Most frustrating pokemon moments!

I was grinding my Shinx in my new run of Pearl, and watching TV. I look up for a second, and I don't know what I did but I accidentally hit the Home button and exited the game. I had gotten that little thing to level 10, and I started at level 4. My parents stared at me when I did this. "NO! I'M SUCH AN IDIOT!" But I did recover the levels. :3

Something similar, but larger has happened to me. While I was playing Pokemon Pearl I think last year, I was at the lake near Snowpoint city. Then I go to sleep and forget to put my nintendo on the charger: it is off when I wake up. When I start the game again I was back in Canalave, meaning I had to do all the lake quests again and travel to Snowpoint City. This pissed me off enough to just restart the game.

I lost an hour of progress in a Fire Red Nuzloke because of a spark from static electricity freezing the game. I wasn't angry, but when I tried to recreate my progress (including my Vaporeon's death when capturing Snorlax) it just felt grindy and I lost the will to continue the Nuzloke.

Ugh, I was playing PMD red rescue team and I was in the dungeon with Lugia at the bottom (silver sea or something, I can't recall its name right now). I was destroying everything in the dungeon with my overleveled Charizard and everything was easy going. Until dewgong. It was one of the later floors of the dungeon when I came into a monster house. I swept the room for the most part with heat wave (except for the few mons it missed) and proceeded to kill the rest with the default move. While this was happening a dewgong was firing off shear colds and missing, I didn't deal with him right away because I figured the OHKO mechanics were the same as the regular games. Then BAM. Shear cold hit and I was sent back to the home base. I was so mad I didn't pick up the game for at least a year.

X Maison Singles, Battle No. 18. My team was Mega Scizor, Drapion, and Articuno. The opposition had a Magcargo.
First up, Magcargo vs Scizor. I have the type disadvantage, but I also have STAB Iron Head and STAB Technician Bullet Punch. I easily outspeed and go for the Iron Head, which knocks off about 60% health.
Then the Magcargo uses Double Team. My Bullet Punch, which would have KO'd, missed, and the Magcargo OHKO'd with Lava Plume. I sent in Drapion and revenge killed the Magcargo, but next they send in a Sharpedo that had Earthquake. There goes Drapion. Finally, I send in Articuno, but lose them to a critical Dark Pulse. I lost my 17-win streak because of Double Team and a SB Sharpedo. FML.

My own Rescue Team experience: just taking a leisurely stroll through Frosty Forest with a escortee, when suddenly...Piloswine used Powder Snow!

I remember one time during platinum I didn't know where the hell I was going and got trapped in a SINGLE AREA, I was also a dumb pokemon player, only using my infernape, getting it to level 84, then, one my friend came over, she show me what to do, and them i could just sweep everything with my infernape, and that was the only pokemon I used, so all my others were at like, 20-30, and I also had a gyrados I used from time to time which was around level 54.

Defeating palkia instead of catching itabd then that stupid farmer not allowing me to go the next city for like one year (after that time he somehow stopped bugging me. No idea why since i've never bothered to find it out). I hate that farmer!

I was searching for some rare items held by wild Pokemon, and thought how cool it would be to have a dedicated Compound Eyes Thief Pokemon.

Following this, I bred a flawless Adamant Yanma egg with the right nature, was lucky enough to get it shiny hatched, and gave it a complete EV training. I then proceeded to level it up to Lv. 60 and evolve it into Yanmega, considering it had a noticeably higher attack stat and the ability to hit even resistant targets with a powerful Tinted Lense Thief.

After one entire week of preparation, I was finally ready to try out my new Yanmega, but the first test run revealed that it didn't really speed up my chances of finding held items at all: somehow, I had completely overlooked the fact that Yanmega looses Compound Eyes upon evolution, even when instinctively considering Tinted Lense...

Ever since, I was much too frustrated to go through all that effort yet again, so at the moment I'm forced to use one of my untrained Modest Yanmas as replacement...

Haha, way back I had something similar. It was also a shiny Pokemon. I didn't realize Shellder learns Icicle Spear by level up, and Cloyster doesn't. I think you can already guess the rest of the story.

Traded hard-to-evolve Pokemon like Rhydon and Dragonite from my FireRed to my Ruby. Connection error. Pokemon Ruby's save file got deleted.

When you're in game on XY or ORAS, and you want to add a friend.
You press the home button and you go to you friend list. You press 'register friend' and then you click 'internet'. But then the bullshitting begins.
"You cannot use Internet Registration because you're not online."

Me: "What? I am online. I was online on ORAS two seconds ago. It even says I'm connected to the internet in the top left corner of my screen. Okay let's try again".

