So I've decided to quit. Usually, I quit for a few months, and then come back on, but hopefully, by sharing one of my favorite teams, I will be encouraged to stay off.

The idea is to use three Stealth Rock weak Pokemon in conjunction with the Hazard Control core of Diancie and Mew to pave a way for them to sweep through the opponent. Talonflame is the wincondition for this team, setting up a SD and shredding through teams after the rest of the team has weakened its counters. This is not match up reliant and can defeat any team if the player is smart enough to work around the few threats this team has.

The team revolved around Kyu-B, which was huge anti-meta back in XY OU, where stall mainly consisted of M-Venusaur's presence, since Kyu-B's terravolt breaks M-Venu's Thick Fat. Kyu-B also plays as anti-meta to balanced by breaking the common Landorus-T, Rotom-W, and Heatran cores.

Keldeo was added to the mix to break things like Ferrothorn and Chansey, while utilizing Kyu-B's ability to break M-Venu on stall teams, and then using a Specs to break offensive teams (since it's really hard to switch into, assuming I got a safe switch-in, they were forced to sac something under the right coverage move).

At the time this team was built, Genesect was legal in OU, and Band Gene was perfect for picking off weakened offensive teams with Extreme Speed and switching into non-HP Fire Latios, too. Paired with Keldeo and Kyurem-B, the trio became my main win conditions against most teams and hit everything relatively hard.

Landorus-T was my next addition; its bulk and Intimidate are natural clutches to teams, and softened quite a lot of physical sweepers, Talonflame and opposing Banded Genesect in mind, while also providing me with a U-turn core with Genesect and top-notch Stealth Rocks.

Empoleon might seem like a rather unusual addition, but it was actually a rather neat teammate. It helped checked Genesects, since aside from a random Thunderbolt, the common Giga Drain / U-turn / Extreme Speed / Flamthrower sets couldn't touch me. Protect was especially useful, allowing me to scout choice-locked Keldeos, and Toxic was nice for luring things like Rotom-W, Keldeo, etc. while providing me with a second switch-in into Latios. Its special bulk is fierce and not to be understated, and it performs rather well alongside Landorus-T. It also provided me with a rather reliable Defog, and Scald + Toxic + Protect proved to be quite an amazing combination of moves, racking up a lot of unexpected chip damage.

Assault Vest Tornadus-T was not the common pivot it is today, but this is when I first started using it: during the Genesect era in XY OU. See, CBB's Crystalized team was getting popular on the ladder (this was when Alice + CBB were laddering, not when it was RMT'd) and I noticed that M-Venu, Keldeo, and LO Landorus core was rather threatening to my team, and so I decided to add Tornadus to alleviate those weaknesses (their RMT even specifies AVest Torn-T and LO Kyu-B as threats in a meta where it was uncommon; I ran into them quite a lot).

You might notice that this team doesn't carry any mega of any sort! Take that!

Of course, when Genesect got banned, I started using Scizor instead, but with ORAS coming out, and the metagame changing rapidly, I stopped using the team.

Still, I wanted to play with the ideas the team presented, and thus began revising the team for the ORAS OU metagame. I decided to scrap out Keldeo, Empoleon, and Genesect, since their roles have changed in the metagame, although I decided to keep Kyu-B, Tornadus-T, and Landorus-T the same.

Kyurem-B is still an amazing Pokemon to behold, and it does a lot of things well: for starters, it hits balance really hard (Heatran, Rotom-W, and Landorus-T cores are still present), and it hits Slowbro and Amoongus hard. With maximum speed, Kyu-B also jumps retarded Bulky Rocky Helmet Garchomps and OHKOs with Ice Beam (seriously, you should be hitting 290 speed dammit. Stupid users only hitting Jolly Bisharp speeds and not even going up to 270 for Jolly Gyarados).

Landorus-T is an even bigger threat in today's metagame. It stops Sand Rush Excadrills, Talonflames, opposing Landorus-Ts (usually scarf), checks Lopunny, and is relatively a bulky Pokemon with Rocks and U-Turn, with incredible typing. It pairs really well with Kyurem-B, too, stopping Exadrills, Charizards, Banded Scizors, etc. etc.

