Alright, voting over. Here are the winners:

Checks: Mega Pinsir (GnralLao) / Gengar (Ramses)
Counters: Mimikyu (Eclipse) / Alolan Marowak (david0895 )

The victim for week 7 is Mega Metagross. Have fun!

Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Zen Headbutt
- Earthquake / Hammer Arm
- Thunder Punch / Ice Punch / Bullet Punch

Mega Metagross boasts an excellent Type combination which allows it to take popular Dragon and Fairy type attacks while hitting back hard with Tough Claws boosted STAB Meteor Mash. Metagross also possess solid bulk to compliment its high offensive stats. Earthquake is a good coverage move to hit Heatran, Alolan Marowak and opposing Mega Metagross hard while Hammer Arm allows Metagross to dent Ferrothorn and Kartana. Thunder Punch gives Metagross the ability to hit Celesteela and Skarmory hard while Ice Punch allows it to get past Landorus-T and Zygarde. Bullet Punch provides Metagross with a form of priority move for it to pick off foes.

EDIT: Congratulations to user GnralLao for entering the Hall of Fame with 5 nominations.

Pink fat fish is back and still fat. Its huge HP stat coupled with decent defenses allow it to take any attack Metagross throws at it even tanking Thunder Punch on the switch if Rocks aren't up. Regenerator keeps it helathy so it can switch in more reliably and Wish lets you heal a teammate after getting a free switch on Metagross. Scald is weak but it threatens to burn it so Metagross should never try to stay in

Hippo is a very strong answer to Mega Metagross. While not a counter due to the fact that switching into Ice Punch directly while weakened can mean Hippo gets 2HKO'd as throughout the course of the match it can get weakened into 2HKO range, Hippo can take all of the rest of Mega Metagross' attacks, Slack Off the damage, and respond by 2HKO'ing it with 2 STAB EQ's. Be careful not to go for 2 EQ's in a row to take it out, as 2 Ice Punches will put it into KO range for just about all of Metagross' partners as Hippo will be at around 30% if it does not heal up after EQ'ing Metagross twice in a row.

Reserving Volcarona as a check

Volcarona @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Quiver Dance
- Fiery Dance/Flamethrower
- Giga Drain/HP Ice/Bug Buzz

Volcarona is able to threaten Mega Metagross due to a multitude of factors. For one, if Mega Metagross is not running Zen Headbutt, it is not able to 2hko Volcarona.

252 Atk Metagross-Mega Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 228 Def Volcarona: 125-148 (33.5 - 39.6%) -- 23.6% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

As well as this, clicking Zen Headbutt may also result in flame body activating, which can really hamper M-Metagross' wallbreaking capabilities.

Volcarona can also utilise M-Metagross as settup fodder in certain situations, usually if it isn't running the aforementioned Zen Headbutt, or even Earthquake to an extent. The speed investment is in order to outspeed Max Speed Pheromosa that doesn't have a boosting nature at +1(401 Speed). The rest of the EVs is dumped into bulk in order to better sponge hits, from the likes of M-Metagross and other steel and grass types in the tier.

The only problem with using Volcarona as a M-Metagross check is that it can't reliably switch into a it if rocks are already on the field, but it can easily do so if rocks aren't on the field.

Another key area of concern for using bulkyrona as a M-Meta switchin is that since it's reliant on roost for longevity, it usually misses out on crucial coverage to hit the likes of toxapex, heatran, zygarde and so on.

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball

- Stealth Rock

Bronzong can switch into a large number of Mega Metagross' moves (notably its STAB moves, Earthquake and the elemental punches) and 3-4HKOes in return with Earthquake. Beware of Hammer Arm, though, as it 3HKOes Bronzong if Meteor Mash grants Metagross an Attack boost (4HKO otherwise), but then it opens Metagross to revenge killing).

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Bronzong: 67-80 (19.8 - 23.6%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Bronzong: 75-89 (22.1 - 26.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Hammer Arm vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Bronzong: 100-118 (29.5 - 34.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (3HKO if Metagross is at +1, combined with Meteor Mash switch-in can potentially be a 2HKO)

0 Atk Bronzong Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Metagross-Mega: 92-110 (30.5 - 36.5%) -- 55.3% chance to 3HKO (almost guaranteed with SR)

Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 232 Def / 28 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Fire Blast / Psyshock
- Calm Mind
- Slack Off

Metagross cannot hurt you, so you can just switch in and set up. Even if Slowbro hasn't mega evolved yet. (No need to worry about a bogus critical hit either).

Pre mega:
252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 248 HP / 232+ Def Slowbro-Mega: 158-188 (40.2 - 47.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Post mega:

Unless Metagross runs that juicy tough claws boosted grass knot, there's nothing to fear.

Fire blast is probably a better option that psyshock in current meta. Of course special walls will be more of an issue without psyshock, but its relatively easy to prepare for a Chansey or to soften up a fini. At +1 it deals with a lot of switch ins:

+1 0 SpA Slowbro-Mega Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Metagross-Mega: 274-324 (91 - 107.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

OHKOs at +1:
  • Kartana
  • Scizor
  • Buzzwole
  • Ferrorthorn
  • Tapu Bulu
  • Tangrowth
  • Celesteela (depends on set)

Choice Band Dugtrio as a check

Dugtrio @ Choice Band
Ability: Arena Trap
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Sucker Punch
- Aerial Ace

Even though Sash Dugtrio can beat most of Mega-Metagross' sets, it requires hazard control to do it and unless you run Sucker Punch SashTrio, Metagross-Mega can beat it on 1v1 if it have Bullet Punch. This set can take a Bullet Punch even with Rocks up and Earthquake Metagross, you have almost 70% chance of OHKOing it without Rocks, and is a guaranteed OHKO with Stealth Rocks, and thanks to Arena Trap it's basically a safe way to revenge kill Metagross.

