[OVERVIEW]

Crustle has access to Shell Smash, making it a solid Pokemon in the PU metagame by transforming it into a threatening sweeper. Crustle also has access to Sturdy, Stealth Rock, and Spikes, making it a solid hazard-stacking leads in the tier. In addition, it has a strong offensive presence with its access to the EdgeQuake combination, which makes Crustle hard to check because the two moves hit almost all of the tier neutrally, especially when combined with X-Scissor. However, Crustle's typing gives it weaknesses to common types such as Water and Rock while only granting it resistances to Normal- and Poison-type moves. As a result, Crustle has trouble with many threats in the PU metagame, and its weakness to Stealth Rock limits the number of times that Crustle can switch in. Despite Crustle having decent defenses, its poor defensive typing along with its lack of a form of recovery hinder its defensive capabilities. Crustle is also very slow for a sweeper, being outsped by Choice Scarf users such as Simipour and Rotom-F and fast Pokemon like Electrode and Ninjask, even at +2. As a suicide lead, Crustle faces competition from other leads in the tier such as Smeargle, Golem, and Rampardos. However, Golem and Rampardos do not have access to Spikes, and Smeargle has little to no offensive presence nor can utilise Custap Berry, giving Crustle a notable niche over all of them in the PU metagame.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock is a solid way of weakening foes upon switching in, and thanks to Sturdy, Crustle is able to set it reliably. Spikes is another form of entry hazard that can deal more damage to Steel-types and can be used in tandem with Stealth Rock. Stone Edge is a strong STAB move that allows Crustle to take on common hazard removers such as Vullaby and Cryogonal. Knock Off is a powerful move that is able to weaken checks to Crustle and other wallbreakers by getting rid of items like Eviolite and Leftovers. Earthquake is able to hit Steel-types like Mawile and Probopass for super effective damage; otherwise, Crustle wouldn't be able to touch them. Finally, X-Scissor can be used to hit Grass-types like Tangela, Quilladin, and Leafeon for extra damage. Otherwise, those Pokemon would be able to easily KO or set up on Crustle.

Set Details
========

Maximum EVs in Speed ensure that the most entry hazards possible are set by outspeeding opposing Pokemon like Probopass, Relicanth, and Roselia. Maximum EVs in Attack let Crustle keep offensive pressure and deal damage to hazard removers like Vullaby and Swanna. A Jolly nature is used in order to outspeed maximum Speed Adamant Golem. The combination of Sturdy and Custap Berry allows Crustle to get up two entry hazards almost all of the time, if need be. If you do not need more entry hazards, Custap Berry can also allow Crustle to deal a lot of damage to the foe with Stone Edge or Knock Off before it faints.

Usage Tips
========

You can use Crustle as a lead, as Stealth Rock and Spikes are more effective when they are set early. Look at your opponent's team before you choose to either set entry hazards (and decide which ones to set) or get off damage on opposing Pokemon instead. For example, if they have three Flying-type Pokemon on their team, it is vital to get up Stealth Rock, but Spikes are unnecessary. If you are facing offense, you may not need to get up Spikes because they usually would not get any crucial KOs that would not be gotten from just Stealth Rock. If the opposing lead is a Golem, it might be better to break Golem's Sturdy rather than set a second hazard. Look out for priority users such as Floatzel and Monferno, as they outprioritize Custap Berry's activation.

Team Options
========

This Crustle set works best as a suicide lead on hyper offense, as entry hazards can weaken the walls that are typical of balance teams and allow your Pokemon to sweep. Sweepers and wallbreakers like Stoutland, Mawile, and Ninetales appreciate the hazards that Crustle sets. In addition, sweepers like Monferno that appreciate weakening of Flying-types enjoy Crustle's Stealth Rock support, making them great partners. Spinblockers such as Misdreavus and Dusknoir work well with Crustle, as they can sometimes prevent the hazards that Crustle sets from being removed. Pawniard and Purugly are also great partners for Crustle, as their ability, Defiant, punishes opposing Defog users.

