[OVERVIEW]

Latios is one of the most powerful Pokemon in the AAA metagame. With a great offensive and defensive typing in Dragon / Psychic, it can be almost impossible to switch into due to its access to powerful moves in Draco Meteor and Psyshock and power-boosting abilities in Adaptability and Tinted Lens to further complement its fantastic wallbreaking prowess. Not only is it one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame, but it also has the ability to sweep thanks to its access to Calm Mind and Roost coupled with a fantastic Speed tier to outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame. However, due to its low Defense, Latios can usually be OHKOed by common priority users with Refrigerate or Gale Wings such as Entei, Thundurus, Skarmory, and Staraptor. Latios is also forced to switch out often due to the Special Attack drop from Draco Meteor, so it can be trapped by potential Pursuit users such as Honchkrow and Mega Metagross.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Draco Meteor is easily Latios's most spammable and powerful STAB move, especially when combined with Adaptability or Tinted Lens. Psyshock is Latios's preferred Psychic-type STAB move, hitting Pokemon like Snorlax and Chansey on their weaker Defense. Roost provides Latios with reliable recovery, which is especially useful due to Life Orb recoil, further increasing its longevity. Calm Mind allows Latios to gain extra power if needed, which is really useful in a one-on-one situation against Calm Mind Suicune or a special wall such as Chansey. Alternatively, Defog can allow Latios to provide team support for teammates weak to Stealth Rock, such as Staraptor and Braviary.

Set Details
========

A Timid nature and maximum Speed and Special Attack investment allow Latios to Speed tie with other base 110 Speed Pokemon such as Gengar and Mega Diancie while hitting as hard as possible. Life Orb grants a nice, immediate boost to Latios's power. Adaptability gives an enormous boost to Draco Meteor and Psyshock, which easily turns some 2HKOs into OHKOs, most notably allowing Latios to OHKO Manaphy with Draco Meteor. Alternatively, Tinted Lens allows Latios to hit Steel-types very hard on the switch such as Aegislash and Ferrothorn, which are relatively common in the metagame.

Usage Tips
========

Draco Meteor might not always be the best move to use, especially considering that the Special Attack drop makes Latios vulnerable to Pursuit trappers. Latios can have a great matchup against any kind of playstyle due to the sheer power it provides, so try to keep it healthy for as long as possible. If using Tinted Lens, it's relatively easy to wear down Steel-types such as Mega Metagross and Jirachi on the switch for teammates to clean them up late-game. If Latios is low on health and likely to force a switch, Roost will most likely be the best play. Try to never keep Latios in on Gale Wings users such as Braviary and Staraptor, as Brave Bird from either of them will easily OHKO Latios before it can move due to its lackluster physical bulk.

Team Options
========

Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-types such as Heatran, Landorus, and Lucario are helpful for disposing of Steel-types that resist Latios's STAB moves, but you must be wary of Flash Fire users if using Fire-types. Magnet Pull users such as Heatran and Magnezone can take out Steel-types as well. Entry hazard setters such as Deoxys-S and Deoxys-D are useful for wearing down specially defensive walls such as Chansey and Snorlax for Latios. Weaker special attackers such as Gengar and Shaymin-S appreciate Latios's wallbreaking ability, as it makes their jobs easier late-game. Steel-types such as Doublade and Skarmory can take on the Refrigerate, Pixilate, and Gale Wings users that threaten Latios.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Specs or Choice Scarf with Trick could be used to cripple some walls like Chansey while providing Latios a nice boost to its power or Speed. However, Latios doesn't necessarily need the power from Choice Specs, and Choice Scarf leaves it even more vulnerable to the myriad of priority users. An all-out attacker set with Primordial Sea as well as Surf and Thunder hits relatively hard and helps with some of its usual walls that Latios has trouble with such as Skarmory. Thunderbolt could be used as a coverage move to hit Pokemon like Skarmory very hard. Shadow Ball is also useable to hit Pokemon like Mega Metagross and Jirachi on the switch in. Lastly, Memento can help Latios avoid being Pursuit trapped and give setup opportunities to teammates with poor bulk, such as Lucario.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Priority Users**: Priority users such as Refrigerate Entei as well as Gale Wings Braviary and Staraptor can take advantage of Latios's low Defense, forcing it to use Roost often to avoid being KOed.

