[DYAE R1] zarator vs Ragnarokalex

The Rules said:
- 3v3 Singles.
- 3 Day DQ Time. Each player has two DQ warnings a match. Go over DQ thrice, you will be DQed. Unless, of course, you post a LoA, in which case you'll have more time. Do have in mind that I want these two round to be fast, so G0LD (that's me!) and I WILL give a DQ warning if you go over DQ and we WILL DQ you if you go over DQ thrice. If your battle has has not ended in a month, DQ time will be reduced to 2 days. If it has not finished in 1 and a half month, the hosts will decide who wins based on who played better.
- Infinite Recoveries/Chills per Pokémon.
- Two Substitutions per player excluding KO Substitutions.
- 0 Mega Evolutions
- Switch = OK
- Abilities = ALL
- Items = ON
- Arena: ASB Tournament Arena
- MID-BATTLE EVOLUTION IS FORBIDDEN
Welcome, one and all, to the first round of DYAE. Today we will be watching the fight between zarator and Ragnarokalex. I'm not one for opening fluff, but I'll say that zarator is the Ghost-Type gym leader we have here in capasb, and when he's not cursing challengers in his arena, he harbors a bit of a superstition against him of his own, being notorious for his track record in tournaments so far. Ragnarokalex, on the other hand, is a veteran battler who has been here for quite a while now, barring a leave or two, and is certainly capable of winning this bout.

That's enough of that for today, so let's get to the teams.

I'd say that one would have to be wary of Trevenant, here. The resident ent matches up quite well against (arguably) 2/3 or RAlex's team, and by no means is fairing too badly against Sylveon, either.

Ragnarokalex 's team:

Swampert Male
Nature:
Adamant
Type:
Water: STAB; Ignores arena restrictions on Water attacks that require an external water source. Evasive Diving reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
Ground: STAB; immune to Sandstorm. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.

Abilities:
Torrent:
Type: Passive
When this Pokemon’s HP is lower than 33%, the Base Attack Power of any water attack is increased by two (2). (eg Water Pulse goes from 6 to 8, Hydro Pump from 12 to 14)
Damp:
Type: Passive
This Pokemon releases a damp mist upon entry into battle that short circuits the opponent's ability to use Self-Destruct or Explosion.

Sylveon Female
Nature:
Modest
Type:
Fairy: STAB: The consecutive move usage penalty for using damaging Fairy-type moves is reduced to two (2) from four (4).

Abilities:
Cute Charm:
Type: Passive
This Pokemon’s natural cuteness causes Pokemon of the opposite gender to be attracted to it 30% of the time after striking with a contact move.
Pixilate:
Type: Passive
By default, this Pokemon's Normal-type moves are Fairy-type moves, and have an additional two (2) BAP boost. When toggled, this Pokemon's Normal-type attacks have their BAP increased by two (2). Only Normal-typed moves changed by Pixilate receive this boost, and not all Fairy-type moves. If a Pokemon has been skill-swapped multiple abilities that change Normal-type attacks, the attacks become dual-typed, but the BAP boosts of the abilities do not stack.

Swoobat Female
Nature:
Timid
Type:
Psychic: STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Flying: STAB: immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.

Abilities:
Unaware:
Type: Passive
When this Pokemon is released, a light aura enshrouds the opponent, nullifying all stat boosts or reductions other than Speed, it remains while this Pokemon is active.
Klutz:
Type: Passive
By default, the Pokemon moves in a rare style of battling that uses an unpredictable, clumsy looking manner. The accuracy of its attacks is increased by 10% (flat). While engaging in this style it cannot use a hold item, though an item is necessary to pull it off. When toggled, there is no effect.
Simple:
Type: Passive
This Pokemon innately exaggerates the effect of stat boosts and drops to the point where they have double the effectiveness and thus double the stage modifier (e.g. Swords Dance boosts Attack by four (4) stages, Bulk Up boosts Attack and Defense by two (2) stages each). Stat boosts and drops still maximize at six (6) stages.

Look out for Swampert, here. Swampert is the best water/ground type Pokemon ever made, and that will ever be made #nobias a formidable Pokemon with a nice bag of tricks, and if played right, and with Trevenant in mind, it could do a decent bit work, I'd think.

But, then again, these are all the ramblings of a crazy unorthodox player, here, so take what I've said with a grain of salt.

And now, finally, the Coinflip. Heads will mean zarator sends first, and tails Ragnarokalex.

Let the fight commence. Both trainers choose strong mons to lead with. zarator has chosen his Staraptor, while Ragnarokalex has opted to send a personal favorite of mine, Swampert. RAlex orders Swampert to sling stones at Staraptor, but the avian creature dodges them with relative ease. Swampert then switches gears by throwing down a sturdier breed of rock, and Staraptor takes this opportunity to send a gale force wind down stream, buffeting the mudskipper, and eventually returning it to its Pokeball, but not before it tries once more to bombard its winged foe with rocks, which the latter evades once more.

Staraptor Intimidates Swampert.

Things are pretty busy for me, and likely won't die down for the next couple days. I'm chipping away at my to-do list, but might need some extra time.

Nope, I'm not sure at all. But since bouncing a phazing move is like using one, and since IAR agreed, I wrote that ralex orders first. But no, not sure. Fee free to get a convincing answer.

well I would have assumed that bouncing a move and using a move were different, like how the user pays the energy cost as opposed to the bouncer. It's like if you phazed one of your mons in doubles, it isnt the target that determines who goes first, its the user and I feel that bouncing it like that just forces him to target himself with the move as opposed to being me using the move. Anyway, its not really a big deal, if someone else would like to weigh in on it, Ill get orders for this up later tonight.

Fake Out - Knock Off - U-turn
If Swoobat uses Stored Power and you're faster, replace your respective action with Bounce (the first time), Agility [evasive] (the second time), or Bounce (the third time), pushing back actions every time.
If Swoobat uses Thunder Wave and you're faster, replace your respective action with Substitute (15 HP) and push your actions back. Do not use this substitution more than once.
