Reserving sawk skuntank and Scyther

It's a pretty classic core Scyther and sawk love the way how skuntank can easily lure things such as rhydon/quagsire/other scyther/Gourgeist & cie, and defeat the bulky psychic. Skuntank's defog is amazing for this core because it help Scyther to come more time and he allow Sawk to keep Sturdy. Scyther is here to help the core to check a lot of things such as sawk, villeplume, torterra, audino-mega (unless Offensive CM) and then click x with sawk and win.

Sawk (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- Zen Headbutt

Skuntank @ Life Orb

Hitmonchan @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
- Rapid Spin

Cacturne @ Life Orb
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Giga Drain
- Sucker Punch
- Spikes

Vivillon @ Leftovers
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Sleep Powder
- Quiver Dance
- Hurricane

Vivillon is one of the cheesiest sweepers in NU with its 97.5% accurate Sleep Powder and 91% accurate Hurricane with 30% Confusion chance. While most people use the Focus Sash + 2 Attacks set, I prefer to use Leftovers + Substitute as Vivillon forces a lot of switches and can often capitalise on the opponent's decisions with a Substitute. It also lets you setup more easily as it gives you a safety net for when the opponent wakes up from your Sleep Powder, as well as protection from priority attacks. AV Hitmonchan is a solid partner that can reliably keep Stealth Rock off your side of the field, can switch into special attacks that threaten Vivillon and Cacturne, and its STAB Fighting attacks have great coverage with Vivillon's Hurricane and Cacturne's Dark Pulse. Meanwhile, Cacturne deals with spinblockers, provides Spikes support for Vivillon's sweep, and compensates for Vivillon's lack of Energy Ball or Giga Drain by dealing with the likes of Rhydon and Lanturn.

Although you 100% need a good switch in to Flying attacks... :p

Rotom-Fan @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature

- Trick
- Thunderbolt

Sawk (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Zen Headbutt
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off

Zweilous @ Choice Band
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch
- Outrage
- Sleep Talk
- Aqua Tail/Superpower

Pretty easy, spam powerful attacks with zweilous and sawk to clean with scarf rotom-f, aside from cleaning rotom also checks threats to your band duo like archeops and fighting types. Zweilous lures in rhydon (aqua tail is bad since outrage 2HKO's it anyways and hustle sucks, but I couldn't think of anything better, superpower is an option) so rotom-f can do its job.

Also known as the screw shiftry core.

Skuntank @ Expert Belt

- Defog

Archeops
Ability: Defeatist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Acrobatics
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
- Roost / Stealth Rock

pretty cool offensive core of 3 mons that help weaken eachothers checks and/or counters. Lure Skuntank is nice because it beats Klinklang which is otherwise threatening for Archeops. also does a number to Mesprit with Dark Pulse which is nice for Hitmonchan and Archeops. Archeops hurts Rhydon a lot with Aqua Tail and weakens it for LO Chan or Ebelt Skun to pick them off later.

Hariyama @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 220 SpD / 36 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- Bullet Punch
- Heavy Slam

Shiftry @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch

Swellow @ Choice Specs
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Boomburst
- U-turn
- Heat Wave
- Sleep Talk

This core really focuses on swellow's appreciation of shitry and hariyama's forcing out of pokemon such as rhydon and regirock, as well as weakening pokemon like Mega-Audino and Musharna very-very heavily, with Heavy Slam doing more than CC and not lowering my defenses, as well as out damaging gleam. I chose to put sleep talk on swellow because it gives me a sleep absorber that I very much need with this core, because Shiftry doesn't like HP Fires/Hurricanes(swellow doesn't like a hurricane, but not much does lol). The core can be paired with something like musharna to create a very balanced structure, providing a solid defensive backbone.

Combusken @ Life Orb

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Malamar @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature

Rotom-Fan @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch / Thunderbolt
- Air Slash
- Hidden Power Grass
- Will-O-Wisp

So right now Combusken is like the best thing to have on offense right now except maybe Scyther. It justs comes in, attacks or protects, then when something threatening comes in, it simply baton passes out of there and passes its lovely speed boosts to other pokemon like Malamar and Rotom-S and who then just come in and sweep you. Malamar is the aforementioned sweeper, who can take advantage of speed boosts to set up more easily, Superpower doing damage all the while. Rotom-S is kind of the glue for this core, offering Will-O-Wisp support, not to mention luring in important threats like Rhydon and Quagsire with HP Grass. It can also provide momentum with Volt Switch(or it can use T-Bolt if you want more power), and it also checks Scyther and Samurott, which otherwise destroys the core.

