Just wanted to note that this is apparently the current set for Mega Camerupt so all calculations should be made using this spread and moveset:

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 176 SpD / 84 Spe
Calm Nature
- Flamethrower
- Earth Power
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

(Fire Blast and Ancient Power in Moves)

There is a chance that set is outdated, like several others are, but I'm not so sure on that one.

Not trying to be ru... ok, I gotta be harsh on this. First, as the director of this project I decide what set the victim is gonna have and stuff. Dont know why are you imposing a spread or moveset without even consulting me, thats a really rude thing to do.

Second, offensive mega camerupt is perfectly viable.

Third, spD mega camerupt is fine but thats not set thats gonna be used to post the checks/counters.

Sorry about that, I forgot that all of the calcs were supposed to be with the set that was posted in the OP. The spread on Mega Camerupt's analysis was different so it kinda threw me for a loop, it won't happen again though I promise.

Pelipper @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 248 HP / 144 Def / 116 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn
let me point out peliper can only switch in once to peliper and has to roost to come in the second time ( it's 2 hit OHKoed pretty sad for a resist...) but with this spread I turned it to a 3 hit here are some Calcs.

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 116+ SpD Pelipper: 145-171 (44.8 - 52.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Pelipper Scald vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Camerupt: 292-348 (84.8 - 101.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Reserving Tyrantrum as a Soft Check

Tyrantrum @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Outrage
- Superpower
- Earthquake

So basically this guy can switch in on any attack from Mega Camerupt (besides Earth Power) and threaten to KO (although Hidden Power Ice is a bit shaky if Stealth Rock is up). Not the best check obviously but it's easy to fit on balance and offensive teams, and besides checking Mega Camerupt, it is also one of the best wallbreakers in the tier.

252 Atk Choice Band Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Camerupt: 348-411 (101.1 - 119.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Choice Band Tyrantrum Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Camerupt: 310-366 (90.1 - 106.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Fire Blast vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Tyrantrum: 106-125 (34.6 - 40.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Flamethrower vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Tyrantrum: 87-102 (28.4 - 33.3%) -- 97.9% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Mega Camerupt Hidden Power Ice vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Tyrantrum: 238-282 (77.7 - 92.1%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Reserving Poliwrath

**EDITED**
Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SpA / 160 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Focus Blast
- Vacuum Wave
- Ice Beam

Poliwrath is a check. Poliwrath can switch into any of Mega Camerupt's attacks and OHKO with Hydro Pump. This is only a check though since Poliwrath can't come in repeatedly on Mega Camerupt's Earth Power.

252+ SpA Poliwrath Hydro Pump vs. 168 HP / 0 SpD Mega Camerupt: 508-600 (157.2 - 185.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Earth Power vs. 96 HP / 0 SpD Poliwrath: 249-294 (72.1 - 85.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Reserving Poliwrath

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Circle Throw
- Scald
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Poliwrath is a Hard Counter. Even with no investment in speed and next to none in special defense, Poliwrath outspeeds Mega Camerupt and 2HKOes.

0 SpA Poliwrath Scald vs. 168 HP / 0 SpD Solid Rock Camerupt: 246-291 (76.1 - 90%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Camerupt Earth Power vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Poliwrath: 153-180 (39.8 - 46.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Camerupt Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Poliwrath: 93-109 (24.2 - 28.3%) -- 0.1% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Camerupt Hidden Power Ice vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Poliwrath: 34-40 (8.8 - 10.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever

I went with the RestTalk set to better deal with Toxic, but the specially offensive set is capable of OHKOing without any hazards.
problem is u have calced those with camerupt as opposed to mega camerupt which 2hkoes with ease. i suggest changing 2 tank poli which ohkoes that thing w/ hpump

bop.
pelipper and mantine are the only real counters to this so here's a good check

Druddigon @ Choice Band
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Gunk Shot
- Sucker Punch

Takes one earth power and hits back with outrage or earthquake, both kill.
Calcs:
252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Earth Power vs. 236 HP / 0 SpD Druddigon: 249-294 (70.3 - 83%)
252+ Atk Choice Band Druddigon Earthquake vs. 168 HP / 0 Def Mega Camerupt: 340-400 (105.2 - 123.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

How is that nobody posted flygon??!! Is HP Ice that much of an issue to live it behind?

