Welcome one and all to the AOT, round 5! Today's battle between Frosty and Texas will be hosted by me, Liz! Probably the biggest gig I've gotten yet, wow-- I mean, uh, enough about me, lets see our battler's teams!

Frosty brought with him Banette, Sableye, Azumarill, and a Deoxys! Wow, he's got big guns on his side, and an interesting choice with Banette. Ghosts are very powerful, I'm sure we know, but I didn't expect that one!

Texas brought with him a Haxorus, Kitsunoh, Colossoil, and Gardevoir. Very solid, well rounded team that can take on a myriad of opponents. It's gonna be tough to beat.

Lets flip to see who gets to go first...

Ping!
(Heads is Frosty.)

For a while now I've been on a bit of a roll as far as playing well and getting results. I intend for that to continue all the way through to victory in this tournament. I don't think I've ever beaten you in a serious match before, though i don't think we've played many in a singles/doubles format either. I know this match will push me to the limits of my abilities and should hopefully go done as one of the best either of us has ever had.

Let's do this.

Kitsunoh @ Enigma Berry

Knock Off ~ Shadowstrike ~ Phantom Force
If Self-Switching move, on the first instance use U-Turn that action and push back
If Protective/Evasive move and you are not Taunted and non-consecutive then on the first instance use Imprison (Protect, Knock Off, Dig) and use Earthquake on any future instances
If Entry Hazard move and you are not Taunted, Magic Coat that action and push back

Outside of pikes, we indeed never battled each other in singles.

Should be interesting. In this particular matchup not as much, but eh.

A1

Enigma Berry heals Deoxys! +10 HP

Enigma Berry is blasted away!

Deoxys uses Trick!
Kitsunoh's Enigma Berry is stolen!

A2

Kitsunoh uses Shadow Strike! (No crit or debuff)
CRIT: NO (3267>625)

RECOIL: 4.5 DMG
Enigma Berry heals Deoxys! +10 HP
-13 EN

Enigma Berry is fully consumed.

Deoxys: -11 HP, -23 EN
Kitsunoh: -5 HP, -29 EN

Deoxys doesn't like the look the Kitsunoh is giving it, so it takes a preemptive bite of its Berry before it's knocked away. It then sneaks over and steals the Kitsunoh's berry, and uses it to bear the cat's attacks pretty well. The alien then shouts something... that sounds vulgar? Kitsunoh doesn't know what to think of it. In fact, it can't think at all, so no more status moves. Kitsunoh tries to vanish from the battle, but Texas isn't having any of that, so it comes back for an attack. It came back to find a very durable Agahnim. Instead of striking head on, it sneaks in and gives it a kiss! Agahnim is so flustered, it's a critical hit!

... Alright, that last part was a big exaggeration, but the fox-cat-ghost did land a very powerful blow that punctured the increased defenses.

Again: not in a hurry.

Iron Defense - Fire Punch - Knock Off
IF
Damaging-Evasive AND not in a combo AND Deoxys is not to Iron Defense THEN Pursuit and push back
IF Taunt AND in a combo AND this sub wasn't activated on the action prior THEN Protect and push back
[ONCE]IF Deoxys has 70 or less hp AND Kitsunoh is not to Snatch THEN Recover and push back

Fire Punch is disabled!

Deoxys: -7 HP, -17 EN
Kitsunoh: -14 HP, -27 EN

Deoxys refuses to budge, even a bit. It even takes the time to recover its own damaged parts, which is undone immediately by the Kitsunoh's Super Fang. The onslaught is leaving the fox exhausted and panting, and it's too mentally wrung out to recover its own energy. The battle is getting nowhere at this rate, though that seems to be exactly what Frosty is planning...

