TIMELESS TOWER

Timeless Tower is an unfathomably large structure seated on an impregnable cliffside. The tower's main spire looms over its entrance hundreds of feet into the air. Bridges extend from the main tower to three separate spires, each on an island pillar of immense density. The ocean roars violently below, beckoning you to stay away.

The bridge to the east leads to a tower frozen over in a massive pillar of ice. The sunlight glistens against its reflective surface, yet no melt can be shown. You look cold just staring at it.

The bridge to the west leads to a craggy pillar that seems to be etched from the very earth itself, impossibly dense and immovable.

A third tower can be seen behind the structure on your map, but it is eclipsed by the sheer enormity of the main spire. It is made of the sturdiest looking metal you have ever seen, an unnaturally purely refined solidity that shares the brilliant sheen of the icy tower and the sheer density of the crag.

As you go up to the entrance, the drawbridge on the main gate opens and falls with a loud crash onto the only access to the mainland. On either side of the bridge are statues of Golurk holding up massive spears. As you enter the main atrium, a massive statue of Golem rolled up into a ball takes the center of the arena. You look around the room and see exits your east and west going to the towers, stairs built into the floor going down presumably to the tower behind the main spire, and a massive door with 3 slots in the gate. Depictions of the gate are on the left and right, and show 3 stones being placed in the gate. Both mosaics are completely sand-colored except for the stones. One is an azure blue, one is a dull brown, and the other a shimmering silver. You attempt to push the gate, but it is so massively heavy you feel tired just pushing on it. It will not budge.

What could this all mean? And where do you go from here?

Your Options are as follows...
Enter Ice Spire
Enter Rock Crag
Enter Iron Dungeon
Enter Heaven's Ascent, which you two can't do at the moment

DarkSlay, since you've already conquered Rock Crag, you don't have to Challenge Rock Crag if you don't want to in order to reach Heaven's Ascent.

Other than that, let the TLR Begin!

Let us Enter Ice Spire.

Well, seeing TravelLog hasn't logged on in 6 days, I might as well not wait for him & get DarkSlay's update done immediately. Once TravelLog posts, then I'll incorporate his adventure into the updates alongside DarkSlay's.

Ice Spire - Chilling Chamber

Well, you decide that you want to enter Ice Spire, so you call Salmon, Lumber, & Ankhles over to the chilling tower & using the knowledge gained from Kaxtar's adventure, you go inside with high hopes, especially Ankhles, who had previously been to the Rock Crag, confident she can make it to the end.

So, you go through the path & you instantly start to feel cold, & you feel as if you want to blitz through this quickly. Going through the endless staircases & cold, slippery hallways, you eventually arrive at a chamber of a reasonable size. You make a temperature check, about -5 Degrees Celsius (~23 Degrees Farenheit). This, you hope is as cold as it gets. However, not as soon as you focus back onto the task at hand, you notice 2 Pokemon in the distance: A Snorunt & a Vanillite. You try to sneak past without being noticed, but you make a wrong step & slip over the ice, catching the attention of the two Lackeys, who rush over & confront you, thinking you were an intruder. They don't look friendly...

Before they could strike, you call upon Salmon, Lumber & Ankhles & try to scare them away. They don't look intimidated & show a "Bring it on" feeling. Well, it's time to duel, it seems...

Sorry for the delay.

Hm, let's see...

Ankhles: Rock Slide -> Hammer Arm (Vanillite)
Lumber: Hammer Arm (Vanillite) -> Drain Punch (Vanillite)
Salmon: Flamethrower (Vanillite) -> Trick Room
IF (
Lumber is hit with both Ice Beam and Hidden Power), THEN (change Flamethrower to Heal Pulse (Lumber))

IF (Vanillite faints), THEN (redirect all attacks of Ankhles and Lumber to Snorunt)

Yeah, TravelLog, feel free to post when you want & I can get your adventure started...You have been online since last update...Anyways, DarkSlay, your next update.

