[OVERVIEW]

Kecleon holds its place in the NU tier as a reliable wallbreaker thanks to its spectacular coverage and movepool, along with its ability, Protean. These traits allow it to break past many common Normal-type checks, making Kecleon a great addition to Normal spam archetypes. Kecleon also sports the fourth strongest Sucker Punch in NU, which lets it deal with fast offensive Pokemon such as Manectric. However, Kecleon's abysmal Speed requires it to invest heavily in the stat simply to outspeed walls and forces it to rely on an only partially invested Sucker Punch to damage anything faster, making it nearly useless against faster teams. Kecleon also has subpar bulk, which makes opportunities to switch Kecleon in extremely rare, as even moderately powerful neutral attacks will leave a dent in it.

Moves
========

Fire Blast is Kecleon's strongest coverage move, allowing it to OHKO many defensive Pokemon, such as Steelix, Gourgeist, and Vileplume after Stealth Rock damage, and 2HKO bulky Poison-types like Garbodor and Weezing. Sucker Punch is a very strong priority move that aids Kecleon in deterring faster, frailer Pokemon that might attempt to revenge kill Kecleon. Iron Tail is a strong coverage move that allows Kecleon to break past Mega Audino, making Kecleon one of the best offensive checks to it. It also gives Kecleon a Steel typing, which has temporary defensive benefits. Knock Off is a reliable and spammable move providing Kecleon with the excellent utility of removing items such as Eviolite and Leftovers. Knock Off also hits Musharna and Lanturn hard, both of which might otherwise attempt to pivot into some of Kecleon's other attacks. Grass Knot allows Kecleon to beat Quagsire, Regirock, and Rhydon and also ensures that Omastar and Barbarcle are not able to set up on Kecleon. Stealth Rock is a great utility move that Kecleon can easily make use of due to the fact that it forces so many switches thanks to its raw power and coverage. Shadow Sneak is a priority move that allows Kecleon to act as a last ditch spinblocker, though Kecleon is unable to switch into Rapid Spin.

Set Details
========

116 Speed EVs allow Kecleon to outspeed Gourgeist-XL and not get burned by Will-O-Wisp. 200 EVs in Special Attack with a Life Orb and a Mild nature is enough to let Kecleon OHKO some switch-ins, such as Gourgeist-XL, Steelix, and Vileplume after Stealth Rock damage. The remaining 192 EVs are dumped into Attack, powering up physical moves immensely and allowing Sucker Punch to have a 75% chance to OHKO Swellow after Stealth Rock damage, as well as a good chance to 2HKO Mega Audino with Iron Tail.

Usage Tips
========

Kecleon is decently powerful and able to break down common defensive cores with its range of physical and special attacks. When facing offensive teams, Kecleon should be used more aggressively, predicting threats like Hariyama and using the appropriate coverage move. Due to its low Speed, Kecleon will mostly be using Sucker Punch to dole out damage to these teams. When facing balanced, slower teams, Kecleon needn't predict such threats, as these balance teams tend to carry slower Pokemon such as Mega Audino, Gourgeist, and Vileplume, all of which are outsped and dealt with by Kecleon. Kecleon can utilize Protean's ability to effectively create mind games, such as using Dark-type attacks on Psychic-type Pokemon in order to evade their STAB moves and clicking Fire Blast on Gourgeist-XL to avoid being burnt by Will-O-Wisp. Kecleon's physical frailty means that it should only be switched in on weaker special attacks, pivoted in via a slow VoltTurn, or brought in on a double switch. Kecleon's reliance on priority to hit anything faster means fast status users, such as Rotom and Mismagius, are able to avoid Sucker Punch and cripple Kecleon with Will-O-Wisp.

Team Options
========

Pokemon that appreciate defensive staples such as Audino and Steelix being severely weakened by Kecleon's various coverage options, such as Tauros, Archeops, Kangaskhan, and Swellow, make for good partners. Pokemon with access to speed control are also viable partners, as they are able to mitigate Kecleon's horrendous Speed stat, allowing Kecleon to fare much better against offensive teams, albeit only for a few turns. Slow Baton Pass and VoltTurn users are also great options to get Kecleon into battle, as they can bring Kecleon in after the opponent attacks so that Kecleon does not take damage; some Pokemon that can do this well are Pelipper and Lanturn. Hazard-stacking cores such as Garbodor + Steelix make for excellent partners because of the extra damage accumulated by the entry hazards they set, helping Kecleon assure KOs on certain targets such as Vileplume and Steelix. Omastar also makes for a great partner, as it has access to three entry hazards, and checks common threats to Kecleon, such as Archeops, Kangaskhan, physical Charizard, and Tauros. Mesprit and Audino are able to significantly slow down threats with Thunder Wave, and the former is able to support Kecleon with Healing Wish, should Kecleon acquire too much Life Orb recoil, and Stealth Rock so Kecleon can nab the KO on Vileplume, Steelix, and Swellow after Stealth Rock damage.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