Moves
========

Shell Smash doubles Crustle's Attack and Speed, turning it into a very threatening late-game sweeper. Stone Edge, being Crustle's strongest STAB move, deals a lot of damage to anything that doesn't resist it. Earthquake is a solid coverage move that allows Crustle to hit Steel-types such as Pawniard and KO Pokemon such as Stunfisk and Golem after a Shell Smash boost. X-Scissor gains STAB and hits Pokemon such as Tangela that can shrug off Stone Edge and Earthquake after a Shell Smash boost.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment along with an Adamant nature is used to make Crustle as powerful as possible, while maximum Speed investment allows Crustle to outspeed Pokemon such as Jumpluff after a Shell Smash boost along with uninvested slower Pokemon like Politoed, Seaking, and Vullaby before a boost. White Herb offsets the Defense and Special Defense drops Crustle suffers from Shell Smash, letting it possibly take a hit from a Choice Scarf user, and allowing it to more comfortably set up on slower Pokemon. Sturdy allows Crustle to take any one hit at full health, giving it an opportunity to set up Shell Smash.

Usage Tips
========

Crustle should be saved for mid- or late-game when its checks, including faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Rotom-F and bulkier Pokemon like Gourgeist-XL, have been removed. At this point, it can set up Shell Smash and sweep an opposing team. However, it can also wallbreak early-game. Crustle can be used to check Pokemon such as Stoutland and Ursaring, even taking advantage of them to set up Shell Smash. However, it does not appreciate Superpower or Close Combat and is not a great switch-in for these Normal-types unless you plan on setting up Shell Smash and sweeping right after. Take advantage of more passive Pokemon, such as Torkoal, defensive Altaria, and Quilladin without Roar, to set up Shell Smash. However, as long as Crustle maintains Sturdy, it can set up on any Pokemon that it can outspeed and OHKO after a boost. Examples of Pokemon that fit into this category are Choice Band Dodrio, Simisear, and Stoutland. Be wary of opposing Choice Scarf users, as even after a Shell Smash boost, Crustle is outsped by Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Rotom-F and Choice Scarf Simipour. Fast Pokemon like Ninjask and Electrode can also outspeed it after a boost. Priority moves like Floatzel's Aqua Jet and Monferno's Mach Punch can easily pick off Crustle as well.

Team Options
========

Crustle appreciates wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Cacturne that can break down Pokemon such as Gourgeist-XL and Stunfisk, making it easier for Crustle to sweep. Pokemon such as Roselia and Stunfisk that can use entry hazards make for good partners for Crustle, as hazards are able to weaken checks to Crustle as they switch in. Bulky Grass-types such as Quilladin and Gourgeist-XL are able to take on Water-types such as Floatzel and Ground-types such as Golem, which Crustle struggles with. Memento from Pokemon such as Jumpluff can be helpful to grant easier setup opportunities for Crustle. In order to set up reliably, it is important for Crustle to maintain its Sturdy. As a result, hazard removers like Prinplup, Swanna, and Cryogonal help Crustle by letting it not have to switch into Stealth Rock or Spikes and keep its Sturdy.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge in order to gain accuracy, but in general, the loss of power is not appreciated. Toxic can be used to cripple Pokemon that commonly switch into Crustle, but extra coverage is usually better. A Jolly nature can be run on Shell Smash sets in order to outspeed Electrode after a boost, but generally Crustle appreciates the power that an Adamant nature provides. Endure can be used on the Crustap set in order to get up extra entry hazards against Pokemon that barely 2HKO it such as Rapidash, which would usually result in Crustle only getting up one hazard. However, this costs Crustle a moveslot that it can use for coverage, which is generally better. Defensive Crustle sets can be used, but they are almost always outclassed by other walls in the tier such as specially defensive Golem and physically defensive Relicanth.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Pokemon such as Tangela, Quilladin, and Gourgeist-XL can take both Stone Edge and Earthquake from Crustle and put it to sleep or burn it in response. However, Tangela and Quilladin do not appreciate their items being Knocked Off, and they both should watch out for X-Scissor.