Ice Spire - Chilling Chamber

Ankhles gets the jump & opens the battle by grabbing sevral rocks & dropping them overhead on the two adversaries, both of them taking fairly considerable damage & creating a minor crack on the chamber floor. This doesn't stop Snorunt, however, as she fired a cold beam at Lumber, striking & making Lumber lose a bit of balance on the slippery surface, but then used his massive slabs to regain balance, before flattening Vanillite with a powerful thrust from his concrete slab, causing another crack in the floor. Vanillite did not approve, & responded by striking with magical orbs that seemed to have a telepathic energy encased in it. Rounding out, Salmon saw that her teammate was in danger, so she helps Lumber out by firing an orb of energy which heals Lumber, making him feel a little bit better.

Ankhles then continues the focus on Vanillite by approaching him, before walloping him with her arm. The two lackeys then regrouped, & prepared a powerful attack, with Snorunt firing a massive block of moving snow which strikes all three of your Pokemon, catching both Salmon & Ankhles off guard, as they both are sent sliding into a wall, which they both crash into. Just when you thought the Lackey's had worn themselves out, they immediately then continue their attack, with Vanillite firing another block of fast, whipping snow at your party. All three were prepared & weren't caught off guard, but they still couldn't evade the attack. After the driving snow settled, Lumber instantly got straight back to pulverising the opposition, striking Vanillite with a magical fist that absorbed some health, as Vanillite was sent back & hit the wall hard before falling unconscious. Wrapping up the round, Salmon makes an odd cry which was powerful enough to force the dimensions of the chamber to twist around, before creaing a zone in which the slower were faster & the faster were slower. Not as soon as the dimensions became fully twisted, something strange happened to the Snorunt, as she suddenly became smaller, but became a bit more physically weak.

You seem to have the Lackey's on the ropes. Will you manage to overhaul the Lackey's before they do something bad? Or will the remaining Lackey strike back? Issue your actions.

One minor nitpick: Rock Slide should have done 17 damage to both targets. (8 + 3) x 1.5 = 16.6 ~ 17. Aside from that, all looks well.

Hm...Evasion? Let's go ahead and nullify that, shall we?

Salmon: Chill -> Flamethrower
Lumber: Foresight -> Hammer Arm
IF (
Lumber is targeted in Snorunt's first attack) AND (The move hits), THEN (Use Drain Punch on the second action)
Ankhles: Drain Punch -> Hammer Arm

Its_A_Random Oct 20th, 2011 12:52:54 AM

Under normal circumstances, yes. But because of the 75% Rule, The Damage goes down from 16.5 (17) to 12.375 (12) for both. Anyways, the update.

DARKSLAY

Ice Spire - Chilling Chamber

Despite the twisted Dimensions, Snorunt opens by going into a state where she's preparing an attack. Salmon is not falling for this, & she decides to just take a break, tired from all that dimension twisting & helping out. Lumber isn't falling for the suddenly pint-sized Snorunt's tricks either, & launches a red beam from his eyes, which scan the area & reveal that Snorunt isn't as small as she made herself out to be! Ankhles takes full advantage & whacks Snorunt with a magical fist which recovers some of Ankhles' health, but Snorunt doesn't budge, taking the energy in & stockpiling it for something pretty nasty.

So, as Snorunt continues to charge up, Salmon leads her army into attack, roasting the Snorunt with a powerful breath of fire which thaws some of the cracked ice, as Lumber wallops Snorunt with his slab, & Ankhles wallops Snorunt with his arm as well, the last attack being too much for Snorunt to handle & ends up falling over, flying into a wall & crashing, before being shown unconscious. The battle was over. You celebrate the victory & seeing nothing else, you cross over to the other side of the chamber & move on.

Ice Spire - Plain Ice

After the battle, you slip & slide your way through a few more corridors & staircases that seem to go on & on. After a while, you start to notice that it is getting colder & colder, horribly fast as well. Eventually, you become incredibly exhausted after all that trekking & go for the bottle of water...Only for it to be all frozen up. Bloody negative temperature... So you then trek on & on, becoming more thirstier & thirstier, before finally finding another chamber, which you go inside.

