actually the real challenge and acceptance were so horrible that even posting them here is embarrasing And the Water Gym Leader is challenged again! And again by the Electric Gym Leader. For those who didn't know, Dogfish44 was the first one to challenge Athenodoros's Gym. By then it was a best of three match. While Dogfish had type advantage and the actions advantage, Athenodoros haxed the bajeesus out of him on the first round and secured a victory on the first match. The second match was also a victory for Athenodoros (with no hax that time) and Dogfish ended up losing 0-2 and leaving empty handed. Also, it was hilarious and we laughed on and on for months hahahah. Anyway, Dogfish is back for vengeance. With the change on Illuminate and a singles format, the chance for a single haxy turn screwing up everything has dropped considerably, so he actually has a good shot at victory. Pay special attention for Short Fuse, Dogfish's signature pokemon, as its immense movepool can make quite a difference. But don't count Athenodoros out! There was a reason why Atheno's Gym took so long to be challenged and only was by Gym Leaders and Candidates. Athenodoros is a veteran player and regarded as one of the very best, provided he doesn't make any glaring mistakes (something that unfortunately happens more commonly than we would want...but hopefully, this won't happen this and we will see a nice battle going on). Pay special attention to Poseidon a mon that, as the Gym Leader says, "always gets the job done". It's ability to completely shut down Dogfish's signature mon and the ability to abuse the arena may prove to make quite a difference. BUT ENOUGH BABBLING, LET US COMMENCE THIS GREAT AND HOPEFULLY NOT THAT HAXXY BATTLE! Let's check out the mons. Gym Leader

Looking forward to this.
http://cap.smogon.com/Sprites/frontn...mkrilowatt.png @ Enigma Berry Also, Imma be afk for a week starting Wednesday. Sorry it's just at the start of our match, but hopefully we can get posting quickly and I can get my actions up before I go. Otherwise, just fill in something brilliant but missing something obvious for me. |
Sorry for the delay...

Alright, I'm off the ocean and kind of available. A bit.
Also, didn't really read the OP before I went but it's cool. Totally using that as my acceptance post from now on. Double Team (4 Clones) ~ Thunder ~ Dive |

The Gym Leader sends out his Krillowatt Actaea to start the match on the right foot with its neutrality to Electric, a good trait to have when you face the Electric Gym Leader. Also, does Atheno have a frigging plantation of Enigma Berries? But Dogfish was prepared for that and sends out Tango the Ludicolo. Being immune to the hazard of this arena and sporting a nice grass typing, Ludicolo is a very good choice against a Gyarados-less Water Gym Leader. I heard he is preparing a Tentacruel for that, but it isn't around, so the Gym Leader may have some problems dealing with Ludicolo. But I digress. Actaea starts the battle by using its superior speed to create 4 clones with Double Team. One of the clones were promptly destroyed by Tango's first Giga Drain, which Missed the real one entirely. On the following turn, Actaea goes to offensive mode by attacking Tango with Thunder for half-decent damage. Krillowatts do have the problem of not packing a punch when hitting neutrally. Tango tries to attack the real one again, but hits one more time a Clone with Mega Drain. Dogfish is probably getting piiiiiissed!!! Finally, on the last turn, Actaea+2 clones Dive to escape Tango's Giga Drain and proceed to attack for laughable damage haha. All this ruckus destroyed the ice platform, but both mons are water-typed, so they didn't have any problem swimming towards another platform to carry on the battle.

Being unable to use drain attacks and facing those dastardly clones, Tango is forced to attack with Bubble to disperse them all. Bubble, really? No Razor Leaf, Not even a lousy surf? Erm...anyway, let's carry on. The shrimp continues his assault with Thunder taking yet another piece of Tango's valuable hp. The Ludicolo, needing to get rid of those pesky enigma berries, opts to attack with a not that strong Hidden Power Ground for half decent damage and forcing Actaea to eat a half of the Enigma Berry. Finally, Actaea attacks again with Thunderbolt, just before being hit by an Absorption beam of sorts, which heals Tango a bit, hurts Krillowatt a bit and forces it to eat the rest of the enigma berry. Right now the challenger is not in a good position. Despite the type advantage, the difference in hp, the clones of the other side, torment and the lack of natural grass means that Ludicolo isn't hurting as hard as it should be, while Krillowatt is. Dogfish needs to get his act together and start doing some damage here, or else he may meet up with Davy Jones!

I'll stay in for this round. No water type faces well against Mowtom.

I beg to differ. Ludicolo can tank his hits somewhat and counterattack with Ice Beam. You should totally get one eventually, you know?

Round 3 Having no luck thus far, the challenger tries a different approach and calls back Tango, sending out then Pulse the Rotom-Mower with Expert Belt. Not wanting to feel that dratted pain, Actaea sets up an Imprisoning force field and stops any opponent from using Hidden Power, Discharge and Double Team. Speaking on Hidden Power, Pulse tries that to no avail :(. On the second turn, Actaea gives another display of courage as it Dives underwater and manages to escape Rotom's Barrage of dead leaves stores on his back. Leaf Storm missed! Also, due to the effort to launch that attack, Pulse's SpA was lowered two stages. For naught I may add. Some time later, Actaea pops up and attacks Pulse with Dive. Finally, Actaea just Chill after a stall well done and Pulse just forgets Hidden Power and attacks with Struggle. And nothing got actually done this round >_<;. Actaea is drawing circles around Dogfish's team and is pretty much with full hp (only 16hp lost). But it is slowly running out of steam. Will Atheno's stalling tactics continue to be effective or will he need a different approach? Only time and the next turns will tell.

Round 4 Actaea starts this round by sending an Ice Beam towards Pulse for half decent damage. Íf you raw power, go pester another pokemon, I guess. And it didn't freeze to boot! Meanwhile, the Rotom uses a 15hp substitute, probably forseeing pain in the future. And the future is now! Rotom opens his secret leaves compartment and unleashes a mighty Leaf Storm + Leaf Storm combo! Will it hit? Will it miss? OMG aaaannnddd iiiiiit ..... did ..... oh my god it ....
