Terrakion @ Life Orb
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Quick Attack / Substitute

A simple change of Nature from Jolly to Adamant turns Mega Venusaur, which is a safe-switch-in to Terrakion, running away as it fears a OHKO from +2 Stone Edge after Stealth Rock damage. This change also allows Terrakion to blow away it's defensive switch-ins such as Slowbro, Hippowdon, TankChomp, Gliscor and Skarmory, while dealing huge damage to Mega Altaria and Landorus-Therain. However, Adamant nature leaves Terrakion outpaced by max Speed positive nature based 100s (of which there are few as standard base 100s such as Volcarona and Zard-X run 184 Spe, a benchmark which still allows Adamant Terrakion to outspeed them). Quick Attack may be weak but it can also pick off weakened fast threats such as Latios and Mega Alakazam.

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Psychic

MVenu is commonly used as a Thundurus counter, however it cannot switch into a LO Psychic:

252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus Psychic vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Venusaur: 213-252 (58.5 - 69.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Alternatively you can run this to OHKO Mega Venusaur after a boost:

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Flying]
-
Focus Blast / Thunder Wave / Taunt

Both sets have their uses though.

Gyarados @ Gyaradosite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Speed
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Bounce
-
Dragon Dance

With Bounce over Ice Fang Gyara has a little over 50% chance to 2hko MVenu after SR which could actually be clutch in most cases
Bounce does just a bit more than Crunch does and everytime you Bounce you give Mega Venusaur an opportunity to Synthesis or Giga Drain (didnt' calc but assuming bounce won't 2hko with giga drain recovery included) So I wouldn't call this a lure

Psyshic Manaphy is standard btw

Clefable (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
IVs: 30 SAtk / 30 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Ground]/Flamethrower
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled

The Master of the worst cteams is here, Smogon! The pokemon I'm gonna show you is a very little known variant of Clefable, pokemon that it's one of the most commons in ORAS OU, with its defensive sets. What people overlook, is that Clefable has an extraordinary coverage, which allows it to have access to Tbolt, Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Focus Blast, Psychic, Signal Beam. Shadow Ball, Hidden Powers of various types, Moon Blast...
For this reason I decided to post this set, which lures heavily its supposed to be counters, while cleaning the field for a sweeper. For example, this Clefable could work really good with Mega Sableye, since it damages heavily heatran with HP Ground (2hko) or also with Sub CM Keldeo or Drum Azumarill, since it deals a heavy 2hko to saur. And also, Saur + Heatran is a core that is very common, and they are generally seen togheter.

- 252+ SpA Life Orb Clefable Psychic vs. 232 HP / 0 SpD Mega Venusaur: 192-229 (53.4 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Sylveon @ Maranga Berry
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 128 Def / 100 SpA / 36 SpD
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Baton Pass / Rest
- Calm Mind
- Stored Power

And this is my idea of luring Mega-Venusaur. The HP Evs and the Def Evs are for the bulk. With the Modest Nature and 100 Evs in SpA this Pokèmon can 2HKO Mega-Venusaur after a Calm Mind boost + Maranga Berry activation. It's obviously slower than Mega-Venusaur because this lure needs Maranga Berry activation. Baton Pass is here because maybe I can pass the boosts at another Pokèmon that benefits this boosts. Hyper Voice is the STAB,too much important for Sylveon to drop it for Wish/another move. It's very frail this Sylveon version, indeed if you want to keep this Pokèmon alive, you can drop Baton Pass for Rest. Calm Mind must be used when you predict Venusaur switch in.

Here the calcs:
0 SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. +1 248 HP / 36 SpD Sylveon: 120-144 (30.5 - 36.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+1 100+ SpA Sylveon Stored Power (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Venusaur: 192-228 (52.7 - 62.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Landorus-Therian @ Soft Sand
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 220 Atk / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance

This is an underrated set that is very effective at punching holes on the opponent's team once it attains the right boost. Grab a Swords Dance when Venusaur switch in and laugh as it dies to a +2 Earthquake after Rocks. You can often do this because the Defensive set and Choice Scarf set does not threaten Venusaur at all so it will often think it is safe to come in. Rock Polish can be used if you are facing a frail offensive team and the power is not needed.

0 SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-T: 117-138 (35.1 - 41.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+2 220+ Atk Earth Plate Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Mega Venusaur: 288-339 (79.1 - 93.1%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

EDIT: If the opponent is using the Defensive Venusaur listed in the Dex, then the OHKO is guaranteed since the standard set sacrifices some physical bulk for special bulk (You even have a 25% chance to OHKO without Rocks!).

