[OVERVIEW]

When Mega-Evolved, Lucario becomes a rather potent wallbreaker with the ability to dismantle most bulky offense teams with relative ease thanks to Adaptability and its variety of movepool options, from STAB attacks to coverage moves. Furthermore, Mega Lucario's Speed tier allows it to outspeed the crucial base 110 Speed tier, where many relevant threats reside. However, Mega Lucario notably faces stiff competition as a Fighting-type from Keldeo and Terrakion. All these Pokemon have a niche in being able to OHKO Mega Kangaskhan, but Keldeo's and Terrakion's access to Quick Guard, non-Mega status, and generally better typing prove to be more useful over Mega Lucario's attributes most of the time. Mega Lucario's advantages over Keldeo and Terrakion, however, are its higher Speed and access to priority. Mega Lucario is also vulnerable to speed control, which renders its good base Speed useless. Furthermore, Mega Lucario's low bulk leaves it rather vulnerable to offensive pressure from faster threats such as Shaymin-S, Mega Gengar, and Deoxys-A. Although Mega Lucario possesses a fairly good variety of coverage options, its power can be easily neutered by an Intimidate user such as Landorus-T or by a physically defensive wall such as Cresselia.

Moves
========

Mega Lucario enjoys a Substitute's safety net to survive powerful attacks, protect itself from status moves and Intimidate, and freely use Close Combat without worrying about the defense drops. Close Combat is Lucario's strongest STAB move and gets even stronger when boosted by Adaptability. Iron Tail is the preferred choice for Lucario's Steel-type STAB move, but Flash Cannon can also be used if Iron Tail's chance to miss is undesirable. However, this comes at the expense of not being able to OHKO certain Pokemon, such as Sylveon. Protect is needed to let Lucario Mega Evolve safely or preserve its Substitute if it needs to.

Set Details
========

With maximum Speed investment, Mega Lucario can outspeed the entire base 110 Speed tier, which includes Pokemon such as Mega Diancie and Latios. Furthermore, it can also outspeed offensive Thundurus and Adamant Talonflame. It also needs as many Attack EVs as possible to take full advantage of its STAB moves. A Naive nature should only be used when using Flash Cannon over Iron Tail. Otherwise, Lucario should be running a Jolly nature. Inner Focus can let non-Mega Lucario set up a Substitute when predicting an oncoming Fake Out.

Usage Tips
========

Lucario should Mega Evolve as soon as possible in order to take advantage of its boosted Speed. Furthermore, it should almost always use Protect in order to Mega Evolve safely. It's also usually a good idea to set up a Substitute on foes that Lucario can force out, such as Mega Kangaskhan, Kyurem-B, and Heatran. Substitute can also be set up in the face of common status spreaders such as Rotom-W and Amoonguss. Amoonguss in particular can't do anything to break Mega Lucario's Substitute. Lucario can also use Substitute against an enemy Landorus-T if it is locked into Rock Slide. Although Lucario normally has no business staying in against Thundurus or Talonflame, Mega Lucario can use Substitute with Quick Guard support when predicting a Thunder Wave from Thundurus or a Brave Bird from Talonflame.