As you walk in you notice that while you're freezing the Pokemon here seem to be enjoying the cold. This whole expansive corridor is little more than a giant skating rink. You surmise the small holes in the sides of the room are the nests for all the Pokemon. As you cross towards the end of the arena, you notice the Pokemon playing a game. Swinub and Delibird appear to have set up a soccer match using a ball of ice. Unfortunately, both of them are blocking your way and don't appear friendly.

Do you...
a) take on the Swinub
b) take on the Delibird

DarkSlay Oct 20th, 2011 1:33:59 AM

Well, that Delibird seems like a nice fellow, giving out presents and stuff. Maybe my Pokemon will enjoy a nice game of soccer with it. So, approach Delibird and try to make friends with it! :)

DARKSLAY

Ice Spire -
Plain Ice

So you go & find a way to get past the soccer game uninterrupted, but there's one problem: The exit is on the other side, & that could mean barging through the game. So you search for another way around. Well, there's the poorly-made, Ice Built Grandstands, but it's packed with Delibirds & Swinubs who were watching an Ice Spire Football League match between the Swinubs & the Delibirds. Sadly, the game was horribly one-sided with the Delibirds leading 7-0. Sadly, your not wanting to interrupt the game means that you decide to stay & watch from a distance...

Half an hour later, & the game finally ends with a 12-0 win to the Delibirds. You think this is the moment to get to the other side. Was fun to watch, but you really need to get a move on, so you run. Your bold dash catches the attention of almost every Pokemon in the room & they all start squabbling & running in terror...Well, except for the Delibird Soccer Team...Who bravely stand their ground. Upon all the running about, you slip over & fall on the ice. Ouch! One of the Delibird then come up to you & offer you a present. Awww...How cute...You reluctantly accept the present & open it up...BOOM! You were offered a Bomb...You suddenly become angry in rage & send out your three Pokemon, scaring most of the Delibird Soccer Team away...However, 2 of them stand their ground. Not happy at the terror you caused, the Delibird start to attack you. It's time to duel!

Ankhles begins the battle by starting to focus squarely on Delibired A, as both Delibird (Somehow) find some way to fly into the air along the high ceiling...Stupid retarded Game Freak for giving Fly to those that can't actually fly...Moving on, & Lumber flexes his muscles, making himself stronger & more stiffer than before, as Salmon enshrouds her comrades in a protective box that should provide some sort of resistance against the Delibird...as the Delibird (Somehow) swoop down in synchronisation & strike Lumber at about the same time, making Lumber lose a bit of damage, but as Delibird A struck Lumber, Ankhles immediately pounced, walloping Delibird A with a powerful punch.

The second action begins the same way as the first as Ankhles focuses on on Delibird A, while the two Delibird randomly find themselves in the air. Lumber continues to flex his muscles, as Salmon helps him out with a magical orb that heals Lumber. The two Delibird then swoop on Lumber, dealing a lot of damage, as Ankhles whacks Delibird A with her fist, dealing powerful damage.

So, you are in a powerful position, but there's still a long way to go, not to mention, those pesky Delibird are not going to make it easy for you. What will you do? Issue your actions.

Just going to take this moment to say that It will be ~2 days before I ref again, due to me going away IRL. If someone can get TravelLog to post...Anyways, that's the update.

DarkSlay Oct 21st, 2011 12:00:06 PM

Aye, this will be tricky. Let's go ahead and see if we can set up a little trap...

Salmon: Trick Room -> Power Gem (Delibird 1)
IF (
You are the target of a Fake Out and flinch), THEN (Push your actions back)
Lumber:
Chill -> Hammer Arm (Delibird 1)
IF (
Salmon is the target of a Fake Out), THEN (Target the recent user of Fake Out with a Stone Edge and push your actions back.)
Ankhles:
Chill -> Rock Slide
IF (Salmon is the target of a Fake Out), THEN (Target the recent user of Fake Out with a Hammer Armand push your actions back)

Also, FYI, I should have 13 Ultra Balls. I had 3 in stock from my previous adventure, and it was noted in my backpack in my registration post.