An Assault Vest and Power-Up Punch set with Knock Off, Sucker Punch, and Drain Punch is able to turn Kecleon into a bulky sweeper; this set also provides a good pivot into the likes of Magmortar and Charizard, but most physically defensive Pokemon are able to handle this set with relative ease, such as Garbodor. Another possible set would be a Life Orb set with Fake Out, Drain Punch, Shadow Sneak, and Sucker Punch, which is difficult for offensive teams to deal with. However, physically bulky Pokemon, such as Vileplume and Pelipper, can wall Kecleon; even Steelix and Rhydon can wall it despite Drain Punch being super effective. A Facade set is able to take advantage of burn and paralysis, both of which are commonly inflicted upon Kecleon, in order to give Kecleon a 140 Base Power attack that is able to dent many Pokemon. Kecleon's priority has the ability to threaten a variety of Pokemon out, allowing it to use Substitute on predicted switches. This allows it to avoid being revenge killed easily and can help prevent it from being hit with status. Kecleon has a colorful movepool but the coverage isn't usually worth it, since it doesn't provide much more than the main set. Thunder Punch and Rock Slide are the two most notable ones, being able to hit Pelipper and Charizard, respectively. Kecleon also has a decent support movepool with moves like Recover and Magic Coat, although Kecleon's low Speed and type changing can be easily exploited when not attacking, exposing it to Fighting- and Dark-type coverage specifically.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Physical Pokemon such as Tauros, Hitmonchan, Malamar, and Zangoose can outspeed Kecleon and are able to take advantage of Kecleon's flawed Defense stat. Kecleon is also scared of faster priority moves such Sucker Punch, Ice Shard, and Fake Out, which can be seen on a multitude of Pokemon, such as Skuntank, Kangaskhan, and Abomasnow. Hitmonchan, Skuntank, Shiftry, and physical Combusken have an easier time against Kecleon, as they do not fear Sucker Punch.

**Mixed Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Hariyama, Musharna, Mantine, and Pelipper are all able to pivot in on Kecleon and force it to take Life Orb damage while they proceed to OHKO it or heal up and then KO Kecleon due to their good natural bulk. Musharna is able to take advantage of Kecleon that lack Knock Off by freely setting up Calm Mind and shrugging off the damage it takes with Moonlight, while Barrier variants are also able to beat Kecleon one-on-one. Mantine and Pelipper are able to come in on anything but Knock Off, and they can scare out Kecleon with the prospect of Scald burns, halving its Attack, and wearing it down extremely quickly. Bulky Charizard only fears the occasional Rock Slide, can Roost off damage from all of Kecleon's attacks, and can proceed to burn Kecleon with Will-O-Wisp or attack with a fast Acrobatics.

In the Set Details, note which move hits what target. You mention Swellow, Garbodor, Gourgeist etc. Specify which move has a chance to OHKO Swellow, do the same for the other mons you mention

Punchshroom I made all of the changes from the check you left on the last analysis and also included what I needed to from Shadestep's post. I also went through and did some grammar fixes since a lot of it was not up to standard (Caps missing and such)

Fire blast is Kecleon's strongest coverage move allowing it to beat many defensive Pokemon such as Steelix and Vileplume after stealth rock damage, as well as Gourgeist, and 2HKOing bulky poison types. Sucker Punch is very strong priority which aids Kecleon in deterring faster, frailer Pokemon who might attempt at revenge killing Kecleon. Iron Tail is a strong coverage which is able to break past many Pokemon who are otherwise able to beat Kecleon 1v1 such as Audino, Rhydon and Cradily. Knock Off is a reliable and spammable STAB, which provides Kecleon the excellent utility of removing items such as Eviolite and Leftovers. Knock Off also hits Musharna and Lanturn who might otherwise attempt to pivot in on some of Kecleon's other attacks. Grass Knot allow Kecleon to beat Quagsire and Rhydon, also ensuring that Omastar and Barbarcle are not able to set up on Kecleon. Stealth Rock is a great utility move that Kecleon can easily make use of due to the fact it forces so many switches due to raw power and coverage. Shadow Sneak is priority that can act as a last ditch spinblocker, although it can't switch into Rapid Spin.
- Change 'beat' to 'OHKO', and also list examples of the bulky Poisons.
- You may list examples of these faster frailer mons, such as Archeops and Swellow and whatnot. Fire-types such as Pyroar and Magmortar are particularly notable targets as they resist the majority of Kecleon's attacks.
- State that Iron Tail's primary use is to beat Mega Audino; it almost never 2HKOes bulky Rhydon, and Cradily is not enough of a problem to warrant Iron Tail (Kecleon has Drain Punch anyway). In fact, emphasize that Iron Tail not only prevents Mega Audino from walling Kecleon, it also turns Kecleon into one of the tier's most potent attackers to combat Mega Audino with. You can also note that Iron Tail turns Kecleon into a Steel-type, which has its mild albeit temporary defensive benefits, but also touch upon Iron Tail's shaky accuracy.
- Add Regirock to the list.

