As Wheezer said, Team 4 is probably the best all around team as it actually has a way to deal with Mega Medicham, however, I would like to add that this team is still heavily threatened by Mega Lopunny despite the chople berry Ferrothorn. I honestly have no suggestions to improve the team without accentuating other weaknesses or creating new ones.

Team 1

I am not sure how Mega Medicham is a threat with Talonflame being part of the core but trying to find a switch in to this thing is hard even for stall.

Normally when the votes are small I give it an extra day but it was winning by a higher margin so Team 4 by Moony wins this round. Teams now in hall of fame.

It's Christmas Eve or Christmas depending on where you are. Let us embrace the holidays by thanking me for being so wonderful for hosting this thread hahahaah.

Round 18 Concept: Mega Abomasnow

Enjoy.

yeah i dunno wtf this is supposed to be but i took a made a balance team and tried to make it have as little threats as possible but considering it has aboma of all things thats not happening. tldr; mega aboma is a dogshit mon and just ruins any sort of consistency of builds because it needs too much support and takes up the mega slot so you might as well give up there.

I love you AM. I kinda want to go over some elements one can include when building around President Snow.

Potential Sets: This should be fairly obvious, SD with Ice Shard, Wood Hammer, and EQ or AoA Special with Blizzard, Giga, Focus Blast, and Ice Shard. If regular snow is allowed, a similar could be run with a life orb with another mega.

Trapping: Particularly for Heatran or Ferrothorn. We may even see teams with both Magneton and Dugtrio, as they eliminate almost all steels, which help Snow sweep or wallbreak much better

Volt-Turn Core:
This may be the most common way to build with. Things including Rotom-Wash, probably strictly Lefties variants due to hail, Tornadus-Therian, and the like help check multiple threats to Abomasnow, including Talonflame, Heatran, and Keldeo, albeit the latter is a check.

Ice Spam:
We probably may see one or two teams revolved around this strategy. Things like Kyurem or even Jynx and Rotom-Frost can take part in this Christmas miracle. Most likely we see the trapping element involved with these types of teams.

Trick Room: Probably another strategy we see a team utlize, as Mega Snow is actually really good on TR and can utilize a Ferrothorn lure while being a hard hitter similarly to Mega Steelix on the most common TR variant. I'm neither experienced playing with TR nor play it well so I cant offer too much input on this.

Lures:
Things to lure Talonflame, Heatran, and most Fire types in general. Things like Coba Keldeo, Earthquake on Latios, and the the like seem to be the most effective in checking threats while luring others, providing multiple roles for a Mega Abomasnow team.

Other Partners: Definitely a spinner or defogger of sorts, the aforementioned Latios can defog away hazards and still lure Heatran as previously stated. SpD SD Wisp Talonflame also makes a sick partner especially if you are play the trapping or lure game, as it really enjoys Heatran being gone as well as luring in other weather setters such as Politoed, Tyranitar, and Hippowdon and weakening them with Will-o-Wisp.

Rough Draft: Here's a rough draft of a team I threw together following this guide:

Snow (still deciding SD or AoA) / SpD SD Wisp Acro Talonflame / Earthquake Defog Latios / Lefties Rotom-Wash / SR SpD Heatran / Iron Tail AV Tornadus-Therian

If I have time, ill write a proper description and import but im going on vacation tomorrow so I don't know

Abomasnow-Mega @ Abomasite
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Ice Shard
- Blizzard
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake

Kyurem @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 24 HP / 252 SpA / 232 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Blizzard
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 56 HP / 220 Atk / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Swords Dance

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 88 HP / 216 SpA / 204 Spe
Timid Nature

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 76 SpD / 12 Spe
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Moonblast
- Encore
So I decided I might as well make some kinda Ice Spam to take advantage of the Hail as well, Kyurem was the obvious choice here. Double Dance Lando-T to take advantage of things like Ferrothorn and set up so that it can break through, as well as Encore Clefable to facilitate this. Starmie is standard, Thunderbolt because one water check is not enough, it always gets worn down too fast. Heatran to trap stuff like Clefable that is always annoying. etc.
ahabb keeps getting me replays because i cant play worth shit...

One of the biggest issues I always have had with mega-Obama as many will no doubt have is having to deal with its horrid defensive typing that leaves it weak to a vast array of common types. This team while not a full blown TR team with multiple setters is meant to help create a better environment for mega-Obama so that it can spam Strong Stab Blizzards denting even resisted targets.
The EV's for mega-Obama, specifically the attack EV's, allow Obama to 100% kill Heatran with earthquake. The Conkeldurr's EV's are meant to speed creep min speed Clefable while not investing to much so that it can abuse Trick Room. While the Supportive Scizor is meant to help deal with a variety of threats such as Kyurem-Black.

