[WIN] Flower Paradise (Normal) - Dogfish44 and Maxim

The once verdant Seabreak Path now looks like a shade of its former self. Where flowers bloomed in a myriad colours, now you can only see withered plants, the lifeless shells that have been left behind by the miasma seeping all over the land. In the distance, you can hear the cry of a lone Mandibuzz, looking for any carcass lying around in the wasteland.

Unfortunately, it seems like the corruption has not spared the Flower Paradise itself, either. The Gracidea fields have been turned to dust, and any sign of life has long since disappeared from this land. However, mindful of your mission, you steel yourselves and proceed through the wasteland, heading deeper in the island where the dial lies.

Surprisingly, the dial still stands. A small patch of uncorrupted life surrounds it, as if the ancient building alone could keep off the corrupting miasma. As you approach it, however, a feminine laugh echoes in the air, sending chills down your spine.

"Foolish mortals. You and your kind are so predictable"

As you turn your eyes above, a dreadful shape materializes in the air.



"Look around yourself", she adds, with an ample gesture of her arm. "This is a picture of your future. This is the prelude of the Twilight".
You call forth your Pokemon allies in self-defense, but their attacks are easily blocked by the shadowy lady.
"I could extinguish your life in the space of an eyeblink if I wanted", she noted, with a gelid tone in her voice. Then, with a malevolent smile, she continues, "But where would be the enjoyment in it? Let me introduce you to a new acquaintance of mine..."
The ground beneath you starts shaking menacingly, while the tainted vines entwine into a large grove. As the grove opens wide, you find yourselves staring before who once was charged with the protection of this land... or rather, a shade of what he once was. Shaymin's foliage grew black and grey, and now its once jolly eyes burn with hatred and pain.

The evil creature of shadows disappears in the meanwhile, fading with the same rapidity with which she showed up, leaving you with the not-so-easy task of facing the twisted warden of Flower Paradise!

I grimaced once I reached the Seabreak Path. The entire place, once blooming with life, was now nothing more than a desolate wasteland of wilted flowers, all covered by a creeping miasma across the land. In the distance, I saw a Mandibuzz, looking for a snack among the scattered corpses of Pokemon. Darkrai may as well have put a big neon sign saying "Darkrai was here" for how wrecked the land was

Alas, the further we walked, the more we realized that Flower Paradise had suffered the same fate. The Gracidea fields had been turned to dust, and the once teaming meadow was just as dead as the Path. We knew that we had to stop this, and that, perhaps, we could restore the land to it's former glory, with time.

For now, we had to focus on our mission, and we hurried across the long penninsula. The good news was, the dial itself was still standing. A small patch of uncorrupted life surrounded it, as if the dial itself was repelling the miasma.

The bad news...we weren't alone.

"Foolish mortals. You and your kind are so predictable" a feminine voice screeched across the air

Surprised, we looked around for the source of the voice, and before long a dreadful shape materialized in the air.


"A Necturna?" I said. It was certainly a far cry from the threats I had faced recently. Little did I know the kind of power she wielded.

"Look around yourself", she said with an ample gesture of her arm. "This is a picture of your future. This is the prelude of the Twilight".

I, for one, was tired of the constant boss banter, so I called my Pokemon to shut the boss up. Unfortunately, she was more than prepared for my attack, and brushed the attacks off casually.

"I could extinguish your life in the space of an eyeblink if I wanted", she laughed, as though mocking my feeble attempt to stop her. Then, with a malevolent smile, she continued, "But where would be the enjoyment in it? Let me introduce you to a new acquaintance of mine..."

It was then that the ground shook, as if trembling in fear from some unknown source. Black, corrupted vines poured in from the outskirts of the island we were on, and created a large grove. The grove opened to reveal the former protector of Flower Paradise...now twisted into being its destruction. The guardian Shaymin's foliage grew black and grey, and its once gleeful eyes were distorted into a look of pure rage.

The Necturna, for her part, vanished as quickly as she came, and the two of us were alone against a powerful guardian. Sorrowful, we called our Pokemon to defend ourselves, hoping against hope that some fighting may snap the Shaymin out of its torture.



"Guys, we need to free Shaymin from its torment. Please lend me your strength."


"Of course, let's do this!"


"The hunt is on!"

Orion gets the foe's attention in order to allow the team mates to set up the necessary defenses before going on all-out offense, but the Skarmory isn't fast enough to prevent Shaymin from letting loose at the Castform with a seed blast. However the situation goes soon under control... until some ghosts rise from the defiled land to join the fight!

Not that it's hugely important, but I believe Castform sits at 93 HP? And I'll make the assumption that that was a Bullet Seed, not a Seed Bomb

zarator: Book of Old Tricks is only a +5, not a +6.

Anyhoo Maxim, I might have made a slight miscalculation on Sludge Wave (Apparently Sludge Wave still takes spread penalty 9.9'), which would leave us 1 damage short (Chandy's Heat Wave, Castform'#s Weather Ball, and Fidgit's Sludge Wave combine into 99 damage :|). I'm thinking that I just Helping Hand Chandelure's Heat Wave instead?

...stupid ghost type not being poison weak.

With the help of Cumulus and Multitask, Eget easily annihilates Trevenant and allows her team to keep attacking Shaymin. The Fidgit also spends an action to keep the team mate Skarmory healthy, but this intense activity is putting a major strain on the land spider's forces. Which may turn out to be troublesome, with more ghosts rising to face the raid team

To be honest, I was getting worried for Shaymin. We had put a lot of moves into it, and it still hadn't broken out of its control. I was afraid that this was going to end like Manaphy; nothing left but a broken Pokemon.