Team Options
========

Dark-types such as Hydreigon, Bisharp, and Darkrai can beat Aegislash, Jellicent, and Cresselia, which wall this set. Redirection support can benefit Mega Lucario by letting it set up a Substitute easily. Togekiss is an excellent option because it has great defensive synergy with Mega Lucario. Amoonguss can also redirect moves as well as put foes to sleep, furthering Mega Lucario's setup opportunities. Certain Choice Scarf users such as Genesect and Kyurem-B can beat threats that outspeed Mega Lucario, particularly Deoxys-A and Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Keldeo and Terrakion can benefit Mega Lucario with Quick Guard support and prevent it from getting hit by priority moves, letting it use Substitute in the right situations. Offensively, Mega Lucario has good synergy with Thundurus, which beats Flying-types such as Talonflame and Landorus-T. Thundurus can also paralyze certain faster foes so that Mega Lucario can outspeed them the next turn.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Close Combat, when backed up by STAB and Adaptability, wrecks everything that doesn't resist it. Bullet Punch gives Mega Lucario a decently strong priority attack, allowing it to pick off weakened Pokemon and OHKO Mega Diancie. Extreme Speed can be used instead for neutral coverage against the likes of Talonflame and should be used if running Iron Tail instead of Stone Edge. Stone Edge prevents Mega Lucario from being circumvented by many offensive threats that would otherwise get rid of it instantly. With Stone Edge, Mega Lucario can OHKO or put decent offensive pressure on threats such as Mega Charizard Y, Talonflame, Thundurus, Victini, and Gyarados. It should be noted that while Mega Lucario can also use Rock Slide, it's not able to OHKO bulky Mega Charizard Y, which is the most common Charizard spread. Iron Tail can be used instead for another strong STAB move that is able to OHKO Fairy-types such as Sylveon and Togekiss. Protect is required in order to safely Mega Evolve Lucario.

Set Details
========

Maximum investment in Attack and Speed allows Mega Lucario to hit as hard and as quickly as possible. Maximum investment is also needed to let Mega Lucario outspeed opposing base 110 Speed threats, Adamant Talonflame, and offensive Thundurus. While none of Lucario's non-Mega abilities are particularly useful, Inner Focus is the best option, as it lets Lucario predict a Fake Out and then deal big damage to the Fake Out user on the same turn.

Usage Tips
========

Lucario is very frail and cannot be switched in easily. Accordingly, the best time to bring in Lucario is typically when another ally has fainted or at the start of the battle. Otherwise, Lucario can also switch into a Choice-locked Landorus-T's Rock Slide. Thanks to Inner Focus, you can play mindgames with opposing Fake Out users by not Mega Evolving and then attacking them on the same turn. This can work really well against Mega Kangaskhan, which can't OHKO Lucario with any of its other moves if it's Jolly and doesn't outspeed Lucario the turn that it Mega Evolves if it's Adamant. However, this is rather situational, as not Mega Evolving Lucario is generally a bad idea. That being said, you should usually use Protect on the turn that Lucario Mega Evolves so that it can safely get the boost to its Speed.

Team Options
========

Fire-types such as Talonflame and Rotom-H greatly appreciate Mega Lucario's ability to OHKO Mega Diancie. Mega Lucario also appreciates strong attackers that match up well against Landorus-T, including Keldeo and Kyurem-B. Bisharp takes advantage of Intimidate and Icy Wind thanks to Defiant. It also forces out the Ghost- and Psychic-types that wall Mega Lucario and discourages Intimidate users from switching in. However, Bisharp stacks weaknesses with Mega Lucario, so the two are hard to fit on a team together. Thundurus can cripple Pokemon that are faster than Mega Lucario, such as Deoxys-A and Darkrai, as well as check Landorus-T and most Flying-types. In return, Mega Lucario handles the Rock- and Ice-types that check Thundurus, such as Diancie and Kyurem-B. Terrakion and Landorus-T are good options when Lucario isn't running Stone Edge, as they both help check Flying-types. Rotom-H and Rotom-W can support Lucario with their Electric-type STAB moves as well as Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave. Defensively, Rotom-H can switch into Earthquake for Lucario, while Lucario can switch into Rock Slide for Rotom-H. Rotom-H can also handle Aegislash and Ferrothorn. Furthermore, Rotom-W beats Ground-types, particularly Landorus-T, for Mega Lucario. As Mega Lucario generally fits well on hyper offense teams, other fast, powerful threats such as Deoxys-A can support it well. This is because Deoxys-A can beat Landorus-T, Shaymin-S, and other faster threats that Mega Lucario can't beat easily.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Justified can be used over Inner Focus to switch in on Dark-type attacks and get an Attack boost. However, this is not really a good idea in practice due to the fact that the only Dark-type that Lucario can safely switch into is Bisharp, and non-Mega Lucario can't even tank most resisted attacks. A specially offensive set with Aura Sphere can work if your team is very weak to Intimidate, but even a -1 Close Combat hits harder than a fully invested Aura Sphere in most cases. Crunch can be used to deal with Aegislash and Cresselia more easily, but Lucario prefers the ability to hit Flying-types hard. Lucario has access to various support options such as Follow Me and even Heal Pulse, but it is too frail to make good use of these. Rock Slide deals spread damage and has better accuracy than Stone Edge. However, when factoring in spread damage reduction, Rock Slide does only almost half the damage that Stone Edge does and notably doesn't OHKO bulky Mega Charizard Y. Ice Punch is a niche option to reliably hit Landorus-T and Shaymin-S, but it should really only be considered on teams that have Tailwind support.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Intimidate and Burns**: While Mega Lucario can avoid these if it has a Substitute up, it gets ruined by Intimidate and burns without a Substitute. Landorus-T and Gyarados are common Intimidate users that can wall Mega Lucario. Additionally, a fast Will-O-Wisp from Mega Gengar or Prankster Sableye stops Mega Lucario's sweep almost immediately.