**Strong Special Attackers**: Due to Crustle's mediocre Special Defense, strong special attackers like Floatzel and Kadabra can OHKO or 2HKO Crustle with their respective attacks. However, these Pokemon tend to not be as bulky and cannot usually switch into Crustle.

**Faster Pokemon**: Even with maximum Speed EVs, Crustle is slower than most of the metagame and is even outsped by some Pokemon after a Shell Smash boost, like Choice Scarf Rotom-F and Ninjask. These Pokemon can then OHKO or 2HKO Crustle and prevent it from setting up too many entry hazards. However, they cannot switch into Crustle.

**Priority Users**: After Crustle has been weakened, priority users such as Floatzel, Monferno, and Dusknoir can come in and KO it with their priority moves before Crustle can KO them.

move 4: Knock Off / Stone Edge

OO should be in bullet point form as well. also, i'd probably mention stealth rock in the overview b/c it limits how many times crustle can switch in and that hinders its ability to set up shell smash.

anty edit: it doesnt really matter that oo isnt in bp form btw, dw

  • Crustle's typing makes it weak to Stealth Rock, limiting the number of times it can switch in and set up hazards or set up a Shell Smash.
  • Despite Crustle having decent defenses, its weaknesses to common types and lack of many resistances along with it lacking a form of recovery hinder its effectiveness as a wall.
  • Crustle is also very slow for a sweeper, being outsped by Choice Scarf users such as Simipour and Rotom-F, even at +2. also electrode (max modest is 1 point faster) and ninjask

  • Maximum Attack investment along with an Adamant nature is used to make Crustle as powerful as possible, while maximum Speed investment allows Crustle to outspeed Pokemon such as Jumpluff after a Shell Smash while also equaling Pokemon such as Golem's Speed. speed tying with something isn't as important as, say, beating out uninvested politoad or seaking or vullaby
  • White Herb offsets the Defense and Special Defense drops Crustle suffers from Shell Smash. to potentially take a hit from scarf simisage or something
  • Sturdy allows Crustle to take any one hit at full health, giving it an opportunity to set up a Shell Smash.
Usage Tips
========
  • Crustle should be saved for mid- to late-game when its checks are removed like who to set up a Shell Smash and sweep an opposing team, however Crustle can also wallbreak early-game.
  • Crustle can also be used to check Pokemon such as Stoutland and Ursaring, even taking advantage of them to set up a Shell Smash. However, Crustle does not appreciate Superpower and Close Combat, respectively. i mean it's not a great switch unless you don't plan to sweep with smash, just make that more clear
  • Take advantage of more passive Pokemon, such as Audino, to set up a Shell Smash. Passive Pokemon give Crustle an opportunity to set up a Shell Smash without them doing much damage back to Crustle. like who, this isn't really useful unless it's clear what crustle can set up on, which is quite a bit if there's no SR so it shouldn't be limited to just passive pokemon
  • Be wary of opposing Choice Scarf users, as even after a Shell Smash, Crustle is outspeed by Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Rotom-F and Choice Scarf Simipour.
  • Crustle can also be used to pressure common Rapid Spinners and Defoggers such as Cryogonal and Vullaby with its strong Rock-type STAB move in order to keep hazards on the field.

this set is definitely not right, at the very least smash or edge is ridiculous and I'd like to see eq somewhere but since nobody's around right now just implement this check and then we can go back and fix this set. I'm thinking rocks/spikes/stone edge/smash or eq or knock but also don't have enough experience with crustle to outright say that

  • Spikes is another form of entry hazard that can deal more damage to Steel-types that Crustle can use alongside Stealth Rock.
  • Shell Smash doubles Crustle's Speed and Attack, making it an offensive threat, and allowing it to outspeed Pokemon such as Jumpluff and deal much more damage to Defoggers such as Vullaby. It's more for having some extra power rather than just getting removed and set up on so you keep up consistent offensive pressure
  • Knock Off is a powerful move that is able to weaken checks to Crustle by getting rid of items like Eviolite and Leftovers. and cripple random things
  • Meanwhile, Stone Edge is a strong STAB move that allows Crustle to take on common hazard removers such as Vullaby and Cryogonal.
Set Details
========

