Round 3: Leethoof of the Harbingers vs. jas61292 of jassmashpwn

Rules:
-5v5 Triples (Positioning OFF)
-ASB Arena
-All Abilities
-No Items
-5 recovers/5 chills
-2 Substitutions
-2 Day DQ for battlers
-2/3 Day DQ for refs (explained later)
-Self-KO clause; in the event of a double KO to end the match, the Pokemon that KOed itself through whatever means (self-KOing move, energy exhaustion, etc) loses.
-Each player tells the ref whether they would rather play Switch=KO or Switch=OK. If both players agree then that rule is chosen; otherwise, a coinflip is used to determine what the switch rules will be.
-Players send out their first Pokemon simultaneously via PM. First order is decided via coinflip.

Hello, and welcome to ASB Tournament Arena. A bunch of fans paid a little bit of money (UC fund) to be here, and to bring me here.

And me!

Alright, none of your wisecrack or I'll send you back to your Pokeball.

Can I introduce the teams?

Sure?

On the left side, from the Rocky Mountains, future Rock-type gym leader alongside SevenDeadlySins, and Triples player of the Harbingers, it's LEETHOOF!

And on the other side, the guy who is very active in CAP, the father of Tomahawk, from Fortree City some place I don't know of, the Triples player of jassmashpwn, it's JAS61292!

And now both contestants send me PMs detailing their leading squad, then I RNG turn order.

This isn't the way it normally works.

*shuts up*

Let's make the best of this rather unfortunate, Cradily-unfriendly situation, team. Go go plan Delta Epsilon Form 1244-subsection G16, step 2.8.

Reef: Sandstorm -> Earth Power (Ike)
If you are Taunted, then use Earth Power (Ike)
If Ike is Protected/Evasivied when you are targetting him, use Rock Slide.

Siege: Drill Run (Ike) -> Drill Run (Ike)
If Ike is Protective/Evasivfied, then use Hammer Arm (Blaster)
If Reflect is up, then use Brick Break (Blaster). Precedence here.

Jet: Taunt (Hatchet) -> Aerial Ace (Hatchet)
If you are Taunted, change actions to Aerial Ace (Hatchet) -> Fire Fang (Ike).
If Hatchet uses Protective/Evasive, then use Fire Fang (Ike).

Just as an fyi, I noticed the description of download on Porygon-Z is off. It should say boost SpA on a tie, not Atk. Anyways:

Tomohawk: Sky Drop (Cradilly) - Grass Knot (Rhyperior)

Lucario: Aura Sphere (Cradilly) - Drain Punch (Rhyperior)

Porygon-Z: Ice Beam (Cradilly) - Solar Beam + Solar Beam Combo (Rhyperior)

The round begins with a Taunt from Jet that hits Hatchet. Hatchet is not all bothered, and decides to lift Reef in the air. Ike uses Aura Sphere on Reef, and Blaster uses Ice Beam on Reef.

http://cap.smogon.com/Sprites/frontnormal-mcyclohm.png
Just as things look bad for Leethoof, they begin to look even worse, as Reef cannot stir up a Sandstorm, because it is dangling from Hatchet's talons. Siege uses Drill Run on Ike, and Hatchet uses Sky Drop on Reef.

Jet decides to attack Hatchet with Aerial Ace, as Ike uses Drain Punch on Siege. Hatchet uses Grass Knot on Siege, and Blaster begins charging its laser.

Reef uses Earth Power on Ike, and Siege uses Drill Run on Ike. Then...

Blaster proceeds to do 71.5 damage with...

If Cradilly uses Endure, change action 2 to Hidden Power Ice (Aerodactyl)

I don't intend to give up Cradily quite yet...

Reef: Sandstorm -> Protect
Ra: Helping Hand (Jet) -> Rock Polish
Jet: Sky Attack Combo (Hatchet) -> Cooldown (Sky Drop Ike)

So here we have it. Ra uses a Helping Hand on Jet, who charges up an attack. Ike and Hatchet both Aura Sphere Reef, who sets up Sandstorm. Jet then unleashes his Sky Attack combo on Hatchet, who then faints.

While Reef uses Protect, Ike uses Feint to blast through the Protect. Jet must recharge, and Blaster Ice Beams Jet. Ra uses a Rock Polish.

