Undiscovered Types [PLAYABLE on Galaxy Server!]

What if something wins 2 categories, like Dragon/Bug and Dragon/Fighting Haxorus?
The category with more overall points wins that Pokemon, and then the other category gets its second place winner as its representative. So if Haxorus got 30 points in Dragon + Fighting and 29 in Dragon + Bug, and the next closest vote for Bug was Yanmega (28 points), Haxorus represents Dragon + Fighting and Yanmega represents Dragon + Bug.

Type: Electric / Poison
Justification: Pretend its fur is tipped with poison.
New Moves: Sludge Bomb, Poison Sting, Poison Fang, Smog, Toxic Spikes
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: Quick Feet -> Poison Point

I want a fast, offensive Toxic Spiker.

The "no removing unique types" rule is royally cockblocking this slate. Galvantula would make a nice Electric / Poison candidate and the Slugma and Litwick lines would be solid Fire / Poison candidates. What if you added a rule that if we remove a unique typing we have to make up for it elsewhere? Say if we changed Litwick to Fire / Poison, later we could look for Fire / Ghost candidates (Vulpix? Sunny Castform? Drifblim? Gourgeist?). Just a thought.

That makes things needlessly convoluted. Then, in voting, you'd need to vote for both Galvantula for Electric + Poison and...Scizor? (idk) as a Bug + Electric replacement. Then what happens if a previous submission winner is just perfect for a new slate? Could you replace that one and give the old unique type to something else, essentially redoing part of a slate?

However, for future reference, I'll nix rules that people are already breaking and honestly aren't such a big deal.
  • For starter Pokemon, their primary type must remain the original Grass, Fire or Water (ex: Feraligatr cannot become Dragon/Fighting)
  • For Pokemon that are a part of some bigger theme (legendary trios, Eeveelutions), your new typing cannot mess up that theme (ex: Cobalion needs to retain a secondary Fighting type, but changing its Steel type is fine...also, Sylveon or any other Eeveelution is unable to receive a dual typing)
Those rules will no longer apply. Otherwise I'd have to disqualify Jolteon and Rampardos from the last slate (all Fossil Pokemon are part Rock).

I'm also making my own submissions for this slate because I thought of some good ones that no one has mentioned yet (and one that someone has).

Name(s):
Cubchoo, Beartic
Type: Ice / Poison
Justification: Cubchoo is literally powered by its dripping snot (look it up), filled with bacteria and associated with illness. Basically, it always has a cold, so Poison is a good fit for it -- imagine it shooting out that mucus as Sludge Bomb. Beartic would logically possess the same powers as it younger form, and it wouldn't surprise me if that ice beard is actually the frozen snot from its pre-evolution. Ew.
New Moves: Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Belch
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Garbodor
Type: Poison / Electric
Justification: Did you know this thing learns Thunderbolt? Odd choice, and it can't even be explained by the Muk excuse of "random-ass Gen 1 learnsets." However, it makes more sense if you think of that metal wire running through its left arm as an electrical chord. Electronic waste makes up a lot of what modern society throws away, and the Pokemon world seems just as electronically inclined as our own. Wouldn't it be logical that Garbador contains a few parts of a thrown-away Pokedex and some material from an old power plant?
New Moves: Thunder, Volt Switch, Wild Charge, Zap Cannon, Charge, Discharge, Thunder Wave
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Houndoor, Houndoom (Mega Houndoom stays Dark/Fire)
Type: Poison / Fire
Justification: Someone submitted this earlier but changed it to Magmortar, though the explanation was really solid so I'm swiping it haha. Hondoom's fire "contains toxins" that cause an eternal burn. It already learns Sludge Bomb and Smog, so this really isn't a stretch, especially when consider that being associated with death makes just as much sense for Poison as it does for Dark. The Mega remains Dark to satisfy the unique types rule, but regardless it looks much more menacing and "evil" so Dark is a better fit for it.
New Moves: Sludge Wave, Poison Fang, Acid Spray
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Skuntank
Type: Poison/Fire
Justification: Already learns a ton of Fire Type attacks, and I personally thing it be funny with irony to the explosion and bomb references with farts. (I went there)
New Moves: Overheat
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Qwilfish
Type: Poison/Ice
Justification: Qwilfish's spikes are similar enough in appearance to icicles (imagine Qwilfish shooting out Icicle Spears!) and the original Water type transitions well into being replaced by the Ice type. As the case of Dragalge, pokemon can still be aquatic even if it lost the Water type. It can still have Swift Swim to retain the aquatic nature of its habitat and patch up the new Fire weakness in the rain, as well as giving it a pseudo-Water STAB in the rain especially against the now dangerous Rock/Ground types it may face. Flavour-wise, its spikes can now deliver a cold, numbing sting before the poison is injected which makes it even more dangerous. For a poison-type, it's colour scheme is friendly enough to become an Ice type with the blue body an it can already learn some Ice moves such as Hail, Haze and Ice Beam so the new Ice type isn't that far off. It also can gain Ice type versions of moves it already knows such as Rollout -> Ice Ball, Revenge-> Avalanche and Aqua Jet -> Ice Shard.

