Pokemon Shuffle General Discussion

You know, I'm 30 ... I work 5 days a week and 9 hours a day so it just depends on what you want to do ... But I only play Shuffle I admit it

Finally managed to skip at least 1 boss level and it was 250. Don't think I'm going after 300 since it seems to require an extreme amount of luck and I'm low on coins anyway, hopefully I get a decent score at Mega Blaziken comp instead.

Of note

Azelf has Purrloin as a 5th Support and Volbeat spawns as a Disruption.

Zygarde can spawn Xerneas and Yveltal as a Disruption, and after getting weak will spam a LOT of Ice, Rocks, and Metal Blocks, so be ready to deal with those.

Also, Special Shop with some items. 2 Jewels and a limited number you can buy for 2 weeks.

- Infinite Hearts for 1 Hour

- Hearts regen in 15 minutes for a 24 hour period, Cap becomes 10, and receive 6 hearts

These items might be useful to Jewel Hoarders for clearing out the Escalation Battle quickly or trying to farm up a bunch of coins for it or the new stages.

That's a HUGE content !!! Thanks :)

Got Blazikenite + Raise Max Level (Ranked 1700 !!!)

Got Zygarde Perfect in Great Ball (AP + DD + MS with Mega Rayquaza)
Got Dusknoir, Azelf, Tyrogue also.

Starting with Safari now.

I have updated my previous post with all the new data and what is to come next week.

Finally, Ampharos is not alone with the non Dragon-type having Dancing Dragons.

As for me, I got the Blazikenite and the RML coming in the top 200 with just over 70k. Not bad.

Congratz for the ranking. Dancing Dragons on Zweilous is still useless like on Ampharos ... :) There is no reason to use a Dark and a Dragon Pokemon during the same stage (same for Electric & Dragon)

Of the new stages, only Barbaracle seems interesting ! And Huntail is only 60 and Gorebyss 70 ? Well Done AHAHAH

Mega Scizor is meh ... Especially when Heracross is already so good ! It will face competition with Gengar/Banette/Heraboss against Psychic ... with so many other Mega versus Grass ... And against Dark, Fighting/Fairy/Heracross Mega will be also very useful !

I will be waiting for Magmortar/Electabuzz/Kingdra ... Bellosom will be another good Pokemon with a bad type :(

Yeah, there's a lot of probable Great Challenges in this update, but only 12 or so good (base 70+) Pokemon. But we get two Unown, and one's packing Mega Boost+ for Sunday Meowth Mewtwo runs.

Tried Azelf with a MS+DD+AP and failed hard the first time, ran a second time and beat it with 1% on the clock, then it fled after the first Great Ball. I'm just rolling the Escalation for the Mega Speedup, then doing another attempt once I'm awake and have caffeine. (And maybe a C-1 because holy crap.) Then I'll start picking away at the main stages.

Managed to grab a speedup from the Blaziken comp doing an itemless run so I'm quite satisfied with that (sorry for those who actually wanted the stone)
I failed both Azelf and Zygarde on my first itemless runs as expected so I think I'll focus on latios EB for now and see what I get.

You're forgetting about Mega Rayquaza. Zweilous and Seadra having DD are great for stages whose types they're strong against (Psychic, Ghost/Fire, Ground, and Rock, respectively) although Zweilous has slightly less utility as Sinister Power could be run with stronger Pokemon. Water has no equivalent boosting ability, so Seadra might actually make a decent choice for boosting Mega Ray in various stages with light(er) disruptions and timed stages. I used Ampharos with Mega Rayquaza in this manner to get Ash-Greninja, and it's very effective. Too bad the two new 'uns don't have a higher BP, but whatever.

This was my big takeaway from the new releases. Having a Mega Boost+ for Mewtwo Y makes it the undisputed king for Sunday Meowth; I'm skipping the challenges until I can get my hands on it for this upcoming weekend.

Okay, I'm gonna need help on that Trapinch puzzle. I've tried it many times over and still can't find the correct solution.
I believe the board was like this (with 5 moves):
Code:
T C C J C J
R E C M J R
R E E C J R
B R C M R B
B R C M R B
B B T T B B
T = Trapinch; C = Chandelure; J = Joltik; E = Emboar; M = Maractus; R = Rock; B = Block

EDIT: Well, never mind. I guess I found the solution on my own after all.
Swap D2 (Maractus) for D6 (Trapinch)
Swap C6 (Trapinch) for D6 (Chandelure)
Swap B3 (Chandelure) for C6 (Emboar)
Swap D4 (Joltik) for E3 (Chandelure)
Swap A2 (Trapinch) for D4 (Chandelure)
and watch as the Trapinch gnaw away at the Trapinch.

These Special Shop items sound interesting! Does one stand out as the obvious better one so far, or is it just a matter of preference mainly?
Probably depends on situation. The unlimited Hour is good for a short burst on something like the Escalation battle or blazing through main stages, while the accelerator is a bit better if you've got a busy day with play patches at work or such.

