Nuzlocke Challenge Mk. II

For those of you who've previously taken on the Nuzlocke Challenge and were unsatisfied with the difficult of it here is a challenge for you.

Many of you have probably heard of a no pokecenter run before or even attempted one. I have seen many things posted about using an army of slaves and training up your starter and other such strategies. However, I want to push things one step further.

I want to challenge you all to complete the game without using a single pokemon center or self-initiated healing spot AND without purchasing any items to complete the game.

The only items that may be purchased in R/B/Y are the fresh water to access Saffron City and the entry fee for the Safari Zone. Other than that you may only use the items you find on the ground or that are given to you for FREE. And I should add, the Coin Case and related items count as currency and therefore no TMs may be obtained in this way. Nor can you purchase the beverages in Celadon to attain the related TMs.

This means that you can't simply train up an army of slaves because you won't have the resources to catch that many.

For the 2nd Generation games, i.e. G/S/C there are a couple healing spots that are simply unavoidable namely Mr.Pokemon at the start of the game, Kurt in Azalea Town, and Lance in Mahogany Town. In the case of these one must simply accept them as part of the story line.

I have already completed this challenge for both Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Crystal. For those of you willing to take on this challenge have at it. For those of you willing to see my runs as proof that I have done this feel free to check them out on my youtube account. youtube.com/bubbama

As for the rest of you who are already satisfied with the Nuzlocke Challenge I bid you adieu.

Hardest challenge in all of Pokémon:

Slow text speed, no hitting buttons before the text is fully displayed, no running shoes, no bike. Do the rest as you please. You will fail.

But you didn't say that the turbo button in emulators is disallowed...

^Emulators are banned on Smogon in general, so that's no issue.

Another layer of frustration to this: Use only the cheapest items of every kind. That means, Poké Balls for all captures and Potions for outside-battle healing.
