Scrafty

[OVERVIEW]

Scrafty is the best Dragon Dance sweeper in RarelyUsed thanks to its combination of bulk, powerful STAB moves, and overall versatility in viable coverage moves, items, and abilities. Its diverse movepool allows it to customize its sets to be able to beat a myriad of checks, while its item and ability let it fare better against certain playstyles. Its Dark / Fighting typing allows it to check Psychic- and Dark-type Pokemon such as Choice-locked Delphox and Meloetta, Sigilyph, Sneasel, Drapion, and Houndoom. It should be noted, however, that most Psychic-types will probably run a move to deal with Scrafty, such as Focus Blast or Dazzling Gleam. Moreover, Scrafty's typing means that it struggles against Fairy-types and other Fighting-types. Scrafty's biggest drawback is its base 58 Speed, which means it is still outsped by every relevant Choice Scarf user in the tier, even after a Dragon Dance boost.

Moves
========

Dragon Dance raises Scrafty's Attack and Speed by one stage each, allowing it to become a powerful and fast sweeper if left unchecked. High Jump Kick is Scrafty's main STAB attack, due to its high 130 Base Power, smashing everything that doesn't resist it. Knock Off is a secondary STAB attack that hits Ghost-and Psychic-types that might switch in to High Jump Kick, such as Cofagrigus and Sigilyph. Iron Head is used to hit Fairy-types super effectively. Alternatively, Head Smash can be used to hit Flying-types such as Fletchinder and Togetic for super effective damage instead while also dealing almost as much damage as Iron Head does against Fairy-types. Drain Punch can provide a method of recovery while also functioning as a Fighting-type STAB move, but the lack of power means Scrafty will miss out on key OHKOs on Pokemon such as Durant after Stealth Rock damage and Virizion.

Set Details
========

Maximum investment in Attack and Speed allows Scrafty to be as fast and powerful as possible. A Jolly nature allows Scrafty to outspeed some of its checks such as Virizion and Durant after it uses Dragon Dance once, while an Adamant nature makes Scrafty stronger, but it will become slower than base 100 Speed Pokemon even after a boost. Moxie raises Scrafty's Attack every time it KOes a Pokemon, which eases setup, as it boosts Scrafty's damage output without using Dragon Dance. Intimidate may be used to mitigate the damage Scrafty receives from switching into a physical attack; with it, Scrafty can avoid the 2HKO from Choice Scarf Flygon's Outrage. Alternatively, Shed Skin gives Scrafty a 33% chance to heal itself from status ailments, allowing it to forgo Lum Berry and fare better against more passive answers to it such as Alomomola and Amoonguss. Lum Berry is used so that Scrafty can heal itself from status conditions once, giving it a free opportunity to set up or go for an attack against status inducers. If Scrafty is using Shed Skin, Life Orb can be used to boost Scrafty's damage output. Leftovers can be run in conjunction with Substitute to avoid status ailments. Coba, Roseli, and Chople Berries are also viable, as they allow Scrafty to take reduced damage from one super effective attack, allowing it to deal with Pokemon that are supposed to check it. Specifically, Coba Berry lets Scrafty deal with Fletchinder, Roseli Berry improves its matchup against Aromatisse and Togetic, and Chople Berry gives it a chance against Fighting-types that lack priority moves.

Usage Tips
========

Scrafty should attempt to use Knock Off early-game against Pokemon such as Togetic or to cripple teams in general, which makes late-game sweeping much easier. A safe way to bring Scrafty in is by using slow U-turn or Volt Switch users such as Eelektross and Uxie, respectively, as its typing tends to force out Pokemon with an unfavorable matchup against it. Scrafty should also attempt to set up on Pokemon that lack the coverage or power necessary to KO it, such as Jellicent, Bronzong, and Sneasel, although the latter can dent Scrafty with Low Kick. Unless Scrafty uses Shed Skin, it should be careful of status ailments such as burn and paralysis, as they can prevent it from sweeping properly. It should be noted that Scrafty is rather slow, meaning it is still susceptible to revenge killers even after using Dragon Dance.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock from Mega Steelix, Rhyperior, and Seismitoad and Spikes from Qwilfish and Accelgor is helpful, as it can weaken Scrafty's checks and counters, making them much easier to handle. Uxie receives a special mention, as it provides Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave support while also being able to pivot into Scrafty with U-turn. Psychic-types such as Delphox, Meloetta, and Sigilyph are great teammates overall, as they can beat Fighting- and Poison-types that Scrafty struggles with, while Scrafty can handle Dark-types to an extent. Mega Steelix, Durant, and Amoongus are greatly appreciated to deal with Fairy-types. Partners that deal with Fletchinder, which easily revenge kills Scrafty, such as Rhyperior, Omastar, and Eelektross are helpful as well. Wallbreakers that can pave the way for Scrafty to sweep and clear through the likes of Alomomola, Tangrowth, and Quagsire, which can all burn Scrafty or in Tangrowth's case, KO it, are appreciated; examples include Exploud, Meloetta, and Mega Glalie. Venomoth has a very favorable matchup against most defensive Pokemon that can OHKO or cripple Scrafty with status, such as Fairy-types, Tangrowth, and Alomomola, while Scrafty can check Psychic-types for Venomoth.

