Smogon Grand Slam - Season 1 Finals [Won by Ciele]
 

After months of fierce competition, we have finally arrived to the finals of the inaugural Smogon Grand Slam! Before we get things going, I'd like to extend a huge thanks to the five hosts, JabbaTheGriffin, bojangles, Oglemi, Zebraiken, and Aerrow. I'd also like to give an enormous thanks to Vinc2612 for all the time he spent updating the onsite Grand Slam points. Finally, Zracknel deserves enormous props for all the amazing work he put into producing art for the Grand Slam, including the amazing work you can see in this thread! This season would not have been possible without these seven upstanding gentlemen, so be sure to thank them when you get the chance!

Since there was a three way tie for the last two spots of the finals, Heist, Malekith, and Nelson-X are going to have a quick round-robin, best-of-five (UU, Ubers, RU, NU, and LC of course) mini playoff series to decide decide who gets these seeds. The winner of the the playoff will earn the 7th seed, while the runner-up nabs the 8th seed.

The deadline for the Preliminary Playoff is November 8th at 11:59 p.m. EST. All Round 1 matches must be complete by November 17th at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Finalists will play each other in a best-of-five series in the five Grand Slam metagames. Tier lists are now locked for the entirety of the finals. Since we're in the middle of a few suspect tests and tier shifts, I thought I'd just clarify that OHKO moves are banned in Ubers, and Cresselia / Durant are banned in RU. Check out this post for the complete tier lists.
