[AOT3 R1] Group SiCK: VirajVora vs. Ooraloo

ASB OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT #3

"Welcome to ASB official tournament #3! Because the first two simply weren't good enough I guess. Anyways, it'll be interesting this time around with all the newcomers. Will third time be the charm for unlucky competitors such as zarator? Or will it be an upset by the new guard as we see more Mowtoms? Or maybe a conquest of the old guard? It all starts right here, right now!"

Team VirajVora:

Braviary[Male]
Types: Normal/Flying

Normal - Normal STAB; +1 BAP on attacks that match dominant arena type after 3 actions. Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.

Flying - Flying STAB; immunity to Ground attacks and the Arena Trap Ability except under the effects of Smack Down and Gravity, even for ground-based flying Pokemon. Will always hit foes with Dig (except other Flying types) and Dive. Cannot be hit by Dive unless the attacking Pokemon has a size class greater than four (4). Unaffected by Spikes or Toxic Spikes. when switching in. Able to hit Pokemon in the evasive stage of Bounce, Fly or Sky Drop with single target moves that hit Pokemon on the field regardless of position.

Abilities::
Keen Eye / Sheer Force / Defiant (Hidden Ability Unlocked)

Keen Eye (Passive) - This Pokemon has extremely good vision and cannot have its accuracy lowered by an opponent through any means (including accuracy lowering attacks, Smogs, Hazes, Fog, etc.). Its vision also enables it to see through any attempts by an opponent to increase their own evasion.

Sheer Force (Toggle) - At default this Pokemon can energize all its attacks with a secondary effect (These are damaging moves that either lower the target's stats, raise the user's stats, or inflict a status condition on the target). The Base Attack Power of every move with a secondary effect increases by two (2), but they will never have their usual secondary effect. When toggled, no effect.

Defiant (Passive) - The Pokemon has a deep sense of honor, and whenever one of its stats are decreased by an opponent's Attack or Ability, its Attack increases by two (2) stages. This boost may not reset towards its natural stage the round this ability is triggered.

Dragon - Dragon STAB; -1 BAP on incoming neutral attacks Dragon itself would resist (e.g. -1 BAP on Aqua Jet against Garchomp.) Unable to have Thrash or Outrage disrupted by oncoming damage.

Abilities::
Levitate

Levitate (Passive) - This Pokemon naturally floats above the earth when released or easily takes flight, evading the Ground moves Bulldoze, Earthquake, Fissure, and Magnitude. Earth Power will have three (3) less Base Attack Power. Dig and Dive can strike a Levitating Pokemon if their user is over Size Class 4, has Levitate, is 3.5m or larger, or is a Flying-type. Otherwise Dig and Dive will miss. Ground moves can still hit.

Fighting - Fighting STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.

Steel - Steel STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.

Abilities::
Steadfast / Inner Focus / Justified (Hidden Ability Unlocked)

Steadfast (Passive) - If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases Speed by one (1) stage to make up the difference. This Speed boost is maintained at the end of each round.

Inner Focus (Passive) - When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates.

Justified (Passive) - This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokémon's Attack will increase one (1) stage (adjusting the natural stage).

Rock - Rock STAB; Adds an additional level of Priority (+0 to +1, +3 to +4 etc.) on naturally occurring level-up, egg, tutor, or TM attacks that increase only defense, special defense, or prevent damage (Full list: Acid Armor, Amnesia, Barrier, Defense Curl, Detect, Quick Guard, Harden, Iron Defense, Light Screen, Reflect, Skull Bash, Stockpile, Wide Guard, Withdraw). Reduced damage from all special attacks by two (2) Base Attack Power during Sandstorm, immune to Sandstorm damage. Ignores Arena restrictions on Rock attacks requiring an external rock source.

Abilities::
Sturdy/Gluttony/Contrary (Hidden Ability Locked)

Sturdy (Passive) - This Pokemon's body is solidly constructed, reducing the Base Attack Power from an opponents incoming attacks by one (1). The effect is amplified on OHKO Moves, which are reduced by ten (10) Base Attack Power.

Gluttony (Passive) - This Pokemon devours healing and stat increasing berries at 50% health (flat) instead of 25% health (flat). It also regains three (3) HP per action when holding Leftovers.

Contrary (Toggle) - At default this Pokemon's unique structure reverses stat changes it receives in battle, from both its own attacks and those of other Pokemon. At the end of the round, stat changes will still increase/decrease toward 0. When toggled, it has no effect.

"Here we have a denizen of PS!, and a product of the Hawkie-initiated mass immigration into ASB. Ooraloo is relatively new but on the plus side, her team seems to have an awesome matchup against VirajVora's. Just watch out for Cassiel the Armaldo, though the rest of her team has almost as good matchups here."