[SET]

move 4: Poison Jab / Head Smash

ability: Intimidate
nature: Adamant
evs: 156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Scrafty's main STAB attack, due to its huge 130 Base Power. It should be used carefully, as Scrafty will lose 50% of its total health if it misses, the foe uses Protect, or a Ghost-type switches into it. Knock Off is a secondary STAB attack that hits Ghost- and Psychic-types that might switch in to High Jump Kick. Drain Punch, although weaker than High Jump Kick, has the added bonus of healing Scrafty. Poison Jab is used to hit Fairy-types while also having a chance of poisoning the foe. Head Smash can be used instead to pressure Flying-type switch-ins such as Fletchinder and Togetic, and it deals nearly as much damage as Poison Jab to Fairy-types. Alternatively, Sleep Talk allows Scrafty to switch into Venomoth's Sleep Powder or Amoonguss's Spore and still be able to attack.

Set Details
========

Running an Adamant nature and maximum Attack investment allows Scrafty to hit as hard as possible. The EVs in Speed allow it to outspeed defensive Hitmontop and Alomomola. The remaining EVs are put into HP for added bulk. Intimidate helps mitigate the damage Scrafty receives from switching into a physical attack. Moxie can be used for continuous sweeping after KOing a Pokemon, but Scrafty will tend to be forced out due to its susceptibility to being revenge killed, making Intimidate more consistent. Choice Band is used in order to increase Scrafty's overall power.

Usage Tips
========

Because Scrafty is a wallbreaker, it should used early- and mid-game to dent the opponent's team as much as possible. Scrafty should be sent out against physical attackers that lack an attack that hits it super effectively or are Choice-locked into a move that hits it for neutral or resisted damage, such as Reckless Emboar's Flare Blitz, Tyrantrum's Head Smash and Outrage, Flygon's Earthquake and Outrage, and Durant's Iron Head. High Jump Kick is Scrafty's go-to attack, because it does a lot of damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. Knock Off should be used if you predict the opponent will switch to a Pokemon that resists High Jump Kick. Because Scrafty is slow, it would be optimal to bring it in with a slow U-turn or Volt Switch from Uxie or Eelektross.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock from Mega Steelix, Rhyperior, and Seismitoad and Spikes from Qwilfish and Accelgor is helpful, as it wears down the opponent's Pokemon on the switch, making them easier for Scrafty to tear through. Paralysis support from Uxie and Druddigon, which also manage to provide Stealth Rock support, is appreciated, as Scrafty is rather slow on its own. Setup sweepers such as Virizion, Meloetta, Tyrantrum, and Houndoom appreciate Scrafty's wallbreaking capabilities, seeing as it also handles physical attackers that these Pokemon struggle with. Late-game sweepers such as Fletchinder, Delphox, and Jolteon also appreciate Scrafty being able to punch holes through the opposing team, making cleaning up much easier.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Assault Vest in conjunction with Power-Up Punch can be used to increase Scrafty's already high Special Defense while giving it another method to increase its Attack, but it misses out on the more convenient Attack boosts provided by Dragon Dance and Choice Band and also has a very unfavorable matchup against offensive teams. Bulk Up can be used as a more defensive means of setting up, but the lack of Speed boosts means that Scrafty will have a harder time dealing with more offensive threats, aside from being completely outclassed by RestTalk Malamar. Iron Tail can be used over Iron Head or Poison Jab for higher damage against Fairy-types, although it's unreliable due to its 75% accuracy. Ice Punch and Thunder Punch can be options for coverage against Flying-types and, for the former, Flygon and bulky Grass-types such as Tangrowth and Amoonguss.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-type**: Aromatisse, Togetic, and Granbull resist both of Scrafty's STAB moves and can easily KO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own, but they should be careful when switching in on a super effective attack. In Togetic's case, having its Eviolite discarded by Scrafty's Knock Off is very detrimental to it. Dazzling Gleam from the likes of Delphox, Meloetta, Sigilyph and, to a lesser extent, Colbur Berry Mesprit can OHKO Scrafty unless it is carrying a Roseli Berry.

