Introduction

To celebrate the release of the RBY VC games, in which many trainers have captured Mew for the first time, we'll be hosting a tournament in which Mewtwo is banned, but Mew is legal.

RBY Mewbers World Championship is our first ever RBY Mewbers tournament to find our first champion Mewberer. Like previous Gen 1 World Championship tournaments, Rounds will be best of 3 until 16, 20, or 25 are left. Then they'll be two double round-robin group stages, usually going down to 8 and then 4. The semi-finals and finals will be best of 5.

  • Stadium OU / RBY Ubers World Championship (tentatively May 2016, to be voted on nearer the time). Gen 1 tournaments are marked in red here.
RBY Mewbers Format:
  • Banned Moves: Dig, Double Team, Fissure, Fly, Guillotine, Horn Drill, Minimize (Dig/Fly Glitch Prevention + Evasion + OHKO moves).
  • Banned Pokémon: Mewtwo.
  • Clauses: Freeze Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause.
Tournament Format (50 man):
  • Round 1 - 25 best of 3 matches (50 unseeded players with a substitution period)
  • Round 2 - 5 x 5 double round-robin groups (25 unseeded players)
  • Round 3 - 2 x 5 double round-robin groups (2 or 3 x 1st and 2 or 3 x 2nd Round 2 seeds in each group)
  • Round 4 - 2 best of 5 matches (2 x 1st vs 2nd Round 3 seeds from alternate groups)
  • Finals - 1 best of 5 match (2 players)
Tie rules:
  • Battle ties will not be counted in any best of match, but they will now count in round-robin matches as 1/2 a point each.
  • Ties between 1st and/or 2nd positions in a group will result in a single battle or single round-robin of battles repeated, until positions within the group are established.
Arrange location: Profile Posts on the Smogon Forums.
Battle location: Challenge in the RBY Ubers tier on Pokémon Showdown! (Pokémon Online if both users agree) and don't use Mewtwo!

won 2-0 vs mr 378 ggs, tauros came thru vs his bro g2, otherwise it wouldve been a lot troublesome