116 Speed EVs allow Kecleon to outspeed Gourgeist-XL, as it allows it to not get burned by Will-o-Wisp although it is able to run 164 speed for 0 Speed Weezing, allowing Kecleon to deal heavy damage with Knock off before being burnt. 200 Special Attack investment with a Life Orb allows Kecleon to OHKO common switch ins such as Gourgeist, Vileplume, and Steelix with Fire Blast and Stealth Rock up. Fire Blast is also able to significantly weaken bulky Poison-types such as Weezing and Garbodor. The remaining 192 EVs are dumped into attack, which power up the physical moves immensely, allowing Sucker Punch to have a 75% to OHKO Swellow after Stealth Rock damage with as well as having a good chance to 2HKO Mega Audino with Iron Tail after Stealth Rock damage.
- Since Weezings make it a point to no longer run 0 Speed, you can remove this point.
- This part is phrased weirdly, and the Fire Blast hitting Poisons bit looks like it fits more in Moves than here. So yeah, fix this up, or remove it if you see fit.
- Iron Tail already has high chances to 2HKO Mega Audino (discounting the shaky accuracy) without the help of SR.

Kecleon has decent power in it's moves, and uses this power to break down defensive cores. When facing offensive teams, Kecleon should be used more aggressively, predicting threats like Hariyama and using the appropriate coverage move. Although due to the low speed, Kecleon will mostly be clicking Sucker Punch to dole out damage to these teams. When facing balanced, slower teams, Kecleon needn't predict such threats, as these balance teams tend to carry slower Pokemon such as Mega-Audino, Gourgeist and Vileplume all of which are outsped and dealt with by Kecleon. Kecleon should abuse Protean's ability to effectively create mindgames, such as clicking Dark-type attacks on Psychic-type Pokemon in order to evade their STABs, and also clicking Fire Blast on Weezing to avoid being burnt by Will-o-Wisp. Knock Off is a staple move that is useful for dealing great damage as well as removing items such as Eviolite and Leftovers. Kecleon's physical frailty means that it should only be switched in on weaker special attacks, or pivoted in via a slow VoltTurn or on a double down. Kecleon's reliance on priority to hit anything faster means fast status users such as Rotom and Mismagius are able to avoid sucker punch and cripple Kecleon with Will-o-Wisp.
- I wouldn't exactly advise Kecleon to prioritize Protean mindgames (ex: there is no point in predicting a Leech Seed using Grass Knot when u can just Fire Blast), just say 'can'.
- Replace Weezing with Gourgeist-XL.
- Since Knock Off is not a staple move on the main set, this should be rephrased.

Pokemon that appreciate defensive staples such as Audino and Steelix being severely weakened by Kecleon's various coverage options. Pokemon like this can include Tauros, Archeops, Kangaskhan, and Swellow. Pokemon with speed control option are also viable partners as they are able to mitigate Kecleon's horrendous speed stat, allowing Kecleon to fair much better against offensive teams, albeit only for a few turns. Mesprit and Audino are able to slow down threats significantly with Thunder Wave, and the former is able to support Kecleon with Healing Wish, should Kecleon acquire too much life orb recoil, or stealth rock to nab KOs on Vileplume, Steelix, and Swellow after Stealth Rocks damage.
- You did not list examples of these Pokemon.

