VGC 17 Tapu Bulu

Please change all of your "unordered list"s to asterisks, like:

* This is an example point.

I'll try to get around to checking this in the near future. The delay is just because I'd like to strike up a conversation with certain members of QC about this analysis before I do a check.

All done, boss!

Overview
  • There are two points in the first point. Add a line break before the second asterisk.
Set (2)
  • Slash Leftovers.
Team Options (2)
  • Mention Trick Room setters such as Porygon2 being useful to aid Tapu Bulu's middling Speed stat.
Other Options
  • Add Taunt and Snarl.

Part of the reason the second set was suggested as is, is because it eliminates the need for the third set. Remove the third set and try to incorporate any hints specific to SubSeed into the second set.

Post when done and I'll finally give this its first check :toast:

I thought about going slashy, but the set is named bloom doom set, so if I add leftovers, it would seem like a two in one set. Thoughts?

Implemented the rest, btw.

You need to change the set name then. The thing with sets other than, for example, Choice and Assault Vest, is that Tapu Bulu is pretty versatile, and so there's a lot of crossover. One of the things this new set should make clearer is that you can run moves like Leech Seed with Grassium Z. The concern over slashiness is fair, but I think it's just an inevitability with a Pokemon like Tapu Bulu.

Fair Enough. So, should I slash Leftover at grassinium Z, and slash subseed set with bloom doom?

Set (2)
  • Rename the set to something like "Bulky Attacker" or "Versatile Attacker" to avoid the slash.
Set Details (2)
  • Cite that the bulky EVs of 252 HP / 28 Atk / 84 Def / 140 Sp Def / 4 Spe can be used with a more defensively oriented set.

Implemented. Finally! Time for the next QC :3

Mr.GX I didn't notice this before, but the EV spread on the Choice Scarf set is bad. You need at least 148 Speed EVs to outpace Nihilego which you mention in Set Details. I'd bump it up to that at the very least and include mentions of 196 EVs for positive-natured base 110s and 228 EVs for Timid Salazzle.

Combined with Tapu Bulu's bulk, Politoed can disrupt your opponent with Encore, (comma) and can even use Perish Song as a last resort, (comma) due to its low Speed.
* Using a Fire-type Pokemon like Arcanine can benefit Tapu Bulu as well, with its Intimidate support weakening opposing Garchomp and Celesteela, (comma) as well as its STAB moves taking out bulky Steel-types.
* Porygon2 can be used with Tapu Bulu as it serves as a Trick Room setter, which helps Tapu Bulu move quicker faster thanks to its middling Speed stat.
* Since Grassy Terrain weakens Earthquakes, it is now safe to use Magnezone against Garchomp, although Intimidate may be required to make sure Magnezone survives.
* Alolan-(hyphen)Muk and Nihilego can be used as well, as they take advantage of Grassy Terrain to weakening opposing Earthquakes, though the former should be vary wary of Tectonic Rage from opposing Garchomps.