At the very least the new type will give the often forgotten Pokemon a new limelight.
New Moves: Icicle Spear, Ice Ball, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear, Avalanche
Removed Moves: Scald
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Heatmor
Type: Fire/Poison
Justification:
Its designs looks very mechanical/inorganic and furnace-like more than the anteater part so it can work as Poison type. It can already learn moves like Gastro Acid and Belch, which leads me to my next point: just imagine properties of Swalot and its digestion theme with Heatmor for the new type. Gluttony is already one of Heatmor's abilities and it can work with Belch which will now get STAB. White smoke also fits with flavour as smoke can be harmful to the lungs.
New Moves: Clear Smog, Smog, Sludge Bomb, Gunk Shot, Sludge Wave, Acid Spray, Venoshock
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

->

Name(s): Ekans->Arbok
Type: Poison/Electric
Justification:
Snakes are similar to electric cables in looks and just imagine the poison has a stunning effect on the nervous system, so it's not too farfetched to combine the idea of poisonous snakes with electric properties. It already learns Thunder Fang as Arbok, and it has a yellow/purple colour scheme, mostly seen as Ekans- which is also when the body shape is most similar to electric wiring. Also, if you add an Electric element to the designs, Arbok's intimidating patterns could potentially be something that glows (think Watchog reflective vest idea) which creates more effective intimidation strategies AND gives the whole different belly patterns a much more interesting angle. Ekans eyes would also be more intimidating if it glows and they kind of look like evil headlights as is. If anything, it would be fun to use an Intimidate Arbok with Volt Switch as you absorb your enemy's Toxic Spikes.
New Moves: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Spark, Wild Charge, Eerie Impulse
Removed Moves: None

Name(s): Tentacruel
Type: Electric / Poison
Justification: Jellyfish are often associated with electricity (For some reason) and Tentacruel is a jellyfish itself, so why not make it an electric type? Tentacruel also has base 100 speed, which could be considered to be on par with other Electric types, as well as glowing body parts, another common feature of Electric types. Also, there is nothing really special here by me removing the water type from a water type sea creature opon evolving, since Dragalge does the same thing. The new moves here are to add onto its new electric type and the moves Hydro Pump, Brine, and Scald are removed since Tentacool doesn't learn them past the level of evolving and typically only water types get these moves.
New Moves: Thunderbolt, Thunder, Discharge, Charge Beam, Wild Charge, Volt Switch, Magnet Rise, Electroweb
Removed Moves: Brine, Scald, Hydro Pump
Altered Abilities: None

As a reminder, voting for Slate 1 ends in two days, so if you haven't voted yet, you should! One of the categories is pretty much locked up, but for the other two, only 3 and 4 points separate first and second place. One or two people could make all the difference!

No one has voted for 3 days, so 6 hours early I'm going to announce the...
SLATE 1 WINNERS
Yanmega (by The Reptile)

Bug/Flying -> Bug/Dragon
+ Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Outrage, Dragon Rush
- Air Slash (Yanma also loses this)
Pros: Loses x4 Stealth Rock weakness, gains additional resistances/neutralities, Tinted Lens Draco Meteor (!!)
Cons: Has more trouble with Fairy types, no longer has an immunity, still struggles with Steels

Dunsparce (by Eevee General)

Normal -> Normal/Dragon
+ Dragon Tail, Draco Meteor, Dragon Rush, Dragon Pulse, Outrage
- Ice Beam, Blizzard
Pros: Gains actual resistances, now has 2 STAB options, can possibly pull off a bulky phasing set

Cons: Has 2 more weaknesses, new STAB doesn't benefit from Serene Grace, stats are still underwhelming

Scrafty (+Scraggy) (by Stitch98)

Dark/Fighting -> Dragon/Fighting
+ Draco Meteor, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Earthquake (Scraggy doesn't get Earthquake)
Pros: Bulky Intimidate sets appreciate new resistances, Earthquake lets it muscle through checks
Cons: Misses STAB Knock Off, struggles even worse against Fairies, doesn't benefit from new Special moves
(I added Scraggy for consistency, no real impact)

Feel free to discuss the impact of these new additions to the metagame below. Personally, I think Yanmega will make a splash, Scrafty will benefit more on its defensive sets than its offensive sets (no Knock Off STAB is honestly a huge nerf) and Dunsparce...well, it's Dunsparce. It's better than before, but why would you use this over other Dragons? The Ghost immunity isn't that much of a boon, and others like Zygarde get Coil/Glare.