**Typing Advantage**: Mega Lucario has few completely reliable counters because most Pokemon that resist its STAB attacks cannot safely switch into it. Nonetheless, if Mega Lucario cannot OHKO its target, it is very vulnerable to being KOed back in the same turn. Offensive checks include Deoxys-A, Thundurus, Shaymin-S, Mega Charizard Y, and Talonflame. Fortunately for Mega Lucario, most of its offensive checks are weak to Stone Edge. Defensively, Cresselia and bulky Ghost-types such as Aegislash and Jellicent can tank all of Mega Lucario's STAB and coverage moves very easily.

**Speed**: Though base 112 Speed is undeniably fast, Mega Lucario still falls short of outspeeding Deoxys-A, Darkrai, and Shaymin-S. Bullet Punch helps somewhat, but Deoxys-A's Focus Sash allow it to survive the move, while the other three can survive it easily. Choice Scarf users such as Genesect and Landorus-T, as well as weather sweepers such as Excadrill and Ludicolo, also outspeed Mega Lucario and threaten it greatly.

**Speed Control**: All forms of opposing speed control render Mega Lucario's high Speed useless. Moreover, Mega Lucario lacks the bulk to take repeated hits and retaliate.

Instead of only mentioning Rotom-H, mention both H and W since they both work well as partners thanks to will o or twave support and electric-type stabs, but also help support it in different ways. Rotom-h deals with Aegislash and can beat Ferro so luc doesn't need to take the iron barbs recoil, and Wash can beat ground-types easily.

Hi

OVERVIEW:

- I disagree with the "check Fairies". Special Luc has some trouble KOing the bulkier weak Fairies (Sylveon, Gardevoir) and straight up loses to the neutral Fairies (Mawile and Azumarill). It also can't switch in easily because unlike other Steel types it doesnt resist Fairy and has pretty low defenses.
- Unique because it's one of the only Pokemon that can single handedly beat the top 3 megas in the tier, MKang, MDiancie, and MZard Y by itself while still being offensively useful in other situations

MIXED SUB

SET DETAILS:

- Picky: After mentioning it outspeeds Talon, say one of the reasons is to make Sub before Willo a possibility; you dont rly want to imply that Luc has any business staying in on Talon 1 v 1. Same with Thundurus; mention that only matters if you can avoid TWave (ie you're behind a Sub) and possibly KO it or its partner.

USAGE TIPS:

- Dont try subbing on Rotom. Unless there is something obvious that could punish HPump / Tbolt, no reason why anyone would burn a mixed Luc when they can just KO it. Close Combat is a clean 2HKO anyway so just KO Rotom if you can

ALL OUT PHYSICAL

USAGE TIPS:
- Dont be afraid to switch Lucario. It becomes dead weight easily if it cant hit at least neutrally or it's statused or Intimidated, and avoid confrontation from bulky tanks early if you want to save Lucario for a cleanup.