Flygon is a check (counter is no hidden power ice)

Flygon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 236 SpD / 24 Spe
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- U-turn
- Defog
- Earthquake
- Roost

Here it is, the mon that made many variants of mega camerupt run hp ice to handle it. It can take any of mega camerupt STABs since it is immune to earth power thanks to levitate and fire blast is a 3hko at most. Flygon 2hko back with earthquake easily. Even on 1v1 situations flygon comes forth thanks to HP Ice not OHKOing this variant while flygon can easily 2hko and recover the damage later thanks to roost. Check cause it cant switch on a predicted hp ice or fire blast + hp ice combination, and it will lose if camerupt is healthy enough to take an EQ.

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 232+ SpD Flygon: 117-138 (32.2 - 38%) -- 96.9% chance to 3HKO, no damage

Mega Camerupt Earth Power vs. Levitate Flygon: NADA

252+ SpA Mega Camerupt Hidden Power Ice vs. 248 HP / 232+ SpD Flygon: 268-316 (73.8 - 87%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, nb nb

What flygon does:

0 Atk Flygon Earthquake vs. 168 HP / 0 Def Mega Camerupt: 218-258 (67.4 - 79.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO, good enough

Will be updating this thread shortly.

Thanks everyone who participated this week! Now to mention the winners and give the go to the new system:

Counter: Mantine (Hot N Cold) | Jellicent (Esidisi) | Pelipper (DKFirelord)
Check: Samurott (Kableye) | Druddigon (ss234) | Flygon (MrAldo)
Special Mention: Poliwrath (Ping_Pong_Along) | Tyrantrum (Rollout Shuckle)
Needed a mon difficult to check/counter to test the new system... and it worked out perfectly!

Alright, victim of the next week goes to:

Escavalier @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Megahorn

Its design is awesome, and... what is this set?? Discuss!

You seem a bit desperate, bud.

Reserving Megarupt

Mega Camerupt as a Counter!!!

aldo's last votw said:

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 168 HP / 252 SpA / 88 Spe
Modest Nature
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power
- Toxic / Flamethrower
- Fire Blast

Nice smirk, ready to destroy everything.
Mega Camerupt can switch in to a +2 Megahorn from Escavalier (it can even switch in to +4 in the case there are no rocks on your side) and can cleanly OHKO Escavalier with anything that's stronger than a Flame Wheel (basically any Fire-type STAB move from Megarupt does the trick). It would be advised to keep Mega Camerupt healthy, as +2 Megahorn still deos around 60% damage.

8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 168 HP / 0 Def Mega Camerupt: 84-99 (26 - 30.6%) -- 16.6% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 168 HP / 0 Def Mega Camerupt: 168-198 (52 - 61.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 780-916 (227.4 - 267%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0- Atk Sheer Force Mega Camerupt Flame Wheel vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 340-408 (99.1 - 118.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO

Hm, this looks fun.

Reserving Golbat

Gene Simmons (Golbat) @ Eviolite
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Defog
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Taunt

Golbat is a hard counter. While not super popular, physically defensive Golbat can put in some work against this Escavalier set. Taunt stops it from boosting and resting and leaves it with only an attack that Golbat x4 resists. Even if Escavalier gets a Swords Dance off on the switch, Golbat can roost off the damage and tank Megahorns even without the resist from being a flying type.