Tornadus-T is still a monster, and it still takes down Keldeo, Landorus (at the time this was built), new Serperiors, LO Gengar (which has risen in popularity), and overall boasts a great speed tier. Knock Off is also incredibly useful for taking down Chansey's Eviolites as well, and Hurricane is rather hard to switch into in general.

In a metagame with M-Sableye stall and stall just becoming more and more broken over time in ORAS, you need a dedicated answer to it. Taunt Swords Dance Talonflame is a perfect lategame win condition that is perfect for breaking either offensive teams or stall teams. Thanks to Kyurem-B's ability to break pretty much every Talonflame counter in the metagame, such lategame sweeps are easy enough to pull off.

Of course, with Empoleon gone, I'm not longer running the Defog support, and now that the team carries exactly THREE pokemon weak to rocks, I knew I needed to run hazard control. Mew is perfect for the job, spreading burns everywhere, and generally outspeeding and shutting down a lot of bulky teams (290 speed Mew is great for bulky garchomps; you outspeed those). Thanks to Kyurem-B and Talonflame setting up on non-Ancient Power Heatran, and Talonflame generally beating M-Sab stall, Mew can help break and shut down all other forms of stall in ORAS OU with the combination of Wisp and Taunt, making Mew a viable win condition against stall / balanced teams.

Diancie is here to aid Mew in blocking hazards; Magic Bounce + Defog is perfect hazard control, which pairs really, really nicely with three Pokemon all weak to rocks. Diancie is also a good natural check / counter to Talonflame, which is a nasty threat otherwise. Diancie itself can turn into a win condition, and its typing lures in most of Kyu-B's counters in Scizor and Ferrothorn, which are easily roasted with a well-aimed Hidden Power [Fire].

Trait: Terravolt
Nature: Mild
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power
- Roost

Kyurem-B is a monster. It's a really hard Pokemon to switch into and can easily dent and wear down balanced teams. Roost is amazing for longevity, allowing Kyu to spam its LO recoil and even Toxic damage without much fear or consequence, making it deadly to M-Manectric, M-Venusaur, Slowbro, M-Sableye, and tons of mischelanous threats: Landorus-T, Rotom-W, Heatran, Keldeo (choice-locked Hydro Pumps), Amoongus, Dragonite, BDrum Azumaril, etc. Fusion Bolt is nifty for hitting Slowrbo and Azumaril, which are especially dangerous if either sets up; M-Slowbro can be beat between Mew's burn / Taunting and Kyu-B's Fusion Bolts. Earth Power is most important to take down Heatran and Rotom-W. Kyu-B's amazing strength is useful for breaking down Talonflame's counter for an easy lategame sweep.

The nature of Mild is used to boost its Special Attack to its highest possible value, with EVs geared to max it out at 252 - Speed is maxed out since there is no reason to hit anything lower (Mamoswine is, like, 284, and you're better off speed tying with other neutral-speed Kyu-Bs anyway). The measly four remaining EVs are put into the Attack stat to help support Fusion Bolt (although Kyu-B's Attack Stat is naturally high enough). Life Orb is needed for power, as Leftovers is far too weak in comparison.

Talonflame is the team's most common win condition. Talons should always be used towards the ending portion of the match, after most of its checks and counters have been worn down. Don't be afraid of Heatran too much, either, as Talonflame can set up on that; focus more on breaking Rotom-W, Landorus-T, Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Garchomps, M-Manectric, Tyranitar, and Excadrill; the list may seem like a lot, but between all of its teammates, they can easily be taken down. Most teams won't pack more than two Talonflame counters anyway, so it should be easy to sweep; especially against stall-based teams, which think it can rely on chip damage and easy resists to take down what looks to be a Banded Talonflame.

Talonflame sports an Adamant nature because Talonflame is weaker than freakin' neutral Starmie even with Adamant nature. Talonflame could opt to run more bulk (usually in Special Defense) but I invested it into attack instead so that Talonflame can put in more work with a smaller boost of +2, and the investment allows it to double over as an offensive threat as well - the bulkier set is much too weak to really pose a threat to offensive teams, as Adamant is weak as it is. I chose Leftovers over Sharp Beak simply because it helps Talonflame set up and often times it can provide Talonflame with an additional KO since Lefties can usually keep recoil from KOing it long enough to win.

