"Come one, come all, welcome to the grand reopening of the Cinnabar Island Museum of Natural History!"

You enter the museum. Fairly spaceous building. Very tall. But crowded. There are a large number of exhibits scattered throughout the museum. Many of them showing fossils and skeletal Remains of pokemon.

A heavily bearded man approaches you. For some reason he is wearing costume wings that look like part of a gargoyle statue.

"You look different from the others here. You don't happen to be a Trainer on his journey to become a pokemon master?"

"You have come to the right place if you are looking for a gym battle. I am akela, gym leader of this gym... that I lead. You will need to come with me to reach the arena. We have a special location in this building for battles, where the average tourist cannot go. We used to not have one. Until that fateful day where the children of Pallette Town were squashed into jelly by a rock throw. Bloody kids. You would think they'd see a battle going on and by age eleven they'd know to stay out of the way, wouldn't you? Maybe that's why they didn't go on the journey. Too daff to survive."

"Now where was I? Oh yes, we need to walk to a specially cordoned off portion of the building that is cordoned off. Or we can ride Sigmund? I prefer to walk myself, I don't need Sigmund getting tired before the battle."

As you reach the arena, you first wonder why the gym leader constantly spoke in a redundant manner. Ordinarily, you would ignore such a speech pattern, but after a ten minute conversation you wanted to strangle the bastard... if you could find his neck underneath his beard. Second thing that came to mind was this arena looks just like the rest of the museum, only behind a flimsy looking iron gate. Then you fall flat on your face. Why? You spent all that time wondering that you were unable to see the five foot drop. That bastard gym leader could have at least put some stairs or a ramp in.

*chortle*

"It happens."

"I see that look in your eye. You are wondering 'How in the blue hell is this an arena? This looks just like the rest of the museum!'. Well, when the daffy pallette massacre happened we figured we couldn't just tear down the museum construct a memorial. There is not a lot of prime real estate on this island ever since the volcano erupted. I know, it seems heartless. It is. But it does not serve me well to construct a memorial and avenge a museum just because some kids weren't smart enough to avoid getting in between two pokemon battling. Instead, we turned the area into an arena. But, when we are not battling in the arena, it is used as an exhibit layout test layout thing. You will see a number of fossils here in a similar layout positioning to that of the layout positioning in the rest of the museum. I have found an interesting side effect to all of these fossils lying around. Pokemon seem to become stronger when near fossils of similar pokemon. Sure, sure, I could have the layout plans taken down for every battle, but that is too much effort and would take too much time. Would you really want to spend two days taking down the plans every time someone wanted to battle?"

"It also makes it a little harder to avoid attacks. I trust that your pokemon will take care not to damage the exhibits during the battle? It will cost you if they are damaged."

"But enough blabbering on my part. EVERYONE! WE HAVE A CHALLENGER!"

You didn't notice it at first, but there was a rather spaceous hallway nearby. Now that a commotion is coming from that direction, your attention has been drawn to hit. You see what appears to be every single known rock-type in existence. This might not be as easy as you first thought.

"Are you ready?"

Summary:
(1) Pokemon affected by Fossil Items or Old Amber gain the effects of the Fossil Item or Old Amber without holding the Fossil Items or Old Amber. If the Pokemon holds a Fossil Item or Old Amber, the effects will not stack.
(1.1) Mega Aerodactyl does not gain the effects of Old Amber. Aerodactyl holding Aerodactylite gains the effects of Old Amber until it Mega Evolves.
(2) No External Source of Grass or Water.
(3) Permanent Dust Storm. Does one (1) Damage per action to all non-Ground-, Rock-, and Steel-Type pokemon. Reduces the Base Attack Power of Special Attacks on Rock-Type Pokemon by two (2). Does not activate the abilities Sand Force, Sand Rush, or Sand Veil. Other Weathers can be summoned, but abilities affected by those weathers are unaffected due to the Dust in the air.
(3.1) Dust Storm does not prevent items from activating abilities affected by weather (e.g., Roserade holding a Rose Incense would still have an active Leaf Guard, and Kabutops holding a Dome Fossil (or in the case of this arena, being used) would have Swift Swim active).
(4) All Rock-Types without the ability Sturdy gain the ability Sturdy. If they already have the ability Sturdy, they gain the ability Overcoat.