SLATE 2 VOTING

Time for the second voting stage! PM me (don't post it in the thread please) three choices for each of the type combinations, and then give each choice 1-3 points. You have one +3, one +2, and one +1 to give for each type. Just list the submission name under the type, and give it the points in parenthesis like so:

Poison + Ice: Cubchoo/Beartic (+3), Cloyster (+2), Vanilluxe (+1)
Poison + Electric: Eelektross (+3), Manectric (+2), Tentacruel (+1)
Poison + Fire: Koffing/Weezing (+3), Houndoom/Houndour (+2), Mega Camerupt (+1)

What you're actually voting for is subjective, but try to focus on things that are actually fitting first, then consider which ones a particularly cool and/or viable. Here are the valid submissions by type:

Name(s): Vanilluxe
Type: Ice / Poison
Justification: I dunno, ice cream is junk food, and junk food is poison? Already learns Acid Armor anyway. To be honest, there aren't really many existing Poison or Ice types that fit the bill for a Poison / Ice type, so this is the best I could come up with.
New Moves: Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: Weak Armor replaced with Poison Point.

Name(s)
: Cloyster
Type: Poison/Ice
Justification: Everybody knows of shellfish poisoning; many people who read this may have suffered from it themselves. Many specie of shellfish are filter-feeders, and as a result accumulate toxic agents produced by the plankton and algae that they consume, making them incredibly dangerous. Clams and other bivalves in particular are often associated with this poisonous diet, and as stated right in its Pokedex entry, Cloyster is "the Bivalve Pokemon." In addition, Cloyster is naturally capable of learning the move Toxic Spikes, which as we all know is a very obnoxious entray hazard that poisons Pokemon who enter the field. It is also capable of learning Poison Jab and Toic via TM, though the latter is not unusual since the majority of Pokemon can learn it as well.
New Moves: Poison Sting, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Cross Poison, Sludge Wave
Removed Moves: Clamp, Whirlpool, Brine
Altered Abilities: Shell Armor -> Poison Point

Name(s): Nidoqueen
Type: Poison/Ice
Justification: One of the only Poison-types to learn Blizzard, Ice Punch, Ice Beam and Icy Wind, and is the only naturally Poison-type (with Nidoking) to learn Avalanche. This also makes Nidoqueen more different to Nidoking, and its coloration is also quite ice-like, being blue and white-ish.
New Moves: Icicle Crash
Removed Moves: Drill Run
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Regigigas
Type: Ice/Poison
Justification: It's a bit of a stretch, but Regigigas' first appearance in the series was in a frozen temple in the frozen north, apparently completely comfortable with temperatures sufficiently freezing that outdoors it's usually Hailing, and comfortable with such temperatures for who knows how many centuries. Meanwhile, in spite of being made of clay or something, it only has a little bit of moss -some apparently having grown out of the ground onto its feet, and two small patches on its top- growing on it, and unlike Regice and Registeel it's not indicated to be made of any unusually resilient material capable of fending plants off for thousands of years. (Regirock cheats and just picks up random stones to fix itself) So, I'm imagining it's somehow toxic.
New Moves: Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb (Kakuna and Weedle are the only Poison types that don't get it) Ice Punch, Ice Beam (Rotom-Frost is literally the only Ice type to not know Ice Beam), Blizzard. (No exceptions)
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):

