk Shot, it resists Mach Punch. If it uses Dark Pulse, it resists Sucker Punch.
