[OVERVIEW]

* Galvantula's main niche is Sticky Web, which allows it to support its teammates by lowering foes' Speed by one stage.
* Galvantula has an average Special Attack stat and a decent base Speed, so it is able to threaten out Pokemon such as Keldeo due to them sharing a Speed tier, which can provide it with an opportunity to set up Sticky Web.
* It's ability, Compound Eyes, gives it the freedom to run Thunder, setting it apart from other Electric-types.
* With access to Energy Ball and Bug Buzz, it's able to threaten Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Latias, which are able to beat other Electric-types such as Raikou.
* Galvantula does face a large amount of competition from other Electric-types such as Raikou, as it boasts superior Speed.
* It also faces competition as a Sticky Web setter from Shuckle, which can perform that role much more reliably.

[SET]
name: Life Orb Attacker
move 1: Sticky Web
move 2: Thunder

move 4: Energy Ball
item: Life Orb / Focus Sash
ability: Compound Eyes
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Sticky Web is the move that sets Galvantula apart from other Electric-types, lowering the foes' Speed by one stage and allowing Galvantula to support its teammates.
* Thunder is the primary STAB move that Galvantula utilises, and it is only able to viably use it due to its ability in Compound Eyes. The extra damage from Thunder helps make up for its mediocre Special Attack stat.
* Bug Buzz is a secondary STAB move that can hit Electric-type checks such as Latias.
* Energy Ball allows Galvantula to hit Ground-types such as Swampert and Hippowdon super effectively.

Set Details
========

* Galvantula runs maximum Special Attack and Speed investment with a Timid nature in order to hit as hard as possible while outspeeding Pokemon such as Hydreigon and Celebi.
* Life Orb is required in order for Galvantula to increase its damage output.
* Focus Sash is an option to turn Galvantula into a suicide lead, but the drop in power power is generally not worth it.
* Compound Eyes is the ability of choice in order to boost the accuracy of Thunder.

Usage Tips
========

* Galvantula is best used early- or mid-game in order to set up Sticky Web and fire off powerful Life Orb-boosted attacks.
* Depending on the match-up, Galvantula should prioritize between getting up Sticky Web and attacking; against slower teams, attacking would be the priority, while against faster ones, focus on getting up Sticky Web.
* If the opposition carries entry hazard removal, one should assess if Sticky Web should be set up immediately or later in the game once the hazard remover is eliminated. If Galvantula's team is unable to punish the opposition's hazard remover effectively, it may be worth setting up Sticky Web later.
* Galvantula is extremely frail and shouldn't be used to take any attacks. Instead, it only be brought in at the start of the battle, if provided a free switch, or after a teammate has fainted.

Team Options
========

* Pokemon that take advantage of Sticky Webs make for excellent partners. Therefore, slower wallbreakers like Nidoking and Primarina work well.
* Ghost-types such as Gengar and Chandelure work well, as they prevent Rapid Spin.
* Bisharp and Tornadus make for good partners, as they are able to deter and punish Defog.
* Taunt users such as Gengar, Krookodile, and Cobalion are good for preventing Defog.
* Hazard removers such as Starmie and Mega Blastoise work well with Galvantula due to it being weak to entry hazards. Starmie, in particular, is also able to remove Ground-types that can check Galvantula.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Volt Switch allows Galvantula to gain momentum but is rather weak compared to its other moves.
* Choice Specs increases its damage output; however, it takes away from Galvantula's ability to punish conventional Electric-type checks effectively.
* Hidden Power Ice allows Galvantula to hit Gliscor and Nidoqueen.
* Thunder Wave should only be used in conjunction with Focus Sash and lets Galvantula cripple faster Pokemon such as Mega Aerodactyl.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Hazard Removal**: Defog users such as Latias and Mantine and Rapid Spin users such as Starmie and Forretress are able to remove Galvantula's Sticky Web. However, one must not attempt to do so with these Pokemon if Galvantula is in play, as they have a poor match-up against it.

**Special Walls**: Pokemon such as Blissey and Snorlax take absolutely nothing from any of Galvantula's attacks and can retaliate with Seismic Toss and Body Slam, respectively, for example.

**Ground-types**: Ground-type Pokemon such as Gliscor and Nidoqueen are able to shrug off a majority of Galvantula's attacks barring the uncommon Hidden Power Ice and retaliate with a powerful Ground-type attack in Earthquake and Earth Power, respectively.

**Faster Pokemon**: Due to Galvantula's frailty, Pokemon faster than it such as Talonflame and Mega Aerodactyl pose immediate threats. However, (AC) they must be cautious of Focus Sash variants.

**Bisharp**: Due to Bisharp's ability Defiant, it is able to get a +2 Attack boost just by switching into Sticky Web. Therefore, when playing against teams with Bisharp, one must be cautious of setting up Sticky Web. In such cases, Galvantula would be better off just attacking; however, Adamant Bisharp's Sucker Punch is able to outright KO Galvantula. [/hide][/quote]

Mention the importance of evaluating the opposing team's hazard control options and how well the user's team punishes opposing hazard removal when deciding whether or not to set Sticky Web in Usage Tips. Otherwise, this looks good. Galvantula is pretty straightforward.

QC 1/3.

thanks! implemented. ready for next check

for team options i dont really think tornadus is a good taunt user imo, id rather mention something like cobalion or krookodile there

dont mention mantine or starmie in the hazard removal section for c&c imo, i dont think anyone sane is going to clear webs against a galv with those things lol

e: talked on discord and we decided to just keep this but say to not clear them when out against galv specifically

add a ground type section for c&c as well, because unless galvs running hp ice its not really a big threat to gliscor or nidoqueen. not a lot of the other grounds can take on galv off the top of my head but generalizing for those two and nidoking as well i guess is a good idea.

i think priority should be removed from c&c, it is susceptible to it but none of the prio moves are ohkoing

252 Atk Life Orb Bisharp Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Galvantula: 220-259 (78.2 - 92.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Zygarde-10% Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Galvantula: 164-194 (58.3 - 69%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

just as examples

do this and make the grammar more up to par with c&c standards (its kinda hard to read atm lol). after that its a 2/3 from moi

In the overview, I'd move the point regarding its Speed to be the second point, and elaborate a bit on how it helps, since the decent Speed and even Special Attack at times is pretty big in terms of Galvantula getting up Sticky Web. Remove Heliolisk from stuff Galvantula faces competition from; it's pretty much irrelevant at the moment, especially after seeing killintime's week 1 game from UUPL lol. Not much else regarding the set itself, straightforward Pokemon.

QC 3/3