Name(s): Qwilfish
Type: Poison/Ice
Justification: Qwilfish's spikes are similar enough in appearance to icicles (imagine Qwilfish shooting out Icicle Spears!) and the original Water type transitions well into being replaced by the Ice type. At the very least the new type will give the often forgotten Pokemon a new limelight.
New Moves: Icicle Spear, Ice Ball, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear, Avalance
Removed Moves: Scald
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Eelektross
Type: Electric / Poison
Justification: The blood of eels is known to be toxic to mammals, including humans. In addition to this, its pre-evolution, Eelektris learns several Poison-type moves by level-up.
New Moves: Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Poison Jab, Poison Fang
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Grimer, Muk
Type: Poison/Electric
Justification: They are able to know Thunder, Thunderbolt, Thunder Punch and Shock Wave, and are the only pure-Poison types that are able to. Grimer and Muk are also found in the Power Plant in Pokemon Yellow.
New Moves: Eerie Impulse, Magnet Rise, Charge Beam, Ion Deluge
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Manectric (and Mega Manectric by extension)
Type: Electric/Poison
Justification: Manectric is partly based on Raijuu, which in some Japanese folklore is described as being able to release poisonous gases.
New Moves: Poison Gas, Poison Sting, Poison Fang, Poison Jab, Smog, Venoshock, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave,
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Porygon, Porygon2, Porygon-Z.
Type: Poison/Electric
Justification: It's inorganic, yet not Rock or Steel type. I have difficulty imagining that vectors are delicious and nutritious, even if that's a bit of a stretch of the Poison type. The Electric typing is a bit more obvious: it's a program. Plus, it learns pretty much everything Electric types normally learn anyway, like Thunder Wave...also Eelektross was already taken. :(
New Moves: Sludge Bomb. (See Regigigas)
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
Jolteon
Type: Electric / Poison
Justification: Pretend its fur is tipped with poison.
New Moves: Sludge Bomb, Poison Sting, Poison Fang, Smog, Toxic Spikes

Removed Moves: Brine, Scald, Hydro Pump
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
Koffing + Weezing
Type: Poison / Fire
Justification: It has access to Fire moves by default, and its design reminds me of some form of mine. Plus, its toxic gases might be hot, considering both its Fire-type moves in its movepool and the fact that it can float (Heat rises, after all. I know that's a bit shaky but go with it). Poison / Fire is an interesting type with a lot of problems, but one of those big problems is cured by Weezings ability Levitate. While it gets some new weaknesses, it also gets some nice resists - for one, this thing can basically wall Scizor now, along with some other things. The great thing about Weezing is that I basically don't need to give it any move outside of Overheat and Solar Beam (something all Fire-types get) because of how Fire correlates with its movepool already (it even has Sunny Day already, which to me makes no sense but hey Gen 1 has some weird movepools).
New Moves: Overheat, Solar Beam
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Magmortar
Type: Fire / Poison
Justification: Its level-up moves include Smog, and Clear Smog, both of which are Poison-type moves.
New Moves: Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb, Gunk Shot
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Torkoal
Type: Fire/Poison
Justification: Torkoal is clearly based on an oven or furnace, and is always depicted as giving off clouds of smoke. According to its name, we can assume that these clouds are coal smoke, which is a very thick, choking substance that is in fact a primary source of mercury in the environment thanks to industrialization. Mercury is a highly toxic substance, and was known to drive people who absorbed too much of it insane. Torkoal also has a smattering of Poison-type moves in its movepool, most notably Smog, Clear Smog, and Sludge Bomb.
New Moves: Poison Gas, Sludge, Belch
Removed Moves: Fire Spin, Flail
Altered Abilities: N/A

Name(s): Heatmor
Type: Poison/Fire
Justification: The only Fire-type that isn't in the Magmortar evolutionary line to learn Belch through breeding, a Poison-type move. It is also based on Anteaters, which in some cases have poison glands.
New Moves: Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb, Gunk Shot, Poison Jab, Acid Spray, Clear Smog
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Skuntank
Type: Poison/Fire
Justification: It already learns quite an amount of Fire-type moves, even learning Flamethrower naturally.
New Moves: Fire Fang, Flare Blitz, Heat Wave, Will-O-Wisp
Removed Moves: Memento, Dark Pulse
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
Mega Camerupt
Type: Fire/Poison
Justification: Volcanic ash! Deadly fumes! Bury everyone in a cloud of fiery toxic death!
New Moves: Sludge Wave, Sludge Bomb

Voting ends Sunday August 23rd at midnight-ish.

Name(s): Misdreavus and Mismagius
Type: Ghost/Fairy
Justification: Ghost types are often associated with feminine things and magic, and this evolution line is a perfect example of both of these, especially Misdreavus in the former and Mismagius in the latter. They also both already have access to the move Dazzling Gleam, Hell, Ghost/Fairy Mismagius was even a winner for OU theorymon back in the old thread, and it was a really good mon there. Moonblast is given just to give it consistency for Fairy type moves
New Moves: Moonblast
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: N/A