  • Maximum EVs in Speed ensure the most entry hazards possible are set. by outspeeding foes like something
  • Maximum EVs in Attack and an Adamant nature let Crustle more effectively wallbreak with Shell Smash and Stone Edge. keep offensive pressure and deal damage to hazard removers
  • The combination of Sturdy and Custap Berry allow Crustle to get up two entry hazards almost all of the time, if need be. This is because if Crustle would be KOed, Sturdy allows it to survive at least one attack from full health, and then Custap Berry gives Golem another move due to priority.
  • If you do not need more entry hazards, Custap Berry can also allow Crustle to deal a lot of damage to the opponent using Stone Edge before it dies.

Usage Tips
========
  • You can use Crustle as a lead, as Stealth Rock and Spikes are more effective when they are set early. This is because when set early, Stealth Rock and Spikes hit more Pokemon as they switch in.
  • However, remember that Crustle does not always have to be your lead. You can always get up hazards later. Later in the game, with the help of Shell Smash, Crustle may be able to wallbreak or sweep. eh unlike things like golem this really wants to set up early, emphasize that spikes will be wanted in a lot of matchups so don't wait forever
  • Look at your opponent's team before you choose which entry hazards to set. For example, if they have three Flying-type levitating Pokemon on their team, it is vital to get up Stealth Rock, but Spikes are unnecessary. maybe give a more useful example like when spikes wouldnt be so necessary because it's offense and they don't nab any crucial KOs
  • Remember that you do not need to sacrifice Crustle as soon as it gets entry hazards up. Shell Smash allows Crustle to wall break and become an offensive threat, so use this to your advantage.
  • Look out for fast all priority beats custap priority users such as Floatzel and Monferno, as their priority goes before the Custap Berry.

Team Options
========
  • Sweepers and wallbreakers like Stoutland, Mawile and Ninetales appreciate the hazards which Crustle sets. As a result, this set fits well on offense, as offensive teams tend to have more of these wallbreakers.
  • Bulky Grass-types such as Gourgeist-XL and Tangela help Crustle set up hazards by weakening Water- and Ground-types, which are able to KO Crustle with their respective STABs. this isn't necessary at all for hazard lead and clashes with the point above about fitting on offensive teams
  • Crustle switching into hazards breaks its Sturdy and likely results in it not eating its Custap Berry. Using Crustle as a suicide lead or pairing it with hazard removers such as Cryogonal may help remedy this issue. also not a fan of this point, you should be going for hazards as early as possible
  • Sweepers that appreciate the removal of Fire-types, such as Mawile and Ninetales, enjoy Crustle's ability to set up Stealth Rock which wear Fire-types down. you already mentioned these mons so this point is also kind of worthless
  • Also, sweepers like Gogoat and Monferno that appreciate removal of Flying-types enjoy Crustle's Stealth Rock support, making them great partners. rocks don't remove flyers, just weaken them, so maybe more like pressuring things like swanna for u-turn monkey. don't use gogoat though, it's not a mon that goes particularly well on spikes HO
  • this doesn't have to be particularly long, just emphasize how it goes on offense with offensive things and maybe add spinblockers as well
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • A Shell Smash Spikes set with a moveset of Shell Smash / Spikes / Knock Off / Stone Edge or Rock Blast with a Custap Berry can be used. However, Crustle appreciates the White Herb and extra coverage while running a Shell Smash sweeper set, and usually sets Stealth Rock when running a Custap Berry set. this is basically lead, just don't mention this
  • Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge in order to gain accuracy, but in general the loss of power is not appreciated.
  • Toxic can be used to cripple Pokemon that commonly switch into Crustle, but the extra coverage is usually better.
  • mention defensive sets, mention jolly smash which beats out electrode, mention sturdy counter, mention endure on custap lead for more certain extra hazard vs things that just barely 2hko. don't be positive about these since they arent great, but they need a mention