Update 1.6 is now out for Mobile. Requires basically redownloading the entire game.

Fiddled with the friends system, updated the UI and added Battle Cards (which I am currently working through). I also got an RML from the "event of the update"? lol

Game now also shows how much XP you have gained from stages and you can now add friends through the App too. I assume this is based on a friend code... so I am not sure how this would work (or whether it is cross platform).

Still trying to level up some Latios/Grind/Now get the Lucarionite from the Battle Cards, I am sure this will help greatly vs mega Glalie!

Did you get also the Survival Mission ? Now it seems that this update makes the two games almost identical (except the Friends code vs Streetpass ?)

As a mobile user, I'm loving this update! Yes we got Survival Mode too!! Yeah, there's a friend code so you don't need Facebook. Friends are now limited to 30.

If anyone wants to add me, my code is 8J2HNLU3 and I'm a daily player :)! Not sure if friends are now region-free so only add me if you're EU. If you're not sure what you are, check the ad at the bottom of the start page. If it is Break Point TCG then you should be the same region as me, EU.

What's the bonus of friends on Mobile version ? Some free hearts ? how many a day ?
There's a bar that fills whenever you send/receive a heart. You used to have a limit of 25 friends. According to my experience everyday, you get +6 hearts when you send to all of your friends, so I assume if everyone sends to you you'll get +6 as well, on average. That could possibly increase to +7 now that the friend limit is 30.

For those of you who are struggling with the Scraggy stage on Shuffle, I put up a step by step guide on Miiverse (spoilered) which can be found here.

Anyhow, I am up to Seadra at the moment who has been kinda road-blocking me due to bad luck and me persevering in trying to get past it itemless. We will get the clear eventually. Zygarde Complete I cleared and caught in a Great Ball using AP ↑ and DD with Mega Rayquaza + Pixie Power spam. Azelf was really annoying but I caught it using Mega Start, AP ↑, and DD with Mega Absol / Darkrai / Giratina / Volbeat.

Planning to beat all the main stages before I touch the escalation. IDK whether or not I will try and beat it in a sitting or two via the Special Shop stuff (Infinite Hearts for an hour specifically) though you only get five to use period. Anger in the 3DS version of the Latios Escalation seems to be less likely relative to what Zygarde 50% was apparently.

Seen Anger a lot less. I'm planning to get the Level 150 Speed up from Latios, then shifting back to main stages. If I finish them early I'll see about going a bit further with it.

Yes Anger is less frequent I guess but it occurs 4 or 5 times in 60 stages (it still saves some hearts).

Got Latios, Latiosite, Castform, I've completed the Safari ! I focus on EB (+ daily Pokemon) I want to reach level 150 at least ...

Timed Escalation Battle are really stressful :)

I am EU too and can share friend code:

VR6V-8MRD

I play everyday as well atm... Not a lot better to do and its a good way of wasting a few minutes haha.

Got upto Gengar now (Who is surprisingly hard). Just need to level Umbreon a little more though and it should be easy enough. Mega Glalie needs some levelling as well now, he will be useful vs a lot of the dragons that are sure to come soon.

Caught Mantyke and it was more hard than I thought !
Currently level 115 in EB Latios ... That will take some time ... It's Golden week in Japan (Check Wikipedia if needed :)), so we will have Free Check in items :

Thursday 28/4 Mega Start
Friday 29/4 10 Hearts
Saturday 30/4 EXP x1.5 x2
Sunday 1/5 +5 turns x2
Monday 2/5 EXP Booster S x3
Tuesday 3/5 3,000 coins
Wednesday 4/5 Raise Max Level
Thursday 5/5 Jewel
Friday 6/5 EXP Booster M
Saturday 7/5 Attack+
Sunday 8/5 Mega Speedup

Completed all the main stages and got Mega Scizor, though I still need to 100% Violeta Palace (but that will be dealt with in the future). Had to do a second full item run to S-Rank Mega Scizor though because Mega Blaziken was a dumb first time around (like one turn off the S), forcing me to default to Mega Gengar Sky Blast. Also unlocked Yanmega's EX stage and caught it on my second attempt with Mega Gengar Sky Blast, using just a DD (cleared with 22 seconds left, it makes a real difference). Also gave Mega Scizor a spin on Lotad and got the itemless S-Rank off a lucky combo (and then caught it).

Compared to Desert Umbra, Violeta Palace actually felt quite easy to be honest and roughly 80% of the stages that can be cleared without items, and you won't need complexity at all except to S-Rank Mega Scizor imho.

Next stop: Latios EB. And the rest of the Daily Pokémon catches (Mantyke was surprisingly annoying though). Need to put leveling Talonflame up on the bucket list though.

Also:

Man that pose looks badass, like it really means business.