+2 220+ Atk Soft Sand Landorus-T Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 96+ Def Mega Venusaur: 322-379 (88.4 - 104.1%) -- 25% chance to OHKO

Raikou @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Thunderbolt
- Extrasensory

Raikou is usually walled by Grass-type like Ferrothorn, Mega-Venusaur and Amoonguss. Howewer, with Extrasensory and a Choice Specs, Raikou can lure the two lasts.

252 SpA Choice Specs Raikou Extrasensory vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Venusaur: 206-244 (56.5 - 67%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I looked at the usage of may and Extrasensory has 8,5% of usage. Furthermore, Choice Specs is not the most common item, so I think it is rare enough to be called a lure. (Howewer, Extrasensory was common in XY )

Sooo Week 4 is now over! Before posting our new guest star for week 5 of our Lure that Threat i really would like to thank everyone of you guys.
I really appreciated your efforts to keep this thread alive even if i've been inactive for a while and i'm also really really glad and honored to see that every last one of you guys and gals understood the real meaning of a thread like this, which means true poke-research due to improve our personal skills AND, possibly, the whole tier itself!

Now then, let's jump right ahead on week 5! Our " victim " is....

Scizor @ Scizorite

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog

Scizor is often used as a swicthin to Latios, but:

252 SpA Life Orb Latios Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 286-338 (83.3 - 98.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

and BP obviously don't OHKO from full.

Conkeldurr @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 12 HP / 252 Atk / 244 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch/Superpower
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
- Fire Punch/Poison Jab

Mega Scizor can take any move that Conkeldurr usually carries, but Sheer Force LO Fire Punch is a guaranteed OHKO on bulky SD M-Zor. A good alternative is Superpower, which 2HKOs Scizor after rocks damage even with -1 Atk (this spread outspeeds so Conk can hit it again before it uses Roost).

252+ Atk Life Orb Sheer Force Conkeldurr Fire Punch vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 437-515 (127.4 - 150.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ Atk Life Orb Conkeldurr Superpower vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 199-235 (58 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

- Leaf Storm / Giga Drain

- Hidden Power [Fire]

cool lure for scizor, as its one of the more common switch-ins to scizor on offense/balance. good partner for dd m-alt in, luring in venu, sciz, and ferro.

252 SpA Life Orb Celebi Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 176 SpD Mega Scizor: 239-286 (69.6 - 83.3%)

^ Sigh, literally 4 seconds late. Oh well.

Gonna take the watmel berry azumarill then.

Azumarill @ Watmel Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 48 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 204 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Natural Gift
- Waterfall
- Play Rough

Bulky mega scizor makes a pretty good check to azumarill so scizor is generally safe switch-in against it. Thats where this set becomes a successful lure to it, natural gift with a watmel berry provides azumarill with a 100 bp fire move. It kills mega scizor with no prior damage.

252+ Atk Watmel Berry Huge Power Azumarill Natural Gift (100 BP Fire) vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 360-424 (104.9 - 123.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

EVs to outspeed this scizor variant so it doesnt knock off your item, which would be really sad if it happens.

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 16 Atk / 252 SpA / 240 Spe
Mild Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Fire

Without HP Fire, Kyurem-B is unable to 3HKO M-Scizor even after SR and is complete setup fodder against it. However, HP Fire can be used on a predicted switch to OHKO M-Scizor after SR (or without them if you feel lucky enough) before getting hit hard by Bullet Punch. It's inportant to hit M-Scizor on the switch as even though Bullet Punch is only a 2HKO, Kyurem-B will be greatly damaged by it, not to mention the two additional LO recoils that'll leave it even more crippled (and even KOed if SR are up).
252+ SpA Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 82-97 (23.9 - 28.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock
20 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Outrage vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 91-108 (26.5 - 31.4%) -- 35.5% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
20 Atk Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 101-120 (29.4 - 34.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Earth Power vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 110-130 (32 - 37.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

44 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 212-252 (54.2 - 64.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+2 44 Atk Technician Mega Scizor Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Kyurem-B: 422-498 (107.9 - 127.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Teravolt Kyurem-B Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 291-348 (84.8 - 101.4%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO (87.5% chance to OHKO after SR)

Diancie @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 32 Atk / 224 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Fire

Scizor will almost always switch into Diancie because it can take the other 3 attacks, and then BOP it with Bullet Punch. Losing Protect is a bit unconventional, but it'll be able to deal massive damage to Mega Scizor on the switch. It has a high chance to 1HKO Scizor before it Mega Evolves with Stealth Rocks.

232 SpA Mega Diancie Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 248-296 (72.3 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

232 SpA Mega Diancie Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Scizor: 292-344 (85.1 - 100.2%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

232 SpA Mega Diancie Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Scizor: 292-344 (85.1 - 100.2%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 24 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

- Psyshock
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp/Hidden Power Fire

Will-O-Wisp 17.012% |Hidden Power Fire 4.555%
As per 1695 stats.

