  1. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 7 (read first post)

So vitamins and berries will still have their effect at level 100, and the only thing that I can no longer do is get EVs from battles (as you can no longer get exp)... thanks!
  2. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer - mark 7 (read first post)

Okay, EV question here: I have a Entei at level 100 that I was traded. Looking at its stats, it's clear they original trainer didn't focus on EVs. So my question is, are there any options I can take to modify this at least a little? Like can I give it berries to reduce the Special Attack to 0...
  3. I would like to post the longest warstory ever.

I liked it, good read, good match. However, I could have done without this comment, as it kind of spoiled the outcome very early on: "TTar probably lost this battle for me. You’ll see why in the end."
  4. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer mark 5

Quick inquiry: Say I switch in a unstatused Heracross with Flame Orb attached against a Breloom using Spore. Heracross then goes to sleep... but does the Flame Orb activate at the end of turn and change the status to Burn, or would it have to wait until he wakes up? I assume he has to wait...
  5. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer mark 5

Damn... I could have sworn I got it to 2 at one time in Ruby, when I didn't EV train one and was just playing through the normal game. Oh well, thanks for the info.
  6. Ask a simple question, get a simple answer mark 5

If I give Shedinja 4 EVs in HP, would that mean its HP would be at 2 at level 100? Or does he work differently from everyone else in regards to EVs and HP?
  7. Sandstorm Teams: Concept and Development.

Agree. If he tosses in Gliscor for Torterra, though, he should be fairly well off.
  8. The Double Battle metagame; does it require skill?

I fully agree, although I feel that Life Orb tends to work much better in Doubles, as with 8 potential attacks at your disposal it's much easier to just continue sweeping with super effective hits. It's also much more dangerous to switch out in Doubles, as it's much harder to play the prediction...
  9. The Double Battle metagame; does it require skill?

Bronzong is great in Doubles... but the Garchomp example above, not so much. It's x4 weakness to Ice is lethal in doubles, as you have two movepools to worry about. Due to speed, power and coverage, you can more than expect to see a Starmie or a Weavile as a lead, which will slaughter the...
  10. The Double Battle metagame; does it require skill?

Doubles is fun... just the number of options that you can do successfully is cut down a lot. It's highly focused on just quick and hard hitting guys, and with two movepools at your disposal it's pretty easy to always have a super effective attack that will OHKO the other, meaning it often comes...
  11. Ursaring + Toxic Orb!

    Breloom says hi
  12. return of the gimmicks! at least possibly competitive ones. . .

Again, to what avail? You aren't running a set that takes advantage of running through lots of turns. And using Dig to "force a switch"...? Why? Lets run through a likely scenario: *Shedinja uses Dig* *other attack misses* *Opponent switches to Gengar* *Shedinja uses Dig.... misses* Now who...
  13. return of the gimmicks! at least possibly competitive ones. . .

To what avail? You aren't running Toxic, so wasting a turn isn't going to help you unless you plan to burn through their PPs. A early warning on an attack that has immunities is always a bad thing, but I doubt I have to explain much how worthless Dig is.
  14. How many hours do you have on your game?

Just tested this out, and yep, correct... wow, so I guess I really did play 397 hours then.....
  15. How many hours do you have on your game?

397 hours here. However, I leave my game in standby a lot, and it seems to still count the time from that... so it's not a fair representation, although fairly close.
  16. New Move Speed Priorities

You would only out speed the Aqua Jet if you were also using a +1 priority move against the other user.
  17. Introducing Pesknoir!

I agree, although your above example was a DD vs. Destiny Bond stall situation, which wouldn't have been possible with Taunt already in place and would have spelled the eventual switch of the Gyarados after the KO or its own death rather than a 6-0 sweep.
  18. Introducing Pesknoir!

Yeah, was about to say, given Miro's example above that Gyarados is pretty much dead next turn if it doesn't switch out, no way it's going in for an entire sweep. The DD's are going to make it incredibly fast, which in a Trick Room makes it fodder for anything with electric attacks.
