Ubers Potato Award

Original picture by Amastroph. Thanks, NixHex. Will be maintained by the Ubers mods.

A long while ago, the moderators of the Smogon Metagames were PMed by NixHex with an idea called "Poster of the Month". The activity is the thing that runs the subforum, and we wanted to give it a huge buff with this thread. Moreover, we did not forget about you, posters. We wish to recognise the excellent posters that keep this forum active and in high quality; therefore, I introduce you to Ubers' Poster of the Arbitrary Time Period (PotATp, but we'll call it Potato) award! The previous awards system was too hard to keep track of (especially in a time period of a month), so we decided to move to the Potato system. Every one or two weeks, the Ubers mod team will gather to declare the person who receives this award. Winning this award multiple times can lead to some other future awards, and probably some pretty pixels in your postbit.http://www.smogon.com/media/community/awards/what.pnghttp://www.smogon.com/media/communit.../community.png

What defines a good poster, you may ask? Well, I'll try to break down a list of criteria. Please note that this list is by no means exhaustive, but it should give you a good idea on how to succeed.
  • Make quality posts. Overall, your posts should be worth reading. Readers of your posts will gain insight about the topic at hand or the metagame in general. You participate in projects and help out in the Simple Questions / Answers thread. Your posts are coherent and to the point. Your posts are mature. I'm not saying you're a statue and you have to be stoic, but there is a place for humor. You know how to use it in moderation.
  • Know and follow the rules. You don't create new threads just to ask a question. You don't flame other users or act like an idiot. You don't whine about banning / unbanning stuff. You check to see if a thread about (insert Pokemon/Item/Move/whatever) has not already been made or is not already active. You don't necro bump posts.
  • Keep out of trouble. You don't have any active infractions.
If you can follow these simple rules and use your common sense, you are already on your way to being a Potato!

Are we taking in account last month or are we starting from now ? Good shit indeed, hope to see more activity.

So, after 4 long weeks, we have our first two Potatoes.
  • User: Hack He Must has been consistently active in our sub-forum. Well explained thoughts in posts such as this one or this one is exactly what we're looking for, and that's the reason for him being a potato.
  • User: Melee Mewtwo is pretty much in the same boat; he's been consistent and a very solid poster, as seen here, here and here.
Congratulations to both of you, my expectations are very high for you both.