Name(s): Cubone and Marowak
Type: Normal / Ghost
Justification: We all know the story of Cubone and Marowak. Team Rocket kills a Marowak, leaving it's baby Cubone to live by itself with the memories of Team Rocket killing it's mother, where she becomes a wandering ghost in Lavender town. Cubone's relation ship to wearing it's mother's skull as a memento also justifies its part ghost type (Them being a Normal mons the death of Marowak, where Marowak becomes a Ghost and Cubone wearing it's mothers skull as a memento) I decided to give them a normal type since it made the most sense out of all of the types too give them. Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, and Shadow Punch are given to these two to give them a Ghost type attack and Shadow Ball is for flavor
New Moves: Shadow Sneak, Shadow Claw, Shadow Punch, Shadow Ball, Phantom Force

formerly The Reptile

Name(s):
Shuppet, Banette, and Mega Banette
Type: Ghost / Normal
Justification: They're based off an abandoned doll, which to me makes sense as part normal (it was a normal doll before being abandoned and turned into a spook). It would also give Banette a much needed boost in viability, giving it a cool defensive and offensive typing. Because adding Normal doesn't really do much movepool wise, I'm going to leave it and its ability unchanged.
New Moves: None
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
Cofagrigus
Type: Ghost / Rock
Justification: To be honest, when this was first revealed I thought it was going to be Ghost / Rock for sure. It's a sarcophagus (aka its a floating, ghostly stone grave) and you find it in the desert in BW. Sadly, as much as I would like to give it Levitate, Mummy is its signature ability, and it would be wrong for me to remove that. That said, I did give it some Rock-type moves to add to its movepool.
New Moves: Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Power Gem
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
Stantler
Type: Normal / Ghost
Justification: Pokedex entry: "The curved antlers subtly change the flow of air to create a strange space where reality is distorted." By distorting reality, it makes Normal and Fighting-type moves inaffective against it, as if it were actually a ghost.
New Moves: Shadow Sneak, Phantom Force, Destiny Bond, Night Shade
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Spiritomb
Type: Ghost / Rock
Justification: It's a ghost imprisoned in a keystone.
New Moves: Stealth Rock, Rock Slide, Stone Edge
Removed Moves: Sucker Punch, Pursuit
Altered Abilities: Infiltrator -> Solid Rock

As for Ghost/Fairy, the only good candidates I can think of Misdreavus and Mismagius, which have already been done.

Name(s): Sableye (and Mega Sableye by extension)
Type: Rock/Ghost
Justification: Sableye's typing never made sense to me. Its jewel motif, on the other hand, really fits Rock type.
New Moves: Rock Throw, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Ancient Power, Sandstorm
Removed Moves: Feint Attack, Punishment, Foul Play, Quash, Payback
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Castform (and formes)
Type: Normal/Ghost (Fire/Ghost for Sunny Form, Water/Ghost for Rainy Form, Ice/Ghost for Snowy Form)
Justification: Castform is based on teru teru bozus, which looks like bedsheet ghosts. It also already gets quite a few Ghost-type moves.
New Moves: Shadow Sneak, Phantom Force, Destiny Bond
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

I don't have any idea for Ghost/Fairy without making it a huge stretch. so there's that.

Any chance to see the runner-ups? Now I'm curious what was so close to beating Dunsparce.. ^^

Name(s): Regigigas
Type: Normal/Ghost
Justification: Zombie Golem! In a way, the whole Slow Start thing with Regigigas sounds like a zombie rising from slumber if you add the Ghost type to it. Plus the being a Legendary, it has ancient stories and legends associated with it and to me, legends and ghost stories are pretty similar in that they hype something into a supernatural story. Also, it is usually in caves and ruins which are pretty eerie places where Ghosts can reside and has moss growing out of it sort of like a mouldy zombie. It's actually eerie when you think about it and if Golurk the non-legendary golem can be a ghost, I don't see why a legendary pokemon living in ruins can/t be. The added immunity to Fighting, Ghost AND Normal at least gives the golem an easier time switching in, trading it for a single weakness to Dark. Ghost STAB is also better in terms of attacking and can actually hit things for super effective. I thought about adding Shadow Force to its movepool since it's legendary status but I guess Giratina needs its own trademark move while Regigigas also has Crush Grip (lol). Phantom Force will probably do- and I guess it can use up Slow Start turns?
New Moves: Shadow Punch, Phantom Force, Curse, Shadow Sneak, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Lunatone
Type: Rock/Ghost
Justification: The moon is associated the night and ghosts so I replaced the Psychic typing with the new Ghost types. It keeps the Rock type being a meteorite and the new Ghost type still fits because the Dex talks about its eerie eyes instilling fear to people. Levitate still fits with the Ghost type and still removes the Ground weakness which is handy. Actually, with the new typing it loses the Bug weakness and now resists it and has a better secondary STAB which is more spammable than Psychic especially against Steel switch-ins. It also gains the Normal and Fighting immunities which is a better upgrade and at least it has 1 less weakness overall. In terms of movepool, I removed some Psychic moves (which don't really add much, the stronger ones remains as Ghosts can still use moves like Psychic). I added more Ghost STABs as Shadow Ball is the only current Ghost move.
New Moves: Confuse Ray, Shadow Sneak, Night Shade, Nightmare, Destiny Bond, Curse, Spite
Removed Moves: Confusion, Psywave, Future Sight, Psyshock
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
Shuppet-> Banette->Mega Banette
Type: Ghost/Fairy
Justification: Okay Ghost/Fairy Mismagius is wishlisted everywhere but hear me out for an alternative Ghost/Fairy: Faeries are known to be pranksters and not always considered pure and good right? Well who has the ability Prankster that is also a Ghost type? I'd say Mega Banette can be mischievous enough for a Fairy, although there's a bit of vengefulness mixed in with the Ghost type. Dolls are usually associated with happiness and playfulness that is usually associated with the more common image of Fairy types so when the Ghost part mixes with this it can make for an interesting combination. Also these puppet lines could be plausible hanging around Gym Leader Valerie's dollhouse-themed gym and adds a more menacing image to go with other Fairies like Mawile (who can also be plausible but I guess one submission per member is standard?)

