I think we can use NFEs, but they don't have access to Eviolite so there is rarely a reason to use them, except in some cases (e.g. Magenton gives a higher Speed Stat than Magnezone)

Edit: In this case it seems to be in order to have access to Rock Head over Solid Rock

That would give me options then, I don't mind not having access to eviolite.

In any case Magnezone/Magneton can't be used though, genderless.

Correct. Numel gives Simple where Camerupt gives better stats. Scyther gives more Speed while Scizor gives more Attack and bulk. Shelgon grants better Defense and Rock Head while Salamence brings more well-rounded offense and Speed plus Intimidate. There are subtle nuances between prevos and evos.
