  1. DP Tier Discussion - BL and UU (mark 2)

The original damage calcs were off slightly (I made a typo in my calculations, using 453 attack instead of 463), but those are Jolly with Choice Band. Adamant would push some of those into 2HKO range with Stealth Rock. Of course, by switching to Adamant, you also risk being outrun and...
  2. DP Tier Discussion - BL and UU (mark 2)

My gut reaction is that Aerodactyl is too strong for UU, but after doing the damage calculations, I'm not so sure. (All are max attack, Jolly, with Choice Band.) Rock Slide vs. 304 HP/440 Def Cloyster: 57.2 - 67.4% Rock Slide vs. 244 HP/572 Def Shuckle: 55.3 - 65.2% Rock Slide vs. 362 HP/328...
  3. UU -- Are we really using the best?

I haven't used it in a long time, and I only had mixed success when using it before (probably due to me being a horrible battler at the time instead of merely bad), but I've always thought a Wring Out/Brine Omastar could work. Something like... Omastar @ Life Orb Modest / EVs: 72 HP / 252 Sp...
  4. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 12

Does using an Everstone while breeding have an effect over which ability is passed down to the eggs like it does with nature?
  5. Total Revamp of the OU Tier List. READ!

Dedicating 1/3 of your team to one moveset of one of 50 OU Pokemon doesn't seem a little ridiculous to you?
  6. DP Tier Discussion Thread - BL and UU

My only problem with this is that movesets are never banned: Pokemon are. If the moveset makes the Pokemon too powerful for a tier, the Pokemon is too powerful for the tier. (See: Manaphy)
  7. DP Tier Discussion Thread - BL and UU

I hate to quote myself, but I REALLY think Crobat needs some discussion and I have seen almost none involving it. Whether you agree or disagree, it needs some talk.
  8. Blissey's Set

Probably want to try that first. If you don't like that, you can go for another one. For example, I used to run Blissey @ Leftovers Bold / EVs: 148 HP / 252 Defense / 104 Sp. Atk / 4 Speed Ability: Serene Grace - Substitute - Charge Beam - Ice Beam - Softboiled and it worked great. Charge Beam...
  9. DP Tier Discussion Thread - BL and UU

Crobat should definitely be in BL. Base 130 speed means it outspeeds all but a handful of UU Pokemon without a +Speed nature. With one, it is outsped only by scarfers and Electrode. It has above average defenses (85/80/80) and good typing (three 4x resists and one immunity) to go along with...
  10. What is better: Scyther or Scizor?

Scyther is a great UU sweeper (too many Bug resists and too many Pokemon with >105 speed in OU) while Scizor has many options in OU (Baton Passing, walling, sweeping). I plan on using a Jolly CB Scyther with U-turn/Aerial Ace/Brick Break/Pursuit on my UU team and one day working the Swords...
  11. Machamp just used what?

I missed the Trick Room mention, but I'd expect most Skarm users to either Drill Peck/Brave Bird, Spikes/Stealth Rock or Roost in that order. I can't imagine one using Whirlwind unless Spikes/SR had already been fully setup. Well, I can't consider anything with Life Orb bulky to begin with. With...
  12. Machamp just used what?

I would run Naughty instead of Brave and go with 112 HP / 252 Attack / 20 Defense / 124 Speed for the EVs. That minimizes Life Orb damage (349 HP means 34 taken away by Life Orb), still maximizes attack and lets you outspeed Skarmory so it doesn't Brave Bird/Drill Peck you before you finish it...
  13. Best U-turn user?

Scyther is my favorite U-turn user. 110 base Attack, 105 base Speed and STAB makes for a great combo. Although as long as Stealth Rock is on the field...
  14. Post new creative movesets/EV spreads here:

Blissey @ Leftovers Serene Grace Bold / EVs: 148 HP / 252 Def / 104 Sp. Atk / 4 Speed - Substitute - Charge Beam - Ice Beam - Softboiled Sub helps you scout/lock-in choice users and other physical attackers. It helps you against status (which you need without Natural Cure) and blocks Pain...
  15. What do you think about this?

They don't cancel out. Guts completely ignores the attack drop from burn.
  16. New mixed Electivire set

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean using Pursuit on Electivire (I know it doesn't get Pursuit), I meant on the same team as Electivire. Since you mentioned other options to support the set in the first post, I think Pursuit deserves a mention too.
  17. New mixed Electivire set

I like this set a lot more than the standard one. Two issues with the analysis though: 1. If Bronzong takes 53.55% min from Flamethrower, that's a guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers. Might want to change that. 2. I think that a Pursuit user should be mandatory when using this set so that you can...
  18. CBZ -- The Ultimate Counter to Blissey and Special Walls

Close. Dark/Fighting is resisted by Toxicroak. Ghost/Fighting is resisted by nothing. Porygon-Z @ Life Orb Quiet / EVs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Special Attack Ability: Adaptability Facade Shadow Ball Hidden Power Fighting Tri-Attack/Sleep Talk Switch it into Blissey and absorb the Thunder Wave...
  19. List with the most used Pokemon in the new metagame, based in the RTM Subforums

Well, that's one. They're not very common anyways. But I had several people ask if it was uber on Shoddy when I used it. Then again, none of those people were from Smogon. I remember one guy forfeited the battle crying "fucking ubers" after my Shaymin 2HKOed his Electivire with Seed Flare.
  20. List with the most used Pokemon in the new metagame, based in the RTM Subforums

People are probably avoiding Shaymin because there are so few E4 glitch ones available for trade and no one knows if/when they'll be released. Also, people are dumb.