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Bullet Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Dugtrio: 160-189 (75.8 - 89.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Rotom-Wash as a Check

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 240 Def / 20 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Defensive Rotom-Wash is able to take on Mega Metagross fairly easily whenever it switches since its typing gives a nifty 4x resists Mega-Metagross' Meteor Mash. Mega Metagross does the most damage with Zen Headbutt but unless Rotom-Wash switchs in on rocks against a Zen Headbutt it avoids any chance of 2HKO from Metagross, and is a counter to any non-zen headbutt variant.

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Rotom-Wash: 127-151 (41.9 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Rotom-Wash: 127-151 (41.9 - 49.8%) -- 26.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Rotom-Wash: 127-151 (41.9 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Rotom-Wash doesn't possess good enough reliable recovery to deal with Mega-Gross over and over throughout a match, especially if the opposing player uses Zen Headbutt on the switch-in but overall its a pretty decent check.

Defensive Rotom-Wash is able to take on Mega Metagross fairly easily whenever it switches since its typing gives a nifty 4x resists Mega-Metagross' Meteor Mash. Mega Metagross does the most damage with Zen Headbutt shown in the calc below but its 3HKOish with Rocks and a 4HKO without them.

252 Atk Metagross Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Rotom-Wash: 93-111 (30.6 - 36.6%) -- 65% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 Atk Metagross Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Rotom-Wash: 93-111 (30.6 - 36.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

Rotom-Wash can force Mega Metagross out by threatening it with a burn, go for volt switch to allow a scarfer like Garchomp or Keldeo to switch into Metagross and threaten it out or go directly for a Hydro Pump which is a pretty secure 2HKO with Rocks up:

0 SpA Rotom-Wash Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Metagross: 135-160 (44.8 - 53.1%) -- 88.3% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

Rotom-Wash doesn't possess good enough reliable recovery to deal with Mega-Gross over and over throughout a match, especially if the opposing player uses Zen Headbutt on the switch-in, but it is more like a counter since it can switch-in and beat Mega-Metagross 1v1.
That's not the right calcs. You used Metagross instead of M-Metagross with Tough Claws. Here's the correct calc:

252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Zen Headbutt vs. 248 HP / 240+ Def Rotom-Wash: 127-151 (41.9 - 49.8%) -- 26.6% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Because of that, Rotom-W is more of a check than a counter.

Also, I'm taking Quagmire as a hard check/counter.

Hard Check / Counter

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Recover
- Toxic

Due to Quagsire's typing and physical bulk, MegaGross' strongest move, Zen Headbutt, almost always fails to 2HKO it after SR and one layer of Spikes. Moreover, MegaGross can't hope to beat Quagsire by acquiring Atk boosts from Meteor Mash, as its ability, Unaware, nullifies those boosts. In return, Quagsire can burn MegaGross with Scald before 2HKOing it with Earthquake, all while Recovering its HP from MegaGross' (and its teammates') attacks.
252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Meteor Mash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 83-98 (21 - 24.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Ice Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 93-110 (23.6 - 27.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Metagross-Mega Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 95-112 (24.1 - 28.4%) -- 0.1% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Skarmory manages to always avoid the 2HKO from Thunder Punch even after Rocks and Lefties recovery, while Shed Shell variants are still able of always avoiding the 2HKO without Rocks. Counter is a cool option to use in situations where your opponent used/is spamming Meteor Mash trying to get an attack boost to break past Skarmory with. Both sets are capable of avoiding the 2HKO from max roll Meteor Mash followed by +1 max roll Thunder Punch, while Leftovers sets are able to do so after Rocks. Skarmory can also set up Spikes on Metagross.

Leftovers: 252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Thunder Punch vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 132-156 (39.5 - 46.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

I'll let the hosts decide whether it's a check or counter. This Pokemon isn't that good and is very niche, but it's new so whatever.

Steelix @ Steelixite
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 56 Def / 204 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Heavy Slam
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

Mega Steelix does a good job of dealing with Mega Metagross, taking everything Metagross can throw at it with ease due to its titanic defense stat. Furthermore, Mega Steelix also counters Tapu Koko, which is an extremely common and threatening partner for Mega Metagross--further exemplifying just how well it deals with Mega Metagross teams (although it needs to take care vs. Natures Madness variants). The listed EV spread does a nice job of helping Steelix beat Mega Metagross, hitting a jump point in Defense and allowing it to avoid a 2HKO from Hammer Arm after 1 spike (or 91.2% of the time after SR+1 Spike)--allowing it to deal heavy damage in return with Earthquake (usually 2HKOs, but it gets close to OHKOing if sand is active due to Sand Force). More physically defensive spreads can be used to take Hammer Arm/EQ better if you so please, but be aware that doing so compromises its ability to take hits specially.
Listed Spread:
  • 252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Hammer Arm vs. 248 HP / 56+ Def Steelix-Mega: 130-154 (36.8 - 43.6%) -- 9.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and 1 layer of Spikes
  • 252 Atk Tough Claws Metagross-Mega Hammer Arm vs. 248 HP / 56+ Def Steelix-Mega: 130-154 (36.8 - 43.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after 1 layer of Spikes
  • 252 Atk Metagross-Mega Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 56+ Def Steelix-Mega: 102-120 (28.8 - 33.9%) -- 0.8% chance to 3HKO
  • 0 Atk Steelix-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Metagross-Mega: 186-218 (61.7 - 72.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
  • 0 Atk Sand Force Steelix-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Metagross-Mega in Sand: 236-282 (78.4 - 93.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