Anyway, it can already learn Dazzling Gleam by TM, so I don't see why something like Play Rough is a stretch- and it will have a very useful second STAB to go with the Ghost type with a higher base power, too! Heck, Shuppet looks innocent enough at first so I can see a progression from nicer Fairy moves early on like Play Nice/Baby-Doll Eyes (it has cute enough eyes) then progressing to Play Rough as it evolves. Also, Mega Banette's colour scheme fits the combination of two types well with the black and pink and how nice it would feel for a dragon type to be beaten by a doll!
New Moves: Play Rough, Play Nice, Baby-Doll Eyes, Disarming Voice
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

For Dragon + Normal, Zygarde was 4 votes away, Exploud was 5 votes away and nothing else was close to Dunsparce (10 or more votes away).

Also I'm submitting:

Name(s):
Cubone, Marowak
Type: Rock/Ghost
Justification: Doesn't Rock make more sense to represent bone anyway? They have similar hardness, and during the fossilizing process, the bone is replaced with stone, leaving a rock replica of what the bone once was. "Rock Head" is also a default ability on them. The Ghost connection is obvious, given the death motif and the fact that they're found in a literal graveyard. Plus, the first Marowak you fight is a ghost itself. Lightningrod is out because all users of the ability either have some type of horn to draw the electricity or are immune/resistant to Electric already.
New Moves: Head Smash, Rock Blast, Shadow Claw, Shadow Ball, Curse, Shadow Sneak, Destiny Bond, Spite
Removed Moves: Dig, Earth Power, Mud Slap
Altered Abilities: Lightningrod -> Intimidate

Name(s): Porygon-Z
Type: Normal/Ghost
Justification: This is a popular theorymon, so I'm surprised it hasn't shown up yet. P-Z's Pokedex entries make reference to something going wrong in the upgrading process, causing it to start acting strangely. Based on the description and the animations it has, it almost looks like P-Z is possessed, by a computer virus if not a literal ghost. Look at those eyes and tell me it isn't possessed. Mostly people that wanted this in the past just want great Adaptability dual STAB, but the theory behind it makes sense as well.
New Moves: Hex, Curse, Destiny Bond, Shadow Sneak, Spite
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Klefki
Type: Fairy/Ghost
Justification: Speaking of possession, Klefki always seemed a bit..."off" to me. Why do you find it on the routes where all the haunted trees and pumpkins are? Continuing the trend of inanimate object Pokemon being the result of spirit possession (Aegislash, Cofagrigus, Banette, Chandelure, Rotom), I think Klefki should be a Ghost type. The sound of rattling metal in the night is a common ghost-story trope, and Klefki is certainly creepy enough to fit the bill. And just because a Pokemon is made of metal doesn't mean it has to be Steel type (Electrode, Rotom-Appliance, etc.)
New Moves: Shadow Ball, Hex, Curse, Destiny Bond, Shadow Sneak, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, Spite
Removed Moves: Mirror Shot, Flash Cannon, Iron Defense
Altered Abilities: None

And just because it has metal parts doesn't mean it has to be Steel type -- see Blastoise, for instance.
.... but Klefki is 100% metal?

Anyway.