Codifications:
(1) Camouflage changes the user to Normal/Rock-Type.
(2) Secret Power has a 30% chance to Paralyze.
(3) Nature Power becomes Power Gem.

Electric STAB; immune to paralysis status.
[Abilities]
Trace / Magic Guard / Shell Armor

Trace
(Trigger, MoldBreaker affects - No)
When entering into battle, this Pokemon can copy an ability on one of its opponents for 6 EN. This effect only triggers if the ability to be copied is specified when the Pokemon is sent out. The ability remains on the Pokemon for six (6) actions. Wonder Guard cannot be Traced.

Command: Activate Trace (target ability) - 5 En - Replace Trace with the target Ability for six (6) actions. When the copied ability fades, the user regains Trace.

Magic Guard (✓)
(Passive, MoldBreaker affects - No)
This Pokemon is infused with a powerful psycho-electric energy that makes it immune to damage from Spikes, Stealth Rock, Hail, Sandstorm, Leech Seed, Poisoning, Burn, and Partial Trapping moves. It can still attack itself in confusion, but will not take any damage from it. Additionally, the energy protects the Pokemon from its own reckless recoil attacks. Toxic still increases in damage each round, although if Magic Guard is in effect the Pokemon will not suffer any damage. Life Orb recoil is negated.

Shell Armor (Unlocked)

When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.

Face/Off | Kitsunoh (M)
_______________________________

Face/Off was found by Fletchner in a Mysterious Encounter, during a shoot in the pokestar studios. The Director John Woo and Co-Stars John Travolta and Nicolas cage were frightened by this creature who had come into the studio and asked Fletchner to get rid of him. Fletchner comforted the scared Nohface and named him after the movie series.

[Nature]
Jolly (+15% Speed, +19% Accuracy, -1 SpA)

[Type]
Ghost/Steel

Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.

Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

[Abilities]
Frisk / Limber / Cursed Body

Frisk (✓) (Passive, MoldBreaker affects - No)
The Pokemon has intimate knowledge of the opponent's held item and ignores any item-based increases or decreases in damage, BAP and STAB from the opponent's item. This will not block the increase in BAP moves like Acrobatics and Knock Off that incur when an item is or isn't held. Item-Based increase in ranks (Such as from Rare Candy) are not negated by Frisk. The Pokemon will not be affected by Fling or Natural Gift.

Limber (Passive, MoldBreaker affects - Yes)
This Pokemon's body is well trained and immune to paralysis. If the Pokemon with this Ability is Electric-type, this Pokemon's Speed cannot be lowered by any method, including self-inflicted reductions.

Cursed Body (Passive, MoldBreaker affects - No)
When this Pokemon is struck by an opponent's attack, there is a 30% chance that the attack will be disabled for six (6) actions. Only one of the opponent's attacks can be disabled at a time due to Cursed Body. A Pokemon with an attack disabled by Cursed Body cannot have another one disabled by Disable, and vice versa.

ZuZu | Azumarill (F)
_______________________________

ZuZu was extremely pampered by all around her, isn't she adorable? Well that is what everyone thought of her, and she got everything that she asked for. This made her quite adamant, and one day while playing in the field behind her parents' Trainer's House, She chased a Pidgey only to get her self lost in the forest nearby. Fletchling found her all injured from the wild pokemon attacks and nursed her. However he couldn't find any one to claim her. So he took her under his wings and decided to train her to be the best looking Azumarill in the whole world.
[Nature]
Adamant (+1 Atk, -1 SpA)
[Type]
Water / Fairy

Water STAB; Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.

Fairy STAB: -1 EN on non-Fairy typed Nature, Sound, and Scent moves (Stacks with second STAB where applicable). (Nature Power, Natural Gift; Sound Moves; Aromatherapy, Odor Sleuth, Sweet Scent)
[Abilities]
Thick Fat / Huge Power / Sap Sipper

Thick Fat
(Passive, MoldBreaker affects - Yes)
This Pokemon has a great deal of extra fat or muscle that increases its resistance to extreme heat or extreme cold, reducing the type effectiveness of Fire- and Ice-typed attacks to the next level of resistance (2x weak becomes neutral, neutral becomes resistance, etc.)

