The mist engulfing the Spring Path makes it hard for you to understand where you are, even with the help of the map N gave you. On the upside, though, it provides you with a welcome cover. With the entire region roaming with Darkrai's vile minions, few places in Sinnoh can still be called safe.

Eventually, you find the entrance to Turnback Cave, although "stumbling" would better describe it. According to the information the Eon twins shared with you, Cresselia is being held captive somewhere inside. No one is guarding the entrance - either nothing of value is inside or there are defenses further in. Uncertain about which of the possibilities would be worse, you cautiously step in, piercing through the darkness with the faint light of your torches.

But what is the right direction? Every room you enter looks identical to the previous one. You can't even tell if you've been walking in circles or not, except you haven't stumbled upon the entrance in quite some time by now. You frequently glanced at your watches, wary about how much time passed. But ever since you entered the cave, the watches have marked the same time, as if they were frozen. Or have you really entered a place beyond time? Sure, travelling through time is one thing, but this? The blood chill in your veins, as you question what you've been putting yourselves through.

Then, out of nothing but your deepest fears, a room shows up with a glooming rift at the center of it. Eerie whispers and wails echo from it, and even in the light of your torches, the portal looks pitch black. The echoes would frighten even the bravest of the trainers. And yet, you feel enthralled to them. Is this a sorcery? Or was your rationality lost the moment you stepped in this ominous place? Maybe no one will ever know, as even before you decided it, your body is already walking inside, enticed by the voices.

You still had the suspect you didn't leave your homeworld while you were walking through the cave, even as your perception of time was drifting away. But nothing like that could prepare you to what awaited you on the other side of the portal. Even the most accurate descriptions of what was known as the Distortion World didn't resemble the realm of darkness now seeping around you. A colorless cloud of shadows, with visages sometimes emerging from the haze, their expressions twisted in agony and despair. Whether it is a phenomenon of self-suggestion or those visages are real, you can't tell. What could real mean, in that place? Is it real? Are you still real?

Then, as you slowly gain a glimpse of auto-conscience once again, you see the portal landed you on a gloomy bridge, suspended over the infinite, twisting shadow. At the end of the bridge, a being was floating motionless, its skin looking pale and sickeningly colorless. Even in this state, though, you could tell from its shape that the creature was indeed the Dreamer itself. The creature you came here to save, even if you don't know who will save yourselves should it come down to that.

Putting your fears aside for as long as you can muster, you approach the captive Pokemon, but a female, cold voice suddenly calls you out, shrieking like a frightening banshee in the endless night.

What is this disturbance? You dare trespass this hallowed ground? This shall be your final resting place

Pretty sure you know the drill here from our talks on IRC a week or so ago, remove the adds and hit the Necturna then set up Safeguard or use Heal Bell if something gets paralysed by Baleful Hex. Remember that Dragonair cannot be hit by Baleful Hex (Well it can but it is immune to it) so it does not need Safeguard support.

This should get us rid of the mooks and then deal a solid 117hp of damage if no paralysis. If paralysis it deals around 93hp of damage. Enough to deal with it in three rounds. Thanks goodness threat table isn't affected in these first rounds -_-''.
 
Round 1

Hilda and Wyrm immediately evolve and, together with their team mates, they obliterate Necturna's allies before she can do anything about it. While this doesn't stop the witch from blasting the Salamence and the Syclant with her dark magic, it does allow the raid members to lash out at her unhindered. The opening doesn't last for long, though, because more ghosts appear to defend their mistress!

zarator : Those burn/paralysis/poison rolls on the second baleful hex were typos or something here pierced through safeguard? Also, Stat dif of Holy Fire is 4 (Rank 11 SpA vs Rank 7 SpD) so it deals a bit more damage.

Standard shit. Necturna receives a lovely ~140 damage this round. I am suggesting Light Screen on all but dragonair since: a) Dragonair is nice tank and won't need it iirc; b) Baleful hex and shadow bolt volley will be a hassle if they happen to hit garde (and the other two don't have defenses to like it);

Although I suppose a case for Heal Bell (mostly) and Moonblast (minorly) could be made. Let me know what's on your mind.