0 Atk Golbat Brave Bird vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 103-123 (30 - 35.8%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Golbat: 25-30 (7 - 8.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Golbat: 50-59 (14.1 - 16.7%) -- possible 6HKO

Roost turn
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Golbat: 101-119 (28.6 - 33.7%) -- 0.3% chance to 3HKO

Qwilfish as a check

Qwilfish @ Black Sludge
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish / Bold Nature
- Waterfall / Scald
- Spikes
- Taunt
- Thunder Wave
Qwilfish eats up megahorn for breakfast, Taunt's it, and sets up hazards on it or beats it with Waterfall / burns with Scald. Though it's lack of recovery makes checking Escavalier repetitively difficult, Qwilfish can help min-game in weakening Escavalier and stopping it from setting up.
-1 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Qwilfish: 48-57 (14.3 - 17%) -- possible 9HKO after Black Sludge recovery
8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Qwilfish: 72-86 (21.5 - 25.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Black Sludge recovery
0 Atk Qwilfish Waterfall vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 79-94 (23 - 27.4%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 SpA Qwilfish Scald vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 37-45 (10.7 - 13.1%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Magneton for Check / maybe Hard Check

Magneton @ Eviolite
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 96 HP / 40 Def / 252 SpA / 120 Spe
Modest Nature
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt / Flash Cannon
- Charge Beam / Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power Fire

This set basically is able to take hits from Escavalier and either 2HKO with HP Fire or try to boost up with Charge Beam. Substitute shields Magneton from unboosted Megahorns and Sleep Talk turns, as well as fishing for a Megahorn miss. The EV spread is designed so that Escavalier can never break Magneton's Sub with an unboosted Megahorn, while giving Magneton a ton of power. Really, the main idea of this set is to trap and KO Escavalier and have a Substitute up afterwards in order to block revenge kill attempts and take out another mon on the opponent's team.

8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 96 HP / 40 Def Eviolite Magneton: 56-66 (21.1 - 24.9%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 96 HP / 40 Def Eviolite Magneton: 112-132 (42.2 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Magneton Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 192-228 (55.9 - 66.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ SpA Magneton Charge Beam vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 60-72 (17.4 - 20.9%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252+ SpA Magneton Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 284-336 (82.7 - 97.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Might post some actually decent sets tomorrow :P

Well then, Emboar for Counter

Emboar @ Life Orb
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
- Sucker Punch

Emboar can come in on anything Escavalier wants to use because of his Fire/Fighting Typing he x4 resists the Stab Megahorn which fails to do 20% unboosted, so switch in on one at full health and either tank the hit or score the kill next turn if he wants to go for a SD. Pretty simple.

Emboar > Escavalier

252 Atk Life Orb Reckless Emboar Flare Blitz vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 1128-1331 (328.8 - 388%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Escavalier > Emboar

8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Emboar: 59-70 (16.3 - 19.3%) -- possible 6HKO
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Emboar: 118-139 (32.6 - 38.5%) -- 99.4% chance to 3HKO

Fletchinder
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 152 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Def / 28 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Will-O-Wisp
- Roost

With a 4x resistance to Bug, Fletchinder is able to counter Escavalier since it does not even get OHKO'ed by +6 Megahorn, presuming there are no rocks up on the other side of course. It has the useful utility of Will-O-Wisp to cripple Escavalier and half its attack, forcing it to Rest up and allowing Fletchinder to capitalize and get a Swords Dance up.

+6 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 152 HP / 76 Def Fletchinder: 240-282 (79.2 - 93%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mega Steelix is a Hard Check

Steelix @ Steelixite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 60 Atk / 140 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Heavy Slam
- Roar
- Earthquake

Mega Steelix's insane physical bulk and resistance to Bug-type moves make it more than capable of taking on SD Resttalk Escavalier, even after multiple boosts (even at +6, Escavalier still only has a 25% chance to 2HKO Mega Steelix with Megahorn, lol). In return, Mega Steelix can either phaze out Escavalier with Roar, preventing it from racking up too many boosts, or it can outspeed Escavalier and strike back with Earthquake, which 3HKOes at worst. As long as Mega Steelix is reasonably healthy, it should be able to stop SD Escavalier from sweeping pretty reliably, but because of the fact that Mega Steelix lacks any form of recovery without say Wish/HW support, i'll only list it as a hard check for now, although if you want to add it under counters, go right ahead :). Calcs below!