"You cannot use Internet Registration because you're not online."

Me: "Okay, again."

"You cannot use Internet Registration because you're not online."

Me: "COME ON."

"You cannot use Internet Registration because you're not online."

Me: "WHAT THE SHIT IS THIS."

"You cannot use Internet Registration because you're not online."

Me: "Okay, I'll just close this menu and try again. I don't see why this would work though, but let's just try.."

And then it works.

This isn't particularly limited to Pokemon, but I don't play other online games on my DS. And maybe I'm the only one experiencing this, idek.

More Mystery Dungeon goodness. It's the postgame now, and I'm doing an escort in Mount Faraway. I reach the third floor, one of those random weather floors. The weather roll comes up hail.

I will never do an escort mission again, no matter how many points it's worth.

After losing all of my Pokemon except a level 17 Magikarp against that bitch May in my first Nuzlocke, I'm stuck grinding it against level 8 Pokemon to evolve it into a Gyarados and be able to carry on with my run. I could rebattle some early route trainers, but after narrowly winning against a level 12 Zigzagoon on Route 102 I'm not sure my Karp is strong enough for those.

It'll be worth it man. As soon as it evolves into a Gyarados it will have a huge power spike and you'll murk every single team.

I know, especially since mine happens to be Jolly which is awesome. I just hate grinding with a passion. Which is probably the reason I lost all my other Pokemon already.

Not giving up though. Me killing May's Combusken with a Magikarp Tackle when everything else was gone is reason enough to continue.

Yeah, I would have been completely screwed had it been below level 15.

Got my Gyarados now, and it is indeed kicking ass. I'm pretty worried about Wattson now though, who's coming up soon.

I've been trying to get a Whismur with HP/Att/SpA, so that I can get an Exploud with STAB Boomburst. Thanks to EV training, Whismur's search level is 228. Unfortunately, Whismur refuses to show up on the DexNav in the Rusturf Tunnel.

Pokemon platinum nuzlocke, a little tougher than the usual nuzlocke with a few extra rules (set mode, level limit and no items in-battle). I had just beaten the third gym (i guess it is technically the 4th, as you beat the 5th before the 3rd) when i decided to train my team of ghastly/machoke/meditie/bronzor/monferno/starvia. I eventually hit the level i desired, had a friend help me evolve machoke and haunter, and made my way to pastoria city. I met my rival and he challenged me to a battle. No problem, my team was in great shape! He lead off with his starvia, it's a little higher level than my pokemon, but that's no problem, all my pokemon are relatively strong compared to what you'd expect at that time in the game. I send in bronzor because i know it wont have trouble taking out a weak normal-type pokemon. Starvia uses double team, extrasensory misses, at this moment i knew i was fucked. Starvia sets up it's double teams as i still struggle to even land a single hit on it. I slowly watch my own pokemon fate away to the many weak quik- and wingattacks. I send out my own starvia, begging arceus to spare it's life, however my prayers are of no effect. My next pokemon is machamp, even with his weakness to flying, he should be able to take a hit and deal the finishing blow, and he would, had he been able to hit his target. I'm down to my last three pokemon, i know i have lost, i try to run, he won't let me. I send out monferno, a critical mach punch might just be enough, but no attack seem to land. I send out meditite, begging for a miracle as i watch her join her friends on the other site. I'm down to my last pokemon, gengar, i already know it'll die as well, it can't use any of it's special moves after all. I have no choice, i send him out, with tears in my eyes i press sucker punch, knowing that it will do little damage even if it lands, it wouldn't have mattered either way, as starvia was well hidden between it's clones. I honestly cried after losing this challenge. I had spend so much time simply grinding to get a fair level, and i really liked the pokemon i had. I really thought i'd beat this challenge, and i'm really unsatisfied with the way i lost.

After this i simply quit playing pokemon. I later had a halfhearted attempt at a nuzlocke, but i wasn't enjoying it very much and therefore it wasn't going very well. I don't even know if i'll ever get back to pokemon again.

Battle Tower in Crystal, I lead off with Mewtwo while my opponent has an Exeggutor. I outspeed and Ice Beam the plant for 70% or so damage; he then retaliates with Psychic that does next to nothing. Great, I think, another Ice Beam and he's a goner. But! Somehow, he outspeeds me and Explodes on me, critting and killing my poor psionic mutant.

Frustrated, I run calcs for Exeggutor's speed. There was literally no way it could speed tie with my Mewtwo. Yet somehow he managed to get its death throes before I could kill it. I STILL can't wrap my head around that one.