Round 2

Even the new swarm of ghosts is easily dispatched, but Necturna surprises Wyrm with an extremely powerful blast of dark energy. Still, the dragon recovers quickly from the blow and pushes the offense along with his team mates. However, this is still not enough to break Necturna's shadowy shield. And to make things more complicated, more ghosts heed to the dark witch's call!

Clearly I am in the process of luck riding.

Wyrm: Roost > Chill

Dragonair: Chill > Chill

I hate to take a breather this round since it is not my style but Dragonair having no way to reliably evade attacks outside of Protect (Evasive Agility and Substitute are banned) really sucks. Even with two chills, a Mega Mence brainwash is an instant death sentence for it. Literally the hardest part at this point is getting Dragonair to keep threat and live. Best case scenario at this point is that Syclant gets brainwashed. Which I hope. Ugh.

I have some fear that we end up being wiped before playing the Bloodlust card. But oh well. I may crunch numbers later to check if there are alternative routes, so until then:

Syclant: Icy Wind - Icicle Spear (both at Necturna)
Gardevoir: Chill - Heal Pulse (Salamence)


I was torn between healing somebody or attacking. Since Salamence dies to two Shadow Bolt Volleys, I went with healing it.

As for if salamence takes threat, we can always play the funny card and use Ally Switch with Gardevoir. Useless if Syclant or Gardevoir are targeted, but if Dragonair is targeted, that Fairy typing will take the hit nicely. And since Brainwashed mon has no special immunity, it should work nicely (that was directed at you zarator...clarifying that would be nice if it isn't that way <_<).


 
NOTE: Frosty if Pokemon 1 uses Ally Switch to switch places with Pokemon 2, and the "Brainwashed" mon was supposed to attack Pokemon 2, the attacker will end up attacking Pokemon 1 but with the attack slate it would have used if it attacked Pokemon 2. Same thing if it was supposed to attack Pokemon 1 instead.

I was on LoA and under no conditions to run calcs on this particular trainwreck. Sorry about that.

I can now, though, so let's resume this.


Worse case scenario (not absolute worst mind you, just a bad scenario involving pin missile and icicle spear rolling 4 hits) Syclant deals:

Gardevoir: 66hp of damage (32en for protect)
Salamence: 130hp of damage (59en for protect)
Dragonair: 66hp of damage (32en for protect)

If pin missile or icicle spear aren't picked:

Gardevoir: 45hp of damage (25en for protect)
Salamence: 101hp of damage (47en for protect)
Dragonair: 45hp of damage (25en for protect)


Since Syclant is faster than all, Protect is our only hope. somewhat. For salamence only endure works.

Assuming we don't want to take risks, we will need to do:

Gardevoir: Heal Pulse (Salamence)
Salamence: Endure
Dragonair: Protect

After that I really feel we should bloodlust. Its the only chance of having 3 clean actions without brainwash. Syclant is the fastest of them all and has the berry, so it can handle the extra energy needed.

Also, if worst case scenario happens, shadow bolt volley means gardevoir kicks the bucket. We may want to have something up in case that happens.

So I suggest we do something along the lines of:

Gardevoir: Heal Pulse (Salamence) - Hyper Voice
IF Gardevoir has 14.5 or less hp when A2 begins then Helping Hand (Dragonair) A2 [tentative]
Salamence: Endure - Facade (Necturna)
Dragonair: Protect - Smite (Necturna)
Syclant: do nasty things - Bloodlust


After the round with those actions we have around:


Gardevoir:
Hp: KO-52
En: KO-16

Syclant:
Hp: 28
En: 36

Salamence:
Hp: 5-39
En: 6

Dragonair:

After that Icicle Spear + Icicle Spear + Headbutt + Facade + Luster Strike + Holy Fire deal 272hp for the kill. And unless we get really luckfucked we have an actual good shot and winning this I think.


But recheck it as I probably forgot important stuff.
