Apologies for being way late for this round, had to finish the last few loose ends IRL. I'm really free as all heck now though!

With a solid lead, n1n1 takes Week 60; congrats!

This week, we're going to build around Latios with Hidden Power Ground! Latios, with its high Speed and power, typically functions as a hit-and-run kind of attacker, dropping Dracos to punch holes on teams. However, its two-STAB coverage leaves it walled by Steel-types; while it only really deals tremendous damage on Heatran, Hidden Power Ground lets it handily touch opposing Steel-types much more handily, giving it more flexibility when it comes to playing against them. What kind of teams can this set really fit on?

Deadline of building on Saturday GMT noon!

I'm just tired
Now the aim of a team that wants to use Hidden Power Ground as a successful tech on Latios need to look somewhat weak to Heatran and similar steel types. Too much of a weakness and players start to suspect and might do a little scouting during the game to see if their hunch is right. So I felt when building around something like that on Latios, I'd like to have a couple answers to Heatran already. So the first Pokemon I decided to build with the idea was Mega Diancie as it brings nice options to a Latios team. Bringing good diverse coverage and having resistances that synergies well with each other. The next option I wanted was Intimidate and a Mega Kangaskhan check. Now I could have used Landorus-T but I didn't want to stack too much weaknesses to Pokemon like bulky water types, and it didn't add a lot offensively or defensively to the team. So I decided Scrafty was a good option as it covered resistances the team could use well and gave me strong supportive options in Fake Out and Intimidate. For the fourth team member I decided Amoonguss was strong as it meshes well with Mega Diancie teams adding Spore and Redirection to the table and a handy water type check. Rotom-Wash found its place at number 5 as I wanted speed control, a reliable way to control Azumarill and the water typing helps in match ups against stuff like Landorus-T with its stab hydro pump. Concluding the team's final slot, I decided Entei helped as it gave me a fairy switch in, fire coverage and priority all which the team appreciates.

So the idea was Latios semiroom and I took the 3 atk Latios and paired it with Jirachi for the redirection and surprisingly they don't share as many weaknesses as I expected. Latios + Charizard ended up being a really threatening pair of wallbreakers, Charizard being able to function better under Trick Room and Latios better outside of it. Rhyperior was added as a check to Thundurus and a soft check to Landorus-T. CM sylveon, which acts as the main win-con of the team, really appreciates all of the support the team offers in its many ways to kill steels and the Trick Room support from Jirachi. Keldeo acts as a Kang check and another Fire check while also providing Taunt to improve the matchup vs Full Room and other fatter builds.

Azu works with in general beating fire and fightings

Latios the Heatran Lure

Scrafty to help with ghosts and darks

Mega Diancie for talon and flyings and shit

Lando best mon

Aegislash was the first mon in mind since it is such a great assist and pivot for Latios. Then, I added Landorus-T cause why not. With Rotom-W taking care of remaining offensive coverage, I thought that it was perfectly fine to use Mega Venusaur, another great Spore switch-in and a TR/TW ignorer. And to somewhat check TR/TW, I decided to use Talonflame.

TBH, a very straight forward Team Building Process.

Since u can see them I'll list them instead

Latios
Mega-charazard y
Venusaur
Swampert
Thundurous-I
Bisharp

Description:

Hp ground Latios is basicly used for heatran which shuts down sun plus Venusaur. And Swampert is cool so I added him (also because of wide guard). Thundi adds the speed control and no team is good without a steel and bisharp is good against trick room.

The voting's pretty close, with miltankmilk and FloristtheBudew tied at 4 votes! I'm gonna break that tie with my own vote on the former... thus, miltankmilk takes the week!

This week, we're going to build around:

Its bulk and typing let it match up well with a number of threats in the metagame, but the most notable aspect of it is its ability, Competitive, which lets it take advantage of Intimidate (and the prevalence of Landorus-T) with a boost to its Special Attack. Its access to Recover and Icy Wind make it an annoying threat to face as well.

Deadline of building on Saturday GMT noon!

I've experimented with Mawile a lot recently and I'm really enjoying it. Steel/fairy is a great type for many popular fairy types, Dragons and Kang so I decided to work off of that + Milotic, which deters Landorus from being lead or coming on the field while it is active. Milotic offers speed control also which helps a bunch with a slow mega like Mawile. Next I added shuca tran to help deal with steels which this initial core can struggle with. Shuca helps win Heatran mirrors. Next I added Hydreigon as another way to destroy steels, speed control, a sun check and a general nuke. Thundurus is a 3rd form of speed control and a way to check trick room, set up mons and bulky waters. Amoonguss is added next as an additional kang check and a secondary trick room check.