**Revenge Killers**: Due to Scrafty having a rather low base 58 Speed, powerful Choice Scarf users carrying super effective moves, such as Delphox, Tyrantrum, Durant, and Emboar, can easily OHKO Scrafty if they're given a free switch. Mach Punch and Fletchinder's Acrobatics easily KO Scrafty once it has been slightly weakened. Keep in mind that this can be avoided when Scrafty is using a Chople or Coba Berry, respectively.

**Fighting-types**: Faster Fighting-types such as Medicham, Virizion, Emboar, and Hitmonlee can switch into Knock Off and OHKO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own. Hitmontop can switch into Scrafty while also reducing its Attack with Intimidate; it can then proceed to heavily damage Scrafty with Close Combat. Gurdurr can tank one High Jump Kick and retaliate with Drain Punch, or it can finish Scrafty off with Mach Punch, if Scrafty is weak enough.

**Poison-types**: Qwilfish reduces Scrafty's Attack with Intimidate, and can Taunt it prevent it from using Dragon Dance, although Qwilfish can't damage Scrafty back thoroughly unless it uses Scald. Amoonguss can use Clear Smog to get rid of Scrafty's boosts. While both Pokemon resist Scrafty's Fighting-type moves, they should still be wary of Knock Off.

**Status Conditions**: Paralysis makes Scrafty even slower than it already is, while burn and poison wear it down faster, with the former also halving Scrafty's Attack.

Not QC but

I think Lum + Moxie deserves a slash in DD imo and i also feel that Bulk Up is OO at best.

this is probably how i'd like to see the dd set organized. drain punch and substitute can get mentions in moves, but specifically in the final moveslot. resist berries (chople is my personal favorite, but i've seen roseli also used decently) and lefties (in conjunction w/sub) deserve mentions, but not a main set thing. you can't really /not/ run hjk, as otherwise you're not hitting hard enough overall, so i wouldn't consider dd / drain punch / knock / coverage as a feasible option. head smash is rather good in that, while it can burn scrafty out a bit, it also beats through flying-type checks, usually after a previous knock off (fletch dies switching in ofc, togetic and golbat die to +1 head smash after eviolite is removed on the first exchange), and it retains similar dmg v.faeries. i think shed skin is by far the worst ability on this bc the only thing is does is give the player the window to cross their fingers and hope they get bailed out of a scald burn, which can be circumvented with lum, sub, or simply not playing it haphazardly into bulky waters. point being, it encourages needlessly risky play, which i dislike when you have abilities as consistent as intimidate, which has a spanning list of applications, most notably allowing it turns to set up on a bunch of lighter offensive 'mons, even grabbing that needed boost on a non-explosion glalie, sneasel, etc.

Choice Band isn't very good IMO - poor Speed and average attack make it a lesser option. Likewise, Moxie and Shed Skin are more useful on the Dragon Dance set than Intimidate to make Scrafty a powerhouse and cure burns respectively.

I've come to the conclusion that I might as well add all 3 abilities to the Dragon Dance set rather, seeing as each of them has their uses, going from moxie, to intimidate, to shed skin

e: mentioning Shed Skin on OO regarding DD set

I definitely agree with 49 and -kal- that Moxie + Lum Berry needs a bigger mention on the Dragon Dance set. Shed Skin is very inconsistent, and Scrafty will often only need to be cleared of status once. Plus, Moxie is pretty nice to have for a Pokemon that is very dependent on boosts or prior damage to KO opposing Pokemon.

Whats the progress on this Esidisi ? Its been 3 weeks and Scrafty is a really important mon so try to get it out of WIP ASAP.

Not really - it's too slow and weak to use it effectively.
you keep just saying it's too slow/weak but i dont think you understand the point of cb scrafty which is a really good pivot on physical attackers that aren't fighting types/fletch because of intimidate and has pretty decent recovery with banded drain punch
like

-1 252 Atk Flygon Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Scrafty: 81-96 (24.2 - 28.7%) -- 98.1% chance to 4HKO

-1 252 Atk Choice Band Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Scrafty: 102-121 (37.6 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
-1 252 Atk Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Scrafty: 69-81 (25.4 - 29.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
-1 252 Atk Tyrantrum Outrage vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Scrafty: 109-130 (40.2 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

-1 252 Atk Hustle Durant Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Scrafty: 102-121 (30.5 - 36.2%) -- 53.6% chance to 3HKO

meanwhile drain punch heals a lot on any non-fairy switch-in

by no means is it scrafty's best set but it's definitely worth a mention and these vague criticisms aren't really selling ur point

Esidisi i would emphasise resist berries more, especially chople, as so many people rely on scarf durant, hitmonlee, emboar, and medicham to revenge it and chople means you can get another dd really easily and then heal back with +2 drain punch

Examples on what it hits.