This offensive core synergies really well with eachother. With Swellow as fast hard hitter, Sawk as best wallbreaker in this meta and Skuntank to deal with the bulky Psychic types. To go more in detail: what Swellow and Sawk are not able to break such as Musharna and Mega-Audino, are beaten by Skuntank. What beats Skuntank or is Skuntank not able to do much to such as Rhydon and Regirock, are beaten by Sawk. Swellow also helps with the pokémons that are faster then Sawk and Skuntank with the amazing base speed of 125. Overall this core is really offensive and you have to predict the switches very well, if you able to do that then this core can be really threatning right from seeing the team match ups.

Holiano is the winner with shadestep being the runner up.

This week is a bit weird, but I believe it works because it has a lot of options available to it. This week is going to be
balance cores. All three of these types, while seemingly a weird combo, have decent synergy and I feel like some imagination can be applied here as well. Good luck and see you guys on Friday for voting! :)

P.S. I would prefer no drops be used as they are fresh and haven't had enough time to truly settle in the meta, but feel free to post them if you can explain yourself well enough.

EDIT: Sorry about tagging Jarii, but Alice voted right before I posted to not have me "break the tie" as there was no longer a tie so I revoked my tiebreaking votes which is why shadestep is the runner up now instead of Jarii (who was originally tagged).

Banned deucer.
Reserving Klinklang | Lanturn | Mesprit

This is a pretty cool balanced Volt-Turn core whos goal is to facilitate a Klinklang sweep by wearing down its checks and counters by consistently using Volt Switch & U-Turn to the point where Klinklang can set up and sweep. Despite an absolutely awful move-pool, Klinklang has the tools to be n excellent late game sweeper, including the ability to set up on a multitude of the tier with its signature move, Shift Gear. Specs Laturn is an excellent partner to Klinklang as it eliminates its #1 counter in Quagsire with HP Grass while also weakening physically defensive walls such as Garbodor, Weezing, Gourgeist, and more. Finally, Mesprit completes the core by providing the U-Turn of the Volt-Turn duo with Lanturn. Mesprit can be considered the cores "glue" as it can set up Stealth Rock, helping Klinklang rack up more KOs. Mesprit can reliably check Fighting types for the core as well. Mesprit can also make use of Thunder Wave & Healing Wish; the former being used to cripple faster offensive Pokemon to help give Klinklang a chance of setting up on & Healing Wish, should Klinklang get low on health before or during its sweeping.

Klinklang @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shift Gear
- Gear Grind
- Return
- Substitute

Lanturn @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 72 SpD / 184 Spe

- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Grass

Mesprit @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe

- U-turn

Reserving Lix/Mantine\Musharna

Steelix @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 244 HP / 136 Atk / 128 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

Mantine @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 244 HP / 232 Def / 16 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Air Slash
- Defog
- Toxic

Musharna @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 160 HP / 232 Def / 116 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonlight
- Calm Mind
- Barrier
- Stored Power

Pretty good bulky balance/stall core ngl. Steelix is a very good all around pokemon, sporting decent offenses, check cm psychics and audino as well as normal types. It provides stealth rock and heavy slam hits everything extremely hard with heavy slam. Leftovers provide decent passive recovery allowing Steelix to take on threats like Swellow and Tauros who both carry coverage to hit lix better, better. Next comes Mantine, Mantine checks the fires and grounds that would want to come in on Steelix, it's also a seconday "check" to cm users with toxic. Scald helps spread more statuses and air slash is so you arent useless against other waters. finally we have CMB Mushy. Mushy is going to be a huge threat even though there are more checks towards it, but more things to break it's checks. It can sweep a lot of unprepared just due to the fact its so damn fat and doesn't even die to crits lol ;-;. This core is p. passive as it is, because mush needs to set up; mantine isn't very strong and 'Lix isn't fully invested in atk. I'd pair this core with something like Sawk to remove the dark types that this core kinda can't, like shiftry

- Leech Seed

Pelipper @ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe

- Roost
- Defog

Musharna @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Barrier
- Stored Power
- Calm Mind
- Moonlight

barrier musharna is one of my favorite mons rn and it goes really well with pelipper and seed, peli can deal with most rockers and get rid of stuff that threatens mushy like steelix, ferroseed works as a half decent sceptile check and provides stealth rocks and spread paralysis for the rest of the team.

Lanturn @ Leftovers

EVs: 40 HP / 220 Def / 208 SpD / 40 Spe

Mesprit @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature

- Psychic
- U-turn
- Thunder Wave

very cool bulky balance core. Mawile is actually pretty cool and should be seen more often. Intimidate is very useful as it allows it to check most normal-types a lot better except for Fire Blast ones, which we have Lanturn for. Lanturn takes care of things like Pyroar, AV Mag, etc. Mesprit is there for fighting types as they pressure Mawile a bit too much to soley rely on it. I have Signal Beam > Stealth Rock just for other psychics and most notably Malamar.
