Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Toxic

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Substitute

Water has a huge weakness to Mega Venusaur with barely any answers to it. Regular Gyarados offers strong STAB in bounce which easily 2HKOs while Dragon Dance helps it increase its damage output.

252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gyarados: 129-153 (38.9 - 46.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Gyarados Bounce vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 248-294 (68.3 - 80.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252+ Atk Gyarados Bounce vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 372-440 (102.4 - 121.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Electric Check

Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Electric has a huge weakness to mega venu, which gets to click giga drain and sludge bomb on everything while synthesising its hp back. This Magnezone spread effectively outspeeds venu and 2hko's it with flash cannon, while it lives an hp fire after rocks.

252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Magnezone: 150-178 (53.3 - 63.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

252+ SpA Choice Specs Magnezone Flash Cannon vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Mega Venusaur: 184-217 (50.6 - 59.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mega Pidgeot outspeeds and OHKOs Mega Venusaur most of the time with Hurricane and lives any hit it sends back.
252+ SpA Mega Pidgeot Hurricane vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Mega Venusaur: 344-408 (94.7 - 112.3%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Sludge Bomb vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Mega Pidgeot: 186-220 (60.3 - 71.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

In your calc it says 148 hp mega venu, when it's actually supposed to be 248 hp.

Water Check

Swanna @ Choice Scarf/Life Orb
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hurricane/Air Slash
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Mirror Move/Roost

252+ SpA Swanna Hurricane vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Mega Venusaur: 254-302 (69.9 - 83.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Swanna Hurricane vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Mega Venusaur: 330-393 (90.9 - 108.2%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Swanna: 186-220 (63.9 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Pretty much the Special Gyarados. It's a nice replacement for Keldeo if you, like me, used to lose to Venusaur xD

Poison Counter

Crobat @ Black Sludge/Rocky Helmet/Life Orb
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: (4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe) or (252 HP / 84 Def / 172 speed) or whatever
Adamant or Jolly or Impish Nature
- Acrobatics / Brave Bird
- Roost
- Taunt / Defog
- Toxic / U-turn / Poison Fang

The reason my sample set is all over the place is because literally every crobat set will counter Mega-Venusaur, so long as it has roost and flying STAB.

Week 10 - Mega-Venusaur (Grass)
Types : Any Type Except Fire, Flying, Psychic and Dragon !

Err, why is Dragon barred from submissions when Bug, Steel and Poison are far worse matchups? I mean, Dragon is actually a neutral matchup for the type, I don't think there would be any problems on allowing it (Yeah you could have stuff like Kyurem-Black and Latios as classic checks for it, but I don't think that's much of an issue though)

Steel: Heatran is instant counter for the set you mentioned, needless to say.
Bug: Venusaur somewhat struggles vs Volcarona thanks to its ability to set Quiver Dance and Pinsir destroys it. (Bug teams are a big threat most of the time)
Poison: This can be somewhat difficult for Grass with the lack of proper pokemon and sets. Pretty much nearly everything resists Giga Drain + Sludge Bomb combo, which's kinda redundant having it allowed for this challenge as well.

I'll explain how i choose the types : Consider there's 2 kind of pokemons here : Defensive (Walls, Support and Stallers) and Offensive (Choiced, Sweepers and Setup Sweepers). For Offensive mons i allow the types which are Weak (which have a bad matchup) against the pokemon (not the type), and for defensive i choose the types which struggle (so which has a neutral/bad matchup) to pass the pokemon in 1v1. In this case, Mega-Venusaur is more a Wall than a Sweeper, even if it's offensive set.

• Steel : So, if a type has a instant counter i can't allow it ? Only few Steel pokemons can won the 1v1 vs M-Venu (Magnezone Specs, Jirachi, Metagross AV and Heatran) so i think i can allow this.

• Bug : My bad, i remove it.

• Poison : Same thing as steel, the difference is many Poison pokemons wall M-Venu, but they can't all won the 1v1 (only Gengar, Drascore SD, Dragalge and Crobat/Golbat).

• Dragon : Like almost played pokemons won the 1v1 (only garchomp can't), so it's not allowed.

Also, i'm allowing types like Poison for this one (which has a good matchup) to make the project and submiting a bit easier. But if i'm wrong don't doubt to tell me (in that case PM'ing is better because of flooding).

Curse Mega Aggron

Aggron @ Aggronite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 120 Def / 140 SpD
Careful Nature
- Heavy Slam / Iron Head
- Rest
- Curse
- Sleep Talk / Fire Punch

Mega Aggron takes nothing from Mega Venusaur's two STABs and avoids the 3HKO from HP Fire, so it can just start setting up Curse in front of Mega Venusaur freely. It just needs to be at +3 to 2HKO Mega Venusaur if you choose Heavy Slam, but just +2 if you use Iron Head. With 252 HP, 140 SpD is the minimum needed to avoid a 3HKO from HP Fire, but you could always add more into Special Defense if need be.

Calcs:
252+ SpA Mega Venusaur Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 140+ SpD Filter Mega Aggron: 96-114 (27.9 - 33.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
+2 0 Atk Mega Aggron Iron Head vs. 232 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 193-228 (53.7 - 63.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+3 0 Atk Mega Aggron Heavy Slam (60 BP) vs. 232 HP / 0 Def Mega Venusaur: 181-214 (50.4 - 59.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