**Dark-types and Pursuit Trappers**: Dark-types such as Greninja can threaten Latios with their strong STAB moves. Similarly, potential Pursuit users such as Mega Metagross and Honchkrow can take advantage of the Special Attack drop from Draco Meteor and trap Latios.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Skarmory and Heatran resist both of Latios's STAB moves and thus wall it effectively, although a Tinted Lens set can surprise them.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon and Choice Scarf users such as Thundurus and Heracross can take out Latios before it can move.

**Fairy-types**: Togekiss, Diancie, and Florges are all immune to Latios's most powerful attack and can easily KO it with their STAB moves.

Overview: Mention that Latios is a great wallbreaker due to Draco Meteor's incredible power boosted by Adaptability and coupled with Psyshock and Calm Mind.

Moves: Mention that CM allows Latios to defeat Suicune.

SD: Give examples :o (the extra power boost Adaptability provides gives Latios enough power to 2HKO Chansey with Psyshock, for example)

UT: Mention that Latios has a good matchup against all playstyles due to its great Speed and power which it can also boost with Calm Mind. Also mention that if using Tinted Lens you can lure in Steel-types such as Mega Metagross for teammates.

TO: Mention Fighting- and Ground-types too and say that Fire-types are risky because Flash Fire is a thing. Give examples of where entry hazards help. Mention that Flash Fire Doublade is an especially good teammate because it takes on almost all relevant priority users. Mention weaker special attackers as teammates because Latios does a more than decent job at breaking down special walls for them. Also mention Pokemon that like Steel-types removed if using Tinted Lens Latios.
OO: Mention that Choice Specs is meh because you already have more than enough power and miss out on all the utility moves Latios has, and that Choice Scarf acts as a decent revenge killer but is not as good as it would appear because priority is everywhere and the Speed boost is thus not only not as relevant, but you could also just use powerful priority to keep setup sweepers in check. Oh and mention Thunderbolt to hit Skarmory, Azumarill, and a whole bunch of other bulky Water-types harder. Also mention allout-attacker Primordial Sea I suppose (with Surf and Thunder). Mention Shadow Ball to catch Mega Metagross and Jirachi on the switch, and last but not least mention Memento, which is amazing with Latios's high Speed and works very well with Pokemon such as Lucario that don't really have the bulk to set up on their own, and can take advantage of Dark-types such as Tyranitar attempting to Pursuit-trap Latios.

C&C: Mention that strong priority forced Latios to use Roost a lot to stay out of range (doesnt really matter with Refrigerate or banded Brave Birds but it does vs like Tough Claws Extremespeed). Instead of Pursuit mention Dark-types in general and Pursuit in that category (and be sure to mention Tyranitar there). Mention that Tinted Lens lures a lot of Steel-types in. Also make a Faster Pokemon category because Latios's bulk isn't stellar and Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Gensect, Choice Specs Raikou, Thundurus-I, etc take advantage of its multiple weaknesses to swiftly take it out.

Do that and it's 1/3. :)

Pretty sure I got everything, thanks! :]

For some reason I thought I had QC'd this analysis already - sorry about that!

  • In moves, also mention that Calm Mind in tandem with Roost allows Latios to set up on special attackers to an extent, and allows it to generally check Poison Heal Suicune.
  • In moves, mention Ferrothorn and Aegislash as examples of what Tinted Lens allows Latios to beat.
  • In Other Options, remove the mention of Azumarill as a target for Thunderbolt since most Azumarill are usually Volt Absorb.
  • Remove mentions of Earthquake and HP Fire in OO - in standard they're useful moves to lure in and kill Latios' counters, but here it can just beat them with Tinted Lens so it's better off running that.
  • Mention Mega Latios in tandem with Competitive before mega evolving, but also that it's difficult to pull off due to Latios' weakness to priority.
Analysis looks really good!