**Physical Attackers**: Physical Pokemon like Tauros, Hitmonchan, and Zangoose can outspeed Kecleon are able to strike in Kecleon's flawed defense stat. Kecleon is also scared of faster priority through the means of moves like Sucker Punch, Ice Shard, and Fake Out which can be seen on Pokemon on a multitude of Pokemon like Skuntank, Kangaskhan, and Abomasnow.
You could probably mention additional Kecleon checks that don't overlap, such as Malamar, Kabutops, offensive Rhydon, etc. Pokemon that can circumvent Kecleon's Sucker Punch should especially be highlighted. Comment on Hitmonchan, Skuntank, Shiftry and physical Combusken's Sucker Punch resistance, allowing them to plow through Kecleon with little concern. Bulky Charizard is an especially huge obstacle for Kecleon without Rock Slide, as it is at zero risk from any of Kecleon's other moves and threatens with a fast Acrobatics and Will-O-Wisp, and can Roost off damage as well.

This looks mostly okay but I think the old physically based set should be in OO. Fake Out + Drain Punch + Sucker Punch + Shadow Sneak with LO can be mildly annoying for offensive teams to deal with since everything gets STAB but emphasise that physically bulky tanks like Rhydon and Steelix can take it out pretty easily despite Drain Punch, as Earthquake and Heavy Slam will do tons of damage and Drain Punch doesn't do quite enough to beat them, while stuff like Pelipper and Vileplume just don't care about the set at all due to their recovery. Stealth Rock should also be mentioned somewhere in OO due to Kecleon's ability to force switches with its powerful attacks and coverage.

You could also mention Substitute and status attack users as a possible checks and counters section as Kecleon usually relies on Sucker Punch to get around faster threats, giving you a free turn to set up a Substitute or boost and just go to town, or just burn it (using Fire Blast to turn into a Fire-type doesn't remove the burn).

QC 3/3 unless anyone else has any comments.

Pokemon with access to speed control option are also viable partners, as they are able to mitigate Kecleon's horrendous Speed stat, allowing Kecleon to fair fare much better against offensive teams, albeit only for a few turns. Slow Baton Pass and VoltTurn users are also great options to get Kecleon into battle, as they can bring Kecleon in after the opponent attacks so that Kecleon does not take damage; [comma -> semicolon] some Pokemon that can do this well are Pelipper and Lanturn. Hazard-stacking [fix] cores such as Garbodor + Steelix make for excellent partners because of the extra damage accumulated by the entry hazards they set, helping Kecleon assure kos KOs on certain targets such as Vileplume and Steelix. Omastar also makes for a great partner by having, as it has access to three entry hazards, as well as checking common threats to Kecleon, such as Archeops, Kangaskhan, physical Charizard, [ac] and Tauros. Mesprit and Audino are able to significantly slow down threats significantly with Thunder Wave, and the former is able to support Kecleon with Healing Wish, should Kecleon acquire too much Life Orb [fix] recoil, orand Stealth Rock [fix] to nab the KOs [you can only KO them once] on Vileplume, Steelix, and Swellow after Stealth Rocks damage.

An Assault Vest + and Power-Up Punch [fix] set with Knock Off, Sucker Punch, [ac] and Drain Punch is able to turn Kecleon into a bulky sweeper; this set also provides a good pivot into the likes of Magmortar and Charizard, [AC] but most physically defensive Pokemon are able to handle this set with relative ease, such as like Garbodor. Another possible set would be a Life Orb set with Fake Out, Drain Punch, Shadow Sneak, and Sucker Punch, [ac] which is annoying against difficult for offensive teams to deal with,. However, but physically bulky Pokemon , such as Vileplume and Pelipper can wall Kecleon; like Vileplume, Pelipper, and even Steelix and Rhydon can wall it despite Drain Punch being super effective. A Facade set is able to abuse utilize to Kecleon's advantage burn and paralysis, both of which are commonly applied to inflicted upon Kecleon, in order to give it a base 140 power STAB 140-Base Power attack; [rsc] that is able to dent many Pokemon. Substitute can be used when threatening something to deal with faster threats and status easier Kecleon's priority has the ability to threaten a variety of Pokemon out, allowing it to use Substitute on predicted switches. This allows it to avoid being revenge killed easily and can help prevent it from being hit with status. [reworded this with help from NU room, and room-staff agree with change] Kecleon has a colorful movepoll movepool but the coverage isn't usually worth it, since it doesn't provide much more than the main set. Thunder Punch and Rock Slide are the two most notable ones though, being able to hit Pelipper and Charizard, respectively. Kecleon also has a decent support movepoll movepool with moves like Recover and Magic Coat, although Kecleon's low Speed [fix] and type changing can be easily [ac] exploited when not attacking, exposing it to Fighting- [AH] and Dark-type coverage specifically.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Physical Attackers**: Physical Pokemon like such as Tauros, Hitmonchan, Malamar, and Zangoose can outspeed Kecleon and are able to strike in take advantage of Kecleon's flawed Defense stat. Kecleon is also scared of faster priority moves through the means of moves like Sucker Punch, Ice Shard, and Fake Out, which can be seen on Pokemon on a multitude of Pokemon like, such as Skuntank, Kangaskhan, and Abomasnow. Hitmonchan, Skuntank, Shiftry, and physical Combusken have an easier time against Kecleon, [AC] as they do not fear Sucker Punch.