Trait: Regenerator
Nature: Hasty
EVs: 132 Hp / 122 SpA / 252 Spe
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- Knock Off
- Iron Tail

Tornadus-Therian has risen quite a lot in popularity since the time I began using it in XY OU. I suppose most of you are wondering why I am running Iron Tail, right? This team is quite weak to opposing Diancie, so Tornadus-Therian works as a lure, seeing as how Iron Tail is a OHKO. Knock Off is amazing for hitting Gengar and opposing Chanseys (which takes a lot of mindgames, but is not entirely impossible - Hurricane usually hits everthing except for Chansey hard, so usually, if you bluff no Knock Off, it'll eventually come in to stay in). Heat Wave is there to hit Scizor, especially Mega Scizor, which has risen in usage quite a lot. It also hits Ferrothorn and Skarmory, the former being useful for KyuB, and both the former and the ladder being especially helpful to Talonflame. I like how people hate it when Hurricane confuses them; but hello I'm using a 70% acc. move - I could MISS. So I risk a hella lot more using it, so the side bonus of confusion is warranted for all the times it misses. Actually, sans Knock Off, all of Tornadus-Therian's moves can miss... Although at least Heat Wave won't miss often, and it hits for neutral rather OK on a few offensive threats (like Thundurus if around 50%-ish).

Hasty is used so Iron Tail is a 100% OHKO on Diancie, while also boosting its chances of OHKOing Gengar (it sometimes does not in my experiences, although they might run weird defensive EVs who knows if I'm recalling lower ladder or not?). Hasty is better than Naive since Hasty is -Def and Naive would be counterproductive to what the set is trying to accomplish. Timid is another option, although I believe Iron Tail doesn't have a 100% OHKO rate on Diancie, which is rather annoying. Assault Vest is used to make use of Regenerator and its bulk / typing.

Trait: Synchronize
Nature: Timid
EVs: 144 Hp / 252 Def / 112 Spe
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost
- Defog

Mew is so cute! And a perfect fit for this team. With the release of M-Sableye, Mew hasn't seen much usage as a Defoggers (although some people are using it to EBelt lure things? What?). However, my team doesn't struggle much with M-Sab, thanks to M-Diancie and Talonflame, and most of Mew's teammates can take down Heatran, making Mew a perfectly viable lategame to balance and stalls, seeing as how lack of Wisp absorbs and Taunt Bouncers makes Mew a solid cleaner. However, Mew's primary role is to Defog and Wisp, and thanks to Mew's incredible speed, I can burn and taunt a lot of things; Roost is there over Softboiled since Roost is much easier to put on Mew in-games, which makes it much more believable than a Softboiled Mew, which is only available if transferred from gen 3 games.

Timid is used to hit the 290 speed tier - jumping neutral Kyu-B and below (which is a lot - Mamoswine, Tyranitar, Gyarados, adamant Pinsir, bulky Landorus-T, adamant Excadrill, Jolly Bisharp, Jolly Breloom, Jolly Diggersby, Jolly Dragonite, etc., etc.). The maxmum investment is put into Defense instead of HP to maximize its bulk on the physical spectrum, which is very important with Smogon running M-Metagross (I typically build with PO tiers in mind... although I bet Smogon is going to retest and ban M-Metagross anyway).

@

Trait: Magic Bounce
Nature: Naive
EVs: 64 Atk / 192 SpA / 252 Spe
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Earth Power

