I'm not surprised Mienfoo is #1. The ability to run a plethora of sets to perfectly fit your team makes him one of best fighting types right now, if not the best.

Dwebble kind of surprises me, but than again, he is pretty bulky, has Sturdy, and both important entry hazards.

NatGeo Dec 2nd, 2011 4:42:04 PM

ah!

nice to see mienfoo no. 1 again, though being used on a little less than half of all teams kinda worries me that it's a bit centralizing. It's not broken though, just good.

Also surprised to see bronzor and abra up so high, also USE PONYTA

Chinchou > Scraggy

the truest thing i have ever seen...

Charmander Dec 2nd, 2011 5:58:54 PM

Very surprised Larvesta is rising in usage. Any role it can play is pretty much inferior to other Fire-types (mostly Ponyta) and U-turn scouting is better played by Mienfoo. Seeing as Snover is way down at #22, Larvesta doesn't have much to do :/

Other than that, not very surprising unfortunately.

Holy crap dat Bronzor jumping up another 5 spots. This thing is as bulky as fuck with Eviolite and has like 1 weakness. I predict a jump in Larvesta and Houndour next month ^^

Princess of Johto Dec 2nd, 2011 10:05:35 PM

The only thing that surprises me is Bronzor. Why is it #5? :o

Sure, it's really bulky, but it doesn't have any good recovery. But, it can set up SR and Dual Screens, and it can wall Drilbur very well. I'm predicting its usage will go down next month just because I don't like it :x

Ah, Mienfoo's #1 as usual, not really surprised. Great to see Bronzor on the rise, as it's a pretty decent tank for the current LC metagame. Dratini needs moar usage =(

Ray Jay Dec 5th, 2011 11:48:48 PM

Why are people using hippopotas without drilbur lol

AOPSUser Dec 6th, 2011 12:31:35 AM

2 people used Magikarp. Hmm...

Heysup Dec 6th, 2011 2:50:42 AM

Oh how the metagame's changed since I last showed my face on the ladder. Maybe I'll whip out my SS team and plow the ladder and reclaim #1 again.

Methmite Dec 6th, 2011 8:46:21 AM

I'm surprised Elevator Music's sadistic natu hasnt rised in usage. Or maybe its just me who can never break that thing.

Also: Missingno is #57.

blarajan Dec 6th, 2011 8:51:05 AM

The top 6 form a pretty decent team...

D4RR3N Dec 6th, 2011 8:56:30 AM

hmm clamperl is not even in top 30 despite being broken...

I tried that. Didn't work. I blame Bronzor.

metsrule158 Dec 6th, 2011 3:15:24 PM

This isn't exactly the thread to do it in, but I feel Sandstorm is definitely broken. Bronzor at #5 speaks to that, as it is practically the only good counter to Drilbur (Snover provides hail, which some teams hate; Slowpoke can't OHKO with Scald; Lileep doesn't synergize well with a lot of stuff; and that's pretty much everything that can even check a +2 Drilbur, which is pretty simple with Eviolite). Also, everything other than Bronzor can get Dignauted, which is actually pretty amazing with Drilbur. Yes, I know Sand + Dignaut is four Pokemon, but then you just have to add in Lileep and a Scraggy counter and you're done, as Drilbur lets you revenge kill basically anything as long as you have sand up.

Also, we should probably revive General Metagame Discussion/ make a new thread.

EDIT: Just played a match that I think shows how broken Drilbur is.
...

There's a forfeit after turn 26.

Hey that's my team 9.9

What the fuck was he doing, he should've seen that wynaut coming..
And I agree with Drilbur being broken, I think it sorta overcentralizes the metagame.

Typing from my phone; i apologize fOr errors.

Anyways. I disagree with that statement. I personally think that it's the fact that in he current lc meta, there are 3 viable set up sweeprs - being scraggy drilbur and shell smashers. As usage shows; scraggy is not Onlybone of the most dangerous vut also the most common. as such, most teams will carry 2 sometimes even 3 checks to scrags. Drilburs list of counters differs from that of scrag, so with the vast portion of the meta overtly prepared for scraggy drilbur is free to basivallly fqce roll teams. This is just my Theory anyway.

To clarify, i'm not downplaying the impact drilbur has o the meta, im just saying thay sometimes the meta just allowes for something otherwise manageble to be unstoppable.

That Being said, i predocta drop in scrag usage due mostly to ecerything and their brother ensuring heir team has multiple chevks for it.

I'm surprised to see Munchlax so high, especially with the prevalence of fighting types in the tier. I expect it to drop a lot this month.