**Mixed Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Hariyama, Musharna, Mantine, [AC] and Pelipper, [RC] are all able to pivot in on Kecleon and force it to take Life Orb damage, while they proceed to OHKO it, or heal up and then kill KO Kecleon due to their good natural bulk [reworded this with help from NU room, although they disagree with some of the points mentioned here!]. Musharna is able to abuse Knock Off-less take advantage of Kecleon that lack Knock Off Kecleon to by freely setting up calm minds Calm Mind, and shrugging off the damage it takes with Moonlight, while Barrier variants are also able to beat Kecleon one-on-one 1v1. Mantine and Pelipper are able to come in on anything but Knock Off, and they can scare out Kecleon with the prospect of Scald [fix] burns, halving it's its Attack [fix], and wearing it down extremely quickly. Bulky Charizard only fears the unoccasional Rock Slide and can Roost off [fix] damage from all of from Kecleon's attacks and can pursue proceed to burn it with Will-O-Wisp [fix] or attack with a fast Acrobatics.

[Overview]

Kecleon holds(add) its place in the NU tier as a reliable wallbreaker thanks to its spectacular coverage and movepool, along with its ability, Protean. These traits allow it to break past many common Normal-type checks, making Kecleon a great addition to Normal spam archetypes. Kecleon also sports the fourth strongest Sucker Punch in NU, which helps to mitigate mitigate its abysmal Speed. However, Kecleon's abysmal Speed makes requires it to invest heavily in the stat simply to outspeed walls and forces it to rely on an only partially invested Sucker Punch to damage anything faster, making it nearly useless against faster teams. Kecleon also has subpar bulk, which makes opportunities to switch Kecleon in extremely rare, as even moderately powerful neutral special attacks will leave a dent in it.

Moves
========

Fire Blast is Kecleon's strongest coverage move, allowing it to OHKO many defensive Pokemon, such as Steelix, Gourgeist, and Vileplume after Stealth Rock damage,(AC) and 2HKO bulky Poison-types [fix] like Garbodor and Weezing. Sucker Punch is a very strong priority move that aids Kecleon in deterring faster, frailer Pokemon that might attempt to revenge kill Kecleon. Iron Tail is a strong coverage move that allows Kecleon to break past Mega Audino, making Kecle(add)on one of the best offensive checks to it. Grass Knot allows [fix] Kecleon to beat Quagsire, Regirock, and Rhydon and also ensures that Omastar and Barbarcle are not able to set up on Kecleon.

Set Details
========

116 Speed EVs allow Kecleon to outspeed Gourgeist-XL and not get burned by Will-O-Wisp. 200 EVs in Special Attack with a Life Orb is enough to let Kecleon OHKO some switch-ins, such as Gourgeist-XL, Steelix [fix], and Vileplume (earlier you mentioned after stealth rock damage, might be worth mentioning here as well). The remaining 192 EVs are dumped into Attack, powering up physical moves immensely and allowing Sucker Punch to have a 75% chance to OHKO Swellow after Stealth Rock damage, as well as a good chance to 2HKO Mega Audino with Iron Tail.

Usage Tips
========

Kecleon is decently powerful, allowing it able to easily break down defensive cores. Kecleon can utilize Protean's ability to effectively create mind games, such as using Dark-type attacks on Psychic-type Pokemon in order to evade their STAB moves and clicking Fire Blast on Gourgeist-XL to avoid being burnt by Will-O-Wisp.(space)Kecleon's physical frailty means that it should only be switched in on weaker special attacks, pivoted in via a slow VoltTurn, or brought in on a double switch. Kecleon's reliance on priority to hit anything faster means fast status users,(AC) such as Rotom and Mismagius, are able to avoid Sucker Punch and cripple Kecleon with Will-O-Wisp.

Mesprit and Audino are able to significantly slow down threats with Thunder Wave, and the former is able to support Kecleon with Healing Wish, should Kecleon acquire too much Life Orb [fix] recoil, and Stealth Rock to so Kecleon can nab the KO on Vileplume, Steelix, and Swellow after Stealth Rocks(remove) damage.
