  • i entered my seed and changed it to method k, but nothing....nature and ability are both set to "any"
AH! That may be the problem! I don't know how to check what frame I've hit when abusing stationary legends in HG. How do I check the frame I've hit (I don't see it on the RNG reporter).

(also, I've calibrated and my delay is 494 - so thats out of the way)
    You wanted it here so...

I am currently RNG abusing for a Bold HP Grass 70 Zapdos in Heart Gold with the following Spread (HP/Atk/Def/SAtk/SDef/Spe)
    31/14/31/30/31/31

I used JavaRNG to find this spread, I then went into RNG reporter's Seed Finder, hit open, entered the spread and correct nature, and it gave me my seed. I took note of what seed I picked, entered that into the Seed to Time function, slected HG/SS and put it 50 seconds (like in your video). I set my DS to the correct time and date (1 minute before) and then entered the information into Pika Timer. I created a timer, but was inaccurate, so entered an "other delay" and got my Elm calls all correct on the 1st try after. This Zapdos is the one right outside the powerplant. Raikou, Entei, and Latias have all been killed.

So, instead of getting Bold, I got Adamant. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hey dude, I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch since you sent me your comments. It's been crazy on my end preparing to go to Japan (moving there next month) while also wrapping up my summer Chinese class. I got the Chinese class out of the way though (had the final this last friday) so I got the time now to get started on the formatting. I'll keep you updated-- I feel bad dragging my feet after you got me all your stuff so quickly!

Anyway, maybe I can pick your brain with some RNG questions later too? :P I can't seem to figure out how to use pikatimer for instance . . . lol
I've been trying again and though I seem to have a pretty stable frame, I can't seem to land it. I've been trying PikaTimer, and more often than not it's nowhere even close to my target, so much so that I can't even find the spread I get. Do you recommend not using PikaTimer?
Haha alright well in that case perhaps the calm rain dish shiny lotad I'm working on (comes with leech seed, people are gonna hate this thing on uu wifi)
Success! Thanks for the advice, this afternoon I was fortunate enough to hatch a Modest Volt Absorb Chinchou with 31/30/31/30/31/31 IVs for BP 70 HP Grass, and as thanks I want you to have a clone of it at some point. Here's hoping I can get the hang of this haha.
Hey, thanks for being so helpful so far. At this point I'm at a somewhat stable (around 66%) frame of 2, target frame 16, and I can hit the target frame with relative consistency, and I've even gotten down to delays within 2 of my target. Do you have any tips for hitting the target delay or is it just luck at that point?
Sorry to ask so many questions, but do you have a percentage you like to hit before you start SRing? Thanks.
Alright, will do haha. Is there a target percentage of frames being the same during calibration that you aim for to establish it as "stable enough", like if 75% of rounds of calibration result in the same frame?
Okay, so I loaded my game and saved again to advance the frame, and I did 16 rounds of frame calibration (a bit excessive, maybe, but necessary) and once again got interesting results: 5 6 6 4 6 6 6 6 5 4 6 5 6 5 5 5. The four 6's in a row suggested frame 6 at the time but I don't feel so secure now. What do you suggest for getting a more stable frame? Should I load the game, let it run on its own for a few minutes, then save again and try over?
I freakin hate misclicks, thats why there was an EQ on Uxie, a freaking misclick
Yeah, I thought that might end up being the best idea. Would it be alright if I asked more questions as they come up? I know it can be irritating when a noob just doesn't get it but this is tough (at least at first, dunno about later). Additionally, should I not be starting out with this kind of RNG abuse, HP based or otherwise? You mention in your video that this is probably the hardest kind of RNG abuse, and I don't doubt you on that one haha.
That's the weird part: both of the first two pages have a caught pokemon on them. Also, when recalibrating to account for AR, though I got a beautiful initial calibration (16 sec, 594-608 delay) the frame calibration is going crazy. My results after 10 checks have been 7, 7, 7, 4, 7, 6, 4, 5, 5, 4. Should I keep checking to find something consistent, or is there something obvious that I'm missing?
Hey, bearsfan092, I'm new to the RNG and I was watching your YouTube videos for help in my Pt cart (very informative). As of right now I'm redoing the frame calibration, as I have the right egg at the day care, but I'm having trouble SRing for the final result. In your video you get the perfect Togekiss, but you count the initial page of the journal as a page flip, though the Smogon guide says not to. You got the result, however, so I'm inclined to go with your word. Any advice for a dude new to the RNG, in that case?
Could I have brought the wrong flygon (there was one I made before I knew about illegal trainer SID/PIDs)? Otherwise I can't think of anything . . . I did record it on R4 though so I have my version too.