CHECKS & COUNTERS:
- Hard to check because CC is so powerful but basically if you've got good tanks, resist CC, and arent weak to Steel you can at least check MLuc.
- Bulky Psychics (Cress) tank CC pretty easily and dont mind Flash Cannon either and thus wall mixed, though physical's Iron Tail can hurt
- Bulky Ghost-types do pretty well too, Aegislash is an easy counter, Jellicent as well.
- Bulky Waters do ok since Luc cant hit them super effectively, though CC can still hurt a lot. Eg Suicune, Rotom-W if you get in before, Azumarill. All are just checks though

Do all this and it's 2/3 good job buddy

252 Atk Mega Lucario Rock Slide vs. 248 HP / 64 Def Mega Charizard Y: 300-356 (83.5 - 99.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Probably worth mentioning somewhere on the physical attacker set that Rock Slide misses the OHKO but Stone Edge too. If Rock Slide did obtain this OHKO, I would otherwise have recommended it over Stone Edge

Alright so I know those mixed attacker evs have been there for a while... but I was talking with Pocket and Haruno and none of us could really figure out why they're there. Flash Cannon is the move in theory bc you want to hit Lando-T after Intimidate and also hit Fairies, Amoonguss, some other stuff.

But we could not for the life of us find a benchmark where that much SpA (or indeed pretty much any SpA is necessary)

Meanwhile
252 Atk Adaptability Mega Lucario Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Rotom-W: 268-316 (88.1 - 103.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Adaptability Mega Lucario Close Combat vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Keldeo: 310-366 (95.6 - 112.9%) -- 75% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Adaptability Mega Lucario Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Politoed: 246-290 (64 - 75.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO through Sitrus Berry

So we are thinking to actually move the mixed attacker to 252 Atk... and Pocket is even considering suggesting Iron Tail over Flash Cannon to gain an ohko on Togekiss etc, 2hko roll on amoong, etc. Sub, he argues, helps protect against the misses.

Even if the move to Iron Tail is made, though, it should still be 2 sets as they play differently enough between SubTect or 3 attacks.

well he didn't, so I say go for what I said and write it up.

It'll need a somewhat different write-up from the deets you currently have, but that's fine. We'll just get it sorted before check 3 happens.

Not just Keldeo, don't forget Terrakion

I don't think Metagross is actually much competition at all. Only in the sense that you can use the mons to beat Sylveon and Gardevoir. In every other way possible they are not all that similar.

You don't really force Terrakion out since most are sash, so that's a bad example of when to sub. Many will be happy to trade. Maybe say Heatran or Kyurem-B instead. The single best thing to sub against is Amoonguss and this can't be undersold.

Rock Slide can ohko charizard, just not bulky charizard

Inner Focus should be preferred on both sets, not even worth mentioning Justified imo. That's OO beat up kind of stuff.

Iron Tail can be used instead for another strong STAB move (RC) or for being able to OHKO Fairy-types such as Sylveon and Togekiss. Protect is required in order to safely Mega Evolve Lucario.

Set Details

Maximum investment in Attack and Speed allows Mega Lucario to hit as hard and as quickly as possible. Maximum investment is also needed to let Mega Lucario outspeed opposing base 110 Speed threats, Adamant Talonflame, and offensive Thundurus. While none of Lucario's non-Mega abilities are particularly useful, (AC) Inner Focus is probably (using "probably" doesn't make it look like you know what you're talking about :> this should convey the point you were trying to make) the best option for the ability, as it lets Lucario predict a Fake Out and then do big damage on the Fake Out user in the same turn.