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Grass-types**: Pokemon such as Tangela and Gourgeist-XL can take both Stone Edge and Earthquake from Crustle and put it to sleep or burn it in response. However, neither of these Pokemon appreciate their item being Knocked Off, and they should watch out for X-Scissor. you should list a few others/not make it sound like there's only 2 bulky grasses in the meta

**Strong Special Attackers**: Due to Crustle's mediocre Special Defense, strong special attackers like Floatzel and Kadabra can OHKO or 2HKO Crustle with their respective attacks. However, these Pokemon tend to not be as bulky and can not usually switch into Crustle.

**Faster Pokemon**: Even with Max Speed EVs, Crustle is slower than most of the metagame, and is even slower than some Choice Scarf users, such as Rotom-F, after a Shell Smash. These Pokemon can then OHKO or 2HKO Crustle and prevent it from setting up too many hazards.

**Machoke**: Defensive Machoke can shrug off all of Crustle's attacks even after a Shell Smash and weaken it with Dynamic Punch or Knock Off. However, Machoke does not appreciate its Eviolite being Knocked Off itself.
I'm gonna hold off on stamping just so we can get the second set settled, and also might want to add another section to c&c for priority users, I'll reply again as soon as that's worked out

I'm implementing this Megazard! Thank you for looking this over. I have a few questions mainly regarding your comments about the second set (Dundies made the sets but I changed the second one, and I run the second one with X-Scissor over Stone Edge so... it's a little bit weird. There's also a few other things I have questions about so check discord :V

I'll implement the shit that I get :) thanks again

In the Overview, I wouldn't list Monferno as competition as a suicide lead as it hardly runs that set. If anything, replace Monferno with Rampardos as Head Smash can OHKO Crustle. I'd also put Jolly over Adamant on the second set to avoid speed ties with Adamant max Speed Golem. Gourgeist doesn't care about it's item being Knocked Offed normally because it runs Colbur Berry. Looks good otherwise.

I decided to slash Jolly / Adamant because I use Adamant (the power boost is noticable) but it is nice to outspeed max speed adamant golem. I hope this is OK. Implemented. Thanks!

Be more specific, like that it is the only (viable) user of srocks + spikes, etc. Crustle is also very slow for a sweeper, being outsped by Choice Scarf users such as Simipour and Rotom-F and fast Pokemon like Electrode and Ninjask alike, even at +2. As a suicide lead, Crustle faces competition from other leads in the tier such as Rampardos, Golem and Relicanth I wouldnt say reli here, and also mention specifically why crustle could be used over it, ie spikes. Anti-Lead Rampardos can prevent Crustle from setting up any hazards by OHKOing it through Sturdy with Head Smash Not relevant enough to mention in overview.

Knock Off is a powerful move that is able to weaken checks to Crustle and other wallbreakers by getting rid of items like Eviolite and Leftovers. Earthquake is able to hit Steel-types like Mawile, Probopass, and Metang for super-effective damage; otherwise, Crustle wouldn't be able to touch them. It also weakens Fighting-types such as Monferno which Crustle otherwise would not be able to hit for neutral damage. Finally, X-Scissor can be used to hit Grass-types like Tangela, Quilladin, and Leafeon for extra damage. Otherwise, these Pokemon would be able to easily KO or set up on Crustle.

Set Details

Maximum EVs in Speed ensure the most entry hazards possible are set by outspeeding opposing Pokemon like Probopass, Relicanth, and Roselia. Maximum EVs in Attack let Crustle keep offensive pressure and deal damage to hazard removers like Vullaby and Swanna.
A Jolly Nature can be used in order to outspeed Max-Speed Adamant Golem and have KO it with +2 Earthquake after Stealth Rock. However, an Adamant nature gives Crustle a noticable boost in power, still speed ties with Max-Speed Adamant Golem, and guarantees the OHKO Golem with +2 Earthquake after Stealth Rock. The combination of Sturdy and Custap Berry allow Crustle to get up two entry hazards almost all of the time, if need be. This is because if Crustle would be KOed, Sturdy allows it to survive at least one attack from full health, and then Custap Berry gives Golem another move due to priority. If you do not need more entry hazards, Custap Berry can also allow Crustle to deal a lot of damage to the opponent using Stone Edge before it dies.