Name(s): Dusknoir
Type: Ghost/Normal
Justification: Dusknoir's always struck me as weirdly different from Duskull and Dusclops -where Duskull is a skull-faced ghost with one eye, and Dusclops is a one-eyed mummy ghost (So two variations on the obviously dead), Dusknoir has become a psychopomp of some kind, albeit still one-eyed. While Normal is often associated with normality, Normal is also the go-to type for when something doesn't quite fit any of the other types... and a psychopomp is something other than just a Ghost, but it's certainly not a Fairy type, Dragon type, etc. So Dusclops puts on its Reaper Cloth and ascends to a better typing!
New Moves: None.
Removed Moves: None.
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Gardevoir, Mega Gardevoir
Type: Fairy/Ghost
Justification: Gardevoir seems to be based in part on myriad myths about strange, distant women-creatures that are ghosts or spirits of some kind. The line's presence in the Amorphous Egg Group is particularly conspicuous -most people would expect to find it in Human-Shape with the likes of Alakazam, but instead it's in with most of the Ghosts and a few Poison types, and can even be bred several Ghost-distinctive moves, including Pain Split, Will O Wisp, and Shadow Sneak. Honestly? I'm kind of surprised it wasn't a Ghost in the first place, even with the emotion-sensing horn thing.
New Moves: Spite (Golurk and Hoopa are the only Ghosts that don't get it), Hex, Curse. (The myths I'm thinking of tend to involve Bad Ends for those who follow the spirits -even if Gardevoir is instead ludicrously loyal)
Removed Moves: Future Sight (Dusknoir's line is the only Ghost to get it) and Synchronoise. (Exclusively available to Psychic and Honorary Psychic Pokemon)
Altered Abilities: Trace and Synchronize are replaced with Pressure and Levitate. (Porygon2/-Z are the only non-Psychic Tracers in the entire game, and they are blatant Honorary Psychic in their movepool, while Umbreon is the only non-Psychic Pokemon with Synchronize, which clearly has to do with being Espeon's dark counterpart. Curiously, Telepathy is actually found on several non-Psychic Pokemon, some of whom otherwise have no indication of psychic ability -why does Noivern get Telepathy, anyway? Anyway, Pressure is semi-common on Ghost types and vaguely plausible, while Levitate is, again, semi-common on Ghost types and inspired by the semi-floating effect we see on Kirlia and, in some animations, on Gardevoir itself)

I also considered removing Psyshock, but I was surprised at how many non-Psychic Pokemon actually get it, even ignoring Honorary Psychics.

.... I was originally going to do Ghost/Rock, too, but everything I think fits has already been done. I briefly considered Golem (Why does Geodude float??), but eh...

.... but Klefki is 100% metal?
I mean, arguably so are Rotom-Wash and the other appliances (EDIT: and Electrode?). If I had to choose, I'd make it Ghost/Steel instead, but that's not on the slate.

EDIT: Also, for your submission, what happens to Gallade?

Oh, right, Gallade. Well, it becomes Ghost/Fighting. Thankfully, Fighting/Psychic is already covered by Medicham, so I'm not indirectly breaking rules.

... and I guess I need to specify that Gallade gets Shadow Claw if I want it to have dual-STAB.

Stop being so complicated, split-off evolutions! (I kind of want to do Glalie for Rock/Ghost, but oh man that would be hell to work out)

It might be easier to just take Raltz and Kirlia off the submission. That way you don't create a unique typing with Gallade (Fairy/Fighting or Ghost/Fighting) and Gallade still retains one of the types of its pre-evolutions (Psychic). Both of its possible types will be in future slates, so I don't want to take away that opportunity if Gardevoir wins this slate. Gard is definitely the most ghostly of them, anyway.

Welp, vacations sure put you behind... (All the good submissions ideas I had prepared are taken ;;)
Anyway, here are my submissions:

Name(s): Lickitung, Lickilicky
Type: Normal/Ghost
Justification: Seems like a stretch, yes, but when you think about it, it sorta makes sense? Anyway, they are pretty much the 'licking' Pokemon, and 'Lick' is a Ghost type move. Also, I'm pretty sure in some cultures there are ghosts that lick people, so these Pokemon can be a decent fit.
New Moves: Shadow Punch, Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Relicanth
Type: Rock/Ghost
Justification: How did Relicanth survive for so long? Is it a zombie? It's colouration is almost zombie-like in a way too, and it is possible for Water-weak Pokemon to live in the sea, like the Armaldo family.
New Moves: Shadow Sneak, Destiny Bond, Curse, Shadow Ball, Phantom Force
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s):
(Mega) Sableye
Type: Ghost/Fairy
Justification: Gems in Pokemon are associated with two types; Rock and Fairy. As Ghost/Rock Sableye has been taken, Ghost/Fairy Sableye is justified in a similar way. It is also one of the few Ghost-types to learn Dazzling Gleam, and the only Ghost-type to learn the Fairy-type move Moonlight. It is also a counterpart to Mawile, and would makes sense if they shared a type.
New Moves: Play Rough, Crafty Shield, Moonblast, Baby-Doll Eyes
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