Maximum investment in Attack and Speed is chosen allowing Scrafty to be as fast and hit as hard as possible. A Jolly nature allows Scrafty to outspeed some of its checks such as Virizion and Durant after it uses Dragon Dance once, while an Adamant nature is still slower than base 100 Speed Pokemon after a boost. Moxie raises Scrafty's attack every time it KOs a pokemon, which can be benefitial for sweeping. Mention how Moxie can ease setup for Scrafty as it may not need to boost again when it picks a kill against a mon that it usually cannot OHKO.

Usage Tips
========

Scrafty should take advantage of its high base defenses in order to set up on Pokemon that cannot damage it consistently. A safe way to bring Scrafty in is by using a slow U-turn or Volt Switch, as its typing tends to force out Pokemon with an unfavorable match up against it. Unless Scrafty uses Shed Skin, it should be careful of status as burn and paralysis can shut it down.

Mention how even with Scrafty at +1, it is still susceptible to revenge killers. Mention Scrafty's early-game value which is the ability to freely click Knock Off from the likes of Togetic or to cripple the opponent's team in general to be able to potentially beat it late-game when it attempts to sweeps. Mention when are Scrafty's most ideal way to setup (on Bronzong, Jellicent, Sneasel, etc.)

Team Options

Entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock from Steelix, Rhyperior, and Seismitoad and Spikes from Qwilfish an Accelgor is helpful as it can weaken Scrafty's checks and counters, making them much easier to handle. Venomoth has a favorable matchup against most defensive Pokemon that wall Scrafty, such as Fairy-types, Venomoth, and Amoonguss. Reword this as it looks really weird but i guess thats GP's problem ;)
Partners that deal with Fletchinder, which easily revenge kills Scrafty, such as Rhyperior, Omastar and Eelektross are helpful as well.

Mention partners that deals with physically fatter mons that Scrafty can't really break (think Quagsire, Tangrowth, Alomomola at +1) as they may cripple Scrafty with a burn or OHKO it outright before Scrafty can KO them.

An Adamant narure and max investment on Attack EVs allows Scrafty to hit as hard as possible. The EVs in Speed allow it to outspeed defensive Hitmontop, while also managing to outspeed Alomomola and 44 Speed Jellicent The remaining EVs are put on HP for added bulk. Intimidate is the chosen ability as it helps mitigate the damage Scrafty receives from switching in to a physical attack such as avoiding the 2HKO from Choice Scarf Flygon's Outrage. A Choice Band is used in order to increase Scrafty's overall power, while locking it into one move.

I don't think you can mention outspeeding 44 speed Jelli cuz its speed creep which is not allowed. Correct me if i'm wrong. Mention Moxie as an alternate ability to give Scrafty even more fearsome power when it picks off a mon but also state why Intimidate has merits over it.

Usage Tips
========

Seeing as it functions as a wallbreaker, Scrafty should used early- to mid-game to dent the opponent's team as much as possible. It is also advisable to send Scrafty out against physical attackers that lack an attack that hits it super effectively or are Choice locked jnto a move that hits Scrafty for neutral damage. High Jump Kick is your go-to attack, due to the fact that it does a lot of damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. Knock off is an option in the case you predict a switch-in to a Pokemon that resists High Jump Kick. Since it is slow, it would be optimal to bring Scrafty in with a slow U-turn, Volt Switch, or Baton Pass from pokemon such as Uxie, Eelektross, and Togetic.

Give examples of what it switches into such as Tyrantrum locked into Head Smash.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock from Steelix, Rhyperior, and Seismitoad and Spikes from Qwilfish an Accelgor is helpful as it wears down the Pokemon Scrafty is supposed to tear through. Speed control in the form of paralysis from Uxie and Druddigon, who also manage to provide Stealth Rock, and Sticky Web from Kricketune are very appreciated, I really do not like adding Stick Web setters as partners as its hardly a viable playstyle and is mostly matchup reliant. as Scrafty is rather slow on its own. Setup sweepers such as Virizion, Meloetta, Tyrantrum, and Houndoom appreciate Scrafty's wallbreaking capabilities seeing as it also handles physical attackers these Pokemon struggle with. Partners that deal with Fletchinder, which easily revenge kills Scrafty, such as Rhyperior, Omastar and Eelektross are helpful as well.