Usage Tips
========
You can use Crustle as a lead, as Stealth Rock and Spikes are more effective when they are set early. This is because when set early, Stealth Rock and Spikes hit more Pokemon as they switch in. Look at your opponent's team before you choose which entry hazards to set In the second case thats more hazards vs getting off damage, though i think it should be said that vs golem you want to break its sturdy. For example, if they have three Flying-type Pokemon on their team, it is vital to get up Stealth Rock, but Spikes are unnecessary. On the other hand, if you are facing offense, you may not need to get up Spikes because they usually would not get any crucial KOs that would not be gotten by just Stealth Rock. Look out for priority users such as Floatzel and Monferno, as their priority goes before the Custap Berry.

Team Options
========
This Crustle set works best as a suicide lead on hyper offense, as hazards can weaken the walls that are typical of balance teams and allow your Pokemon to sweep. Sweepers and wallbreakers like Stoutland, Mawile and Ninetales appreciate the hazards which Crustle sets. As a result, this set fits well on offense, as offensive teams tend to have more of these wallbreakers. Also, sweepers like Monferno that appreciate weakening of Flying-types enjoy Crustle's Stealth Rock support, making them great partners. Spinblockers such as Misdreavus and Dusknoir work well with Crustle as they can sometimes prevent the hazards that Crustle sets from being removed. Also mention pawniard

Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge in order to gain accuracy, but in general the loss of power is not appreciated. Toxic can be used to cripple Pokemon that commonly switch into Crustle, but the extra coverage is usually better. A Jolly nature can be run on Shell Smash sets in order to outspeed Electrode after a boost, but generally Crustle appreciates the power that an Adamant nature provides. Endure can be used on Crustap in order to get up extra hazards against moves that barely 2HKO such as Monferno's Close Combat, which would usually result in Crustle only getting up one hazard. However, this costs Crustle a moveslot which it can use for coverage, which is generally better. Defensive Crustle sets can be used, but are almost always outclassed by other walls in the tier such as Specially Defensive Golem or Physically Defensive Relicanth.

Checks and Counters
===================

However, these Pokemon tend to not be as bulky and can not usually switch into Crustle.

**Faster Pokemon**: Even with Max Speed EVs, Crustle is slower than most of the metagame, and is even slower than some Pokemon after a Shell Smash, like Choice Scarf Rotom-F or Ninjask. These Pokemon can then OHKO or 2HKO Crustle and prevent it from setting up too many hazards. However, they can not switch into Crustle.

**Priority Users**: After Crustle has been weakened, priority users such as Floatzel, Monferno and Dusknoir can come in and KO Crustle with their priority moves before Crustle can KO them.

Maximum Attack investment along with an Adamant nature is used to make Crustle as powerful as possible, while maximum Speed investment allows Crustle to outspeed Pokemon such as Jumpluff after a Shell Smash along with uninvested slower Pokemon like Politoed, Seaking and Vullaby. Usage Tips
========