A couple minor errors:
Tomohawk only has Rank 4 SpA, so Cradily should have a bit more HP.
Sandstorm reduces the damage of Ice Beam against Aerodactyl.
Tomo has R4 defence, so Cradily got the KOC (with sandstorm) on Tomohawk.

Octillery will come out next.

AOPSUser Oct 1st, 2012 8:50:15 PM

Not yet, either...

Ra: Rock Slide -> Rock Slide
If a mon uses Toxic (Reef) AND you did not use Protect last action, then use Protect (Reef).
Jet: Rock Slide -> Rock Slide
If a mon uses Toxic (Reef) AND Ra used Protect last action, then use Protect (Reef).

Luke: ExtremeSpeed + ExtremeSpeed Combo (Cradilly) - Cooldown

Boggle, take to the stage in style!

Jet: Sky Drop (Oddity) -> Rock Slide
Boggle: Brick Break (Ike) -> Drain Punch + Revenge Combination (Blaster)

The round begins with Jet taking Oddity into the sky. Ra uses Psywave on Ike. Ike, meanwhile, attempts to Heal Pulse Oddity, but Oddity is still in the sky. Oddity tries to use Psychic, but it is in the sky. Blaster uses Psychic on Boggle, who smashes through jas's Reflect with Brick Break, KOing Ike.

Then Jet comes down, right on top of Oddity. That's gotta hurt.

Jet and Ra then spam Rock Slide, but this time no one is flinched. Blaster uses Psychic on Boggle, who seems not to care. Oddity uses Ice Beam on Boggle, who again seems not to care. But then, Boggle uses a Drain Punch+Revenge combo, KOing Blaster!

Dude, you forgot Moody.

We have a lead, but we could lose it very quickly if we don't play this carefully...Keep up the good work, my friends!

Boggle: Cooldown (Ice Punch [Roosevelt]) -> Super Fang (Roosevelt)
If Roosevelt uses Fly A2, then use Suckery Ice Punch.
If Roosevelt is in the air A2 (ie he flew up on A1), then use Double Team (4 Clones).
Jet: Stone Edge (Oddity) -> Chill
If Oddity uses Protect, use Ice Fang (Roosevelt), pushing actions down, but not consecutively.
If Roosevelt is also Protected when you will attack him, use chill, pushing actions down.
Ra: Psychic (Oddity) -> Chill
If Oddity is Protected, use Will-o-Wisp (Roosevelt), pushing actions down.
If Roosevelt is in the evasive part of Fly when you would attack him, use chill.

Welp.... not good. Lets just try not to fail miserably. I like the positions of my teammates, so I am not going to stress out too much over something that is not really possible to get out of. That being said, if we get some luck hax... well, who knows?

Well, here we are. This is ASB arena.

Damn right it is. I'm excited that the Sandstorm is going away soon!

But before that, the round!

The round begins with Oddity Protecting against...nothing. Jet uses a quick Ice Fang on Roosevelt, who flies into the air. Boggle must recharge, while Ra simply Chills. Roosevelt then lands right on top of Boggle. Ouch!

Sand flying around!

Then, Jet uses Stone Edge on Oddity, while Roosevelt uses a Rock Slide. The attack deals some widespread minor damage, although it is enough to KO Boggle. Ra Chills again, and Oddity uses Waterfall on Jet.

And the Sand subsides...

Yay.

Aww, no more 100 BAP Special Rock-typed move...

Oh yeah. Moody.

So once more I need to order, and once more I don't know what to do. Lets hope this works/my teammates can bail me out if it doesn't.

Octillery: Endure - Waterfall(Solrock)If Octillery is shielded by a protective move action 2, target Aerodactyl.
If you are targeting Aerodactyl action 2 and it is shielded by a protective move, Focus Energy that action instead

Salamence: Aqua Tail (Solrock) - Rock Slide
If Solrock uses Reflect action 1 and is not shielded by a protective move action 2, Brick Break (Solrock) action 2
If Solrock is shielded by a protective move action 1, target Aerodactyl instead

AOPSUser Nov 11th, 2012 12:01:57 PM

You can't use a combo during Endure. Please fix.
