The RMT Tournament
Approved by me

In this awesome tournament, participants will fight for honor and victory in a standard Best of Three Single Elimination tournament. Unlike any other tournaments out there, this is one where the participants need not build any teams for it, instead, a set of teams will be provided from the RMT Archive/Team Showcase/RMT of the Week threads for every round. All participants will only be allowed to use the teams listed in each round to fight. Any changes to the teams are not allowed. Standard activity and scheduling rules apply. It is advised to save the replays for all the games you've played to ensure that neither party brought teams that aren't allowed. Any form of cheating will result in disqualification!
This tournament will not only be a contest of ORAS OU, but also other various tiers such as UU, RU and NU. The tier of the round will be decided by myself.
  • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
  • Evasion Clause: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Team Preview: Players must turn on the Team Preview feature where players can view the opposing team's Pokémon and choose their lead Pokémon.
  • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play. Check here for more informations.
  • Baton Pass Clause: Check this thread.
  • Uber clause: Players may not use any items, moves, abilities, or Pokemon that appear on Smogon's OU Ban List. If the tiers change or new items, abilities, moves, or Pokemon become available in the middle of a round, the changes will take effect in the following round. There will be an announcement in the relevant round if this occurs. However, in this tournament, any team provided that may contain a banned Pokemon is now allowed.

Again to reiterate: Standard activity and scheduling rules apply. It is advised to save the replays for all the games you've played to ensure that neither party brought teams that aren't allowed.

Deadline is one week from tonight (midnight Aug 1 EST)! Good luck and have fun all!

should we play in ubers then? since it has the same rules as OU like sleep clause etc. If we want to use a team with a banned mon that is.

yeah cause when you just use stall you dont need a brain

252 SpA Gengar Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Breloom: 198-233 (75.8 - 89.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Koiro could've been a better sport about his wins instead of the "easy win" remarks he threw out considering they were really nothing special but you did pick two teams that were rather older than the other ones and didnt take into account some of the newer archetype builds when choosing two teams that has a lot of issues in todays metagame. Barring the fact that kek123 vs Fiend ended with a clefable critted in g3 I don't think it's fair to say "you don't need a brain" to use stall seeing as kek did alright against that build, which isnt even stall and I don't know how you came to the assumption that's a stall team. You had a pretty good chance in g2 to win, g1 you just had a bad matchup. The RNG that actually made a difference, barely by the way from watching these matches, could've been prevented by playing better. Food for thought moving forward cause I remember being in one of these awhile back and winning comes with knowing what teams you should bring and ones that are gonna be more risky than others.