Crustle should be saved for mid- to late-game when its checks, including faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Rotom-F and bulkier Pokemon like Gourgeist-XL, are removed. At this point, it can set up a Shell Smash and sweep an opposing team. However, Crustle can also wallbreak early-game. Crustle can also be used to check Pokemon such as Stoutland and Ursaring, even taking advantage of them to set up a Shell Smash. However, Crustle does not appreciate Superpower or Close Combat, and is not a great switch into these Normal-types unless you plan on setting up a Shell Smash and sweeping right then. Take advantage of more passive Pokemon, such as Torkoal, Defensive defensive Altaria, or Quilladin without Roar, to set up a Shell Smash. Passive Pokemon give Crustle an opportunity to set up a Shell Smash without them doing much damage back to Crustle. Also, as long as Crustle maintains Sturdy, it can set up on any Pokemon that it can outspeed and OHKO after a boost. Examples of Pokemon that fit into this category are Choice Band Dodrio, Simisear, and Stoutland. Be wary of opposing Choice Scarf users, as even after a Shell Smash, Crustle is outspeed by Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Rotom-F and Choice Scarf Simipour. Fast Pokemon like Ninjask and Electrode can also outspeed Crustle after a boost. Priority like Floatzel's Aqua Jet or Monferno's Mach Punch can also easily pick off Crustle. Crustle can also be used to pressure common Rapid Spinners and Defoggers such as Cryogonal, Pelipper and Vullaby with its strong Rock-type STAB move in order to keep hazards on the field.

If the opposing Pokemon is a Golem, it might be better to break Golem's Sturdy rather than set a hazard. Look out for priority users such as Floatzel and Monferno, as their priority goes before the Custap Berry activates.

This Crustle set works best as a suicide lead on hyper offense, as hazards can weaken the walls that are typical of balance teams and allow your Pokemon to sweep. Sweepers and wallbreakers like Stoutland, Mawile and Ninetales appreciate the hazards that Crustle sets. In addition, sweepers like Monferno that appreciate weakening of Flying-types enjoy Crustle's Stealth Rock support, making them great partners. Spinblockers such as Misdreavus and Dusknoir work well with Crustle as they can sometimes prevent the hazards that Crustle sets from being removed. Pawniard is another great partner for Crustle, as its ability, Defiant, punishes opposing Defog users.

Shell Smash doubles Crustle's Attack and Speed, turning it into a very threatening sweeper late-game. Stone Edge, being Crustle's strongest STAB move, deals a lot of damage to anything that doesn't resist it. Earthquake is a solid coverage move that allows Crustle to hit Steel-types such as Pawniard and KO Pokemon such as Stunfisk and Golem after a Shell Smash. X-Scissor gains STAB and hits Pokemon such as Tangela that can shrug off Stone Edge and Earthquake after a Shell Smash.

Set Details

Maximum Attack investment along with an Adamant nature is used to make Crustle as powerful as possible, while maximum Speed investment allows Crustle to outspeed Pokemon such as Jumpluff after a using Shell Smash along with uninvested slower Pokemon like Politoed, Seaking and Vullaby. White Herb offsets removes the Defense and Special Defense drops Crustle suffers from Shell Smash, letting it take hits from Pokemon like Choice Scarf Simisage even after a boost. Sturdy allows Crustle to take any one hit at full health, giving it an opportunity to set up a Shell Smash.

Usage Tips
========

Crustle should be saved for mid- to late-game when its checks, including faster Pokemon like Choice Scarf Rotom-F and bulkier Pokemon like Gourgeist-XL, are removed. At this point, it can set up a Shell Smash and sweep an opposing team. However, it can also wallbreak early-game. Crustle can be used to check Pokemon such as Stoutland and Ursaring, even taking advantage of them to set up a Shell Smash. However, it does not appreciate Superpower or Close Combat, and is not a great switch into these Normal-types unless you plan on setting up a Shell Smash and sweeping right then. Take advantage of more passive Pokemon, such as Torkoal, defensive Altaria, or Quilladin without Roar, to set up a Shell Smash. However, as long as Crustle maintains Sturdy, it can set up on any Pokemon that it can outspeed and OHKO after a boost. Examples of Pokemon that fit into this category are Choice Band Dodrio, Simisear, and Stoutland. Be wary of opposing Choice Scarf users, as even after a Shell Smash, Crustle is outspeed by Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Rotom-F and Choice Scarf Simipour. Fast Pokemon like Ninjask and Electrode can also outspeed it after a boost. Priority moves like Floatzel's Aqua Jet or Monferno's Mach Punch can easily pick off Crustle. Finally, it(add space)can be used to pressure common Rapid Spinners and Defoggers such as Cryogonal, Pelipper and Vullaby with its strong Rock-type STAB move in order to keep hazards on the field.

