I don't see why we have to consider that. Only Crystal was unplayable on GB, and it wasn't remade. Honestly, R/S remakes would be weird unless they revamp the mechanics of stats, thus making backwards compatibility impossible*. All of the legendaries are easily available in previous games.

*I kind of wish this happens, not gonna lie.

What will the remake give us though, we already have 3rd gen pokemon compatabile with the original ruby/sapphire, most houen pokes have their dw abilities already too. I'd love a remake of the Coliseum/XD lines or a sequel but theres really not much to do with a remake of ruby and sapphire, besides maybe my slow start Slaking

Well, I wasn't saying there had to be a remake, I was just saying that it is likely. So many people have been like, "OMG pokemon XY?! No R/S remake f*** you GameFreak!!!" I agree though, Such a remake wouldn't really bring much to the table. An XD/Coliseum remake on Wii U would be epic, and might actually happen.

People are really saying that? Wouldn't they rather a brand new game than a remake of a game they've already played? I swear, some people will never be happy.

I disagree Inanimate blob, This is kinda its on unique thing. I for one think that a ruby/sapphire game is due, however, it isn't necessary and would just be another 40 hours of my life (and 40 dollars) wasted on Pokemon games.

I dont have an issue with remakes, if they remade Coliseum I'm sure that they would add more shadow pokemon to allow for more customization when making your Orre team, it would offer a new experience that forgives the fact that all of the pokemon in orre are already available, Houen great as it is wont offer that, and will just be player A beating 8 gym leaders beating some team (Houen in particular has the worst team enemy) and fighting your rival (Houen also has the worst rival not including Wally), its nothing worth the effort, I want my slow start slaking but I'm not going to pay for a new game for it

While they might remake Ruby / Sapphire at some point, nothing's been announced about it, so there's really nothing to discuss here :/