picksome

Banned deucer.
Name(s): Patrat, Watchog
Type: Normal/Ghost
Justification: Random typing time! The reason why these fit Normal/Ghost is because the eyes sort of tell that it has lost it's spirit, leaving a ghostly form. It's bright glowing patterns kinda remind of mysterious lights that would be sometimes be sighted in ghost encounters.
New Moves: Shadow Claw, Phantom Force, Curse, Shadow Sneak, Destiny Bond, Spite
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Spritzee, Aromatisse
Type: Fairy/Ghost
Justification: Since it may have been based off Plague Doctors, which were seen during the Dark Ages, a time of death, it can be seen as sort of a plague doctor spirit. It sort of fits Dark/Fairy more, but I picked it. Still, in my perspective, it is the spirit of a Plauge Doctor. Spritzee is also a Ghost/Fairy due to being a pre-evolution of it and also the Shiny coloring looks like a flying spirit.
New Moves: Hex, Curse, Destiny Bond, Spite, Confuse Ray, Shadow Ball, Grudge, Night Shade
Removed Moves: None
Altered Abilities: None

Name(s): Golem
Type: Rock/Ghost
Justification: While it is a little strange that this is a thing, but it maybe be a possessed being surrounded by rocks. Golem's name is, obviously, based off the Hebrew legend of a inanimate object coming to life. Imagine this Golem was form out of rocks and possessed by a ghost. Therefore, it does make scene that it could be a Ghost type. I replaced Sand Veil with Cursed Body as well, it does not fit.
New Moves: Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Destiny Bond, Grudge, Hex, Shadow Punch, Head Smash, Shadow Ball, Ice Punch
Removed Moves: Mud Sport, Magnitude, Earth Power, Brick Break
Altered Abilities: Sand Veil -> Cursed Body

Name(s):
Cranidos, Rampardos
Type: Rock/Ghost
Justification: You know what always really, really bothered me? How Cranidos and Rampardos are the only fossil Pokemon that don't get secondary types. And you have to admit, giving Ghost-type to something that used to be dead does make a degree of sense. While admittedly Ghost doesn't have many Physical moves to go off of Rampardos' 165 base Attack stat, Shadow Claw and Phantom Force hit damn hard, and Shadow Sneak gives the big guy some much needed priority.
New Moves: Shadow Claw, Shadow Punch, Shadow Sneak, Phantom Force, Grudge
Removed Moves: N/A
Altered Abilities: N/A

Name(s):
Pumpkaboo, Gourgeist
Type: Ghost/Fairy
Justification: Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist are clearly based on Jack'o'lanterns. While this makes Ghost/Grass make good sense for the two of them, their origin alongside the move Trick-or-Treat ties them directly to Halloween; in fact, Trick-or-Treat's Japanese name is Halloween. While modern Halloween is a holiday full of spooks and specters, the origins of it are deeply rooted in old pagan traditions. Derived from harvest festivals and various other celebrations, many of which included honoring sprites, fae, and other spirits of the forest/harvest. Additionally, Pumpkaboo is said to be a spirit that leads other spirits to the places they belong, similar to a will-o-wisp. Gourgeist is more malevolent in nature, luring victims in with its eerie singing and then capturing them, which is very much in keeping with the old stories of faeries who would kidnap people.
New Moves: Disarming Voice, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Baby-Doll Eyes, Play Rough, Moonlight, Fairy Lock, Flower Shield
Removed Moves: N/A
Altered Abilities: N/A

Name(s):
Chingling, Chimecho
Type: Normal/Ghost
Justification: I don't know about you guys, but Chimecho has always felt more like a Ghost-type to me than a Psychic-type. It lives atop Mt. Pyre, a place where Pokemon are buried and where many other Ghost-types can be found, it has a hollow body, and in many cultures bells are often associated with death or the spirits of the dying, as is referenced by the bell atop the Celestial Tower in Unova.
New Moves: Boomburst, Hex, Ominous Wind, Shadow Ball, Confuse Ray, Destiny Bond, Encore, Roar, Sing
Removed Moves: Yawn, Double-Edge
Altered Abilities: N/A
