Hippowdon is pretty terrific. Huge base Defense, Slack Off, Roar, Stealth Rock, and Sand Stream makes it an extremely tough competitor to Groudon. Groudon could just dream of a reliable recovery move, haha. But on Politoed and Ninetales, I believe I am missing something out as well!
|
Oh yea, I know how good Hippo can be, but why lead with it when the #1 lead in ubers is Kyorge, which will most likely than not put you in a bad position from turn 1?
|
As Kyogre only leads 11% of the time, according to the Lead Usage. There are plenty of Pokemon that are walled by Hippowdon, such as Tyranitar, Arceus, and Blaziken, that have a higher spot in the Lead stats.
|
Ah, ok then, just wanted to know
|
Anytime, TrollFreak! ;) Also guys 1337 stats are there as well!
|
Hippolead vs. Kyogre aint so bad too. You deny Kyogre rain support this way and therefore Kyogre is easier to check (i.e. stuff like Dialga can now switch in without fear).
|
Yay ferrotroll is falling down the usage stats, so has groundon unfortunatly :(.
Those research weeks really affected the stats, like salamence being in the top 35 and landourus just appering outo nowhere. |

likely the Politoed and Ninetales are new players using their teams in ubers. I've seen a couple teams that do that. Sadly new players seem to default to ubers since they put uber legendaries in their teams >.> Thinks like Darkrai together with Politoed, etc
|
Sadly the Ubers ladder is a little lacking, and Ninetales and Politoed aren't such a surprise.
However I'm liking that 1337 Dialga ranking! Hopefully next time it will be first. |
| 20 | Politoed | 244 | 0.798% |
Either a) They used Swift Swim so they got forced to Ubers or b) More rain (probably not). That's just what I think, though. |
Moveset Statistics are here!
I am still very saddened to see that 27.3% of the time Darkrai is carrying Focus Sash. It wastes all of its sweeping potential.... |
Focus Sash Darkrai is really good actually. People forget that, as a lead, its sleeping and killing something is a distinct possibility against a variety of teams. Most notably against stall and balanced teams that lack powerful priority and/or very fast Pokemon.
I'm sure it is no foreign situation to lose one's Choice Scarf Palkia to a +2 Darkrai who held on by the tip of its sash; then, to find that there exists no faster Pokemon on one's team and you have to let something take a hit from a +2 Darkrai. Obviously Focus Sash fails in certain situations where Life Orb would succeed, like against Lum Tyranitar and Tank Ho-Oh. |
Really not liking Smeargle with 11% usage on the 1337 ranking...
|
How in hell did cotonee make it in to the 1337 stats, i can only imagine it was a joke or somthing. Unless we are witnessing the cotonee revolution. It makes me sick that ferrothon gets used so much.

What's the cutoff for 1337 in this months stats?

I want to say Ray jumped two places thanks to people wanting to test his event move (I know I dusted off my Ubers drive just to see "Rayquaza used V-Create! Ferrothorn fainted!) but two places is not that much. SD did serious work in the battles I used it where Lugia was not present, but nine times out of ten, there's the Great Wall, and they all have Ice Beam...
EDIT: Moveset statistics say very few people used SD or V-create at all. It could be a matter of people not knowing how to download the moves. Maybe they'll be included in the next PO update. Regardless, as long as Arceus exists, SD is going to remain that low for a while. Best Rayquaza IMO is mixed. |

Although we had the biggest amount of battles, I think the cutoff for 1337 remained 1200.

SJCrew, I disagree with that: Swords Dance Rayquaza has some very notable advantages over Extremekiller Arceus and I find myself using SD Rayquaza > SD Arceus quite often. For one, STAB Outrage is really good. Extremekiller Arceus is easily walled by Giratina while Rayquaza easily KOes Groudon with Outrage. Groudon also takes a lot more from Outrage than from ExtremeSpeed. Air Lock is also pretty cool, and prevents it from being revenge killed by Kabutops though that's kinda minor. However, it also lets it set up on Kyogre locked in anything but Ice Beam. Another huge advantage is the fact that you can use another Arceus form, as often I need an Arceus form to patch up some weaknesses.
|
STAB Outrage is really bad. The last thing you want to do with Ray is lock him into Outrage just to kill Giratina when you know Mewtwo is around the corner looking for a chance to Ice Beam. With SD, you should be using Dragon Claw over Outrage and using V-create as your effective killing move that way, you have a STAB that kills what it's supposed to and a pseudo-STAB that destroys walls.
Also, you can't disagree with SD Ray being low because of Arceus. That's a fact. Ray's V-create and Dragon STAB helps him get past stall, but not offense, and the fact that Arceus is so common on top of checking him only further dampens his game. We don't need to get into an Arceus vs Ray debate because that's not what this is about. The usage is right in front of us and tells us what we need to know: SD is the least used set by a significant margin while vanilla Arceus is higher than it's ever been.