I'm not really a fan of the last point here seeing as you kinda just c'ped from partners on the DD set so either remove it or add another section of partners. Mention late-game sweepers that benefit from Scrafty's wallbreaking to pave a way for them to sweep.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

An Assault Vest in conjunction with Power-up Punch can be used to increase Scrafty's already high Special Defense while giving it a method to increase with attack, but it misses out on the more convenient Attack boosts provided by Dragon Dance and Choice Band while also having a very unfavorable matchup against offensive teams. Bulk Up can be used as a more defensive means of setup, but the lack of Speed means Scrafty will have a harder time dealing with more offensive threats. Iron Tail can be used over Iron Head or Poison Jab for higher damage against Fairy-types, although it becomes unreliable with 75% accuracy. Ice Punch and Thunder Punch can be options for coverage against Flying-types and, in the case of the former, bulky Grass-typed and Flygon.

Mention that Malamar does a better job if players use the Bulk Up set on Scrafty.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Revenge Killers**: Due to Scrafty having a rather low 58 base Speed, powerful Choice Scarf users carrying super effective moves, such as Delphox, Tyrantrum, Durant and Emboar can easily OHKO Scrafty once given a free switch. Keep in mind that this can be avoided when using a resist berry.

Mention Fletchinder here and also Mach Punch users that can pick off a weakened Scrafty.

**Fairy-types and Fairy-type Moves**: Aromatisse, Togetic, and Granbull, resists both of Scrafty's STAB moves and are easily able to KO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own, but should be careful with switching in on a super effective attack, or in the case of Togetic, have its Eviolite knocked off. Dazzling Gleam from Delphox, Meloetta, Sigilyph and, to a lesser extent, Colbur Berry Mesprit can OHKO Scrafty unless it is carrying a Roseli Berry.

Move this up to the first section in C&C as Fairies are the most reliable way to deal with Scrafty

**Fighting-types**: Faster Fighting-types such as Medicham, Virizion, Emboar and Hitmonlee can switch in to Knock Off and OHKO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own. Hitmontop can switch in to Scrafty while also reducing its Attack by 1 stage, thanks to Intimidate; it can then proceed to heavily damage Scrafty with Close Combat. Gurdurr can tank one High Jump Kick and retaliate with Drain Punch, or finish Scrafty off with Mach Punch, in the case it is weak enough.
**Poison-types**: Qwilfish reduces Scrafty's attack by 1 stage with intimidate, and can taunt it 1 on 1, preventing it to use Dragon Dance. Amoonguss can use Clear Smog and get rid of Scrafty's boosts. While both Pokemon resist Scrafty's Fighting-type moves, they should still be wary of Knock Off.

Mention that Qwilfish is very passive against Scrafty unless it carries Scald

**Status**: Scrafty dislikes being burned or paralyzed, as they prevent it from sweeping effectively.

Specify on how each status infliction can hinder Scrafty.

Alternatively, Shed Skin gives Scrafty a 33% chance to heal itself from status allowing it to forgo Lum Berry and manage against more passive, status-dependent answers to it such as Alomomola and Amoonguss. A Lum Berry is used chosen so that Scrafty can heal itself from status once, giving it a free opportunity to set up or to go for an attack against status users. If Scrafty is using Shed Skin, a Life Orb can be used to boost Scrafty's damage output attack power. Leftovers can be run in conjunction with Substitute in order to avoid status ailments. Coba, Roseli, and Chople Berry are also viable,(AC) as they allow Scrafty to take reduced damage from one super effective attack, allowing it to deal with Pokemon that are supposed to check it such as Fletchinder with Coba Berry, Aromatisse and Togetic with Roseli Berry, and Fighting-types lacking priority with Chople Berry.

