Happy discussion! |
Crap. I posted my thoughts on the main one. Ah well, I'll copy them over here and add some more.
Top 25 seems fine...wait a sec.... | 26 | Latias | 4143 | 7.564% | 3255 | 7.425% | | 30 | Latios | 2743 | 5.008% | 2109 | 4.811% | Okay, what? They got their Soul Dew back, one of them should at least be in like the Top 25. | 29 | Arceus-Steel | 2811 | 5.132% | 2190 | 4.996% | Arceus Steel didn't do too too bad, I just wish it was also in the Top 25 :/ | 51 | Lucario | 1036 | 1.891% | 815 | 1.859% | | 56 | Arceus-Electric | 927 | 1.692% | 698 | 1.592% | I still don't get why people use Lucario in Ubers, it's really not that great from what I've seen when facing it. Granted, I've never actually used it, but WHY is it above one of the best special sweepers, Arceus-Electric? | 84 | Politoed | 523 | 0.955% | 486 | 1.109% | | 85 | Arceus-Ice | 517 | 0.944% | 424 | 0.967% | Why do people use Politoed in Ubers? Just why? Arceus-Ice isn't that great either but it's not as much of a waste as Politoed. | 87 | empty | 504 | 0.920% | 0 | 0.000% | | 90 | Deoxys | 426 | 0.778% | 333 | 0.760% | | 91 | Heracross | 421 | 0.769% | 331 | 0.755% | | 92 | Landorus-Therian | 420 | 0.767% | 342 | 0.780% | | 105 | Arceus-Ground | 317 | 0.579% | 234 | 0.534% | I have nothing to say to this | 93 | Infernape | 417 | 0.761% | 355 | 0.810% | | 94 | Zoroark | 410 | 0.749% | 96 | 0.219% | | 98 | Swampert | 360 | 0.657% | 323 | 0.737% | | 99 | Gorebyss | 357 | 0.652% | 257 | 0.586% | O___O | 132 | Archeops | 165 | 0.301% | 146 | 0.333% | | 133 | Umbreon | 165 | 0.301% | 132 | 0.301% | | 136 | Raichu | 150 | 0.274% | 130 | 0.297% | | 139 | Arceus-Poison | 140 | 0.256% | 108 | 0.246% | | 145 | Arceus-Psychic | 127 | 0.232% | 95 | 0.217% | | 147 | Magikarp | 124 | 0.226% | 112 | 0.255% | | 156 | Qwilfish | 116 | 0.212% | 100 | 0.228% | Oh my goooooood | 183 | Ambipom | 76 | 0.139% | 73 | 0.167% | | 193 | Rhydon | 70 | 0.128% | 62 | 0.141% | Noooooo EDIT: Okay, I guess I should be a bit more serious then. The Top 25 honestly still looks fine to me: It represents the metagame fairly well. Placement is a bit weird. Sun teams did get buffed with Lati@s and Ho-oh yeah, but rain teams got all of those goodies from OU plus Lugia, even though the new OU Pokemon aren't too high besides Genesect. Ho-oh and Tyranitar should be up higher, due to Ho-oh getting Regenerator and Tyranitar getting the ability to own Lati@s. Blaziken should be lower honestly: I see it a lot and it's still fine but Ho-oh is honestly better in my eyes. Giratina-O's place is mainly cause of Mold Breaker Excadrill which can beat it. Hell yeah Terrakion! Genesect is surprisingly high considering it was released a few weeks back. Shaymin-Sky is pretty low for being one of the more notorious Ubers. Makes some sense cause there are better Pokemon to use, like Arceus-Grass, who is rising the ranks And seriously, why the hell are Lati@s and Arceus-Steel not in the Top 25? They are SO good in the current metagame. |
@TMG, tbh, most of those things are just from trolls/noobs who want to use their mewtwo in OU.
I agree though that lati@s should be higher, as with arceus steel and arceus electric. Honestly, I'm still pretty surprised groudon is that far behind kyogre. Hell guys, you just got REGENERATOR HO-OH AND A SOLID COUNTER TO KYOGRE if that's not a mallet in the face saying "use sun more" I don't know what is. I'm always quite surprised at how high darkrai is. Sure it gets a sleep move and great speed, but you're still smashed by every scarfer in the tier pretty much and it doesn't give you many useful resistances tbh. Maybe I can't give a very accurate judgement seeing as I've never used it on my team or played anyone skillful with it. Kyurem-W still seems a little low, but I guess everything above it has a pretty solidly cemented spot in ubers. |
I think people are still chickening out from sun because they don't want to deal with that major stealth rock weakness. Magic Bounce, an extremely underrated method of preventing stealth rocks makes sun a dangerous team to play against.
|
Actually, Groudon resists Stealth Rock, unlike Ninetales in OU, but the fact is, sun doesn't get a spinner that benefits from the weather, unlike Exca in sand and Tentacruel in rain. Also, there aren't too many Chlorophyll abusers viable in Ubers, comounding the SR weakness.
|
Groudon is not even a major sun abuser - it just summons the sun. Things like Reshiram and the newly improved ho-oh have a lot of trouble with stealth rocks.