Usage Tips
========

Lucario is very frail (RC) and cannot be switched in easily. When you're Lucario is using Inner Focus, you can get tricky play mindgames with opposing Fake Out users by not Mega Evolving and then doing damage on them in the same turn. This can work really well against Mega Kangaskhan, which can't OHKO Lucario with any of its other moves if it's Jolly or and doesn't outspeed Lucario the turn that it Mega Evolves if it's Adamant. However, this is rather situational, as keeping not Mega Evolving Lucario non-Mega is generally a bad idea most of the time. Probably rephrase this to something like "However, Bisharp stacks weaknesses with Mega Lucario, and therefore the two are hard to fit on a team together") Thundurus can cripple Pokemon that are faster than Mega Lucario, such as Deoxys-A and Darkrai, as well as check Landorus-T and most Flying-types. Defensively, Rotom-H can switch into Earthquake for Lucario, while Lucario can switch into Rock Slide for Rotom-H. Rotom-H can also handle Aegislash and Ferrothorn. Furthermore, Rotom-W beats Ground-types, particularly Landorus-T, for Lucario. As Mega Lucario generally fits well on hyperoffense hyper offensive teams, other fast, powerful threats such as Deoxys-A can support it well. This is because Deoxys-A can beat Landorus-T, Shaymin-Sky Shaymin-S, and other faster threats that Mega Lucario can't beat easily.

Defensively, Cresselia and bulky Ghost-types such as Aegislash and Jellicent can tank all of Mega Lucario's STABs STAB and coverage moves very easily.

[OVERVIEW]

Lucario, when Mega Evolved, can becomes a rather potent wallbreaker with the ability to dismantle most bulky offense-oriented teams with relative ease. When coupled with the ability Adaptability, Mega Lucario becomes a powerful, well-rounded attacker because of its variety of advantageous movepool options, from STAB to coverage. Furthermore, Mega Lucario's speed tier is one that allows it to outspeed the infamous base speed tier of 110, where many relevant threats reside. However, Lucario most certainly is not safe from its extensive list of disadvantages. Most notably, it faces stiff competition as a Fighting-type from Keldeo and Terrakion. Both Pokemon have a niche in being able to OHKO Mega Kangaskhan, but Keldeo's / Terrakion's access to Quick Guard, lack of a Mega slot, and generally better typing proves to be more useful over Mega Lucario's attributes most of the time. Mega Lucario's advantages over Keldeo and Terrakion, however, is its faster Speed and access to priority. Mega Lucario is also vulnerable to speed control, which renders its good base Speed useless. Furthermore, Mega Lucario's low levels of (this is a bit weird, no Pokemon has "low levels of bulk" replace it imo) bulk leaves it rather vulnerable to offensive pressure from the likes of faster threats such as Shaymin-Sky, Mega Gengar, or and Deoxys-A. Mega Lucario is also vulnerable to speed control, which can render its good base Speed useless. (Decided to move it because it was right after a sentence where you were selling its faster Speed) Although Mega Lucario possesses a fairly good variety of coverage options, its power can be easily diminished by a user of the abundant Intimidate ability Intimidate, such as Landorus-T, or by a physically defensive wall, (RC) such as Cresselia.

Lucario enjoys a Substitute to survive powerful attacks, protect itself from status moves and Intimidate, and abuse Close Combat, as the move lowers Lucario's defensive stats. Close Combat is Lucario's strongest STAB move, and gets even stronger when boosted by Adaptability. Iron Tail is the preferred choice for Lucario's Steel-type STAB. Flash Cannon can also be used because of Iron Tail's noticeable chance to miss. However, this is comes at the expense of not being able to OHKO certain Pokemon, such as Sylveon. Protect is needed to ensure that Lucario can Mega Evolve safely or if it needs to preserve its Substitute.

Set Details
========

With max Speed, Mega Lucario can outspeed the entire base 110 Speed tier, which includes Pokemon such as Mega Diancie and Latios. Furthermore, it can also outspeed offensive Thundurus and Adamant Talonflame. It also needs as much Attack EVs as possible to take advantage of its STABs. Naive should only be used when using Flash Cannon over Iron Tail; otherwise, . Otherwise, Lucario should be running Jolly. Inner Focus is the preferred choice for the ability, as it can let non-Mega Lucario set up a Substitute when predicting an oncoming Fake Out.