Scizor is normally a great mega gard switch in with focus blast not doing enough to 2hko. Thus it normally switches in fine. Hidden power fire lets you easily ohko it. It also hits other steels you struggle with. You don't have to worry about focus blast accuracy either. You could also just use wisp to cripple it and other steels. Sure Heatran now walls you, but there are plenty of good heatran switchins you can slap on a team.

Taunt is there to still deal with stall.

This week will probably be 90% HP Fire lures and 10% Wisp lures, and I won't be an exception of that.

Reuniclus @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Trick Room
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast / Shadow Ball

Mega Scizor can easily switch in against CM Reuniclus and start boosting its attack while Reuniclus will not be able to beat Scizor 1v1:
+1 4 SpA Reuniclus Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 130-153 (37.9 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+4 44 Atk Mega Scizor Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Reuniclus: 530-624 (125 - 147.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

However, with Trick Room, Reuniclus will be able to outspeed Mega Scizor and ohko with HP Fire after Stealth Rock damage. While Focus Blast also has a nice chance to 2hko Mega Scizor, Reuniclus will fail to beat Mega Scizor in a 1v1 situation and the chances to win without HP Fire are even lower when you consider the fact that rocks must be up and any miss with Focus Blast (which happens over 50% of the time with 2 focus blasts) will stop Reuniclus.

Dragalge @ Choice Specs
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 224 HP / 252 SpA / 32 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Sludge Wave
- Hidden Power Fire
- Scald

Scizor resists Dragalge's dual STABs and can set-up on its Choice-locked moves. However, Hidden Power Fire allows Dragalge to turn the tables around and one-shot it instead. This also allows Dragalge to hit Jirachi, Bisharp and Ferrothorn super-effectively. Scald is used to land a stronger hit on Heatran as well as having a 30% 100% chance to burn Mega Metagross and Klefki, Dragalge's most common switch-ins. It can also burn Scizor if you're lucky.

Back to the Fire (Landorus-Therian) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 200 Def / 48 SpA / 12 Spe
Rash Nature
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- U-turn/ Stone Edge / Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

Due to this set's insane bulk, Scizor is able to set up on defensive Lando-T but thanks to HP Fire I can lure it easily. Btw this set is designed to lure ferrothorn but it also works for mega scizor.

Calcs:
48+ SpA Landorus-T Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 172-204 (50.1 - 59.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

48+ SpA Landorus-T Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 160-192 (45.4 - 54.5%) -- 55.9% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Gyarados (M) @ Cheri Berry
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Natural Gift
- Bounce

Natural Gift Cheri Berry allows this Gyarados to easily beat SD Mega Scizor if Scizor switches in to any move, as shown below:
252+ Atk Gyarados Natural Gift vs. 248 HP / 16+ Def Mega Scizor: 252-300 (73.4 - 87.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The best part about the set is that, outside luring M-Scizor, Ferrothorn and other Steel-type, it also has another legitimate use: preventing paralysis via the use of Cheri Berry(which can also be used to fake a Mega Gyara set)

Metagross-Mega @ Metagrossite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

I swear I'm not trying to single you out but how is Manaphy even a Mega Scizor lure? Hell, Manaphy literally beats Mega Scizor effortlessly because of Scald burns and the fact that a +3 Scald does upward 70% meaning it 2HKOes, while Mega Scizor does close to nothing back, as Manaphy resists Bullet Punch and Knock Off doesn't too much.

Alright so I know and appreciate that Mega Scizor doesn't 100% counter Mega Altaria because of Fire Blast, but it does beat normal offensive variants. Here's Cotton Guard Altaria o_o

Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Atk / 76 Def / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Return
- Roost
- Cotton Guard

"Innovative" set that Style kinda invented but it was like the first Mega Altaria set I used all the way back at the start of ORAS OU o_o but I wasn't famous so lol. Anyways, Mega Altaria aims to set up Cotton Guard so that Mega Scizor is incapable of breaking past it via Bullet Punch, and then Dragon Dance so that Return 2HKOes at +3. Definitely can't switch into Mega Scizor but Mega Scizor can't halt its sweep. EVs are customized so that 44 Atk Mega Scizor fails to 2HKO with Bullet Punch when both Mega Altaria and Mega Scizor are unboosted, 28 Speed means Mega Altaria outspeeds Mega Lopunny and Mega Manectric at +2, and 164 Attack means +3 Return OHKOes after Stealth Rock.

Fire Blast on Dragon Dance Mega Altaria / normal Mega Altaria viable as well.