July 2012
| 87 | Charizard | 198 | 0.798% | 124 | 0.837% | August 2012 | 81 | Charizard | 535 | 0.977% | 435 | 0.992% | http://i.somethingawful.com/u/garbag...heLoons_03.png |
| 96 | Whimsicott | 370 | 0.676% | 320 | 0.730% |
| 220 | Jumpluff | 52 | 0.095% | 44 | 0.100% | I'm in a whole new dimension of mad right now. I guess this is what I get for not laddering for a month. Also, Ferro overtook Forry again. I was hoping Forry would reclaim his old spot as the king of hazards but I guess not. |
| 13 | Giratina | 8132 | 14.846% | 6312 | 14.399% |
| 18 | Giratina-Origin | 6431 | 11.741% | 5015 | 11.440% | | 21 | Arceus-Ghost | 5123 | 9.353% | 3862 | 8.810% | Just noting this is the SECOND time this has happened. I think the new metagame favors Giratina-a a lot more then the last one, its probably due to Ho-oh's and Excadrill's rising popularity (oh cmon you know you hate mold breaker) yet ironically... | 14 | Excadrill | 7539 | 13.764% | 5717 | 13.042% | | 15 | Tyranitar | 7043 | 12.858% | 6421 | 14.648% | | 16 | Ho-Oh | 6999 | 12.778% | 5565 | 12.695% | It appears the main three things its supposed to lower the effectiveness of has gone down O_O. | 71 | Tornadus-Therian | 658 | 1.201% | 508 | 1.159% | | 72 | Xatu | 657 | 1.199% | 497 | 1.134% | Why did Xatu and Tornadus start decreasing all of a sudden, they were so useful in breaking spikes stacking offense earlier, I mean look at the earlier stats | 50 | Tornadus-Therian | 497 | 2.003% | 274 | 1.849% | | 51 | Xatu | 481 | 1.938% | 263 | 1.775% | Lastly | 60 | Kabutops | 413 | 1.664% | 235 | 1.586% | | 37 | Kabutops | 1725 | 3.149% | 1104 | 2.518% | What made Kabutops increase so much 0_0, is it just THAT good of a rapid spinner now? |

Now onto my own observations. | 14 | Excadrill | 7539 | 13.764% | 5717 | 13.042% | | 15 | Tyranitar | 7043 | 12.858% | 6421 | 14.648% | | 16 | Ho-Oh | 6999 | 12.778% | 5565 | 12.695% | Excadrill and Tyranitar this high are indicative of how popular Sand is getting. I've been playing on the ladder and a well played sand team is very hard to break tbh. Sashtars are very annoying for Terrakions >_> Lastly, Ho-Oh desrves more usage imo, its bulk is fucking unparalleled in the game and Regenerator is superb. | 22 | Deoxys-Speed | 5108 | 9.326% | 4829 | 11.016% | This speed demon needs to get more love. Its the best offense hazards layer in the game and is quite useful now that Giratina-O usage is dipping. |
Latias 26? I expected like 15.

Also yeah I thought as well that Latias would be higher up in the charts, seeing as it has major power against Kyogre. |
Ubers ladder always baffles me
Ie I expected chomp to have higher usage rating |
September stats are up guys, thanks for reading.