So Mega-Abomasnow isn't really that great in OU, but it can do some good things like set hail and beat fat ground types. Specs Kyurem was added to complete ice spam and blow things out of the water with blizzards. Obviously, first two are super weak to rocks so Tentacruel was added to spin, really good synergy wise with the first two. Landorus-T is the obligatory sand/bird/Zard-X check, colbur berry allows it to check bisharp and is actually super handy. Latios w/Draco Plate over Life Orb since Orb + hail damage adds up really fast, spams Dracos to kill things in conjunction with Kyurem. Scarfrachi gives a steel/speed control/healing wish. Pretty solid team overall, some neat sets, as always if you have trouble with something unexpected Jirachi aka greatest mon in the game can save the day with a few well timed flinches.
just fyi colbur berry only works on super effective hits

Abomasnow is ass in ou theres no other way to put it, its to slow and is weak to way to many common types. I guess its got 100% accurate blizzard buts thats just not enough. After abomasnow i went with Keldeo since it checks most fire types barring talonflame and it gets rid of pesky steels for abomasnow. It was specs at first but the team was kinda slow so i changed it to scarf to give me a reliable way to revenge lop and somewhat beat +1 zardx. After keldeo i went with fast wisp tran to handle bisharp if keldeo ever gets weakened. Tran is also my main clef answer since its taunt tran and clef cant really touch it. After tran i was noticing i was a bit weak to lop even with scarf keld i couldnt switch in so i went with rocky helmet lando-t with rocks since everyteam needs rocks! Lando is a great blanket check to physical attackers and my main way of beating talonflame. Latios was a pretty easy choice since i lacked a keldeo switch in and a zardy switch in while also needing hazard removal for aboma. Clefable was added as a wincon and all around annoying pokemon with twave for speed control. Overall the team would be better if it had something other then mega-abomasnow but i think it turned out alright

]My initial thoughts when building around Mega Abomasnow were that I'd need something that could threaten Heatran and other bulky steels (M-Zor and Ferrothorn), so I chose Keldeo as a partner. The EVs in speed are used to ensure that you don't risk a speed tie with Slowbro, Slowking, and Reuniclus. In return, Keldeo appreciates Mega Abomasnow's ability to threaten bulky waters that trouble it, (Slowbro, Amoonguss and AV Tangrowth), as well as its ability to pick off weakened Eon twins with Ice Shard. Garchomp is chosen because both members are quite weak to Talonflame and Scizor (should Keldeo be in range of +2 BP), and also because it's important to have a Stealth Rock user that can threaten Heatran on a hail team. Latias serves as the team's counter to Keldeo, and is chosen over Latios for its consistency in bulk, allowing it to Defog multiple times in a game. If given a safe switch in, Stallbreaker Talonflame can switch in and threaten Clefable with Taunt (Mega Abomansow's Blizzard fails to 2HKO), allowing it to beat it in a 1v1. Talonflame's EVs in physical defense allow it to avoid the 2HKO from Mega Gardevoir's Psyshock (94.5% of the time), while the EVs in special defense allow it to stomach a Draco Meteor from Latios if absolutely necessary. Lastly, Raikou is chosen for its ability to check opposing electrics (and Mega Pinsir) while being able to set up and threaten bulkier teams with Calm Mind. Because it forfeits momentum against bulky grounds, I can capitalize on Raikou's presence to instead double switch into said ground type, and fire off a low risk attack, allowing me to break through my opponent's defensive core. It should be noted that this team requires aggressive play, but can be quite solid if played to its strengths.

Scotti

we back.

Okay so I decided to change some things to improve the team, and kinda made a new goal to the team. So the goals varies depending on what kind of team I face. Against fast offensive team, I try to para everything I can with clefable, and clean up with abomansow, while the other mons usually cover up weaknesses. Against Bulky offense I just dish slower passive damage and try to wear down my opponents team before they can defeat me. Against Balance, semi stall, and stall I usually click taunt alot with both tflame and skarmory and I try to break them with my 3 set up sweepers. My team has a lot easier time with bulky team now that I added tflame over latias, and changed some sets to be more offensive. Overall, the team is alot better from before.

@ Scotti: Scizor wrecks this team. Scald burn or Flamethrower from Clefable is your only chance against it. Skarmory can counter but it can't really do any damage. Plus, it gets hit hard by Superpower since it's invested in SpD. One person I played against had a Defog U-turn Roost Scizor and there was no way to kill it. Gengar also easily kills most of the mons, though Skarmory can counter it. Ferrothorn is similarly a pain in the ass, with again, Skarmory bearing the burden of countering it. I'm fooling around with this team now and there's a ton of problems, it does so little damage to the opponent. Most attacks are weak as hell. Stealth Rock and weather damage are far from enough. I'm pretty disappointed cause I do love playing with Abomasnow

Clefable was added as a wincon and all around annoying pokemon with twave for speed control. Overall the team would be better if it had something other then mega-abomasnow but i think it turned out alright
Team 5

My initial thoughts when building around Mega Abomasnow were that I'd need something that could threaten Heatran and other bulky steels (M-Zor and Ferrothorn), so I chose Keldeo as a partner.

Team 6
