I take it all back, brute force is the best strategy ever and I love it with all my heart.

IF you are burned when you would act, Iron Defense and push actions back. Don't activate consecutively.
IF opponent uses a P/E move A2, THEN Chill and push actions back.

After spending a whole hour deliberating my actions, I realized that going for the kill on A1 is way easier and about 20-30% more likely to succeed than any kind of substitution-exploiting or status-inflicting shenanigans I can devise.