Usage Tips
========

Lucario should be Mega Evolved as soon as possible in order to take advantage of its high Speed. Furthermore, you should almost always use Protect in order to Mega Evolve safely. It's also usually a good idea to set up a Substitute on opponents that Lucario can force out, such as Mega Kangaskhan, Kyurem-B, or Heatran. Substitute can also be set up in the face of common status spreaders such as Rotom-W or Amoonguss. Amoonguss in particular can't do anything to break Lucario's Substitute, unlike Rotom-W. Lucario can also use Substitute against an enemy Landorus-T if they are locked into Rock Slide. Although Lucario normally has no business staying in against Thundurus or Talonflame, (even though it outspeeds them), Mega Lucario can use Substitute with Quick Guard support when predicting a Thunder Wave from Thundurus or a Brave Bird from Talonflame.

Team Options
========

Dark-types such as Hydreigon, Bisharp, or and Darkrai can beat Aegislash, Jellicent, and Cresselia, which all of whom wall this set. Redirection can benefit Lucario by letting it set up a Substitute easily. (remove extra space here)Togekiss is a prime user of Follow Me because it has great defensive synergy with Lucario. Amoonguss can also redirects moves , (RC) and can then put opponents to sleep, furthering Lucario's set-up opportunities. Certain Choice Scarf users such as Genesect or Kyurem-B can beat threats that outspeed Mega Lucario, particularly Deoxys-A or and Choice Scarf Landorus-T. Keldeo or and Terrakion can benefit Lucario with Quick Guard support and prevent it from getting hit by priority moves, letting it use Substitute in the right situations. Offensively, Lucario has good offensive synergy with Thundurus, which beats Flying-types such as Talonflame and Landorus-T. Thundurus can also paralyze certain faster opponents so that Mega Lucario can outspeed them the next turn.

Moves

Close Combat, when backed up by STAB and Adaptability, wrecks everything that doesn't resist it. It's Lucario's main attacking move and the most potent attack that it can muster. (<---This sentence doesn't really tell the reader anything, but you can keep it if you want) Bullet Punch gives Lucario a decently strong priority attack, allowing it to pick off weakened Pokemon or to and OHKO Mega Diancie. Extremespeed Extreme Speed can be used instead for neutral coverage against the likes of Talonflame, and should be used if Lucario is running Iron Tail instead of Stone Edge. Stone Edge is an important coverage move that prevents Lucario from being circumvented by the likes of many offensive threats that would otherwise get rid of it instantly. With Stone Edge, Lucario can OHKO or put decent offensive pressure against threats such as Mega Charizard-Y, Talonflame, Thundurus, Victini, and Gyarados. It should be noted that while Lucario also can also use Rock Slide, it's not able to OHKO bulky Mega Charizard-Y, which is the mostre common Charizard set. (<<add period) spread anyway. Iron Tail can be used instead for another strong STAB move, or for being able to OHKO Fairy-types such as Sylveon and Togekiss. Protect is required in order to safely Mega Evolve Lucario.

Set Details
========

Maximum investment in Attack and Speed allow Lucario to hit as hard and as quickly as possible. Maximum investment is also needed to let Lucario outspeed opposing base 110 Speed threats Pokemon, Adamant Talonflame, and offensive Thundurus. Inner Focus probably the best option for the ability, as it lets Lucario predict a Fake Out and then do big damage on attack the Fake Out users in the same turn instead of getting flinched.