Usage Tips
========

Scrafty should attempt to use Knock Off early-game against Pokemon such as Togetic or to cripple teams in general, which makes late-game sweeping much easier. A safe way to bring Scrafty in is by using a slow U-turn or Volt Switch user such as (insert Pokemon here; Eelektross would be a good Pokemon), as its typing tends to force out Pokemon with an unfavorable match (remove space)up against it. Scrafty should also attempt to set up on Pokemon that lack the coverage or power necessary to break through KO (I'm not sure what you mean by "break through". Did you mean KO?) it, such as Jellicent, Bronzong, and Sneasel, although the latter can dent Scrafty with Low Kick. Unless Scrafty uses Shed Skin, it should be careful of status such as burn and paralysis,(AC) as they can prevent it from sweeping properly. It should be noted that Scrafty is still rather slow, meaning it is still susceptible to revenge killers even after using Dragon Dance.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock from Steelix, Rhyperior, and Seismitoad and Spikes from Qwilfish and Accelgor is helpful,(AC) as it can weaken Scrafty's checks and counters, making them much easier to handle. Uxie receives a special mention,(AC) as it provides Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave support, while also being able to pivot into Scrafty thanks to U-turn. Psychic-types such as Delphox, Meloetta,(AC) and Sigilyph are great teammates overall, as they can beat Fighting- and Poison-types that Scrafty struggles with,(AC) while Scrafty can handle Dark-types to an extent. Pokemon that can deal with Fairy-types such as Steelix, Durant, and Amoonguss, and are greatly appreciated. Partners that deal with Fletchinder, which easily revenge kills Scrafty, such as Rhyperior, Omastar,(AC) and Eelektross are helpful as well. Wallbreakers that can pave the way for Scrafty to sweep and clear through the likes of Alomomola, Tangrowth, and Quagsire, who can all burn Scrafty or KO it,(AC) in Tangrowth's the case of Tangrowth, such as Exploud, Meloetta, and Mega Glalie are appreciated also helpful,(RC) as they can pave the way for Scrafty to sweep more easiliy. Venomoth is an overall great partner for Scrafty,(AC) as it has a very favorable matchup against most defensive Pokemon that can OHKO or cripple Scrafty with status which includes Fairy-types and the aforementioned Tangrowth and Alomomola, while Scrafty can check Psychic-types for Venomoth.

High Jump Kick is Scrafty's the main STAB attack, due to its huge 130 Base Power base power. Knock Off is the secondary STAB attack which hits Ghost- and Psychic-types that who might think of switching switch in(remove space) to High Jump Kick. Drain Punch,(AC) although weaker than High Jump Kick, has the added bonus of healing Scrafty by 50% of total damage dealt,(RC) giving it a method of recovery if needed. Poison Jab is used to hit Fairy-types while also having a chance of poisoning the foe. Head Smash can be used instead to pressure Flying-type switch-ins such as Fletchinder and Togetic, while also dealing as much damage as Poison Jab poison jab to Fairy-types fairy types. Sleep Talk allows Scrafty to switch into Venomoth's Sleep Powder or Amoonguss' Spore, while still being able to attack.

An Adamant narure nature and maximum Attack investment on Attack EVs allows Scrafty to hit as hard as possible. The EVs in Speed allow it to outspeed defensive Hitmontop, while also managing to outspeed Alomomola. The remaining EVs are put into on HP for added bulk. Intimidate is the chosen ability,(AC) as it helps mitigate the damage Scrafty receives from switching in(remove space) to a physical attack. Moxie can be used for continuous sweeping after KOing a Pokemon, but Scrafty will tend to be forced out due to its susceptibility of to being revenge killed, making Intimidate more convenient. A Choice Band is used in order to increase Scrafty's overall power, while locking it into one move.

Usage Tips
========

Seeing as it functions as Because Scrafty is a wallbreaker, it Scrafty should be used early- to mid-game to dent the opponent's team as much as possible. It is also advisable to send Scrafty should be sent out against physical attackers that lack an attack that hits Scrafty it super effectively or are Choice locked into jnto a move that hits Scrafty for neutral or resisted damage, such as Reckless Emboar's Flare Blitz, Tyrantrum's Head Smash or Outrage, Flygon's Earthquake or Outrage, and Durant's Iron Head. High Jump Kick is your go-to attack, due to the fact that because it does a lot of damage to Pokemon that do not resist it. Knock Off should be used if off is an option in the case you predict a switch-in to a Pokemon that resists High Jump Kick. Since it is slow, it would be optimal to bring Scrafty in with a slow U-turn,(RC) or Volt Switch,(RC) or Baton Pass from Pokemon pokemon such as Uxie,(RC) and Eelektross, and Togetic. (tbh Togetic isn't a viable Baton Passer, nor is Baton Pass viable in RU at all, so you should just take mentions of Baton Pass out. )

Team Options
========

Entry hazard support such as Stealth Rock from Steelix, Rhyperior, and Seismitoad and Spikes from Qwilfish and Accelgor is helpful,(AC) as it wears down the opponent's Pokemon on the switches, making them much more easier for Scrafty to tear through. Paralysis support from Uxie and Druddigon, who which also manage to provide Stealth Rock support, is appreciated,(AC) as Scrafty is rather slow on its own. Setup sweepers such as Virizion, Meloetta, Tyrantrum, and Houndoom appreciate Scrafty's wallbreaking capabilities seeing as it also handles physical attackers these Pokemon struggle with. Late-game sweepers suchs as Fletchinder, Delphox, and Jolteon also appreciate the fact Scrafty being able to can punch holes through the opposing team, making cleaning up much easier.

