  1. NU Permanent Weather Starter Experiment (updated with part 2)

For sun and rain you guys are really off base. You guys really need to look at what pokemon are: not weak to stealth rock, not weak to pursuit, is bulky, and loses a weakness in whatever weather or resists the boosted weather. For example, Amoongus is great in rain. It is super bulky, has...
  2. Research Week #2: Smeargle, Drifblim, Vileplume

Goin with double hazards and whirlwind smeargle. too strong. Alt: My Time to Shine
  3. RU Stage 6 - np: Renegade

The problem with Drapion is that he isn't great in any playstyle. He's good in stall, providing toxic spikes and counters to stall breakers, but he has no recovery and gets worn down easily. He seems like a decent stallbreaker, but he just isn't that powerful, even at +2. a pokemon like...
  4. RU Research Week #1: Hariyama, Whimsicott, Cradily

So the only one of these I have used seriously is Cradily. I was using a rain team i needed something to set up on the uber walls like Munchlax that even +2 Gorebyss couldn't kill. I used a curse set, I thought it was the standard curse set, it made the most sense to me, but i guess it is...
  5. February Usage Stats

So what does Hitmonlee actually do in UU? I mean, it doesn't even do anything in RU, so why do people use it in higher tiers?
  6. Counter that RU Pokemon! Community Teambuilder - Heysup vs. Pearl.

Double01's Absol. Right now sub cm uxie wrecks our team. With only three more slots, teams need to start anticipating the threats, not just
  7. Counter that RU Pokemon! Community Teambuilder - Heysup vs. Pearl.

Double01 Primeape always seems too underwhelming, and i think scarfers should always be picked last on a team
  8. RU Stage 6 - np: Renegade

I love how RU is becoming more and more favorable to stall. If only Cofagrigus would get banned, I could have the perfect stall team!
  9. np: RU Stage 5 - Dark Side of the Moon

I have tried out sun before, and i have never really been successful at all. It seems to me like all they have to do is switch to a honchkrow or absol and you lose. How are sun teams supposed to out priority these guys or live sucker punches?
  10. np: RU Stage 5 - Dark Side of the Moon

gah its annoying having every team on the ladder be a super heavy offensive hazards team. Three times in a row i faced a team with Final Gambit + Spikes Accelegor and Aerodactyl. How are you guys beating this? I can't seem to be able to get a spin off.
  11. np: RU Stage 5 - Dark Side of the Moon

I feel like Texas summed up pretty perfectly why omastar doesn't dominate the metagame. And if for some reason you can't keep letting omastar set up, which shouldn't happen, Specially Defensive Ludicolo works like a charm! Only takes 41.2-48.35% from a +2 icebeam. Even if there are hazards, you...
  12. np: RU Stage 5 - Dark Side of the Moon

Durant is good, but I just can't stand the 80% accuracy. I know that mathwise hustle is an amazing ability but its soo rage inducing! Also I just want to note how ridiculously simple it is to ladder with HO teams. Smeargle + 5 random offensive pokemon does pretty good. A team with Torterra...
  13. Dream World General Metagame Discussion

Just wondering, will there ever be a DreamWorld UU or RU or something like that?
  14. Ask a Simple Question Get a Simple Answer - RU Edition

You should probably just start out with Aerodactyl and 5 strong pokemon. Honestly heave offense is really really good in this metagame. It's not perfect, but from there you can pick it up quickly. And sadly Crawdant kind of sucks. I really wish it was good, but it's just too outclassed by...
  15. Without a clue.

On Sceptile I recommend that you run Leaf Storm over Dragon Pulse. Dragon doesn't really give you any extra coverage (except over...druddigon i guess?) Leaf Storm is a good idea on any Sceptile set, so that when you are about to die you can get off one last big hit.
  16. Honchkrow Suspect Discussion

Honestly, if you haven't faced Molten Kyurem's Ban Stunfisk team then you probably shouldnt be commenting on the viability of Stunfisk. That team used Stunfisk to reach #1 easily and showed that it actually is a really solid pokemon, no matter how derpy it looks. 109/84/99 defenses aren't the...
  17. My Best Team

I really like your team right now, but i think there are some things that could make it better. First of all, put the defense and special defensive evs on feraligatr into hp. That makes it bulkier than splitting the evs. Also, i recommend you put some more evs from Mandibuzz into speed. 48...
  18. Honchkrow Suspect Discussion

When i first started playing RU, i thought Moxiekrow was easily broken. I got swept time and time again. Then, I actually started trying to be decent. I got a honchkrow counter and all of a sudden, it was completely useless. Use regirock, stunfisk, rhydon, nearly any rock or steel pokemon and...
  19. Sceptile Discussion

Oh synthesis, i have never thought of that. I'll have to try that on my sceptile. Does if usually work for you? it seems like giga drain might be better because you can kill things and still get health back
  20. Sceptile Discussion

Honestly why not just use a life orb set? It is so much more reliable than the three you posted. Subseed doesn't work with so many grass types in the tier, unburden with grass gem is bad because you will be at -2 SAtk. The swords dance unburden set can work, but it takes so much to set up and it...