Huge Power (✓)
(Passive, MoldBreaker affects - No)
This Pokemon has immense inner strength that grows with its development, raising its Attack and its Base Rank Total by one Rank for each evolution level (first of three stages = 1, first of two stages or second of three stages = 2, fully evolved = 3). If Skill Swapped, the swapped Pokemon's Attack and Base Rank Total is only raised by one Rank.

Sap Sipper (UnLocked)
(Passive, MoldBreaker affects - Yes)
This Pokemon lives on a steady diet of plants and has developed defenses to every Grass-type attack. When attacked with a Grass-type move, damage and effects are negated and the Pokemon gains a one (1) stage boost to its Attack and natural Attack stage.

It seems that sometimes, type advantage trumps second order. This is one such time, as Aurorus is swiftly beaten down with 4x SE attacks. However, Kitsunoh and Gallade are slowed and akela gets to choose his sendout now. Besides, it's only the first round so the match could still go either way.

akela decides to bring his Stratagem to field...

Kitsunoh decides to start with Endure and survive in the field... Stratagem hits Kitsunoh with Earth Power that hits super effectively... However Kitsunoh's Cursed Body disabled his Earth Power... Carracosta uses Earthquake on whole field... Stratagem evades the move due to his Levitate... Kitsunoh gets hit super effectively again... Gallade was hit critically causing damage even greater than Kitsunoh... Gallade now tried to change the field by using Skill Swap... First, he took Carracosta's Overcoat for no ability... Next he exchanged his partner's Frisk for this newly gained Overcoat so Kitsunoh evades from hail and Gallade evades from Life Orb damage... Lastly he gave his useless ability Justified to Stratagem while taking his Mold Breaker who has a lot of use...

Later Stratagem started with Heat Wave... It hit Kitsunoh super effectively but he endured at 1 HP... Gallade was second time hit by a critical hit... Carracosta tried using Earth Power on Kitsunoh which literally did no damage as Kitsunoh endure at 1 HP but it did reduce Kitsunoh's Special Defense... Next up, Kitsunoh used Meteor Mash on Stratagem dealing a lot of damage... At last, Gallade showed up using Drain Punch which hit Critically on Stratagem dealing Super Effective Damage and also healing a huge amount of Energy...

In later round, Stratagem started with Flamethrower as his Earth Power was disabled which dealt no damage again due to Endure of Kitsunoh... Carracosta again used Earthquake... Stratagem evaded it due to Levitate and Kitsunoh endured it... Gallade did get a little damage... Kitsunoh now having least damage used the most beneficial move, Pain Split on Stratagem... Stratagem lost a lot of HP while Kitsunoh gained the same... At last, Gallade showed up using Drain Punch on Stratagem finishing him off and gaining again a lot of HP...

It seems like Gale Wing Srock is dedicated to win this as he defeated 2 Pokemon on akela easily while losing nothing... But akela still have his tactics in his pockets which might turn the tables to him...

Aggron @ Expert Belt

Oh, and before I forget, the arena grants Rock-Types without the ability Sturdy the ability Sturdy. If a Rock-Type has Sturdy, it gets the ability Overcoat. Yes, if Sturdy/Overcoat was Skill Swapped away, the Rock-Type would get that ability due to the arena's effects after the ability was Skill Swapped away.

Akela, I spoke to the Gym Committee and I think there is a difference of perspective.
[08:26] <Gale> akela, do you mean rock types gain the ability Sturdy / Overcoat immediately after they are skill swapped. Or if they switch out and enter again?
[08:26] <Gale> Immediately getting the ability is too OP I think
[08:27] <akela> The arena grants Rock-Types those abilities.
[08:27] <akela> Rock-Types do not lose those abilities.
[08:27] <akela> For as long as they are Rock-Type.
[08:27] <Gale> Hmm, it makes sense flavor wise. But it is like even if the pokemon is affected by Gastro Acid
[08:28] <Gale> They get those abilities back?
[08:28] <akela> If a Greninja used a damaging Rock-Type maneuver, it would gain the ability Sturdy while it is rock-type.
[08:28] <Gale> Hmm
[08:29] <akela> Gastro Acid does not remove the ability from the Rock-Type.
[08:33] <Gale> Hmm okay, thanks akela
[08:33] <akela> Think of it like Roserade holding Rose Incense.