Cursed body roll on fire punch

Shadow Claw ~ Lick ~ Chill
If Deoxys uses Taunt a3 and it acts first, U-Turn that action instead
If Deoxys has set at least 1 layer of entry hazard and sub 1 has not activated and Deoxys is not under the effects of a P/E move and Deoxys does not use Taunt that action, Defog on a3
If Deoxys has set at least 1 layer of entry hazard and sub 1 has not activated and Deoxys is not under the effects of a P/E move and Deoxys does use Taunt that action, U-Turn on a3

Not a whole lot to sub for in a situation like this

Back in stable mental conditions. Somewhat.

Now to resume our irritating stalling against another pokemon. A shame I can't actually taunt while my opponent is taunt (0a).

Kitsunoh flees!

Deoxys: -17 HP, -7 EN
Kitsunoh: -17 EN

The Kitsunoh grows more and more exhausted as its attacks barely scratch the alien's skin. All the while, Deoxys sits back, casually warps the dimensions as it pleases, and goads the fox into fleeing. Texas is up to send in a new opponent, hopefully one who can leave a dent in this thing!

Wow. Texas' Mega Gardevoir is making even less of a dent than Kitsunoh... The alien is still over half of its health! Color me surprised, that thing refuses to budge even a little bit.

As Deoxys prepares a teleport, Gardevoir does the same, and both shine with psychic power. While Deoxy rebuilds its energy and HP reserves, Gardevoir throws a barrage of fairy attacks, outpacing the Recover that Agahnim performed. Both blip out of the arena, and prepare for an entire new matchup!

I'm not quite sure what Frosty's sub intends when it says speed order (thought my interpretation is if Azumarill would act first by virtue of being slower under Trick Room) so I'll include two action sets contingent on if the second sub activates based on the effect of Float Stone's +1 priority given to Sand Tomb

Sand Tomb ~ Protect ~ Fake Out

OR

Roar+Snarl ~ cool down ~ Fake Out

And the dance continues.

The second sub would not activate on Sand Tomb since it's not in the same priority bracket. I'm assuming you want me to use the first order set, since you never actually labelled which one to use.

Apparently it does activate because priority is ignored for some reason. That's retarded as fuck, but hey. Still using your first orderset Texas, because you didn't tell me which one to use in which circumstance.

/me bops texas on the head

Colossoil: -23 HP, -25 EN

Colossoil comes out with a Float Stone, and Azumarill comes out holding her favorite briny incense. Colossoil leads, thanks to the power of its Float Stone, and traps the bunny in a tomb of swirling sand, causing them to get pelted repeatedly by the coarse sand! Azumarill charges forward with a Dive, and does massive damage, though Colossoil seems unfazed. The blackened whale then goes on the defensive, protecting itself from a Play Rough, and using Fake Out to avoid getting hit again. Now, with the advantage of trapping, Colossoil sits smugly and waits to be returned.

Mega gardevoir returns

Thunderbolt ~ Hyper Voice ~ Moonblast
Once Only, if Whirlpool, Mean Look that action and push back
If Encore, Dodge that action and push back
If Azumarill is in the evasive stage of a damaging evasive move when you act, Trick Room on the first instance, Wish on the second, and Future Sight on the third

Why does Azumarill get Future Sight o.O

5 Rounds in three weeks and approximately no progress. Go us!

Huh? What? Oh, some actual fighting is happening! Lets see it!

... And it begins with an Azumarill hiding underwater, and Gardevoir reversing the trick room effect that covers the battlefield. I was lied to, how could this...

Oh. Gardevoir raises her voice with a Hyper Voice, hurting the Azumarill for a good amount of damage, but the Azumarill is not content with just "good" damage. Oh, it wants more. With a hardening tail that grows brighter and more ominous, he charges forward, and wails on the Gardevoir with the ball of solid steel, sending her flying across the field. That looks like it hurt a LOT. So much so, it seems part of that impact is sticking with her, lowering her Defense. The attack left Azumarill a bit winded, but it still leads with a sizable chunk of HP.

Lets see if this kind of action keeps up!