An Assault Vest in conjunction with Power-up Power-Up Punch can be used to increase Scrafty's already high Special Defense while giving it another method to increase with its attack, but it misses out on the more convenient Attack boosts provided by Dragon Dance and Choice Band while also having a very unfavorable matchup against offensive teams. Bulk Up can be used as a more defensive means of setting (add space)up, but the lack of Speed means that Scrafty will have a harder time dealing with more offensive threats while also being completely outclassed by RestTalk Malamar. Iron Tail can be used over Iron Head or Poison Jab for higher damage against Fairy-types, although it becomes unreliable with 75% accuracy. Ice Punch and Thunder Punch can be options for coverage against Flying-types and, in the case of the for the former, bulky Grass-types,(AC) such as Tangrowth,(AC) (add more examples if you want (amoonguss) :3) and Flygon.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types and Fairy-type Moves**: Aromatisse, Togetic, and Granbull, resists both of Scrafty's STAB moves and can are easily able to KO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own, but they should be careful when with switching in on a super effective attack.(AP),(RC) or in the In Togetic's case of Togetic, have having its Eviolite discarded by Scrafty's Knock Off would be very detrimental to it knocked off. Dazzling Gleam from the likes of Delphox, Meloetta, Sigilyph,(AC) and,(RC) to a lesser extent, Colbur Berry Mesprit can OHKO Scrafty unless it is carrying a Roseli Berry.

**Revenge Killers**: Due to Scrafty having a rather low 58 base Speed, powerful Choice Scarf users carrying super effective moves, such as Delphox, Tyrantrum, Durant,(AC) and Emboar can easily OHKO Scrafty once given a free switch. Mach Punch and Fletchinder's Acrobatics easily KO Scrafty once it has been slightly weakened. Keep in mind that this can be avoided when Scrafty is using a Chople or Roseli Berry, respectively resist berry.

**Fighting-types**: Faster Fighting-types such as Medicham, Virizion, Emboar,(AC) and Hitmonlee can switch in(remove space) to Knock Off and OHKO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own. Hitmontop can switch in(remove space) to Scrafty while also reducing its Attack by 1 stage, thanks to Intimidate; it can then proceed to heavily damage Scrafty with Close Combat. Gurdurr can tank one High Jump Kick and retaliate with Drain Punch, or finish Scrafty off with Mach Punch, in the case it if Scrafty is weak enough.

**Poison-types**: Qwilfish reduces Scrafty's attack by 1 stage with Intimidate, and can taunt Taunt Scrafty 1 on 1, preventing it from using to use Dragon Dance, although it Qwilfish can't damage Scrafty back thoroughly unless it uses Scald. Amoonguss can use Clear Smog to and get rid of Scrafty's boosts (is Clear Smog Amoonguss that viable?). While both Pokemon resist Scrafty's Fighting-type moves, they should still be wary of Knock Off.

**Status**: Scrafty dislikes status in general, as paralysis makes it even slower than it already is and burn or poison wear it down faster, with the former having the added bonus of halving Scrafty's Attack. (maybe mention something about Shed Skin here)

Scrafty stands out as is the best Dragon Dance sweeper in RarelyUsed thanks to its combination of bulk, powerful STAB moves,(AC) and overall versatility in when it comes to viable coverage moves, items, and abilities. Its diverse movepool allows it to customize its sets to be able to beat a myriad of supposed checks, while its item and ability let Scrafty fare better against certain team playstyles. Its Dark / Fighting typing allows it to check Dark- and Psychic-type Pokemon which include such as Choice locked Delphox and (Leave this; I think you were talking about Choice-locked Meloetta. If you weren't, use what F1s has here but be sure to put a hyphen in Choice-locked.) Meloetta, Sigilyph, Sneasel, Drapion,(AC) and Houndoom,(AC) and Choice locked Delphox. Scrafty's biggest drawback is its base 58 Speed speed, which means it is still outsped by every relevant Choice Scarf user in the tier,(AC) even after using a Dragon Dance once boost.

