[OVERVIEW]

Kingdra is a very powerful Pokemon under rain, as not many Pokemon resist its attacks. Kingdra's role on a rain team is to be a sweeper that can easily break through Pokemon like Heatran, Landorus-T and Terrakion. However, Kingdra needs rain in order to function; otherwise, it is too slow and weak. Moreover, it is weak to common spread moves like Mega Gardevoir's and Sylveon's Hyper Voice. Kingdra is also easily beaten by common Grass and Water-types such as Milotic, Rotom-W, and Ferrothorn. Factor in the recoil from Life Orb, and Kingdra can be very easy to wear down. Ludicolo often outclasses Kingdra, as it has access to Fake Out and a better secondary typing, though Kingdra shines in having a very powerful spread move that doesn't hit its partner and being more offensive overall.

Moves
========

Muddy Water is a powerful STAB spread move under rain, KOing Pokemon like Landorus-T and Heatran. Draco Meteor is Kingdra's secondary STAB move that can can hit Pokemon that resist Muddy Water such as Amoonguss, Milotic and Rotom-W. Ice Beam can be used to take out Pokemon that resist Muddy Water but shouldn't be targeted with Draco Meteor, such as Salamence and Breloom, while Hydro Pump can be used as a very powerful single-target move that can be useful for denting bulkier Pokemon such as Zapdos, Kangaskhan, and Cresselia. Protect can be used to let Kingdra avoid an attack for a turn while its partner either attacks a threat or switches to a rain setter.

Set Details
========

252 Special Attack EVs with a Modest nature and Life Orb allow Kingdra to hit as hard as possible. 140 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Bisharp outside of rain and Choice Scarf Landorus-T in rain. The remaining EVs are put into HP to give Kingdra more bulk. Swift Swim doubles Kingdra's Speed under rain, which, in combination with its boosted STAB moves, makes it a threatening weather sweeper.

Usage Tips
========

Kingdra can be led with to impose amazing offensive pressure at the start of the match. Kingdra can also come in late-game with a rain setter to finish off weakened Pokemon. It is not very good to switch Kingdra in directly, as it isn't very bulky. Kingdra should mostly use Muddy Water, using Draco Meteor or a coverage move only against a Pokemon that resists Water or a Wide Guard user.

Team Options
========

If you are using Kingdra, you need Politoed's Drizzle to activate Swift Swim in order for Kingdra to work efficiently. Kingdra struggles with Fairy-types, so Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Mega Metagross, and Aegislash are good partners; Aegislash gets a special mention, as it has Wide Guard to shield Kingdra from Mega Gardevoir's and Sylveon's Hyper Voice. Grass-types such as Ferrothorn, Breloom, and Amoonguss appreciate Kingdra's ability to take out Fire-types that threaten them. Electric-types such as Thundurus can beat bulky Water-types that Kingdra has trouble hitting. Talonflame can beat Grass-types that wall Kingdra. Because Kingdra relies on rain, it is crippled by opposing weather, so Terrakion is a good partner to beat Mega Charizard Y and Tyranitar.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Disable can be used to stop Hyper Voice from Mega Gardevoir and Sylveon. Dragon Pulse is a weaker Dragon-type move that doesn't lower Kingdra's Special Attack. Scald is an option for a perfectly accurate Water-type move that can burn the foe, but it isn't as powerful as Hydro Pump or Muddy Water. Due to Kingdra's high Speed, it can use Quash to stop a foe from going first. Substitute can be used to shield Kingdra from attacks and status moves, but it wastes a turn of rain and wears down Kingdra quickly in combination with Life Orb. Lum Berry can heal paralysis from Kingdra, which can be useful, as Kingdra relies on its high speed. Choice Specs can be used to hit harder at the cost of being locked into one move. Rain Dance is an option for Kingdra to set its own rain.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**:Fairy-types like Sylveon and Mega Gardevoir can take any hit from Kingdra and easily KO it with their Pixilate-boosted Hyper Voice . Azumarill also completely walls Kingdra, as it resists all of its attacks.

**Bulky Grass-types**: Some Grass-types like Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn can survive any attack from Kingdra and easily heal themselves back up with Leech Seed.

**Speed Control**: If Kingdra gets paralyzed, it can be easily outsped by Pokemon with average Speed such as Salamence, Kangaskhan, and Hydreigon.