[10:31] <Gale> It should be possible after a switch
[10:31] <Stratos> i just imagined it as another ability on the ability slash list
[10:31] <Gale> But not immediately after
[10:31] <Stratos> and it behaved like any normal ability

[17:53] <dogfish44> There's a difference between an ability being granted, and an ability's effect being granted. Akela's is the former, and should be prone to Gastro Acid.

[20:53] <Gale> So how did they work?
[20:54] <elevator_afk> i dont know if itd ever actually come up before, but i was always under the impression that pokemon wouldn't "regain" abilities granted from these type of effects
[20:55] <elevator_afk> gonna be honest i dont think it matters too much though
Will work on the orders sometime tomorrow.

akela started by using its bulky Aggron...

As Aggron went in, he started by boosting his defense bulk with higher priority and also causing recoil to other with Iron Defense... Kitsunoh still used his contact move Endeavor on Aggron which doesn't matter on bulk but depends on health and hence gave a huge damage while taking part of its damage too... Kitsunoh was very exhausted after this... Carracosta used Rain Dance to remove Hail and boost its water moves... Gallade strikes Carracosta with four times super effective move Leaf Blade which dealt a huge damage...

Aggron again used Iron Defense to boost its bulk it bulk... Only if he had known that when Kitsunoh would use four times super effective move Low Kick with huge damage would Crit and ignore all boostings, things would had been better... After this move Aggron's health was very low and Kitsunoh fainted due to heavy exhaustion... Carracosta used his boosted Scald on Gallade hoping burn which didn't happen... At the end, Gallade used Low Kick on low healthy Aggron which made Aggron survive on threads... Even he took some recoil but it was worth it...

In the end, Carracosta used a boosted Brine on Gallade and Aggron supported him with his Double Edge... Gallade finished Aggron with his Low Kick... But he also fainted in the exhaustion...

Gale Wing Srock is on a very highly state... Aggron went doing no damage... Kitsunoh and Gallade took down 3 Pokemon and half of forth Pokemon alone...And Gale Wing Srock has 3 more Pokemon after them while akela has only 1 and half left... Its seems like its game...

Black Heart,

I think Aggron is KO'd by Gallade's Low Kick on action 3, and Gallade faints? This also means that Carracosta has more HP left at the end of the round. I will send in after the calc confirmation. Updated the orders.

Gale Wing Srock sent his Rock and Grass type Cradily which gets Rock benefits and hits hard from Grass moves as well as Krilowatt which does great on the water side... akela on the other hand sent his Dragon Rock Tyrantrum to take neutral damages from it...

As soon as Cradily and Krilowatt entered they lost some health from Stealth Rocks...

Krilowatt being the fastest started with Surf hitting Tyrantrum and critically hitting Carracosta while increasing Cradily's Special Attack... Good Strategy... Tyrantrum use Ice Fang on Cradily doing decent amount of damage and also flinching Cradily... Carracosta used Ice Beam dealing nice damage on Cradily... Cradily was unable to move due to flinch...

Again, Krilowatt started with Surf, hitting Tyrantrum and Cradily and increasing Cradily's Special Attack... Tyrantrum started with Earthquake... Since Carracosta was already on verge of extinction he decided to wrap him with Earthquake which also did good damage on Cradily and super effective damage on Krilowatt... Cradily in the end used Pain Split which shared the pain with Tyrantrum making him lose health and Cradily gain the same...

Krilowatt again used Surf for third time dealing damage to Tyrantrum and also giving Special Attack boost to Cradily... Tyrantrum used Ice Fang on Cradily hoping for hax which didn't happen... At last, Cradily used a huge boosted Grass Knot Combination move on Tyrantrum... However, Tyrantrum survived on threads...

It seem like one touch and Tyrantrum is down... I'd say its game...