Diancie is the perfect partner to Mew, forming a rather sturdy Hazard Control core in Magic Bounce + Defog, keeping hazards away from my precious Kyurem-B, Tornaudus-Therian, and Talonflame. Diancie offers much needed resistance to flying, as well as posing an offensive threat; its speed is rather good at base 110; although it can't speed tie with other base 110s due to Hidden Power [Fire]; however, seeing as how Gengar and Latios are the only ones worth mentioning (M-Metagross is a threat I didn't really build in mind for; Landorus-T, Tornadus-T, and Mew check it, and Bullet Punch is too risky and common anyway), I feel its safe to break the speed tie option. Hitting M-Scizor is really important since Talonflame lacks the Flare Blitz, making M-Scizor an intimidating lategame opponent. Thanks to Hidden Power [Fire] and Tornauds-T's Heat Wave, coupled by Talonflame's bluff / set up on M-Scizor, I feel it isn't nearly as threatening anymore. Multiple outs to common metagame threats are important; HP Fire also hits Custap Skarms (assuming I can lure them in sometime after forcing them out with Taunt + chip damage, or bluffing a switch after Protect and using HP Fire), and also Ferrothorn, which is huge for Kyu-B and Talonflame. Diamond Storm is there for STAB, and it hits Heatran for the 2HKO, which is also rather nice. Earth Power is only slashed to speed tie with M-Metagross if you find it truly a force you cannot stop.

I've been using the EVs before an analysis was written up. 12 Attack might be better, but I like having a stronger Diamond Storm, especially if I can Knock Off Chansey's Eviolite. I chose Naive so that its offensive attacks would not be hindered, and I need its physical bulk for Talonflame's physical attacks.

Trait: Intimidate
Nature: Impish
EVs: 248 Hp / 144 Def / 8 SDef / 108 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- U-Turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Knock Off

Landorus-Therian is amazing glue to many teams, and it fits rather well here. It offers the team Rocks, a solid U-Turn, and Intimidate pressure. U-Turn is great for grabbing momentum, especially since Intimidate pressures users to switch out. Stealth Rock is also good since it nails Talonflame and Charizards, which can be quite annoying to face otherwise, and also stacks up good against teams in general. Stone Edge is there because Talonflame might try to set up in front of Knock Off Landorus's face, although Knock Off is viable for hitting Chansey - it's a pick and choose; I'd rather be safe and have extra insurance against Talonflame if Diancie is to go down, although hitting Chansey's eviolite has obvious advantages. Earthquake is surprisingly amazing, especially since teams are starting to drop EQ immunities with Landorus-Incarnate banned.

The EVs are designed to make Landorus as bulky as possible. 144 Hp / 248 Def can be used to make Landorus-T more bulky against M-Metagross, but the 248 HP allows Landorus-T to have more sturdy bulk on the special spectrum, which is neat since you sometimes live stray HP Ice or weak Scalds from bulky mons, which is quite nice if you need quick rocks or momentum with U-Turn. Impish is obvious for physical defense buff and no decrease to its physical attack performance.

This team is rather fun and I've enjoyed using it in the ORAS OU metagame. I've found it a bit more original than most standard things flying around, and it's win rate is pretty consistent for me.

The way this team plays: Diancie and Kyurem-B support a Talonflame sweep, although Diancie and Kyurem-B can sometimes become the win condition depending; Mew can become a win condition in extreme situations if Wisp absorbs / Taunt bouncers are gone. Tornadus-T should always lead and use Knock Off against Rain so that you can take Politoed's Damp Rock off, and from there, Diancie's Protect turns will come in handy.

Kyu should break Talonflame's counters. Diancie should lure Scizor, or sac to sometimes dent Ferrothorn; try to lure and destroy the handful of stall threats that beat Talonflame (mainly just Quagsire, or Scarf Gothitelle).

Note: the purpose of having three Pokemon weak to Rocks is to abuse the Hazard Control core provided by Mew and Diancie; between those two Pokemon, it's rather difficult for my opponent to get Rocks off successfully, allowing me to spam three threats my opponent is usually relying on Rocks to handle.

M-Metagross is a threat (that will probably be re-suspected and banned) that should be treated with caution since it can muscle through Kyu-B and Diancie, while Talonflame doesn't carry the Flare Blitz coverage to hit it with (although expert bluffing works wonders). Mew can burn it, Landorus-T can intimidate, Diancie / Kyurem-B can predict its switch and hit it for hard damage, and Tornadus-T can lure it in and Heat Wave.