Dragon Dance raises Scrafty's Attack and Speed by one stage ("by one stage" is fine; just be sure to put each at the end), allowing it to become a powerful and fast sweeper if left unchecked. High Jump Kick is the Scrafty's main STAB attack, (RC) due to its high 130 Base Power, hitting (state what it hits or just say that it smashes everything that doesn't resist it) base power. I actually agree with most of your edits, ForgottenOnes, but yes, Clear Smog Amoonguss is viable.

E1: I was talkin about both Choice-locked Delphox AND Meloetta, Snobalt

E2: There was also a slight mistake when you mentioned Roseli Berry when I was referring to Fletch, but that happens. Changes implemented. Thanks, guys.

Venomoth has a very favorable matchup against most defensive Pokemon that can OHKO or cripple Scrafty with status, such as Fairy-types, Tangrowth, and Alomomola, while Scrafty can check Psychic-types for Venomoth.

Moves
========

High Jump Kick is Scrafty's main STAB attack, due to its huge 130 Base Power. It should be used carefully, as Scrafty will lose 50% of its total health if it misses, the foe uses Protect, or a Ghost-type switches into it. Knock Off is a secondary STAB attack which that hits Ghost- and Psychic-types that might switch in to High Jump Kick. Drain Punch, although weaker than High Jump Kick, has the added bonus of healing Scrafty. Poison Jab is used to hit Fairy-types while also having a chance of poisoning the foe. Head Smash can be used instead to pressure Flying-type switch-ins such as Fletchinder and Togetic, while also dealing and it deals nearly as much damage as Poison Jab to Fairy-types. Alternatively, Sleep Talk allows Scrafty to switch into Venomoth's Sleep Powder or Amoonguss's Spore, (RC) and still be able to attack.

Set Details
========

Moxie can be used for continuous sweeping after KOing a Pokemon, but Scrafty will tend to be forced out due to its susceptibility of to being revenge killed, making Intimidate more consistent. Choice Band is used in order to increase Scrafty's overall power.

Usage Tips
========

Knock Off should be used if you predict the foe opponent will switch to a Pokemon that resists High Jump Kick. Because Scrafty is slow, it would be optimal to bring it Scrafty in with a slow U-turn or Volt Switch from Uxie and or Eelektross.

Team Options
========

Setup sweepers such as Virizion, Meloetta, Tyrantrum, and Houndoom appreciate Scrafty's wallbreaking capabilities, (AC) seeing as it also handles physical attackers that these Pokemon struggle with. Late-game sweepers such as Fletchinder, Delphox, and Jolteon also appreciate Scrafty being able to punch holes through the opposing team, making cleaning up much easier.

Other Options
=============

Assault Vest in conjunction with Power-Up Punch can be used to increase Scrafty's already high Special Defense while giving it another method to increase its Attack, but it misses out on the more convenient Attack boosts provided by Dragon Dance and Choice Band and also has while also having a very unfavorable matchup against offensive teams. Bulk Up can be used as a more defensive means of setting up, but the lack of Speed boosts means that Scrafty will have a harder time dealing with more offensive threats, aside from while also being completely outclassed by RestTalk Malamar.

===================

**Fairy-type**: Aromatisse, Togetic, and Granbull, resists resist both of Scrafty's STAB moves and can easily KO Scrafty with STAB moves of their own, but they should be careful when switching in on a super effective attack.

**Revenge Killers**: Due to Scrafty having a rather low base 58 Speed, powerful Choice Scarf users carrying super effective moves, such as Delphox, Tyrantrum, Durant, and Emboar, (AC) can easily OHKO Scrafty if they're given a free switch. Mach Punch and Fletchinder's Acrobatics easily KO Scrafty once it has been slightly weakened. Keep in mind that this can be avoided when Scrafty is using a Chople and or Coba Berry, respectively.

**Poison-types**: Qwilfish reduces Scrafty's Attack with Intimidate, (RC) and can Taunt it to preventing it from using Dragon Dance, although Qwilfish can't damage Scrafty back thoroughly unless it uses Scald. Amoonguss can use Clear Smog to get rid of Scrafty's boosts. While both Pokemon resist Scrafty's Fighting-type moves, they should still be wary of Knock Off.

**Status Conditions**: Paralysis makes Scrafty even slower than it already is, (AC) while burn or and poison wear it down faster, with the former also halving Scrafty's Attack.
