With a one-vote lead, toxigen734 takes the week! Congrats!

This round, we're building around Victini! With most non-Mega Fire-types under the shadow of Heatran, Victini stands out as having higher Speed and access to nifty moves such as Glaciate, U-turn, Bolt Strike, and Trick Room. Like Heatran, it still has the ability to function as a check to Psychic spam. However, the loss of Steel typing makes it less useful as a pivot, making it more apt to run an offensively-inclined hybrid set with Assault Vest, be a speed safety net with Choice Scarf, or just simply set Trick Room that be dangerous from there.

Deadline of building on Saturday GMT noon!

This is one of the most fun teams I've built and I've used it extensively on ladder and brought it to seasonals, both were successful. My idea was based on the couple of teams I saw in SPL using groundium metagross which was really cool and I paired it with a rain core because it helps to check fires/grounds and just chunk everything with muddy water. Speaking of big chunks of damage I have Mega Salamence as this team deals with steels very well at this point and Mega Mence also gives secondary speed control. Koko is a nice pivot to win weather wars and terrain wars. I round out the team with Victini which is a perfect 6th mon here as it checks Sun and Psychic Spam very well. U-turn gives me momentum, blue flare for damage, bolt strike to hit bulky waters and glaciate for lando and zygarde. Note: I have ice beam on Kingdra for more consistency taking out mence and zygarde even if misty terrain is up

Electric Spam

This is a "reconfiguration" of one of my outdated teams, and it pretty fun to use. Well, Electric Spam obviously have Tapu Koko, but the problem is taking care of mons that are resistant/immune to Electric-type moves. As in result, I added Victini and Kyube; they take care of mons like Bulu and Zygarde with ease. Then, I added Landorus-T (w/ Tectonic Rage) to make my matchup against Tyranitar, Kang, and Steel-types more solid. The only other problem was that Kyube and Lando-T's speed tier was eh, so I decided to put Suicune, a reliable tailwind setter with nice defensive typing. Last mon is Mega Metagross cause having a Steel-type is always resourceful.

So I based this team around the core of Fini-tini. Max Def/Max HP Fini (cause you can CM your SPD/SPA), standard set.
Victini I chose to be an all around attacker. I set the speed so that it outruns Zygardes trying to speed creep Zygardes trying to outrun Kokos at +1 and says fuck you with a Glaciate. I always like Bolt Strike, as Araquanids aren't exactly prepared for Physical electric attacks, and Fini can only set up its SpD. Also, its a LO HP.
I then chose Scrafty as my pretty much obligatory Intimidate user over Lando-T and Mence. Having 2 Fake out is really nice, as other people are unprepared for it. I put Poison Jab over Ice Punch, as I already had enough ways to deal with Lando-T/Zygarde/Mence (Fini-tini+Kang, sorta), and it's a way to punish Leles that try to swap in on a fake out, as well as do Super Effective damage to all the Finis unlike Iron Head.

Ok, so far, 3 pokemon with very slow types, and nothing I can throw into Fairies or mence. Therefore, I placed TR rachi into this slot. The Speed IV is set to outspeed +1 Zygardes under TW, while being as slow as possible for TR.

I slapped on Kang as my Mega. I chose Low Kick over D-Edge as a way to better deal with opposing Kangs and Heatrans, and everything else I just S-toss. Plus, the lack of recoil gives Kang a slightly better longevity.

I placed Zapdos as my 6th pokemon to make my team a TailRoom team. The Speed is such that it just underspeeds Victini. Heat Wave is there as a spread move, and I preferred it over HP Ice on this team.

Description ::
  • Since, yesterday we were finally given mawilite and due to my eternal love for it, here's the first team built around mega-maw + victini. I made this team a while back when I first heard they were gonna get released and till now it has been working decently well. Mawile has some really good matchups right now with various mons in the meta. Play Rough ensures 1hko on various stuff like mega-salamence and other dragons like zygarde. Iron Head is ever so valuable with all the fairies running around and it's ability to beat all 4 tapus 1v1 and knock off rounds off the coverage by nailing aegislash and almost koing jirachi. Some steels are still an issue and obviously it's slow speed, so incomes victini with blue flare + hp ground to take on most relevant steels and great utility in trick room facilitating a mawile sweep or allowing it to get off a hit.
  • Since the team actually had a weird matchup against heatran, next up we have the the spider bug with it's nifty typing/ability and wide guard. Waterium Z is preferred for it's excellent 1hko potential in general. Talking about tailwind and since the team desperately needed some electric STAB for not so common volcanion, we have zapdos. Sitrus Berry is preferred due to zapdos loving the burst recovery, allowing it to live hits like zard heatwave + lando rockslide.
  • And finally I slapped on my favourite offensive/defensive core of AV Bulu + ttar, giving me more than a decent matchup against weather teams and tyranitar's ability to freely switch into zard. Superpower 1hkoes heatran, kang and chunks p2 really hard. Bulu + Arquanid handles plenty of stuff really well, as nature's madness + liquidation is 1hko on common pivots lke jirachi, celesteela, while bulu providing us a definite switch-in to ever so popular koko.
  • Speed EVs :: The EVs are moderated to work both in tailwind and trick room. Mawile outspeeds base 100s under tailwind and some stuff like uninvested ttars etc outside tailwind. Victini outspeeds scarf lando-t inside tailwind and just nudges adamant base 70s out of it. Tyranitar outspeeds base 110s like mega-metagross in tailwind and bulu outspeeds koko in tailwind.

This is an hyper offensive team I have been continually improving over the past week. The goal was to use either Mawile or Beedrill; I struggled to make victini fit with those guys but eventually decided that Final Gambit Scarf makes a lot of sense if I were to use Victini with Mawile. 1 great reason is that it OHKOs heatran - a major Mawile threat.
Final Gambit is a one shot move and a lot of times I get locked into V create so another Heatran check is require. Pheromosa adds a second check to heatran and for ttar and kang. I took the slow Mosa idea from Acrticblast but use different EVs. It out speeds base 130s and has more attack than speed for beast boost to the attack stat. after 1 beast boost its at 595 attack and with Fightium Z it will OHKO many things. Ice Beam adds amazing coverage to this mon. Add with the little bit of HP dump this guy can actually take a resisted hit or two, unlike deoA who cant take a hit from anything at all.
Next Bulu to is the hard water check and keeps the hyper offense going with amazingly strong horn leech. he benefits mawile, victini, and mosa so they can asorb LanoT EQs and roar is just amazing, I love it to check tr and remove unfavorable match ups.
last 2 slots I have changed a lot. gasto adds another water and steel check. gives speed control to slow mons bulu and mawile. with bulky sub icy wind it can disrupt a lot of teams. finally the last slot has changed quiet a bit. I settled on darkrai for taunt and dark pulse who can also sludge bomb on fairies. the dark pluse + sludge is nice coverage. I had thundyI before but I think darkrai is actually better for I require in this last slot - it has more bulk and out runs mence and metagross
heres a really against a dou person http://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen7doublesoususpecttest-545730008