In the interest of getting this up (it's been delayed long enough) I'm postponing flavor. That will come soon. "Hmm, I wonder who put that message there. Ehh, it's probably not important. Here, have some rules."

Rules:
3v3 Singles
- Bring 4 Pokemon, Pick 3 Pokemon
- Strict 3 Day DQ Time
- 2 Month Battle Time Limit
- Infinite Recoveries/Chills per Pokémon
- Three Substitutions per player excluding KO Substitutions
- 1 Mega Evolution
- Switch = OK
- Abilities = ALL
- Items = ON
- Arena: ASB Tournament Arena

"And now I shall use my Coin Flip Poketch App to fairly decide the outco--I mean the starting order of this battle!"
Coin Flip (Heads=VirajVora)
HEADS (VirajVora sends out first)

VirajVora sends out with item.

Let's go, Remiel the Gyarados! Time to show these guys that we're not to be underestimated!
Take this Gyaradosite. You're gonna need it.

[Mega Evolve] Substitute 15 --> Taunt --> Aqua Tail
*If Shuckle uses Encore, then use Dive and push back actions.
*If Shuckle is under the effects of a successful P/E or D/E move when I would act, except on an action when I would use Substitute, then use Dragon Dance and push back actions.

"Round 1 begins with a strategic sendout from YAS. He chooses Shuckle, a mass of rock known for sitting there and not doing much else. He interestingly chooses a Leftover over a Mental Herb, which may come back to bite him. Or maybe not."

"Action 1 is a lot of setup. Remiel the Gyarados Mega Evolves and uses...Substitute? I guess it really hates status. Shuckle sits there and ignores everything, except for his action of setting up Stealth Rock. Action 2 is almost as passive as Remiel Taunts Shuckle, causing it to angrily lash back with Rock Blast. Finally, on Action 3 Shuckle breaks Remiel's Substitute while taking an Aqua Tail in return."

"Shuckle has accomplished its task of sitting there and taking hits, and now may switch out to whatever Pokemon VirajVora chooses. Ooraloo then risks a bad matchup if she chooses to stay in, or first order and Stealth Rock damage if she switches out. This will be interesting."

"Round two is a cat-and-mouse game, in which Gyarados attempts to avoid damage and Lucario attempts to dish it out. The round begins with Gyarados using Protect to evade a Close Combat for a hefty Energy sum. Then Gyarados Dives underwater, but not before taking a Cross Chop, and remains submerged. It then dodges a Close Combat while underwater before surfacing to strike."

"In this round, VirajVora basically seals out the game, with a little bit of fortune, which was mostly unnecessary."

"Heracross sets up a Endure and 15 HP Substitute only to have all of its efforts completely invalidated by a Whirlwind! It does break Braviary's Protect with Feint but it's simply too little, too late. Heracross will now faint upon switching back in, and even more frighteningly, Ooraloo will have to use Syclant!"

"At this point I'd like to reiterate to those of you who bet for the underdogs that all bets are nonrefundable."

Ooraloo specifies an item for Syclant.

Ooraloo's profile says that he has 2 Rare Candy's...
He bought first Rare Candy here... [November 7]
And second Rare Candy here... [November 12]

This match started on November 6, so Ooraloo technically didn't had any Rare Candy, making him unable to equip it to Syclant... Means Syclant has no item held...

Also, Ooraloo please update your prize claim list on your profile as soon as possible, I'll check it after some while hoping you have updated it...

Braviary # Rare Candy "I call this strategy as 'TAKE HIGH DAMAGE AND GIVE LESS DAMAGE OR TAKE EXCESS DAMAGE TO DEAL HIGH DAMAGE'... I know I am good at naming :)"
Brave Bird ~ Brave Bird ~ Brave Bird...
If Syclant is ordered to use Counter, use Tailwind the first instance, Roost the second instance and Heat Wave the third instance...
If Syclant is ordered to use Ice Type Damaging Move, use Brave Bird + Brave Bird Combination Move...
If Syclant is ordered to use Taunt, use Brave Bird + Brave Bird Combination Move...

Also, AOPSUser you still have to fix those things I asked for...

"This round is quick, but it is action packed! We see more than a hundred damage dealt in one action, most of it by one Pokemon."

"Action one, well the only action, had Syclant drop a five-hit Icicle Spear, which did...well more than enough, because Braviary proceeded to take itself out of the battle with a Super Brave Bird. It hit for more than half of Syclant's health, but unfortunately the recoil was too much for poor Braviary."

"Ooraloo is in quite the pickle here--Lucario has an SE STAB on both of his remaining Pokemon! Well, he has three but Heracross is dead as soon as it switches in."