**Water-types**: Water types such as Milotic, Suicune, and Rotom-W can eat up most of Kingdra's attacks.

**Opposing Weather**: As Kingdra relies heavily on rain, sun and sand greatly hinder its power and Speed.

Overview
  • "Very powerful especially under rain" - Should be removed/reworded. It's only viable under Rain.
  • You've stated that it's often outclassed by Ludicolo, but haven't given a reason to ever use Kingdra over it. For example, it has access to a spread move that isn't Surf in Muddy Water, and support options like Quash and Disable. Fake Out should also be cited as a reason why Ludicolo generally outclasses it.
Set
  • I feel it's worth slashing Dragon Pulse beside Draco Meteor. A big appeal of it being that you have a 100% accurate STAB move alongside Muddy Water to reliably finish off weaker foes.
Moves
  • Muddy Water's imperfect accuracy should probably get a glancing mention.
Team Options
  • Electric-types like Thundurus can handle opposing Water-types which Kingdra deals little damage to. This point should also be brought up when mentioning Grass-type teammates.
Other Options
  • I'm not sure that Icy Wind is worth mentioning. Generally, Kingdra is better off trying to maximise its damage output rather than attempting Speed Control, and its mandatory partner, Politoed, will very often run Icy Wind itself.
  • Substitute is a good option. Opponents will often try to stall out Rain by using Protect, which you can take advantage of by setting up a Substitute. It also blocks status like Paralysis.
  • Lum Berry also blocks status, and is the better option for doing so against Prankster Pokemon.
  • Choice Specs is an option for more immediate damage at the cost of flexibility. Sleep Talk is viable alongside it.
  • Quash can work due to Kingdra's high Speed under Rain. It causes an opponent to move last, allowing Kingdra's slower partner to take care of a threat.
Checks and Counters
  • Azumarill is another Fairy-type that checks Kingdra. Its Water-typing means it resists Kingdra's Water-type attacks, and it can OHKO Kingdra with Play Rough.
  • This is more of a check than a counter, but bulky Water-types in general take Kingdra's attacks well and have ways of dealing with it. Suicune and Milotic can Icy Wind to slow Kingdra down for teammates. The former also has access to Snarl, and the latter can Recover off attacks like Draco Meteor easily. Rotom-W's Electric-typing helps offensively, and it also has access to Thunder Wave.
  • "Paralysis" could be changed to 'Speed Control' in general. Opposing Tailwind, Trick Room, Icy Wind etc... are all problematic for Kingdra.
  • Opposing weather setters can remove the Rain Kingdra is so reliant on.

Yo first QC check here haha, I do have a few things to address though

Overview:
  • Remove mention about the support moves, those are more of an OO thing so it should not be said in the overview.
  • Mention how Kingdra's biggest niche over Ludicolo is that it is a complete nuke in the rain. Most Ludicolo doesn't play as offensively as Kingdra
  • Mention how Kingdra almost always needs a Life Orb, so that makes it really easy to wear down

Set Comments:
  • Move that Thundurus mention to Team Options lol
Usage Tips:
  • Mention that Kingdra wants to use Muddy Water as much as possible and should only use Draco Meteor + coverage when there is something that can stop Muddy Water, such as a Wide Guard user or when using coverage is more advantageous
  • Kingdra works really well late-game when your opponent's Pokemon has all been weakened due to its super powerful spread move, so it can be good at times to save Kingdra + rain setter in the back rather than lead with it
Team Options:
  • Talonflame beats bulky Grass types that Kingdra struggle with while Kingdra can beat Rock types that threaten Talonflame
  • Mention how Aegislash has access to Wide Guard to protect against Hyper Voice
  • Terrakion can threaten the other two weather setters, Charizard and Tyranitar, while also being really good against common priority users like Bisharp, Thundurus, and Talonflame.
Other Options:
  • Rain Dance is worth the mention to set the weather back to Rain if you predict a zard y switch in or w/e
Checks and Counters:
  • What Carbonific said about weather setters, Kingdra is pretty trash without Rain.
That's pretty much all I have to say for now. Tag me when you get these implemented and I'll give you a check! :toast:

Add weather into checks and counters, and when I was talking about the part about how Kingdra can work late game, I didn't mean for you to remove the part about leading kingdra. Add that part back and reword what you have into something like, Kingdra can work effectively late game as well due to its powerful spread move being able to finish off weakened Pokemon, so it can be best at times to save Kingdra + rain setter until then because what you have so far gives the allusion that Kingdra can only work late game. After it gets implemented QC [1/2]

okay they will be added

Mention Protect in moves, it currently has no explanation.

**Opposing Weather**: As Kingdra relies on rain sun and sun greatly weaken Kingdras power
Yeah you might want to change the "sun and sun" part to mentioning sand as well

Other than that this looks pretty solid, qc 2/2

Muddy Water is a powerful STAB spread move under rain, KOing Pokemon allowing you to pick up KOs on pokemon like Landorus-T and Heatran, it can also lower accuracy at the cost of a chance to miss. (I know you're comparing it to Surf, but the way it's phrased here makes it not really relevant) Draco Meteor is your Kingdra's secondary STAB Choice which move that can can hit pokemon Pokemon that resist Muddy Water like such as Amoonguss, Milotic and Rotom-W. Ice Beam can be used to take out pokemon Pokemon that resist Muddy Water but you don't want to use shouldn't be targeted with Draco Meteor, such as on like Salamence and Breloom, (AC) while Hydro Pump can be used as a very powerful single-(AH)target move which that can be useful in for denting bulkier pokemon like Pokemon such as Thundurus (are you sure?), Kangaskhan, (AC) and Cresselia.

Ok I'll redo the first heck to catch the stuff I missed. Sorry thought I had it all

EDIT: Oh sorry I wasn`t 100% sure how to do it and retyped it

Kingdra is a very powerful Pokemon under rain, as not many Pokemon resist its attacks. Kingdra's role on a rain team is to be a sweeper with lots of offensive power (redundant) that can easily break through pokemon Pokemon like Heatran, Landorus-T and Terrakion. However, Kingdra needs rain in order to function; otherwise, it is too slow and weak. Moreover, it is weak to common spread moves like Mega Gardevoir's and Sylveon's Hyper Voice. Kingdra is also easily beaten by common grass Grass and water-types Water-types such as Milotic, Rotom-W, (AC) and Ferrothorn.
