[OVERVIEW]
Contrary to its glamorous name, Beautifly is a vile and nasty butterfly ridiculed by its peers due to its ugly appearance. There was once a tale told about this butterfly, and it goes as such:
"Once, there was an ugly butterfly. It was so ugly that everyone died. The end."
This story may make Beautifly out to be a devastating Pokemon in the tier, but it can't do anything its brother Butterfree can't do and thus lives in its shadow.
[SET]
name: The Ugly Bar- Butterfly
move 1: Flash
move 2: Morning Sun
move 3: Defog
move 4:
item: BrightPowder
ability: Rivalry
nature: Jolly
evs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
With Flash, Beautifly shows its ugly face to the foe, which lowers their accuracy and can scar them for life. Other than that, Beautifly can do nothing that Butterfree cannot, and it ends up getting KOed whenever the foe hits it. Morning Sun and Defog not only make Beautifly more annoying but also allow it to remove anything blocking its glance.
Set Details
========
BrightPowder makes Beautifly's face more visible, as well as making it much easier for the abomination to dodge the foe's attacks. Rivalry is the ability of choice because a Swarm of bugs would cover up Beautifly's face and get rid of its niche.
Usage Tips
========
While using Beautifly, the main objective is to scar a foe so much with its ugliness that the foe cannot hit it or its teammates, although the user has to be sure to not look into its eyes either.
Team Options
========
The best teammates for Beautifly are five Pokemon that you hope can take on the opposing team, as you will be at an extreme disadvantage by wasting a slot on it, or you can use even uglier Pokemon, such as Trubbish and Beheeyem, to make it look better by comparison.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Using a decent Pokemon.
Checks and Counters
===================
**Everything**: Once it gets past Beautifly's blinding gaze and face, an opposing Pokemon can wear it down with either status or attacking moves.