Another threat is Diancie; try to lure it with Tornadus if at all possible, but otherwise, try denting Diancie so that +2 Talonflame can clean up. Landorus-T can live any hit and OHKO back - those 248 Hp is making a difference over 144 Hp; so Landorus-T can check this thing or sometimes bluff Scarf lead. A thing I like to do: don't mega evolve your Diancie so you live Earth Power - I do the same thing to another threat...:

Weavile. Diancie, if it chooses not to M-Evolve, lives any of its attacks, and since it is a popular lead against this team, you can often stop it. Talonflame can bluff the Band, and at +2 or after Rocks + Life Orb, you can take it with Talons anyway; non-Low Kick can't beat Kyurem-B, and you can play mindgames with Landorus-T, and Mew lives Knock Off and can Wisp in retaliation; if you've gotten a -1 before sending in Mew, you should be able to Roost off damage after two Knock Off assuming you've burned it afterward.

The two of these Pokemon are a bit hard to play around since Diancie is essentially useless in combating Sableye with Dugtrio around. Thankfully, Dugtrio is rather useless except for trapping Diancie, so most users won't bother with it, especially since Dugtrio is usually used on more offensive teams, while M-Sableye isn't.

The only clarification that i suggest is to change Latios > Kyurem Black

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 24 Atk / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
IVs: 29 Hp

The role is the same, Balance breaker, but Latios don't suffer stealth rock like as Kyurem and's Harder, Better, faster, stronger LOL

In this case i've suggested Hasty nature > Naive because you have problems with Manectric Mega :)
I hope that i've helped, gl with your team.

This suggestion makes an already Weavile weak team extremely weak to it indeed, as while Kyurem is by no means a counter, it can check the majority as they usually go without Low Kick these days to hit other targets. Also Latios doesn't break Balance nearly as well due to needing 4 slots to really break it, which means it loses the longevity this Kyurem set has.

Nice team, I think it's reached the point where any improvements I suggest would either be extreme nitpicks or would just open up other weaknesses, good job!

Hmm this isn't something I'd consider. Kyu-B is a big threat to Manectric, for starters, and Kyu-B is essential for wearing down Talonflame's counters specifically, and generally hitting the balance core of Heatran, Landorus-T, and Rotom-W hard. Latios's main STAB (Dragon- Type) has such a negative drawback from the -2, making it inconsistent as a wallbreaker, and forced out everytime I want to use it. Its STAB has an immunity in the Fairy Typing, so things like Azumaril (BDrum especially) and Clefable are bigger threats to this team; meanwhile, Kyu-B can make these switch-ins take hard damage from a neutral STAB LO Ice Beam, which has much more consistency.

Another consistency aspect -- Roost. The longevity is vital for this role, as I let Kyu-B come in on Wash's Wisp (if I deem Fusion Bolt uneccessary) and stray attacks all the time (Kyu-B is surprisingly bulky, and Roost further extends this). Latios is not as bulky.

The Rocks weakness is also an essential component to this team. I am trying to stack up three weaknesses to rocks to abuse the dual-Hazard Control core the team utilizes to make give the Rock-Weak mons the clear to sweep through teams. Most teams rely on winning the Hazard war to wear down Talonflame, Kyu-B, and Tornadus-T, but with my Hazard Control Core, rocks are almost never on the field ever, leaving Talonflame, Tornadus-T, and Kyu-B free to switch in and hammer down teams whenever they want to.

Latios trades off a lack of rocks weakness with less longevity and equally less power and little-to-no no wall-breaking potential. Kyu-B has longevity and bulk it can actually utilize on a field void of Stealth Rocks, as well as free reign to use said bulk and longevity to gain more switch-in opportunities, allowing it more opportunities to break down opposing team threats, paving the way for Talonflame to sweep.

Latios can't do any of that. Its frail, has 4MMS, less bulk, etc. etc. Latios also makes me weak to Manectric, whereas Kyu-B can switch into it all day (see -- no rocks makes Kyu-B an easy mon to switch into to miscellaneous threats such as M-Manec).

Thanks! I hope you try it out! It's a really fun, consistent, and quirky team to play with.