Team Options
========

Crustle appreciates wallbreakers such as Stoutland and Simisage that can break down Pokemon such as Gourgeist-XL and Stunfisk, making it easier for Crustle to sweep. Pokemon such as Roselia and Stunfisk that can use entry hazards make for good partners for Crustle, as they are able to weaken checks to Crustle as they switch in. As a result, hazard removers like Prinplup, Swanna, or Cryogonal help Crustle by letting it not have to switch into Stealth Rock or Spikes and keep its Sturdy.

Other Options
=============

Rock Blast can be used over Stone Edge in order to gain accuracy, but in general the loss of power is not appreciated. Toxic can be used to cripple Pokemon that commonly switch into Crustle, but extra coverage is usually better. A Jolly nature can be run on Shell Smash sets in order to outspeed Electrode after a boost, but generally Crustle appreciates the power that an Adamant nature provides.

===================

However, these Pokemon tend to not be as bulky and can not usually switch into Crustle.

**Faster Pokemon**: Even with maximum Speed EVs, Crustle is slower than most of the Pokemon in the metagame, and is even outsped by some Pokemon after a Shell Smash, like Choice Scarf Rotom-F or Ninjask.

[OVERVIEW]
Crustle has access to Shell Smash, making it a solid Pokemon in the PU metagame by transforming it into a threatening sweeper. Crustle also has access to Sturdy, Stealth Rock, and Spikes, making it one of the only viable hazard stacking hazard-stacking leads in the tier. In addition, it has a strong offensive presence with its access to the EdgeQuake combination, which is hard to check because it hits almost all of the tier neutrally, especially when combined with X-Scissor. However, Crustle's typing gives it weaknesses to common types such as Water and Rock while only gaining resistances to Normal- and Poison-type moves. As a result, Crustle has trouble checking many threats in the PU metagame, and a its weakness to Stealth Rock limits the number of times that Crustle can switch in. Despite Crustle having decent defenses, its poor defensive typing along with it lacking its lack of a form of recovery hinder its effectiveness as a wall. However, Golem and Rampardos do not have access to Spikes, and Smeargle has little to no offensive presence, giving Crustle a niche over all of them in the PU metagame.

Moves
========

Stealth Rock is a solid way of weakening opponents upon switching in, and thanks to Sturdy, Crustle is able to use them set it reliably. Spikes is another form of entry hazard that can deal more damage to Steel-types that Crustle can use and can be used in tandem with Stealth Rock. Stone Edge is a strong STAB move that allows Crustle to take on common hazard removers such as Vullaby and Cryogonal. Knock Off is a powerful move that is able to weaken checks to Crustle and other wallbreakers by getting rid of items like Eviolite and Leftovers. Earthquake is able to hit Steel-types like Mawile and Probopass for super-effective super effective damage; otherwise, Crustle wouldn't be able to touch them. Finally, X-Scissor can be used to hit Grass-types like Tangela, Quilladin, and Leafeon for extra damage. Otherwise, those Pokemon would be able to easily KO or set up on Crustle.

A Jolly Nature is used in order to outspeed max-(The hyphen isn't really needed here)Speed maximum Speed Adamant Golem and KO it with +2 Earthquake after Stealth Rock. (this set doesn't have EQ as a slash and it certainly makes no mention of Shell Smash, even in OO...maybe you meant to put this in Shell Smash's Set Details? Or maybe it's meant to be a 2HKO at +0?) The combination of Sturdy and Custap Berry allows Crustle to get up two entry hazards almost all of the time, if need be. If you do not need more entry hazards, Custap Berry can also allow Crustle to deal a lot of damage to the opponent using with Stone Edge before it faints.

(if you wanna use "On the other hand", it makes a lot more sense to put with this following sentence) If the opposing Pokemon is a Golem, it might be better to break Golem's Sturdy rather than set a hazard.