Gotcha. Fixed now.

The two Delibirds, now Hustlers, open up the round by showing some great teamwork, with Delibird B shattering the protective wall surrounding Salmon & then Delibird A chucked a few seed grenades at Salmon from his sack of...Well, Delibird stuff. Ankhles & Lumber take a moment to have a breather, regaining their strengths, as Salmon goes into a state where he twists the dimensions of the entire chamber around on its head.

Delibird A then gets a jump by making a lightning fast burst at Salmon, critically damaging Salmon, making her cringe in horror. Salmon ends up doing nothing after the burst, as Lumber critically hammers Delibird A with his concrete slabs, enveloped in a rocky aura, as Ankhles hammers the stricken Delibird with his arm, knocking the Delibird out. The remaining Delibird then caps off the round by going into his bottomless sack & hurling seed grenades at Salmon, which expplode upon impact, as Lumber starts to feel a little less stiff than before.

You have the Delibird on the ropes. What will you do? Issue your actions.

Also, to everyone I forget at the moment. Thanks!

Ice Spire -

Ankhles begins by focusing her attention on the remaining Delibird, as Delibird suddenly makes a lightning quick burst of speed which shocks Salmon, who flinches as a result. Lumber responds by walloping the Delibird from overhead by throwing his slabs on top of it, as Ankhles takes full advantage, whacking Delibird with a powerful punch.

Salmon, sick & tired of all the shocks, decides o take this moment to take a breather, as Ankhles hurls powerful icy rocks from overhead which strike Delibird, before Lumber proceeds to finish off the Delibird with his powerful Slabs, filled with a rocky aura, an unecessary crit.

As the Delibird are defeated, you recall your Pokemon back into their Poke Balls. While you're sad to see the small Pokemon scatter, you really must continue your quest. You hope this place isn't this cold everywhere, but you have your suspicions.

Another endless set of stairs & annoying climbs await you as you left the previous chamber. The entire place is starting to feel even colder than before, & the ice becoming slipperier & more impregnable than before, looks like you're in this for the long run... As you continue in this frigid palace, you come upon a blocks of solid ice, within which you find two item containers. Elated at the find, you send out your Pokemon to examine it. You feel like maybe you have a tool on one of your Pokemon to break it or thaw the ice. Do you pursue this at the risk of being attacked by a wild Pokemon as you do so?

Do you...
a) Thaw / Break the ice! [REQUIRES A FIRE-TYPE MOVE OR A MOVE SUPER EFFECTIVE AGAINST THE ICE-TYPE]
b) Ignore this and continue before you draw attention from the wildlife

The sub didn't trigger because Delibird had 39 HP after Action 1, js.

The Vanilluxe knocks you away & leaves only Salmon to fight it for a couple of rounds at least.

With Salmon isolated, Vanillluxe decides to waste no time getting down to business, causing a slight downpour, much to Salmon's delight, before making herself a lot lighter than before. Now that she's fully set up, Vanilluxe is ready to pounce! What can Salmon do? Issue your actions.

The Vanilluxe begins by showering Salmon in a blanket of driving snow. It was cold, but Salmon could withstand it, though she took some damage in the process. Salmon is forced to respond to this by entering the Vanilluxe's mind telepathically & messing around with it, erasing some move from the Vanilluxe's arsenal.
Vanilluxe then continues to go on the offensive, firing a cold beam of ice at Salmon, putting her in dire straits. Salmon responds by firing electrical energy at the Vanilluxe, paralysing her.
Vanilluxe then spends the final action staring blankly, forgetting what she was going to do, as Salmon pounces, firing a jet of hot, steamy water at the Vanilluxe from her mouth.

Looks like it could be the end of the line for Salmon, what will you do to save her? Issue your actions.

Two months passed, still no response, this has been idling long enough, so I'm officially calling curtains to this TLR, Sorry you two.

Neither of you get anything for being DQed, I claim 12 UC (5 from Lackeys, 5 from Nests, 2 from Traps).