ok..hopefully i do this right LMFAO.
  • in other options, mention sheer force being a viable option, having a lot of power without the negative drops draco meteor gives.
  • for team options, mention magnet pullers,
  • again for team options add on to the last point that doublade/skarm also handle common refridgerate/pixilate users latios fears
  • remove competative latios in "other options" competitive latios is too situational, its basically a "one time hit" since draco meteor will lower its spc attack back to 0, your better off running adapt or tinted. its horribly weak to priority, meaning it doesnt stay in long enough in battle to make use of its boosts, plus it competes for a potential mega slot, its just not viable, and mons like metagross just do it better.
  • in checks and counters, mention scarfers in "faster pokemon", and also add fairies as a category as togekiss, diancie, florges, and a few other viable fairy types wall its strongest attack, and can tank psyshock and ohko in return.
otherwise, looks good 3/3 QC approved

Written and implemented, thanks! I didn't add Sheer Force though, because it doesn't boost Draco Meteor or any of its usable STAB moves (Psychic I guess) :[. This is ready for GP though!

honestly, i was questioning putting it in myself, i mean its viable, and boltbeam coverage is still amazing, and its the best sheer forcer out there barring gengar, but even then adapt/tinted both do the same and more. so yeah, dont add sheer force changed my mind lmao.

Unless it typically runs Refrigerate/Pixilate?) and Heracross can take advantage of the Latios's lower Speed and Defenses to take it out Latias before it can move. (Took out the mention of [both] defenses because not only is Raikou a special attacker, but Latios's Sp. Defense is also not bad. If 110 is low for AAA standards I'd be very surprised.)

**Fairy-Types Fairy-types**: Togekiss, Diancie, and Florges are all wall immune to Latios's most powerful attack and can easily KO it with one of their STAB moves.

GP 2/2
[OVERVIEW]

Latios is one of the most powerful Pokemon in the AAA metagame. With a great offensive and defensive typing in Dragon / Psychic, it can be almost impossible to switch into due to its access to powerful moves in Draco Meteor and Psyshock and access to either power-boosting abilities in Adaptability or and Tinted Lens (RC) to further complementing its fantastic wallbreaking ability prowess. (less repetitive) Not only is it one of the best wallbreakers in the metagame, but it also has the ability to sweep thanks to its access to Calm Mind and Roost coupled with a fantastic Speed tier to outspeed the majority of the unboosted metagame.

Moves
========

Calm Mind allows Latios to gain extra power if needed, which is really useful in a one-(AH)on-(AH)one situation against Calm Mind Suicune or a special wall such as Chansey. Alternatively, Defog can allow Latios to provide team support for teammates weak to Stealth Rock, such as Staraptor and Braviary.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Draco Meteor might not always be the best move to use, especially considering that it the Special Attack drop makes Latios vulnerable to Pursuit trappers after the Special Attack drop.

========

Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-types such as Heatran, Landorus, and Lucario are helpful for disposing of Steel-types that resist Latios's STAB moves, but you must be wary of Flash Fire users if using Fire-types. Magnet Pull users such as Heatran or and Magnezone can take out Steel-types as well. Entry hazard setters such as Deoxys-S and Dexoys-D Deoxys-D are useful for wearing down specially defensive walls such as Chansey and Snorlax for Latios. Weaker special attackers such as Gengar and Shaymin-S appreciate Latios's wallbreaking ability, as it makes their jobs easier late-game. Steel-types such as Doublade and Skarmory can take on the Refrigerate/, (change to comma) Pixilate, and Gale Wings users that threaten Latios.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Choice Specs or Choice Scarf and with Trick could be used to cripple some walls like Chansey while providing Latios a nice boost to its power or Speed, respectively. (remove hyphen) Lastly, Memento can help Latios avoid being Pursuit trapped and give setup opportunities to teammates with poor bulk, such as Lucario.

Checks and Counters
===================

Similarly, (AC) potential Pursuit users such as Mega Metagross and Honchkrow can take advantage of the Special Attack drop from Draco Meteor and trap Latios.

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Skarmory and Heatran resist both of Latios's STAB moves and thus wall it effectively, although running a Tinted Lens set can surprise them.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon and Choice Scarf users such as Thundurus and Heracross can take take out Latias Latios before it can move.

**Fairy-types**: Togekiss, Diancie, and Florges are all immune to Latios's most powerful attack and can easily KO it with their STAB moves.