Usage Tips
========

Lucario is very frail, and cannot be switched in easily. That being said, most of the time, the best time to bring in Lucario is when another ally has fainted or at the start of the battle. Otherwise, Lucario can also switch into a Choice-locked Landorus-T's Rock Slide or most Dark-type attacks if Lucario is running Justified. When you're using Inner Focus, you can get tricky with opposing Fake Out users by not Mega Evolving and then doing damage on to them in the same turn. This can work really well against Mega Kangaskhan, which can't OHKO Lucario with any of its other moves if it's Jolly or and doesn't outspeed Lucario the turn that it Mega Evolves if it's Adamant. However, this is rather situational, as keeping Lucario non-Mega is generally a bad idea most of the time. That being said With this in mind, you should Protect most of the time the turn that Lucario Mega Evolves, so it can safely get the boost to its Speed.

Team Options
========

Fire-types such as Talonflame or and Rotom-H greatly appreciate Lucario's ability to OHKO Mega Diancie. Lucario also appreciates benefits from strong attackers that match up well against Landorus-T, including such as Keldeo and Kyurem-B. Bisharp takes advantage of Intimidate and Icy Wind attacks thanks to Defiant; it . It also forces out the Ghost- and Psychic-types that wall Lucario and discourages Intimidate users from switching in. However, Bisharp does not pair up with Lucario well in the long run because it stacks weaknesses to Fighting-, Fire-, and Ground-type attacks. Thundurus can cripple Pokemon that are faster than Lucario, such as Deoxys-A and Darkrai, as well as check Landorus-T and most Flying-types. In return, Lucario handles the Rock- and Ice-types, such as Diancie and Kyurem-B, (RC) that check Thundurus. Terrakion or Landorus-T are good team options that should be used when Lucario isn't running Stone Edge, as they both help check Flying-types. Either Rotom-H or Rotom-W can support Lucario with their Electric-type STABs and Will-O-Wisp/Thunder Wave support. As Lucario generally fits well on hyper offensive hyperoffense teams, other fast, powerful threats such as Deoxys-A can support it well. This is because Deoxys-A can beat Landorus-T, Shaymin-Sky, and other faster threats that Lucario can't beat easily.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Justified can also be used to switch in on Dark-type moves attacks and get an Attack boost. However, this is not really a good idea in practice due to the fact that the only Dark-type that Lucario can safely switch into -in to is Bisharp and non-Mega Lucario can't even tank most resisted attacks. Lucario has access to various support options such as Follow Me and even Heal Pulse, but it is too frail to function well as a Pokemon perform these roles consistently. Rock Slide is a way to deal spread damage and provides more reliable accuracy than Stone Edge. However, when factoring in spread damage reduction, Rock Slide does almost half the damage that Stone Edge does and doesn't nab the OHKO on bulky Mega Charizard Y, which is a very noticeable drawback. Ice Punch is a niche option to reliably hit Landorus-T and Shaymin-Sky, but should really only be considered on teams that have Tailwind support.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Intimidate and Burns**: While Lucario can avoid these if it has a Substitute up, Lucario otherwise gets ruined by Intimidate and burns. Landorus-T and Gyarados are both common Intimidate users that can potentially wall check Lucario. Also, a fast Will-O-Wisp from Mega Gengar or Prankster Sableye stops Lucario's sweep almost immediately.

**Typing Advantage**: Lucario has few completely reliable counters because most Pokemon that resist its STAB moves attacks cannot safely switch into it. Nonetheless, if Lucario cannot OHKO its target, it is very vulnerable to being KOed back itself in the same turn. Offensive checks include Deoxys-A, Thundurus, Shaymin-Sky, Mega Charizard Y, and Talonflame. Fortunately for Lucario, most of its offensive checks are weak to Stone Edge. Defensively, Cresselia and bulky Ghost-types such as Aegislash and Jellicent can tank all of Mega Lucario's STABs and coverage moves very easily.

Also, some tips; I really like your writing style, it's fluid and interesting, but there's too much fluff in a lot of places and it's sometimes hard to understand your sentences. In the future I would work on making sure that everything you are writing in the analysis adds to the reader's understanding of the Pokemon. I know I'm not GP but I thought I should add that in, otherwise your style is pretty nice so keep it up!

edit: Shit, I just realized that you haven't implemented The Dutch Plumberjack's check yet……fml…
