  1. GBU Battle videos

You guys played the same guy (koyomi)! Definitely am surprised by either Chandelure's bulk or Weavile's lack of power in the Beat Up used vs. Chandelure (soul_survivor's game) and Abomasnow's bulk in surviving a Helping Hand Dark Gem Sucker Punch from Druddigon (Solace's game).
  2. The Single Battle Metagame (GBU)

A Modest 252 SpA, Choice Spec'd Gastrodon will 2HKO a SpD natured 252 HP / 252 SpD Ferrothorn with Earth Power after a Storm Drain boost, so Gastrodon can effectively stop a Ferrothorn on a Rain team if you correctly predict and eat a Water move. Scenario sometimes goes like...
  3. The Single Battle Metagame (GBU)

Been seeing more and more Speed Boost Sharpedo lately, usually on Rain teams. Can do around 44-52% with a Rain boosted Life Orb Aqua Jet to a 252 HP EV Conkledurr before Mach Punch lands, so there is still some danger present if you're trying to counter with a Fighting Pokemon/move.
  4. Terrakion

Singles sets In singles, I usually see stuff along the lines of: Terrakion @ Focus Sash / Choice Band / Choice Scarf 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe Adamant / Jolly Nature - Stone Edge - Close Combat - Quick Attack - Swords Dance / Double Kick I always see Quick Attack being used...
  5. Get your Priorities Straight - an OU guide to priority attacks (GP 2/2)

Maybe worth noting that if you use Sucker Punch on a faster Pokemon with another +1 priority attack the Sucker Punch fails. Also under the mechanics of Trick Room, if two Pokemon with +1 priority moves attack each other, the slower of the two hits first.
  6. The Double Battle Metagame (GBU)

I'm very new to doubles and was wondering if it be viable to run a moveset of Imprison, Protect, and Trick Room on a faster Pokemon like Chandelure/Gardevoir in an attempt to shut down the use of said moves? Does Imprison only hit 1 target or does it hit their whole team? Been running into both...
  7. Mamoswine

This scenario is very likely as Garchomp and Metagross seemed to be conjoined at the hip in GBU singles, thankfully with some prediction you can handle at least one of the two while leaving the other damaged for hopefully a Pokemon you have in reserve to clean up. First off, I thought an...
  8. The Single Battle Metagame (GBU)

Just to add on to Magicxgame's nice post, here are a couple of Pokemon I find I run into that weren't mentioned. I started playing GBU Singles at the start of Season 2 and am fluctuating in the 1700 rating area after ~300 some games. An addition to Magicxgame's Conkledurr entry: it seems like...