0 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 40-48 (11.2 - 13.5%) -- possible 8HKO
+2 0 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 80-94 (22.5 - 26.5%) -- 22.7% chance to 4HKO
+4 0 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 119-141 (33.6 - 39.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+6 0 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Mega Steelix: 159-187 (44.9 - 52.8%) -- 26.6% chance to 2HKO

60+ Atk Mega Steelix Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 145-172 (42.1 - 50%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO

Jellicent is a Counter

upload_2015-9-2_22-59-10.png

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Recover

Jellicent is a dead stop to this Escavalier set. Jellicent can easily switch in on a Swords Dance or Megahorn, proceed to Taunt Escavalier to prevent it from setting up further or using Rest, burn it with Will-O-Wisp, and proceed to replenish health with Recover and chip away at it with Hex. I consider Jellicent a counter instead of a hard check because Jellicent can actually afford to miss a Will-O-Wisp and still handle it 1v1, as these calcs illustrate below:

+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 216+ Def Jellicent: 156-185 (38.7 - 45.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (after a burn, it'll only be doing 20-22% on average, and Recover heals more than a +2 Megahorn deals out)
0 SpA Jellicent Hex (130 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 85-102 (24.7 - 29.7%) -- 99.8% chance to 3HKO after burn damage (not a 3HKO when it's asleep but it still chips it very well and you have Taunt to prevent further set-up or Resting)

Bear in mind that Escavalier is just as likely to miss a Megahorn as Jellicent is to miss a Will-O-Wisp.

Houndoom as a Check

Houndoom @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 220 Atk / 36 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Crunch

yeah a standard set for my first contribution, i'm so creative!
It can't switch into escav at all (unboosted megahorn ohkoes even without a -def nature ;-;), but it can check this Escavalier set easily since Fire Blast easily ohkoes Escav or it can chip it fairly well with pursuit on a predicted switch to wear it down for a teammate to potentially sweep later on, something which potentially sets Houndoom apart from other checks despite not being useful 100% of the time since other pursuit users just get broken by restalk escav.

36 SpA Life Orb Houndoom Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 484-577 (141.1 - 168.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
220 Atk Life Orb Houndoom Pursuit (80 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 125-148 (36.4 - 43.1%) -- 97.7% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 0- Def Houndoom: 325-384 (111.6 - 131.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO - RIP

bop.

Magmortar @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 HP / 24 Def / 232 SpA
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

Phys def resttalk emboar and magneton are probly the best counters to sd escav but both have already gone. Any fire type with some sort of recovery can counter esca so here's magmortar. Fire blast obv kills and you take a megahorn even after two rounds of SR. HP and def investment means that you can take a +2 megahorn after SR if that happens.
Calcs:
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 24 Def Magmortar: 225-265 (63.5 - 74.8%)
232+ SpA Magmortar Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 532-628 (155.1 - 183%)

Flareon @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm / Careful Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Roar / Will-O-Wisp
- Lava Plume / Flare Blitz

This guy can basically take even a +2 Megahorn (though Stealth Rock is a problem) and KO with a STAB move or phaze it out with Roar. Flareon also gets recovery in Wish, and just look at that sprite :P

0 SpA Flareon Lava Plume vs. 248 HP / 252 SpD Escavalier: 256-304 (74.6 - 88.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
0 Atk Flareon Flare Blitz vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 624-736 (181.9 - 214.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Flareon: 126-148 (37.8 - 44.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
+2 8 Atk Escavalier Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Flareon: 250-295 (75 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