***

I would reccomend adding specs raikou to the threat list, as shadow ball kinda does a number to this team.
Eh. Kyu-B switches into this with little to no issues; Tornadus-T and Landorus-T can play mindgames if its Specs, and Assault Vest is too weak to do anything. +2 BB also does, like, around 50% after rocks (literally, just calc'd), so some chip damage from my own rocks and Mew's burn (which isn't too hard to accomplish) can make it a shaky Pokemon to rely on lategame.

Talonflame can usually get a +4 as well, since the first set up is usually a surprise to opponent, so you can get that boost for free sometimes, making another boost just as easy. They might try sacing the thing you Taunted / setup +2 on as well, leaving you with set up turns, in fear of switch in on Flare Blitz (which we don't carry) or Brave Bird.

+4 Talonflame does around 61-70% to Raikou, which means you can KO it lategame assuming my team did its job of wearing down Talonflame's counters. (Heck, you can probably end it lategame at +2 doing around 50%-ish if the team wears it down properly.)

It's no more of a threat than anything else imo. You just gotta play around it. A team is only as good as the player using it! :)

If you need to set up the +2 but can't, you can try Roosting; yes, V-SWitch does 59% if Specs (while non-Specs doesn't go over 50%), but you can catch a choke in V-Switch over TBolt (most players will do this to scout an "obvious" switch - and those moves usually KO Talonflame anyway... if they don't have HP investment, but since we carry 248 HP, you live them easily without Flying- typing), and you can use that to Roost off your Flying typing, take the 40-59% (depending), and set up a +2 on your opponents switch-in.

Using this tip, Talonflame can easily get the edge and overcome this threat lategame - assuming the team wears it down (Tornadus-T outspeeds, lives any hit, and can Knock Off, making it useless against the rest of the team, Kyu-B can switch into anything, non-Specs is walled by Mew, etc. etc.)

I don't know. I guess my thinking is weird, but I always find that you can play around anything if you think flexibly.

I had to modify your Mew. You used to jump Adamant Pinsir back in the XY Meta - I've since lowered the speed tier to jump neutral Kyu-B and lower - the defensive investment is important to lower the chances of Meteor Mash from Metagross achieving the 2HKO.

But yeah. Your team with Charizard + Mew inspired the XY OU team I built with the Mew that inspired this revision for the ORAS OU metagame. Funny how that works :-)

ALSO YOU'RE ALIVE? HUH?

Hey there,
You've given a lot of people some great rates but haven't gotten many yourself so I decided I might as well give it a shot. I couldn't really see any positive changes that would come from a moveset change as you chose and explained every more very well. The only thing I can point out is a very minor nitpick: With your mew spread, it will take the same amount of damage from physical attacks with a spread of 144 hp / 248 Def (I calced bisharp knock and weavile knock and 244 leads to slight changes to weaker attacks, whereas 248 seems to lead to no change. This would give you four extra evs to place in SDef which might come in handy.
Your team is arguably weak to Keldeo as all of your scald switchins are worn down by burn quickly as tornadus is your best answer, but a SubCM set could be incredibly annoying as it can setup on mew despite a taunt and then get free turns to tank a hurricane / brave bird. There's no real set change I can think of to fix this that won't hurt for other matchups more than it will help you here, but it's something to keep in mind.

Also I notice that you are running enough speed on Landorus-T for Jolly TTar, but I've recently never seen a non-scarf max speed ice beam ttar (which was popular during one xy era), and am usually seeing bulkier sets aimed at tanking an EQ while also absorbing other hits for sand offense teams. Landorus-T is also not going to handle bisharp very well most of the time and I haven't found outspeeding it to be important: additionally they sucker punch most of the time, whereas the now more common jolly sets will outspeed you regardless. Finally, a slow u-turns are generally a boon so that you can get in your attackers like Diancie or Kyurem in safely. Thus, you can lower the amount of speed investment and pour it into bulk instead to better handle Metagross, while running enough speed to outspeed 44 speed Rotom-Wash. The final Landorus-T Spread would be 248 HP / 240 Def / 8 SpD / 12 Spe.

I didn't really have much to add but hopefully these small changes will be beneficial, you have a very nice team and thank you for your wonderful rate. :]
